Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
There really is something in the water in Bayfront. When Liv is reunited with her two bestfriends who she had a steamy night with years ago (who just happen to be stepbrothers), sparks start flying between them again right away. Can they make it work, especially when Liv has just decided to pursue dreams of her own? Spicy, as the other books in the series are, though the author doesn't really address the stepbrother issue (which I'm a bit glad of). Looking forward to the Bosses series up next.
Quick read (Novella) and this is last on Bayfront series. This series is all about MFM relationships.
Nathaniel and Tristan are step-brothers and they have been an outsider among elite social groups in Bayfront. Now they are successful billionaire bachelors and back in Bayfront for a wedding. When Tristan saw Liv, it brought happiest memories to for both.
Liv is happy living in Bayfront and live among friends. Now her best friend Fallon found her love with two lover, she couldn't forget her time with Tristan and Nathaniel in Paris. When she saw Tristan walking toward her, it brought memories of their night at Paris.
Nate and Tristan wanted Liv but they weren't sure if Liv would want them. They wanted her to come to them. They were best friends growing up and she was their girl from the then.
Liv wanted to spend more time with them and she was at cross road on her career. She wanted to pursue different path and when she thought she would spend more time with her best friends but Tristan and Nate maybe back in Bayfront.
Live, Nate and Tristan are great together but will they be able to spend more time other than snippets of time.
It is steamy read..
Thanks to Netgalley and Swerve for my ARC in exchange for honest review.
I enjoyed the journey that these characters went on! I was surprised by how much I liked it. Calista Fox is new to me and I would read more by her.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
3.5 STARS!!
Addiction is a quick read about what you want in life and where you want to go. It felt to perfectly amid the trio, meaning no major conflicts of jealousy or discomfort in their arrangement to be believable. Enjoyable read though.
I don’t want to say too much more about the story since this is a short novella and I hate spoilers.
You don’t have to have read the previous books to enjoy this short standalone. However, prior knowledge of the secondary characters might be a plus and you'll love the previous stories, too!
I don't really like novellas and this was no different. It just had a lot of sexual content that I thought should have told a story instead, but that's just me.
The Queen of Ménage - or as she is better known as - Calista Fox is back with another threesome taking place in Bayfront. I don’t know what it is, but it seems that the billionaires in Bayfront are all finding themselves an adventurous, exciting and sexy woman to make up their dream threesome. This time we have three childhood friends, two of which are step- brothers, who have reunited after last seeing each other five years ago. All they want now is to relive that one night that they all can’t seem to forget.
Liv Tyner has never been one to shy away from anything. Be it her career as an actress or her private life, she likes being the center of attention. But if there is one night that she has never been able to forget, it is that night in Paris where she had a steamy threesome with her childhood friends Nate Dalton and Tristan Reeves. Nate and Dalton were never like the other Bayfront kids. They weren’t rich and they were much much smarter. She always knew that there was something special about them and since that night she has dreamt about a repeat. Now that they are all back in their hometown, will they have a second night to fulfil their fantasies?
Nate Dalton and Tristan Reeves had a difficult childhood trying to fit into the opulent and lavish lifestyle in Bayfront. But with their dull looks and geeky manner, they have always found it difficult to fit in. Liv Tyner was their only friend and the girl of their dreams. And they haven’t been able to forget her since their night in Paris. I guess if ménage is your thing there is no better place to live your fantasies than Bayfront ;)
A short and hot novella that feels like a steamy fantasy. Perfect for those who like extra spice in their romance ;)
Good story, Good characters, easy to follow.
Short story, Havent read this author before so have no comparison.
All up okay story I dont think I will continue with the series
This was a super cute novella, the main plot doesn't waste anytime on getting started. I really enjoyed this novella and can't wait to start the next one.
Addiction by Calista Fox is a novella set in the Bayfront Billionaires series and continues to follow the wealthy and sexy residents of Bayfront, California as they find their true loves. This novella is super sweet and happy. For me, a little too much. If you want to read something sweet, happy and super-hot then check this novella out. This story is definitely on the lighter side compared to the previous book in the series, Obsession.
Liv, Nate, and Tristan are childhood friends and were nearly inseparable as they grew up but after high school Liv became a Hollywood star while Nate and Tristan worked on their growing business empire and their physique. This novella is a homecoming of sorts because Nate and Tristan haven’t been back in quite a while (and their appearance has changed so much that people they went to high school don’t recognize them anymore). Liv has been thinking A LOT about the threesome she had with the guys back in Paris five years ago and seeing them is bringing back memories that she might want to relive again.
Addiction is a story about what you want in life and where you want to go. The story is in its own way heavy but it felt more light as a story overall. I don’t want to say too much more on the story since this is a novella but it does tie in with the characters from previous books. You don’t have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one but prior knowledge of the secondary characters might be a plus.
Nate and Tristan are stepbrothers (although I missed the background so I don’t know if that was revealed in a previous book) and they only have two goals in mind. One is to build up their business empire so they can fit in with the area where they grew up and second is to transform their physical appearance so they can be worthy of Liv. Nate and Tristan felt they needed to work on their looks because they felt they needed to look good for Liv, especially by lifting weights. So I honestly just felt kind of “meh” towards these guys but they are totally goal oriented.
Liv is used to being on her own and traveling the world whenever she wants. She is a bit lonely but she knows what she wants to do in life and is working on that goal. Her plans get derailed when she realizes what could be with her best friends. Liv seems to be an overly optimistic type person and generally happy but I also just felt kind of “meh” about her too.
I don’t think I was in quite the right frame of mind to read this novella only because I kept getting annoyed by how perfect these three characters were. They just seemed so happy and perfect for each other. They guys never had an issue with one being favored over another or anything, everything just seemed strangely serene between them when it came to Liv. I also felt the major conflict between these characters wasn’t a conflict at all. I know what I would have chosen. I actually feel like she would have more problems settling down than traveling since she travels all the time for work. (But that could be me projecting my own feelings towards what she initially wanted to do.) This novella was an okay read for me but I could definitely see where others may enjoy it more.
The sheer overuse of the word "sob" and its various forms ruined this book for me. Also, I have lost track of all the different love triangles in this series. There are entirely too many names to keep track of. These books started off really good and interesting, and just sex books, but it is getting more difficult to like them.
This is short but of so a sweet finale for the Bayfront Billionaires series. You can read each book in this series as a standalone. However, there are reoccurring characters. This is a second chance romantic ménage.
Nate and Tristan are stepbrothers, and they were not in the favorite crowd while in school. Not only did they share parents but they both lusted after their friend Liv. Much like you'd expect the frogs turned into the handsome billionaires and Liv is now an actress. The brothers return home not only to expand their business but reconnect with Liv who has been thinking about the boys since they spent a weekend together. Great series and love the Bayfront crew! Keep it up, Calista Fox!
*I didn't get approved for this one NetGalley so I bought it*
A hot and sexy addition to the Bayfront Billionaires series, this quick read had a second chance romance with two hot men! Gotta love that! Lucky Liz!
Addiction is the fifth book in the the Bayfront Billionaire's series, but only the second one I've read, and while it's every bit as steamy and Obsession, the fourth book in the series, I found I liked it marginally less because of its brevity, among other reasons, and can only give it 3 stars.
As menage fiction goes, this novel offers a moderate amount of heat and not much else, but the lack of knowledge about the M/F/M trio makes it less effective than it should have been. For most of this too short read, I felt as though I was watching an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
Most of the action in this novel takes place over a two-week period as the heroine, successful actress, Liv Tyner, is relaxing during her "vacay" (sorry, but I think the word is and should be "vacation") at the exclusive Bayfront Yacht Club with her friend, Fallon Carteris, when she spots a ginormous yacht anchored at the far end of the cove, being too large to fit into a slip at the marina and a remark is made about its size representing penis envy. Both women are clearly obsessed with their looks and their bodies, and were a bit too intellectually vacuous for this reader's taste.
We're told that four of Liv's friends are in menage relationships, and that in this small community near San Francisco, those relationships have become if the norm among her friends. Liv had very hot memories of her one-night menage in Paris, 5 years earlier, but never mentioned it to her best friend, Fallon, deciding that the secret made that evening even more delicious in memory. The men involved were stepbrothers and former classmates of hers, Nathaniel (Nate) and Tristan, both of whom were nerdy geeks in grade school who truly appreciated that the stunningly beautiful Liv was willing to befriend them, but who have certainly worked on becoming major hunks and billionaires since then, as Liv soon learns when Nate approaches from behind her lounge chair, tells her his penis is more than adequate, and she soon learns that he and Tristan are the owners of that uber-yacht.
Liv has been contemplating her career and is planning to give up acting for several years to pursue another dream, becoming a recording artist by joining an existing band as their lead singer and moving to New York, which will make it only a short hop to London, across the pond, where the stepbrothers' business headquarters are located. These three have somehow managed to stay in touch occasionally during the ensuing five years since their one-night menage. What she doesn't know is that they've never forgotten their night with her either and are considering moving their headquarters to San Francisco, primarily to be near her. The main emphasis of this novel is that this trio have been ships that pass in the night, destined to only get together for short spans of time, and the only real conflict in this novel is what they plan to do with their feelings for one another after the wedding of their friends takes place, especially since Nate and Tristan will be Liv's escorts at said wedding.
I wish that Ms. Fox had fleshed out (no pun intended) this story and written a full-length novel, one that gave us more backstory, especially about how Nate and Tristan even became stepbrothers, and how and when they discovered their mutual interest in menage. Liv too required more of a backstory than we were given. She doesn't seem to have a single flaw and has somehow managed to break into the film industry with little effort, unlike most Hollywood hopefuls--and then we learn that she discovered her love of singing (and had a remarkable voice) when she worked as a last minute fill-in for the leading actress in a Broadway musical. The solution to her vocalist dreams and choice of living arrangements almost magically presents itself out of the ether.
I understand all about the willing suspension of disbelief in fiction, but as erotic romance goes, I found that this story stretched my willingness almost to the breaking point. As I said in my review of Obsession, the fourth book in this series, Ms. Fox is a talented writer, and I just wish she'd given herself and her readers more time to really get to know, understand and care about these characters. Everything that happens with and to them in this short novel was simply too perfect and too pat. Although the books in this series can be read as standalones, I wouldn't recommend it. Had I been following this series from its inception, I might have found this story and its many characters far more interesting than I did.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
Steamy if you like that stuff in a book. highly recommend
As always thanks goes first to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.
Like the title of the book indicates I have become addicted to Calista Fox and her steamy trios. I loved how Nate and Tristen didn't start off their lives having money, unlike some in Bayfront. They worked for it and have worked hard to achieve the success they have. Even if it was at the expense and risk of losing the woman that they desired deeply. But when they come back to Bayfront they come ready to claim what they want. Liv has always been able to see past the "nerdy" aspects of Tristen and Nate to the sexy men deep inside and has wanted them always. Especially after the one night that they spent together. But Liv is getting ready to start a new chapter in her life and its going to take her away from the men she has always wanted once again. I love the fact that Nate and Tristian were willing to go wherever they needed to to be with Liv. Whether that is staying in Bayfront or going across the world, it showed so much how much they really want to make things work with her once and for all.
I gave this books 4 steamy kisses...
Happy Reading... Adri
This is the fifth book in the Bayfront Billionaires series and each book is a standalone. It is a short, sexy, story about a menage relationship and a second chance at love. Tristen, Nate and Liv grew up together and have always been good friends, although they rarely see each other because they are so busy with their careers. The three of them spent one hot night together in Paris a few years ago and when they meet again, they realize there is still a simmering attraction. They live on different continents and all have successful careers and wonder if it is possible to find a way to be together. Although this isn't my favorite book in the series, it has a fun storyline, sizzling chemistry and I enjoyed connecting with all the characters from the previous books in is series.
Quick review for a quick read. I can usually get behind short, steamy and provocative reads, and Calista Fox's fifth installment in the "Bayfront Billionaires" sets itself up in that particular vein. One could read this as a standalone novella or as a part of the series in its entirety because it features a recurring cast. I decided to pick this up because while I wasn't familiar with the rest of the series, I could simply jump into a quick steamy read and have something memorable from the experience.
I think my main issue with this title was that the conflict/sexual tension really wasn't strong enough to pull me into the story. Granted, the relationship between Liv, Nate, and Tristan was established and it was clear that they had an attraction for each other with complications to boot, but I didn't fully feel that connection. It felt too transcribed for the setup and presentation of the narrative. Sure, I understand that the sight of these men were enough to have Liv hot and bothered for history, and I understood that Nate and Tristan had a fondness for her based on their previous and current experiences, but even having that as loosely drawn backstory wasn't enough for me to fully ship them. The sensual scenes were depicted between past and present mentions, with attention to the physical details and surface details of the emotions conveyed, but lacked true fire because they were told at a distance for action/reaction. There were some sparks of humor through the narrative, but mostly hit or miss for me depending on the turn.
I don't regret reading it, but it just didn't fully immerse me in the relationships it wanted to present. I'd give Calista Fox's writing another try though just to see how her other books come across.
Overall score: 2/5 stars.
Note: I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher St. Martin's Press.
This was the first book I've read in this series and I think having not read the other books that I lost something in this book. Many characters from previous books were in this story and I felt there were parts that were assumed the reader would already know.
The book was far too short for me. While the three main characters had a back story, I felt like we either needed more time developing those characters or more time developing their past. It's nearly mentioned in passing, not fully disclosed until near the end of the story.
Another good book in the Bayfront Billionaires series. Calista Fox has a way with her words and making you fall in love with each character. There are no bad guys, just pure, unadulterated, phenomenal characters.
Addiction is the story of Liv and 2 brothers, Nathan and Tristan. They have all grownup the best of friends and well into their adult years. A drunken night in Paris turned things from friendly to feisty between the three. That one night burned in each of them and now they are reunited once more in Bayfront.
I freaking loved Liv! She was a realistic character for me. She kept her "dirty little secret" to herself and reminisced on it. She didn't immediately fall into the menage trios thing though she wanted to. She was a bit indecisive in that regard. Liv was bold without being dramatic. She knew how to have fun, but she also didn't know how to always flow with things. Liv was an awesome character for me. I love that she made sure to go after her goals and dreams in love.
Nathan is the sweet kind brother that likes to take things slowly and softly. Tristan is the blunt brother that likes things hard and fast. The two of them balanced one another out well. I admired their work ethic and how hard they went to achieve their dreams and goals. They worked from the ground up, have a successful business, travel the world and know what they really want. They are like the ideal man split in two.
The romance was amazing. The three of them fit together so perfectly. I love that there was nothing they allowed to keep them apart. They made it work for them and when they all realized they loved each other they were ready to make the moves to stay together. They were perfection.
Totally recommend this book!
Another super sexy book in this series! Loved how Olivia, Nate and Tristan finally found what they were searching for all along--love, acceptance and life lived to the fullest!
