Another good addition to the series. Lacy is settling into New Orleans well, if only she could stay away from murder mysteries. This time she is making a delivery and finds out her father's friend was found dead and her father was the last person seen with him. Now with her dad possibly being accused of murder and her mother upset because of the swirling gossip Lacy tries to figure out what really happened.

I enjoyed this book, just wish Lacy would make a final decision about who her love interest is. Hopefully that will be coming next.

Cat Got Your Secrets by Julie Chase is an exciting new murder mystery. A young woman finds out that her dad is anything but fine. His whole body language says he's not okay. Just as Lacey goes to a client, she soon finds that he's dead. And the last person who saw him alive was her dad. From there things become more complicated and messy. A blackmailer insists she stays quiet. But Lacey keeps digging away for the truth.

Cat Got Your Secrets is full of danger, risks, and humor. I was intrigued. Julie Chase created characters that were easy to relate to and like them. Lacey is close to my age and her life felt believable. Her parents were real in their behavior. A pushy but caring mother and a good dad whose hiding secrets....but I also learned that he wasn't the only one keeping them. Interesting, entertaining, and a feel good read. I enjoyed following this mystery. Overall, I recommend it to readers everywhere.

Lacy has settled back home in New Orleans and opened a pet boutique in Cat Got Your Secrets by Julie Chase. When her father's friend is murdered Lacy gets involved in looking for the culprit to remove suspicion from her father. Sweet characters and a well thought out plot distract me from wondering if anyone can really make a living designing and sewing outfits for pets. I enjoyed this.

Setting:  New Orleans

Characters:  Lacy Marie Crocker-NOLA native and recently returned fashion designer and owner of a pet boutique. Detective Jack Oliver-former military, no-nonsense police detective.

Plot:  Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and Lacy is busy keeping her boutique stocked with holiday themed pet treats, toys, and, of course, fashionable outfits. Her mother, meanwhile, is taking advantage of the opportunity provided by an upscale - and very discreet - thrift store owner, going through the family mansion and picking out the items she can do without. While Lacy may be a little miffed at which items of hers her mom is trying to sneak out without telling her, she's surprised when her father seems to be just as cranky. His uncharacteristic mood is definitely cause for concern - especially when Detective Oliver arrives to arrest him. A man was found dead in a walk-in freezer and Lacy's father just happened to be a good friend . . . and the last person to see him alive. Much to Jack's chagrin, Lacy throws herself into his investigation yet again, desperate to clear her father's good name. But when photos and threats begin to arrive on her doorstep, threatening not only to reveal secrets from her past, but also Lacy's life, it's Jack who is feeling desperate to keep her safe.

Pacing:  Swift

Predictability:  Low

Wild Card:  Cat Got Your Secrets is the third in the Kitty Couture mystery series, and may be my favorite yet. I feel a little thrill of excitement whenever I see a new title in the series; I know I'm in for a great story, filled with humor, drama, action, and Julie Chase's signature quirky yet lovable heroine.

Another great entry in the Kitty Couture series. Lacey's dad is the main suspect in a friend's murder and detective Jack is back in her life. When a large blackmail scheme is uncovered the town of New Orleans is in an uproar. I love this series with the pet shop as the center of the story. Some great pet hints and recipes scattered throughout the book.

I cannot praise this series enough! Cat Got Your Secrets is book 3 in the Kitty Couture Mystery series. We are once again tagging along with Lacy as she is definitely getting into her groove being back home, finding a balance with her parents, especially her mom. As Lacy gears up for Valentine's Day, she once again stumbles upon a body with her own father being suspect number one. We are taken over the twists and turns as lacy attempts to clear her father's name while getting into trouble of her own.
This series has quickly become in the top five. The writing is so beautifully done, I cannot compliment it enough. The characters are likable when needed, hated when needed, with just enough complexity to keep it interesting. I find myself waiting in anticipation for the next installment!

This book was not my cup of tea. I do not publicly post negative reviews.

This was the first title in this series that I tried, and I just could not get into it. Lacy overreacts to everything, and I am completely not getting why she would assume her dad is going to be convicted of murder somehow just because he was with the victim the night before. When a friend says that he didn't tell her something because she overreacts, she thinks, Why did people keep saying that?

I wonder. Seconds later, "This is a big deal. My dad's life is at stake."

Sometimes overly dramatic characters can be fun, but this one feels, to me, both flat and too dramatic at the same time. I guess the voice just isn't for me.

This cozy is set in New Orleans, with an interesting cast of characters (my favorite was Jack). I enjoyed this book and can recommend it for those who like New Orleans, pets, fashion and cozies.

Cat Got Your Secrets is the third installment in the Kitty Couture Mystery series set in New Orleans featuring pet boutique owner Lacy Crocker. Lacy's shop the Furry Godmother is very busy with Valentine's Day right around the corner, she's busy designing pet costumes for the National Pet Pageant and a large order has come in for her delicious pet treats.

When Lacy goes to drop off dog biscuits for a neighbors Bark Mitzvah, she discovers the body of Wallace Becker dead in the community hall freezer. The owner of the Cuddle Brigade, a group of pet nannies appears to have suffered a heart attack and froze to death. Unfortunately, Lacy's father was the last person to see Wallace alive and he quickly becomes a person of interest in the untimely death.

Despite her parents misgivings Lacy sets out to clear her father's name with the reluctant help of Detective Jack Oliver and attorney Chase Hawthorne. Her digging soon uncovers adultery, an illegitimate child and blackmail with Lacy herself receiving threatening notes and photos.

Another hit in the series! Great characters and pets that will have you smiling and laughing aloud. Best of all it seems that the author may have put an end to the dreaded love triangle. Looking forward to the next adventure starring Lacy and her precious Roomba riding Penelope.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley via Crooked Lane Publishing. While not required to write a review I am more than happy to share my honest opinion.

'Cat Got Your Secrets" is the third in a series of New Orleans-based cozy mysteries starring Lacy Crocker, who owns a pet couture shop. I somehow missed the second book in the series, but this is a great improvement over the first. Characters are quite unique, the book accurately reflects New Orleans and its culture, and the plot is stellar! I like that Lacy is a flawed heroine, who doesn't necessarily survive her encounters unscathed. There's a little romance, a little humor, pets (especially cats) and a great plot to keep you interested. I highly recommend this series of books, and look forward to reading the next one!

Julie Chase brings her plot to life with the help of her relatable characters, and her description of the great city of New Orleans. Lacy Crocker is back and finds herself thrust into another murder mystery. When her father is named a person of interest for the murder of his friend after an argument, Lacy knows that she has to help detective Jack Oliver solve the mystery. Lacy also has to help her mother with the organizing of the upcoming National Pet Pageant all the while deciding if her heart belongs to Jack or Chase.

I'm not familiar with this author, but the cover was so vibrant and the description interesting, that I couldn't resist. I was pretty disappointed with the writing. The story itself was good, Lacy owns a pet boutique, she designs and creates pet clothing.
It's the typical cozy mystery, Lacy stumbles upon a dead body, her father is a suspect and she races to solve the mystery. The story was just bland, there was no pizzazz, nothing that drew me in and caught my attention.
There were times the book felt very disjointed and didn't flow smoothly.

I might read the next one just to see if I feel the same way, but I won't add it to my list of books to read.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

Thankfully, the word kitten or kittens was NOT repeatedly used about 200 times as it was in the last book.

In this one, Lacy's dad is a suspect, but really, there isn't a lot of proof or motive so it seemed really weak. Lacy goes into hyperdrive to clear is name. In the process, she spends more time with her mother so we get more of their relationship. More of what happened in the previous two books continues, lots of pet shop dealings, Lacy getting hurt in pursuit of the killer and her seemingly interested in two guys and a third gets more than a little notice. So, while we have a new murder, a lot of the action seems repetitive. Maybe mixing in more of the secondary characters in and giving them more of a role in the action would help. They are an interesting bunch. I'd definitely like to "meet" Veda. She's brought up in every book and I can't understand why Lacy isn't more proactive about meeting her.

I give Secrets 2.5/5. I got my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
