I really enjoyed this well written romance about Nik a CEO and Summer the con artist that not only stole his money but also stole his heart. The author did a great job of making this story not only believable but with enough suspense to keep the reader interested and turning the pages. The sex scenes were well done and not over the top like so many romance novels I have read lately. If you are looking for a great summer read I recommend you read this excellent book.

Blackmailing the Bad Girl by Nina Croft was one of those reads that I liked and yet didn’t loved. I am somewhat in the middle when it comes to this book. I like the concept of redemption and second chances and yet Summer Delaney is not a character that I found myself liking. For some reason she irked me the wrong way. Maybe it was her personality when she got released from prison but either way, she was one of those heroine characters that I didn’t find myself drawn to. As for the hero, Nik, I liked his role in this book. It was the big saving factor as to why I continued to read this book. He helped the story to move along. Overall, this book was just okay.

Loved this book! Summer is a bad girl who did two years in prison for her crime and was released with good intentions and a plan. Instead of her friend greeting her at the gate, she sees Nik, the CEO that misrepresented himself and that she stole from. He coerces her into leaving with him, then presents her with his plan and threatens her with what he'll do if she doesn't comply.

Based on the blackmail alone, I really wanted to hate Nik, but I just couldn't. He's just too great a character to hate and has compelling reasons for his actions. Then Summer, a bad girl, has even more compelling reasons for her actions. Put the two of them together and they have lots of interesting interactions with both assuming they understand the other. Add in the sizzling chemistry, and you have a novel that I just couldn't put down.

This is a must read for fans of the genre. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Summer is sorry for so many things. The money she stole from Nik's business is top on that list. Nik's been used before, so he decided to make sure it doesn't happen again where Summer is concerned. She surprised him by showing him her true self. Both are so lucky to have very good friends. They stand by them and don't judge.

I loved the first book in this serious and, as the mystery of the three bad girls, I was looking forward to discovering Summer's past, why she'd ended up inside and who would help make her reintroduction into society a little easier and a whole lot steamier.

“I want you to be my coming-out present.”

If you're looking for a quick, sexy fix, then Blackmailing the Bad Girl ticks those boxes and, for that reason, Nina Croft is one of my go to author's. But at the same time it fell into the read and forget category and I felt a little unsatisfied: as endearing as I found Summer and Nik, their connection felt confused amongst the various tropes, balancing between enemies-to-lovers, second chance and boss/employee but never really finding firm ground.

"I’m rich enough that if you stay with me, you’ll never need to steal again.”

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
