I only read 6 chapters and decided that this was not my kind of book. I should not have requested it. Sorry
I really liked the idea of this book. I found myself drawn into their stories and wanted to see what would come next. However, the dialogue was just off. Didn't always flow and felt like there were a lot of inconsistencies within the characters, for instance a child that speaks like an adult suddenly didn't know the meaning of 'easy' words at times. Things happening much faster than would ever be possible in real life.
It was a good faith based contemporary romance, but I think it could be so much more if a few of the storylines were left out and focused on a few important ones.
If looking for a sweet romance pick it up.

This story didn’t work for me, others might enjoy it. I think the religious message surpasses everything else in this book and so plot, characterization and dialogue are secondary to that goal. While I liked the characters, appreciated their struggles and their strong bonds, I felt that the dialogue was often stilted (for instance, six year old children speaking like adults) and too many important things were being presented and solved in conversation (serious problems, situations and life experiences such as child abuse or serious illness were handled in a simple talk) and the result was unrealistic.
I felt that the story was a bit over the top with so many things happening: oncologic disease (relapse), a bone marrow transplant, adoption, pregnancy, child abuse, slander, parents death and dementia, house destroyed by fire (just some examples).
I know it’s a Christian book and I’ve read and enjoyed Christian authors before, but the preachiness in this one was too much for me.
And a health professional (a nurse) who doesn’t know that a patient going through a marrow bone transplant needs to be placed in isolation after the procedure and doesn’t recognize pregnancy signs in her own body? How unrealistic is it?
