I loved The Rancher and the City Girl by Joya Ryan.

This book was just what I was in the mood for, the storyline was engaging, the characters were likable, frustrating and their chemistry was off the charts!!

Charlotte and Reed had me laughing and swooning one minute and wanting to slap them the next lol

For me, Charlotte made this book such a joy to read. I admired her character and her determination to get things done. She wasn't going to let the farm get the better of her.
She made me laugh so many times, one example was her googling on how to milk a cow :D
This girl meant business and no sexy rancher was going to get in her way ;)

Reed's character took me a little longer to connect with. While I understood Reed's fear of letting his cute and smart little girl get too close to Charlotte after being hurt in the past, some of his comments were a little hurtful and my heart went out to Charlotte.
Then he'll go do something sweet and all was forgiven. Reed truly had a good heart and only wanted to protect his daughter and his heart.
By the end of the book Reed had won me over and I knew without a doubt he had found his soulmate in Charlotte.

Overall, The Rancher and the City Girl was a very entertaining & steamy read with likable, relatable characters that will bring out all the feels.
What an awesome start to the Tempting the Rancher series.

Oh cowboy take me away! Reed Montgomery ous one fine specimen of a man, sweet baby Jesus my ovaries exploded reading this book. Cowboys and tea parties with little girl's will make your heart squeeze tight. And don't even get me started on the city girl, who knew you could change your ways because of a cowboy and his daughter. It sure would me.

This has quickly become a new favorite series for me, and I'm looking forward to Bo and Cash getting but by the love bug as well.

The Rancher and The City Girl is a sweet, sexy read. Charlie (Charlotte) is visiting her Grandma, who is recovering from surgery. While in Wyoming, she takes over the care of her grandma's ranch, and it's clear she is in over her head. What does she know, a freelance web designer from LA, about running a farm? So to the rescue comes Tripp, her grandma's neighbor, a sexy, single dad who runs his own cattle ranch with the help of his two best friends, Bo and Cash.

From their very first meeting, Charlie and Tripp's chemistry is electric. I relished seeing them fall headlong into love, but I cringed a little, too, because Tripp has issues and those issues cause him to pull away from Charlie more than once, hurting her in the process. Since the mother of his daughter, Grace, left when she was little, he has not had another relationship, or even allowed himself to get close to another woman. Grace is his whole life, and he hasn't wanted to expose her to a woman who may not stick around for the long haul. It's this fear of Grace getting hurt that causes him to say hurtful things to Charlie, and to push her away one too many times, til she finally cracks and has to protect her heart.

The Rancher and The City Girl is a well written, sexy romance with that classic trope, opposites attract. Charlie and Tripp make a great couple, with serious chemistry. And the excellent secondary cast help round out The Rancher and The City Girl. I'm hoping there might be a story to come for Bo and Erica, too!

Another sexy read by Joya Ryan! Charlie has come to take care of her grandmother, but when she meets Tripp her life will never be the same. Tripp has a difficult time trusting women after Gracie’s mother deserts them. Will their love be enough to overcome the obstacles?

What a sweet, hot, steamy read! I absolutely loved this book.

Tripp’s wife left him when their daughter was just a baby and he’s been determined to never let another woman come into his life. They will only leave again and he refuses to expose Gracie to that kind of pain. When he has a one night stand with Charlotte he never expects to see her again. Of course if he didn’t, the story would end there, but he does and each time they meet the sparks fly and their connection grows stronger.

Charlotte and Tripp are two people who have built up walls to protect themselves against those that would leave them. It was interesting that they both suffered from the same fears. I was curious how the heck either one would ever overcome their past and step into the future. The solution was perfect for both of these characters and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending.

There was one moment when Tripp played the alpha-hole card and I wanted to smack him with it. However, Bo, a great secondary character, set him on the path to finding the answer. I will absolutely be looking forward to his story. Because really, Bo. It must be written.

If you’re looking for a nice, rather quick read that is full of fun, laughter, sexy times and some angst, this is the most perfect book.

A fun and light hearted read about a city girl (much like myself) and a country boy who don't seem to have anything in common, except in the bedroom!

Charlotte Gram is in Cheyenne, Wyoming helping her grandmother recover from surgery. She is also helming her take care of her small farm. Even if it is small, Charlotte is at a loss on how to do anything. Right before Charlotte ends up at her grandmother's, her car breaks down and handsome rancher Reed Montgomer, stops to help her out. Their chemistry is electric right from he start. One thing leads to another, and they end up having a one night fling with no strings.

To Reed'a surprise, he learns Charlotte is his new neighbor for the summer, helping out Gram and driving him crazy. City meets country big time in this book. I felt for Charlotte in a big way. I also would be lost in a farm!

Reed and Charlotte grow closer, but Reed doesn't let anyone too close, to protect his daughter and his heart.

This was a cute story about opposites and falling in love when least expecting it!

So fun, sweet, and sexy! This was a charming, fast paced read that had a lot of heart and the perfect amount of heat. Loved it!

Tripp and Charlotte were so great. I loved them meeting and connecting. Awesome chemistry. As things unfold, there is great animosity and banter that's super entertaining between the two. I loved watching that heat and need grow between them. Charlotte was stubborn and feisty and I liked her fire. She was a bit lost in life and was searching for her place. Tripp had serious swagger and was swoon worthy. I loved how he was completely devoted to his daughter. This is pretty fast paced and they do have an instant connection but I totally rolled with it because somehow it just worked perfectly for me. It was a quick and light, but a full story that I couldn't put down.

I loved the storyline. This one had me at single father. Add in cowboy and it was like icing on the cake. There's enough details to keep things moving along at a brisk pace but I never felt it was rushed, just enough to keep everything moving along perfectly. Love the sparks flying. It was entertaining and sexy, and there was a nice bit of emotion and playfulness too. It made for an excellent afternoon read!

Loved it. Hot cowboys for the win!

Single dad Tripp doesn't do relationships, for one, he doesn't want to expose his daughter to someone who isn't willing to stick around and to be honest, he isn't willing to risk his heart again. If Gracie's own mom could so easily walk away whats to keep a stranger from doing the same?

But all his reasons and endless excuses for staying away from tempting city girl Charlie fly right out the window every time they find themselves together. Going in to their physical attraction is easy, its letting down his guard and letting her into his family life that becomes a tricky slippery slope.

Charlie fell for Tripp the minute she laid eyes on him. He's a sexy gentleman cowboy to the rescue. When their alone. But Charlie quickly learns that theres two sides to Tripp Montgomery and he's only willing to share one with her.

She only planned to stay until her grandmother got back on her feet after ankle surgery, but Charlie starts to wonder if maybe it could be worth her while to stay. If she can break down Tripps walls, Charlie's willing to grab on to him and his rag tag family with both hands.

What I liked about it:
Tripp and Charlie has some explosive sexual tension that a tangible thing jumping out from the pages. Their flirty first meeting and ONS was HAWT! And the heat pretty much keeps climbing the richter scale of sexy. I loved their short lived (but hilarious) love/hate relationship and the fact that their relationship didn't evolve solely around their sexual encounters. They were great together in and out of the bedroom. Tripp has some trust issues to work through and he does have some less than stellar moments of idiocy but Charlie always stands her ground and calls him on his BS when needed. She really was a great h. No TSTL moments and no doormat syndrome in sight ladies.

The secondary characters were also pretty awesome. I loved Cash and Bo, aka the Uncles. Gracie was a cute kid and Charlie's Grandmother was a sassy lovable old lady.

What I didn't like about it:
Charlie had it right when she mentions there are two sides to Tripp. The fun sexy bachelor and the stern coldly standoffish rancher. And much like Charlie I loved Tripp when he was just enjoying his time with Charlie. When they were alone, he was a sweet considerate guy who treated Charlie like someone he genuinely cared for. But as soon as he left her, he wasn't a man who wanted a woman, he became a rigid man who too easily pushed Charlie away. I get that he had to learn to trust Charlie with his heart and most importantly, with Gracie but I hated seeing Charlie, someone who has been rejected so many times in her life by people who should have cared and loved her unconditionally, being hurt every time Tripp pushed her away.

Memorable Moment:
There are a few LOL moments but my favorite is still their little battle of wills after Tripp acts like a jerk when he finds out his wild ONS is a lot closer to home than he's comfortable with. Charlie doesn't let him off the hook for his freak out and I still laugh over the cow milking scene! That was just good old fashion funny.

Ms. Ryan proves there's more to romance than a sexy romp. It's the story behind the romance that delivers that microburst of emotion. That powerful blast that hits like an arrow to the heart. The Rancher and the City Girl is more than the story of an opposites attract relationship. It's travels into the uncharted territory of bromance and fatherhood. There can be nothing more adorable than a besotted dad and his irresistible bond with his little girl. All of these elements merge into a second chance expedition that will bring on a lot of laughter, a few tears and the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled for the ARC.

So here's a common theme: cowboy and city girl. And yet this book, this story didn't make me feel as if it's the same cookie-cutter story. I liked Charlie. I liked Tripp. Sure they were both stubborn about how they felt for one another, but there was a reason behind such hesitation. Though they couldn't resist each other. Charlie could've shared why she's protecting herself with Tripp. He had to hear it from Grams. But I guess it's ok. Was rooting for them anyway.

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last.

the rancher and the city girl is the first book in joya ryan's tempting the rancher series. tripp montgomery is the aforementioned rancher and charlotte grams is the city girl who blazes into town and shakes his world up.

tripp has been busy, running his ranch, raising his daughter, avoiding difficult emotional connections. it's pretty easy to keep a distance from things when there isn't a lot of new coming into cheyenne, wyoming. there's nothing to shake him out of his routine. but when he comes across charlie, cursing up a storm at her rental car, he's compelled to help her and intrigued enough to risk one night of something more.

it's when he realizes that she's around for a while and that she will be his neighbor that he panics. he doesn't bring women around his daughter willy-nilly. they've already been abandoned by her birth mom. why would he risk her heart as well as his? these are some pretty big walls that charlotte has to scale. and she often doesn't get where he is coming from. mostly because in her life, everyone leaves her behind. sometimes she wonders if there is something essentially unloveable about her.

tripp doesn't think she is unloveable. he's actually worried she is too loveable. he doesn't want his daughter to fall in love with charlie if she will leave. he doesn't want to fall in love with her if she's only planning to go back to the city. but it's too late. how can he stop himself from loving her, when she's already wormed her way into his heart. and how this conflict resolves itself is totally worth the read.

4 stars- This has a flavor of the past movie 3 men and a baby but upgraded. It is done Country farm style and it rocks. The man is hot, smart, caring and there for his little girl- full time. The mother walked away and that taught our guy never to trust a woman again and to always protect his daughter from any pain.
So no dating for this man...

He does see a damsel in distress on the highway kicking the Sh!t out of the dead car...and when he works on the car or tries to fix it...the sparks are not with the car but the two of them! Both recognize the frisky... and decide a one night hook up should happen... and boy it does...

Only it turns out that the never seeing each other again...that is a no go because our gal is the the granddaughter of our cowboy's neighbor. She is going to be at the farm helping her grandmother since she hurt her ankle.
This is a problem because our cowboy is afraid his daughter might become attached to a woman who plans on leaving.

Excellent read.

The Rancher and the City Girl is an captivating contemporary romance by Joya Ryan.

Tripp Montgomery (referred to as Reed in the book summary) and his two best friends are ranchers in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Due to his single father status, Tripp spends his days trying to corral the cattle, as well as his adorable little six-year-old daughter, which doesn't allow any time to date. However, when Tripp meets a lovely Los Angeles city girl visiting Cheyenne, he asks her out on a date. After their one night together, Charlotte "Charlie" Gram doesn't expect to see Tripp again, yet she discovers that they're now neighbors, while she helps her grandmother on the bordering ranch.

One blissful night leads to disagreements and drama, until Tripp and Charlotte decide to focus on a tentative relationship. However, issues from their pasts may affect their future, unless they can move onto trusting each other.

The Rancher and the City Girl is highly recommended and geared towards those who enjoy reading contemporary romance books.

I think I'm becoming a fan of cowboys! This is a first read of Joya Ryan for me and I like her writing style. This was a shorter read but a perfect length for the story.

I was worried I wasn't going to like Charlotte. She's a city girl heading to the country to help her grandma's farm while she recovers from ankle surgery. Usually a city girl attempting farm work is disastrous. I really liked that the author gave her a backbone to learn the work and accomplish it successfully. Her use of YouTube videos to learn how to do things was hilarious and brilliant.

I loved almost everything about Tripp. He was a great single dad, very protective of his daughter. When he wasn't trying to keep Charlotte away from his daughter, he was charming and hot. I can't really blame him for trying to keep Gracie from falling for random woman, so he gets a pass for that. When he failed keeping them apart, the interactions with Charlotte and Grace were adorable.

Overall a shirt, cute and fun read. ARC provided by NetGalley.
