I apologize but I was unable to get into this book so have not left any public reviews. I am removing older books from my profile and I am sorry that I was unable to read more of them. I will be more judicious in the future about which books I request and will keep up with publishing my reviews.

This was a hilarious and entertaining book. I could not put it down. It was a fun lighter read than my usual book but I'm glad I took a chance on it.

I loved Lisi Harrison’s books when I was is middle school, so I was excited that she was releasing an adult novel (especially since I’m an adult now). Unfortunately, THE DIRTY BOOK CLUB wasn’t the right fit for me.

After the beginning of this book, I wasn't sure I would like it, or that I would continue reading it.
However, as I got further into it, the depth in the story and the characters began to reveal themselves and I found myself liking these women. We all need nights with our "girlfriends" every now and then. They ground us, they remind us who we are, and how important our bonds are.

Men (or women) come and go ... but stick by your friends, you'll have them your whole life.

The characters all had stories I truly needed to encounter for personal motivation. The fun facts throughout the read were such a good touch. Thank you for showing me the power of friendship, the power of a true bond.

I thought the concept of this was amazing! A book club that gets passed to another generation? Amazing! But the book itself, eh. It was cute but dragged yay too much.

It's a book about a book club bringing women together, the women getting closer and closer, and eventually becoming more honest with each other and leaning on each other. So basically, like a real book club (mine, anyway). Predictable but good.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this book and to be an early reader via NetGalley! However, I will not be writing a review for this title at this time, as my reading preferences have since changed somewhat. In the event that I decide to review the book in the future, I will make sure to purchase a copy for myself or borrow it from a library. Once again, thank you so much for providing me with early access to this title. I truly appreciate it. Please feel free to contact me with any follow-up questions or concerns.

Fun story about girlfriends of different generations centered around a book club. Lisi Harrison's first venture into Adult Fiction is one that is successful! I would read a sequel to this book in a heartbeat.

his is a light-hearted and humorous novel.

It follows M.J. leaving her job in New York to move across country to California with her boyfriend. As soon as she settles in she meets their lively and welcoming neighbor Gloria. Days go by and soon after M.J. learns that Gloria has moved to Paris with her lifelong friends and has left behind an invitation to M.J. to attend a mysterious club.

This enigmatic meeting turns out to be the setup for a book club with other hand-picked members and thereafter all sorts of things happen, friendships develop, marriages are discussed, and the characters question their life's choices.

What attracted me to the book was the book club theme and cover. One of the things I look forward to in my life are the monthly book club meetings I attend. The members and I get together, eat, drink, laugh, talk about the month's book and update each other about our lives. We have a wonderful time and I wanted to read about other people's similar experiences in a fictional setting.

Overall, I enjoyed the book but did not love it. I felt the characters lacked some depth and the situations were too far-fetched at some points. At the same time, the novel was light-hearted and a good break from the suspenseful reads I usually indulge in.

The Dirty Book Club is not dirty. It has some interesting moments, but it is too vanilla to be even slightly disheveled, which is saying a lot for standard chick lit fare. It is too generic to make an impression and the alternating book clubs (OG and new G) do not blend seamlessly.. The Dirty Book Club would have been more intriguing if had stuck with the OG book club as their contemporary counterparts were bland, neurotic and too self absorbed to root for.
Also as a longtime resident of Southern California and San Diego County, logistically this just did not make any sense.

This was a cute book about a group of women who become unlikely friends. This book showcases women who are all in different parts of their lives. One is a at crossroad. One is facing a difficult decision and one has her life mapped out when everything changes. The book starts out with women from a different era and I loved how it intertwined with the women in the present. Back then it was unheard of women not wanting to get married. It was unheard of women to talk about sex in public. Women were supposed to act prim and proper, get married, have kids and always be happy. These are the reason why they started the book club to begin with, it was a place for them to vent their frustrations. I liked that the women in this story supported each other throughout the story. There wasn’t judgment and they offered advice and help as needed. That’s the kind of tribe I want in my life. The story was told in third person point of view but I would have liked first person better. Sometimes I did get a little confused. The ending in my opinion was a little rushed but it had a nice wrap up. This is my first time reading anything by this author and it was a good read. I will definitely read another book by this author.

Great story that delves into what motivates people and accepting what's right for you even if it goes against what the majority says you should do.

Main character MJ Stark gets invited to partake in a book club across the world after her own world seems to fall apart. This was a fun, entertaining read with likeable characters and a plot that kept moving. This would make a great read for summer days!

This was such a cute and fun book to read. I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it all in one Saturday! Between humor, friendship, and a touch of feminism, this one had it all!

This was my first by Harrison and it will most defiantly be my last. I tried to get into this book but it was not for me. That's not saying that others may not like it but it wasn't for me.

Having found myself in a reading rut I picked up THE DIRTY BOOK CLUB by Lisi Harrison with little expectation. I was pleasantly surprised. I truly enjoyed this wonderful quick read of female friendships.

The Dirty Book Club is where lifelong friendships are made, no matter the generation of woman. Two different generations of women are brought together and strengthened by the dirty book club.

A good book to me connects you to it's characters. I was invested in these woman and I would love the opportunity to do lunch with both generations of these amazing ladies.

Read this book, it is witty, it is heart-felt and it shows female friendship in the most positive light.

At this time this book was not for me. I would like to try it again at another time. Sometimes going back to a book later on helps me be in a different frame of mind.

When I think Lisi Harrison, I think of The Clique. That middle grade series was like actual crack to my 12 year old self. But in comparison to The Dirty Book Club, holy cow talk about opposites. This would probably be classified as Women's Fiction, a first for Harrison. I actually really enjoyed the story, I found the plot to be unique and the character of M.J. quite likable, while annoying at times (but arent we all?). I flew through this book and think it would make a great light beach read.

I thought that this would be fun, but the opening section about the 1960s women made me sad and not want to finish this.
