Nik fell in love with Summer when she worked for him. He was so happy to find a women who didn't care about his money...till Summer stole from him. Searching for her, he finds her in prison after stealing from another company. Summer is going straight, she is done stealing from others. Free, she walks out of prison to find Nik waiting for her. She is to work for him till she pays him back or till he sees fit or he's turning her in for stealing from him. This was a fun read but no surprise as Nina always writes enjoyable boo

This was a cute fast paced story! I am somewhat in the middle when it comes to this book. I didn't love it but also I didn't hate it too.I don't know what was my main reason, probably the heroine.I couldn't connect with her and I didn't like her a lot!

I loved the first book and I couldn't wait to read this one..while it was good and hot, it wasn't my fav.
I liked Nik, I truly did, and Summer was ok..I just expected more from her and I am not even sure why. She is the type of character you either love or hate.
I liked the story but wasn't mad on both characters..and that's ok..totally personal pov..but as I said, the story was interesting.
It was a fast hot read andI am looking forward to book 3.

This book was fantastic! Summer and Nik had chemistry that was burning up the pages. I really liked both characters and Summer was a good person, despite her rough past. I found this book to be a quick and engaging read that I will definitely be rereading. The book gets 5 stars and I'm looking forward to more from Nina Croft.

I was immediately hooked on this series when I first met the “bad girls” in Falling for the Bad Girl. I was thrilled to get my grabby little hands on Summer’s book (and I’m seriously salivating for Darcy’s story). The premise of the story immediately grabbed me. Three years ago, Summer and Nik shared a passionate kiss that could have led to so much more…until she disappeared, taking a large amount of Nik’s money with her. He never ceased looking for her and he’s finally got her. Summer is about to be released from prison and Nik has plans in mind for her.
Still bitter from an ugly divorce, Nik thought he finally found a woman that was interested in him and not his money. After all, Summer believed that he was part of the maintenance staff when she worked at his company. It isn’t until she disappears with a hefty amount of his money that her lies truly hit him. He’ll make her earn it the honest way now, by making her work for his company as his personal assistant. He’ll just have to ignore that aggravating attraction that never ceased brewing between them.
Not everything is as it seems with Summer, but her secrets are her own. She’s not about to share her reasons with a man that’s basically blackmailing her into working for him. But maybe if she can work out their annoying sexual chemistry out of her system, she can finally move from the ghost of the memory of the kiss they shared. But nothing ever works out as it’s planned and things soon begin to get deliciously complicated between them.
While I loved the chemistry between Nik and Summer, I couldn’t help feeling like something was missing for me. There wasn’t anything about the story that truly grabbed me and I struggled to truly connect to the characters. They both had a great backstory but it just wasn’t enough. I couldn’t place my finger on what it was exactly that was missing, but it was. It was an enjoyable read, but not my favorite from this author.

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

I loved everything about this book. I loved how Nik was so strong but had this soft blue side to him that didn't take away from his manliness but somehow made him ultra sexy. I also really liked Summers character because she in a way was really a bad girl who was doing the wrong thing for all of the right reasons.

Nina did a great job with this book because she did not keep things cookie cutter or one dimensional. Every character had another layer to them that made them more human and likeable. Overall a really good book for a great price.

Up next in this series of bad girls is Summer. She is being released from prison after doing her time for crimes she committed and with plans of going straight and narrow. Expecting her friend to pick her up on release day, to say she’s shocked to see the man from her past she ripped off is an understatement. In the hopes of saving Summer from reoffending, Nik blackmails her in a misguided attempt at saving her and understanding why she chose a life of crime. Nik was a mark she was never supposed to fall for but she didn’t know who he was until after it was too late. After hooking up, she stole the money and disappeared! Now she’s out of jail from the next job gone bad. After threating to turn her in if she doesn’t do what he says, she will do anything to not return to jail. The more time they spend together, Nik begins to understand Summer has reasons for her past bad acts. The chemistry and interesting interaction between Summer and Nik were just to compelling to put down. I would give this book 5 stars.

I'll be the odd one out on this book and admit I didn't like it. I felt no depth in either of the main characters. I don't think enough of their background was given for us to really get to know them. Maybe that comes eventually but it's hard to get behind characters if you feel no connection with them.

A nice conclusion to what could have been a confusing start. I thought this was going to take a very different track. It's not often that the man is the one totally into a 'relationship' and the female is the fleeing resistant one to this extent. I understand her wariness and his pursuit though. Good characters and a fun time all around.

Refreshing read. First book I've read with a female inmate! Getting out and ready to live on the straight and narrow. Setting things up for her two friends she made on the inside. Nik caught feelings while she was working at his company and has been looking for her since she left with a large chunk of his money. Picking her up outside of the prison also ready to make sure she stays straight he sets her up with a job so that he is able to keep and eye on her but mostly because he is drawn to her and just wants to spend time with her. The beginning of their journey. Its filled with steamy scenes, romance, and a little drama to keep you on your toes. Would recommend to all!

Blackmailing the Bad Girl
Cutting Loose #2
Nina Croft
3.5 ✨

Cute, but short read by Nina Croft. This is the second story in the series but can be read as a standalone book.
Summer is recently released from prison after embezzling from a company. Nik Masterton was scammed by Summer, who stole his money and disappeared. Summer was surprised to see Nik waiting for her outside the prison when she was released. From there they restarted their romance. But can Nik save her from going back to jail?

I enjoyed reading this book and will look out for more by Nina Croft in the future. Thanks Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely love this series! This is the second in the Cutting Loose series by Nina Croft. It can be read as a stand alone.

This book was Summer's story & I loved her from the very first page. And Nic was so interesting. Great couple & it was fun to root for their HEA.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a cute story. So we have Summer who was getting out of jail for embezzlement, she is ready to start her new life. Waiting for her is Nik, who claims that he wants to reform her, so that she does not start stealing again, he was upset that she stole from him, after he felt that they had a connection, three years ago. Summer does not want anything to do with him, but he does not give her a choice, that is where the blackmail comes in, if she does not work for him, he can turn over the information to the police and she can go back to prison, and she is petrified. They are both really attracted to each other, and trying to fight, not really, they claim they are, the same day, they attack each other, but they do go back and forth. And when she finally thinks she might have a chance at happiness, her past catches up with her, and what is going to happen? Well my friends you have to read, and while she was in jail she ends up making friends with two other woman, one has a story, falling for the bad girl, I don't think Darcy's is out yet. we shall see. Enjoy.

I love the premise of the Cutting Loose series. It’s about three women who meet in prison, become cellmates/best friends, and promise to always have each other’s backs. Plus, make sure that when they are all out that they stay on the up and up.

Nina Croft is a relatively new to me author. I read the first book in her Cutting Loose series, Falling for the Bad Girl and liked the book. From reading the first book, I was sure that I wasn’t going to like Blackmailing the Bad Girl. The books are standalone reads, but Falling for the Bad Girl didn’t leave me chomping at the bit to read Summer’s story. She was a secondary character who was a forgotten mystery to me.

I could not have been more wrong about Blackmailing the Bad Girl. From the beginning, I was loving Summer Delaney and Nik Masterton. The two initially meet almost three years ago, when Summer worked for Masterton Industries and thought Nik was a maintenance man. The two hit it off and spent after work hours hanging out together at the company. While Summer was plotting to steal money from the company, Nik was doing something else. “Three years ago, I was on the verge of falling in love with you.” Thus, when Summer disappeared with a million pounds of company money he didn’t notify the police. That’s not to say that he hasn’t been looking for her, because he has. And he has just found her, doing a four year stint in Holloway prison for attempting to steal from another company. With Summer up for parole, Nik plans to implement “The Rehabilitation of Summer Delaney”. Nik wants Summer to be his personal assistant, in exchange for him not turning her over to the police. And if in the process there is some boss/assistant hanky panky, all the better.

There are definitely sparks and then some with Nik and Summer, but even with the blackmail there’s still friendship and understanding. “I can feel your heart.” “I bet you didn’t believe I had one.” Nik definitely has one of the biggest hearts there is. “I want to know you’re okay, not going to get in trouble again. I guess I want to be your friend.”

While it’s easy to figure out what’s going to happen, Blackmailing the Bad Girl was a really good read. The story had my attention from the beginning and never once had me wanting to put it down. I loved the secondary characters. The next and final book in the series is one I REALLY want to read. It should feature Darcy, a MMA fighter and third bad girl, and the uncle of her niece. But I would REALLY love if Nik’s best friend and right hand man Harry had a story.

3.75 stars--BLACKMAILING THE BAD GIRL is the second installment in Nina Croft’s contemporary, adult CUTTING LOOSE erotic, romance series focusing on three friends-Summer, Regan and Darcy – three women who met in prison while serving sentences for crimes of passion. This is billionaire CEO Nik Masterton, and Summer Delaney’s story line. BLACKMAILING THE BAD GIRL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Nik and Summer) BLACKMAILING THE BAD GIRL follows the building relationship between CEO Nik Masterton, and the woman who stole one million dollars from the company Nik controls. Enter Summer Delany, Nik’s former employee, and recent inmate at a correctional facility. What ensues are Nik’s attempts to blackmail the woman that stole more than his money, but the woman the stole his heart years before.

Summer Delaney had just been released on early parole when part of her past, a past she was hoping to forget, made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Summer’s time served did not include time for the embezzled funds from one of Nik Masterton’s companies, and Nik was determined to make Summer pay for sin of the past. Nik had no idea what he was going to do but seeing Summer brought back old feelings, and in order to keep her close, our hero devised a scheme to keep the woman with whom he would fall in love, but in doing so inadvertently revealed more of her past.

The relationship between Summer and Nik is a second chance / enemies to friends / forbidden office romance wherein Nik forces Summer to work off her debt as his personal assistant but the heart wants more than a one-night stand, and Summer will fall for the man that could all but destroy her life. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense.

We are re-introduced to Summer’s former cell mates: Regan and Darcy, as well as Summer’s mother Elizabeth Delaney; Nik’s friend and business partner Harry Brent, and Nik’s parents David and Elena Masterton.

The world building focuses on the relationship between Nik and Summer, and Summer’s battle to stay one step ahead of her past.

BLACKMAILING THE BAD GIRL is a fast paced, engaging tale of second chances both in life and love. The premise is uplifting; the romance is passionate and sensual; the characters are charismatic and inspiring. BLACKMAILING THE BAD GIRL is a provocative and idealistic look at one woman’s chance at a happily ever after.

What's a girl to do when she's about to get out of prison? Well, if you're Summer, you try to start over and keep bad influences out of your life. Unfortunately, Summer's past is about to catch up with her when she steps foot out of prison and finds a man she embezzled from, waiting for her. The man, Nik, was one she had felt awful for scamming, but she had her reasons, really good reasons if you were to believe her. Nik is furious, but more than that, he's hurt, because he had allowed himself to believe that a woman finally wanted him for more than him money, when he met Summer. That she proved him wrong still hurts, and he's come to extract his pound of flesh from her. A little game of blackmail (but not for money) and soon Summer and Nik are falling headlong in lust again with each other.

I like Blackmailing the Bad Girl and that for once, the heroine is the bad girl and the hero isn't the bad boy. Summer and Nik are a great couple and the blackmail trope is nicely executed here, spiced up with sexy chemistry. Nina Croft is fast becoming a favorite author of mine!
