4.5 Stars! I find I either love sports romances or really don't like them at all. Thankfully, I loved this one! This series had interesting and well developed characters, chemistry and hot love scenes, a hockey plot that was well integrated into the book and on top of that a plot I could sink my teeth into!
Irresistible You is the first book in the Chicago Rebel series (I didn't read the prequel) that introduces the Chase sisters. Three sisters with different mothers but the same father who owned a hockey team. His oldest daughter, Harper has worked for her father but when he dies he gives the hockey team to all three sisters and gives them one year to take the failing team to the playoffs or the team is to be sold. Harper who has never been close to either sister is devastated but convinced she can make this happen.
Harper fires the general manager and assumes the role but it's hard to get respect as a female owner/manager in hockey let alone with two sisters as co-owners. Harper's first move is to bring in a veteran hockey player to turn her team around. This is where Remy "Jinx" DuPre comes in. He has always wanted to win the cup and this is his last chance as he plans to retire but his unwanted and unexpected trade throws all his plans out the window. Unfortunately, the Chicago team is nowhere close to the playoffs and he doesn't want anything to do with Haper and her team.
Harper and Remy's initial meeting is anything but cordial and this begins a relationship of snide comments, arguments and a ton of sexual chemistry. I really enjoyed watching this relationship develop into a friendship and then into more.
I really, really loved Remy! He was the perfect book boyfriend and did I mention Cajun? He's charming, and sweet but also a bit arrogant. Harper was the perfect match for him and she had so much depth. The more I learned about her the more I liked her and her take no prisoners attitude.
This book also introduces a lot of interesting secondary characters including both of Harper's sisters. While we get a HFN for Remy and Harper the overall plot isn't completed and I'm looking forward to how it all plays out in the next two books which will feature Harper's sisters.
A great start to a new series that's full of everything a sports romance could want - a hot, alpha hockey star, a snarky, touch heroine, an engaging plot, interesting secondary characters and just the right amount of steam!
A copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion
Kate Meader’s IRRESISTIBLE YOU is an excellent start to the Chicago Rebels series. I have been anxiously awaiting reading this book ever since I read IN SKATES TROUBLE (Chicago Rebels #.5) in the HOT ON ICE hockey anthology. I was not disappointed. I loved this book.
Three half-sisters are left a hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels. The team is in second to last place. The sisters need to turn the Rebels around. The first book focuses on the oldest daughter, Harper Chase. She has been groomed to take over the team and is disappointed when her father’s will stipulated that all three sisters are left the team and have a year to make the playoffs or lose the franchise. I love the plot. It was interesting and full of obstacles.
I already liked Harper’s character in the prequel, IN SKATES TROUBLE. I was excited to hear her story. She is a strong character that is meant to run the Rebels. She is an excellent leader and knows her hockey. She brings in veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre to motivate the team. Understandably, DuPre was not happy to be traded to a team that was in second to last place. The two butt heads but can’t deny that they are attracted to each other. Of course, Harper being Remy’s boss complicates matters. They have great chemistry and are an interesting couple.
I enjoy Kate Meader’s writing style. The story flowed well. I was not able to put down the book. There were some good life lessons in the story. I loved the scene where Remy and Harper played video games against each other. IRRESISTIBLE YOU had a great ending. I look forward to reading middle sister, Isobel Chase’s story in the next book, SO OVER YOU. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
3.5 stars.
This was a pretty good book. This is Remy and Harper's story. Harper's father owned and ran an NHL Hockey team, the Chicago Rebels. When he died, he left the team to all three of his daughters. Harper, who had been working as his right hand, was upset that she had to share control of the team. She and her sisters all had Daddy issues and also issues with each other because of his unequal treatment of them. The team has been performing horribly the past few seasons and Harper is determined to bring it around. She trades for Remy to join their team in hopes he can unite them for a playoff berth. But Remy is not happy about the trade. He wanted to finish the final season in his career in Boston and keep up the momentum he had going their with a run for the Stanley Cup. Sparks fly between them when Remy refuses to even try to play well on his new team. He blackmails Harper into promising she will trade him in the middle of the season back to Boston for him to actually start playing to his potential in the meantime. Harper reluctantly agrees. The team actually does start to come together and improve with Remy on their side. And Remy and Harper's sparks soon turn to a sizzle as they spend more time together. But Harper is reluctant to be with Remy because of the fact that she owns the team, not to mention that he will be leaving in a few months. Still, they can't stay apart and they fall for each other. Will they be able to make it work between them so they can have the happy ever after they deserve?
Overall, this was a good romance. I loved the raging Cajun that was Remy. He was so so charming, laid back and smooth. He waited to find a girlfriend or get romantically involved because he wanted to be able to retire from hockey in one more year, get married and be a stay at home dad. Swoon! Harper was a little bit harder for me to like. She was a bit of a ball buster. She also had some secrets from her past that kept her from wanting to get close to any men. I understood why she was the way she was and I did feel bad for her, but her actions definitely annoyed me. I did appreciate her few moments of vulnerability but I needed more. Remy was a little frustrating at times too in that he let Harper determine their relationship. I wanted him to be more aggressive in pursuing her and persuading her to be with him. I also wanted more resolution in the end, more firm plans for the future and a longer epilogue. Also, the third person POV is not my favorite. Still, I did enjoy this book. There were some very sweet and sexy parts. The writing was excellent and the story was interesting and unique. I am definitely looking forward to continuing the series with Harper's sisters books coming in the future.
The Chicago Rebels series is about three sisters, relatively estranged, who inherits a national hockey team from their emotionally neglectful father. Irresistible You is the first book and it is shaping up to be an addicting series. It's mostly about the women, these sisters, who obviously have daddy issues but it is ultimately their story about overcoming stereotypes especially in the testosterone fueled NHL that captivates readers. Harper, Isobel and Violet, will definitely intrigue and charm us. While Harper and Remy's burgeoning relationship has more unexpected waves to navigate but it definitely delivers on the sizzle, sweetness and real life issues that makes their romance worth reading.
Irresistible You introduces readers to the team and to Harper Chase, eldest of the three, one third owner of the Chicago Rebels aka the underdog team in the NHL. When she gets her inheritance, she starts shaping the team how she envisioned it and to ultimately get a lot of credence as a league owner. But when she recruits Remy Dupre she really gets more than she bargains for. Remy on the other hand is getting older and is ready to retire. But first he needs to win the Stanley Cup and this is his year to win it. Or so he thought. That was before he was traded off to the worst team in the league, The Chicago Rebels. Now his dream is starting to fade away because there is no way even he could get that team up and running for the cup. So he strikes a bargain with the delectable Harper, he gets to be traded to a winning team after three months and he would make sure that the Chicago Rebels will be a cohesive and united team. But sparks had been flying long before the bargain has been set and these two find themselves navigating the very murky waters of a beginning relationship. When an inkling that their relationship may come out in the open, Harper realizes she has more to lose than what she bargained for and Remy may lose the woman he loves.
Irresistible You is definitely an apt title, it is definitely an irresistible story.
Clifford Chase, hockey legend, total jerk and owner of the Rebels NHL hockey team, has died and left his 3 daughters, who are estranged half sisters, to run his team. Not without stipulations of course.
Harper Chase has lived in her father’s shadow in his business, not allowed to make any decisions. Sparks fly (and not just angry ones) when Harper goes to confront Remy DuPre, recent unwilling trade to her team.
Harper is small in stature, big on backbone. She has had to make her way in a male dominated business. She is intelligent, business savvy, stands her ground and goes after what she wants - except in love. She comes off a little cold a few times in the beginning due to past experiences, but warms up as the book progresses.
Remy is Cajun hotness. He is respectful, well mannered, charming, and funny. He is especially understanding and very patient with Harper. He never gives up even when she resists. Loved him!!!
The story did drag a bit with Harper’s angst over Remy being a player on her team. However, it didn’t keep me from rooting for her to figure it out.
This book does a great job of introducing us to all the characters in the upcoming books without it being overwhelming. There’s just enough information to be intriguing and leave me wanting more. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to the rest of this series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher.
'''You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take. - Wayne Gretzky'''
Remy DuPre, Boston's star center and the Cajun they call Jinx because he is the unluckiest guy in the NHL, isn't happy. He has been traded and his new team screws with his last chance of winning the coveted Stanley Cup. The Rebels are the league's second worst hockey team and their new owner, Harper Chase, is now interrupting his farewell bash, busting his balls and dragging him by his ears to his new home Chicago.
Harper's sole focus is to prove to herself and the world that her late father was wrong saying that a woman should never lead a hockey team. Of course, that she has to share responsibility with her two estranged sisters doesn't improve her mood. Add to that her decision to get Remy DuPre on her team might prove to have not been a good one - he doesn't live up to her expectations and she knows he does it on purpose - and she feels immense pressure in this world that is ruled by testosterone. Harper strikes a deal with the Cajun: He plays his heart out until the trading deadline comes up, then she'll let him go to whatever team he wishes to follow his goal to win the cup before he retires.
Remy and Harper got off on the wrong foot but from the start there is an undeniable sizzling attraction neither of them welcomes. But as it is with undeniable chemistry at some point something has to give and Harper enters a relationship she isn't entirely comfortable with. She is under scrutiny in this male dominated sport - she will be judged and if it becomes public knowledge that the owner of The Rebels fraternizes with a player she would lose the little ground she gained in with the acquisition of Remy DuPre.
Harper is a complicated character. Her daddy issues make you feel for her on one hand. She has a lot to prove, is determined and stubbornly focused on proving her dad wrong who didn't show her a lot of kindness and respect.
'''She had never been a prize before, only the consolation.'''
She is so starved for love and Remy is the perfect partner for her. He is affectionate and sweet and has no problem to show his feelings. It kills her that her pride stands between her and her love and this is where I got a leeeeettle bit annoyed with her. It just took a little too long for Harper to come around. She always thought she needed to do it on her own, there only was either-or and she never fought for Remy. Still, she was a strong and likable heroine and I admired her for her bite. When she found her courage and took the leap I was happy that she appreciated Remy for the wonderful, big-hearted man that he was.
"I’ve never met anyone who needs to be held and loved as much as you do, Harper. Well, it so happens that you’ve got a man here with strong arms made to keep you safe. With so much love inside him that it’s just busting to get out. It’s all for you, minou. No one else I’d rather give it to.” - Remy
If you want to meet a swoon-worthy, dreamy, charming and super-hot hero, pick this book up now. Remy is pretty much my most favorite Kate Meader-hero. He has the typical Southern charm, is very laid back but you still know he cares, shows his polite respect for women by standing when they enter a room, without fail. I loved his family and how he adored them. He was a beautiful character. I adored that he had no problems showing and voicing his feelings, he empowered Harper and made her feel special. Remy is a sensual and sweet man, smart enough to know when to push and when to let it go.
***When your happiness was someone else’s happiness, then that was love.***
The main character's banter is typical for Kate Meader - hilarious, smart and highly entertaining. The side characters, and I mean all of them, sneaked into my heart and settled there firmly. Harper's sisters are wonderful and I loved seeing their relationship improve and becoming closer. Remy's influence on the team's morale was also beautiful to see. He really made a difference and I particularly liked Bren St. James, who will be paired with one of Harper's sisters and I can't wait to get my hands on that book! They both promise to have an interesting back story as well as Harper's other sister.
With every new book Kate Meader reinforces her position as one of my favorite authors. Her combination of flawless writing, lovable characters, entertaining banter and sexy chemistry totally do it for me. Grab this if you love sport romances - I promise you'll have a good time!
Irresistible You is the first installment in The Rebels series and can be read as a standalone.
This was a fun hockey romance, my favorite of sports. It starts off with Remy being kind of a jerk, but he grew on me. He's ready to retire, and he gets traded as a last ditch attempt for Harper to save her team. Harper and her sisters were left the Rebels when their father died. When Harper meets Remy, she's kind of knocked over by his testosterone. But she has a good head for the business of running the team. There are some great interactions between Harper and her sisters. For hockey fans, you'll be excited to have a new team to root for. I chose to review this book via Netgalley.
I have read several of Kate Meader's books, which I really enjoyed so I figured I would give this new series a try. I am glad to say that I am not dissapointed. This could also be because it's a book about hockey...and sports themed books are a weakness of mine...especially hockey and baseball :P
It's hard to go wrong with HOT hockeyplayers running around with their sticks :P
Harper and het two (estranged) sisters have inherited a (losing) hockey team, the Chicago Rebels, to be precise. There are some stipulations though. The team has to win, or they will lose said team. This means that Harper and the half-sisters she doesn't really know, have to work together to turn the team around.
Harper is not about to give up though...she wants to make it work. She wants to prove herself.
Harper acquires Remy from another team in the hopes that he will help turn the team around. Remy himself however isn't too happy with the transfer. The only way he will help her (and the team) out, is if she agrees to trade him back to a better team, in a few months. Since Harper agrees, because...well what else can she do.
The chemistry between these two was off the charts right from the beginning....and it won't be denied for long. Harper has a rule about getting involved with the players and Remy is supposed to leave eventually....also she is technically his boss. But the heart (and body) wants what it wants and fighting their attraction is pointless.
I really enjoyed this one. It was funny and swoon-worthy and HOT. Remy was really awesome... I love me some Cajun men :P. I had some issues with Harper sometimes seeming a bit cold...but I also got why she was the way she was. This book can be shelved under so many different themes... opposites attract, forbidden love, sports, friends to lovers..
All in all these two were really great together and, ..did I mention.. HOT ??
The supporting characters were great and I can't wait to read more about them in the next books.
An ARC was provided to me via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
My reviews are posted on Dirty Books Obsession
This book had me smiling, laughing, melting and swooning with every turn of the page. I was hooked from the beginning. I thought there was a great pace and build throughout, as well as excellent character development as the two main characters come together. I loved the writing, and the in depth cast of characters. You've got hunky hockey players galore.
I loved Harper Chase and Remy Dupre so much. They had a nice amount of tension and angst. Great animosity and verbal sparring that turned into really hot chemistry. It was fun, playful and I could feel the want and need between the two.
Remy Dupre, is the perfect, smart ass, sexy bad boy. I loved his New Orleans drawl and the fact that he spoke French. How could a women not appreciate every thing he had to offer. He sure appreciated Harper Chase, and all she had to offer, with her beauty, luminous skin, and a mouth that could tempt a man to forget everything that was good for him.
But Harper Chase had plenty of reasons for not wanting a relationship, too much to lose as far as her reputation as a owner in the league, too busy, career focused and she would never allow another man to hurt her. But her attraction to Remy was crazy undeniable, his touch set her skin on fire, his voice was like pure warm honey in her veins and he would not leave her alone.
So what happens when Harper cant say no to Remy any longer? Will she trade him before it comes to that? You won't believe ... sorry you are going to need to read to find out how this ends. Loved it!
Received an ARC through Tasty Book Tour via NetGalley and voluntarily wrote an honest review.
This is my first Kate Meader read and it won't be my last.I'm a big fan of sports romance so you can imagine how excited I was to start this one!Another thing that was getting my attention to this story is the forbidden romance!
I really enjoyed Irresistible You, the set up was perfect ,both characters were lovable, even though I wasn't a big fan of Remy from the beginning ,plus it was fun and sexy story.
It takes a little bit to like Remy but once you learn him better you fall in love with his personality! He is sweet and super hot.Harper was also a great heroine. There is a great build up to their relationship.
Overall it was a great story,I'm excited for the next book!
Review by Amanda for Love Romance Books
I was asked by the author for an honest review.
This is not a stand alone novel. There is a larger storyline that I assume will play out over the course of more books, although the point at which Irresistible You ends is a good place to pause the story, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.
This is the first book I've read by Kate Meader but I loved her writing style. It was definitely my kind of funny. I'd recommend Irresistible You for a light, funny read (not a tear jerker).
**4 Stars**
This was my first book by Kate Meader and it wont' be my last. I loved everything about Remy and Harper's story. They didn't want to be attracted to each other, but sometimes you just can't help what happens. Watching these two both try to get what they want was comical at times and overall sexy, because they were resisting the one thing that they both wanted, each other. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and you can't help but love watching them figure out what is going on between them. Harper doesn't want to give in because he's her employee and Remy doesn't want to give in because he doesn't want to stay on the team, he wants the cup. This had to be one of my favorite hockey books of 2017. I can't wait to see what else Kate brings us in the series.
4.5 Irresistible Stars!
What an awesome start to a new series! I love a story about girl power. To see a series where women in a position of power of a male dominated sport, is a huge draw for me. The author did such a good job of creating a strong heroine in Harper and pairing her with a sexy Cajun that is powerful in his own right and made it work. I loved everything about this couple. The resistance was expected of the theme of this story and never felt overdone. Remy, his Cajun accent and sexy endearments were a real treat to experience. This had great side characters that will have you looking forward to their own books. I highly recommend this book! ARC provided by NetGalley.
Ms Meader does it again!
In Irresistible You, she returns us to Chicago, this time with a professional hockey team - The Rebels. We have family drama, team drama, and an unlikely romance between team owner and a player.
Harper is the oldest of three estranged sisters forced to work together to run the Rebels team by the terms of her father's will. Remy is player toward the end of his career and unwillingly traded to the Rebels team.
Well written and fun, Ms. Meader takes this unlikely couple and the people around them on a romantic, sexy, and emotional journey. Harper and Remy have an antagonistic beginning, but the more they are together, we see him unlock parts of her emotional life that lead to wonderful changes all around. Both characters were easy to like, but I was particularly fond of the super sexy, Cajun Remy. Harper is crustier and harder to relate to at first, but her evolution is one that makes you root for her to find her happy ending.
This is the first book in a new series, but is a complete story all on it's own. We meet Harper's sisters and they are key secondary cast members, along with the Rebels players and Remy's family, but the focus is Harper and Remy. This is definitely a series I want to read more of!
Look out Dempsey Brothers the Chase Sisters are coming in hot! What an amazing start to what is sure to be a great new series. Remy leaps off the page as a devil may care Cajun but quickly becomes the hero of our dreams! And Harper is every woman trying to make it in a male dominated field. I loved the sister dynamic as well as the dynamic between Remy and Harper. Brining her trademark whit, fast-paced fun dialogue, and steamy sexy times, Meader just keeps getting better!
This is the first book in a new series by Kate Meader and I am in love. There are so many great things going on in this book to love. Hot romance. Complicated family relationships. A woman trying to understand how to fit family in with a career. As relatable and likable as Harper is, Remy is even more so. His tough exterior makes him hot but his sensitivity and ambition is what makes him sexy. Meader has created a world I can't wait to get back to and I recommend to anyone who loves a steamy romance with two well written strong and stubborn characters.
I tried I promise I really tried but Irresistible You made it very easy for me to resist liking it at all. I am a HUGE hockey fan, hockey is life, I live in Detroit aka Hockeytown so I am not a reader who has no knowledge of what hockey is. I am tough on my hockey romances and I hold them to a very very high standard, one that Irresistible You unfortunately did not meet.
I could not stand Harper from the start, her demeanor, attitude and overall character just rubbed me wrong from the first chapter and sadly it never improved. Remy he is the only reason why I continued to read this, if it hadn’t been for Remy I would have never even finished this one. I know that sounds harsh and if you know me I try to never be harsh in my reviews but this one I sadly can’t help.
I wanted to love it, I wanted to find a new hockey romance to love, but sadly what I got was nothing close. Maybe this is an it’s me situation, maybe it is my mood but I just didn’t like this one and I wished I had.

3.5 Stars
I enjoyed Remy and Harper, overall. Their connection was steamy and you believed in the connection, and I loved the idea that as a player and owner, the relationship was just a little taboo. As with any relationship in which the connection, and the relationship itself, is against the rules, the connection is important, you have to believe that the characters would risk being discovered, that it would be worth it for them. I definitely believed this about them, and that made it fun.
But, I thought there was maybe a little too much of the focus on the taboo. The idea that Remy is a veteran player, upset at even being on the team, and that Harper is a female owner, it started to overpower the relationship just a little for me, and that was a shame as I thought the connection between them suffered a little as a result. There's a lot of build up of the connection, and then the focus seems to switch to the reason they are taboo and away from the connection, which made it a little tough to stay fully engaged with the characters.
The shift from the complete engagement with the main characters also allowed you to really start to get an idea about the secondary characters. This is the first book in the series, so there was some of the build up of the other characters, and this definitely makes you look forward to the next books in the series, as you really like all of the characters and want to see this team succeed.
I do recommend this title and I am looking forward to the other books in the series.
All right, folks. There's a plethora of hockey romances out there so what makes this one different? Answer: a little Cajun spice.
Remy or "Jinx" has his peers call him is on the brink of retirement but first he needs to do one more thing before that happens: win the Stanley Cup. And he thinks it'll happen with his current team. But a certain, newly-minted owner of the Chicago Rebels has other ideas. She trades for him to join the Rebels hoping that his work ethic and experience will fire up her team and take them from Loserville to hoisting that much sought-after piece of hardware. It looks great on paper but in real life it's going to require a great amount of effort on Harper's part to convince Remy that this is a good move. She even strikes a bargain with him without informing her half-sisters, who are the other co-owners of the Rebels, about this. While Remy may be resistant to the trade it doesn't mean he is impervious to the hotness that is his new boss, Harper Chase. The woman has a confident, don't-mess-with-me-or-I'll-knee-you-in-the-balls vibe and that only makes Remy hungry to get closer to her. As the new owner of the Rebels, Harper has much to prove in a little amount of time. Not only does she need to get her organization running smoothly again but she and her sisters have to fulfill the terms of her late father's will in order to keep control of it. Everyone from the media to the public to other organizations is looking to see them fail, Harper especially. So she won't let a little inconvenient attraction to her team's latest acquisition sideline her momentum. The boss can't mess around with one of her employees. That would be unprofessional and hurt her credibility but ...
Firstly, there's a lot of heat throughout most of this book. Remy is an imposing figure, all masculine and charm. It helps that he drops those lovely French phrases and terms of endearment regularly. I was pleasantly surprised by his backstory and what his plans are for after his retirement. His line of thinking was not something I was expecting from a pro-athlete who has it all from luxuries to women thrown at his feet. I did get a kick out of how he started to bond with his teammates. Some of them don't have quite the finesse he has but he seemed to take to his role of being a leader seriously. Secondly, I felt for Harper. Like most females in the workplace, she's in a precarious position. Meader provides plenty of Harper's backstory and examines how any woman taking on a leadership role within a company faces skepticism from her counterparts about her worthiness or effectiveness at her job. A woman has to work 10 times harder to prove her detractors wrong. I personally had reservations about her and Remy hooking up but then there wouldn't be a story if they didn't. And because their relationship is forbidden it only makes their "magic time" hotter. Let me tell you, that stroll down a New Orleans street was quite something memorable!
I had a great time reading Irresistible You. It's naughty, fun and I mentioned naughty, yes? Allow Remy to add some spice to your reading list :)
~ Bel
The book opens with the h, Harper Chase, confronting the H, Remy DuPre at his home in Boston-at Midnight. In the middle of
Harper is one of three heirs to the Chicago Rebels Hockey franchise. Harper had worked for her dad without much credit for her hard work and ability. The Rebels team had just acquired Remy in a trade in to bring the Rebels from 2nd to last place to the playoffs.
Harper has a rough task willed to her by her recently departed father. Fortunately, at the start of the book, Daddy dearest (NOT) had departed 2 weeks prior. Harper has 2 sisters by different mothers. Yeah, no, Dad wasn't monogamous.
From their first meeting throughout the book, sparks fly between Harper and Remy.
I really love how this author develops the characters. The dialogue is crisp and biting. Not sit-com or anything like that. Very witty. I'm a read word for word reader & I didn't want to miss any of the narrative, dialogue- nothing.
There are a lot of great supporting characters-including Harper's sisters, Isobel (a former professional hockey player) and Violet (young and free spirit). They were thrown together by their dad's will. He specified that each daughter had a stake in the Rebels. They had to get the team to the playoffs or the franchise would be sold. Of Remy's teammates, I especially liked Bren.
Remy is originally from New Orleans, which seemed kind of odd at first- since he plays ice hockey.
I loved Remy's Cajun expressions:
"Where y'at, mon cher?" (Remy's mom Marie says this to Remy, when asking How are you?)
"Minou" (Remy's nickname for Harper) ooh la la. Translation: Kitty (urban dictionary says: Pussy).
Harper is uptight much of the time. She's taken a lot of the work bringing the team around. The team's coach is rarely mentioned. Remy is very playful and charming. He's the only son with 4 older sisters and seven nieces.
I just love the scenes with Remy's family in New Orleans. So rock solid. So warm and loving. Harper had never known that. She may be the head of a sports team, but all the money and power couldn't top what Remy has.
Harper is determined to prove her detractors ( esp the Press) wrong.
It wasn't entirely all smooth when Remy joined the Rebels There was a lot of work to do.
I love their secret affair. Harper, especially wanted to keep it secret. The hiding from the public did go on for a long time.
I loved Remy: great cook, can sing, sexy, charming, funny , speaks a little French...sexy-I said that!
He brings the best out of Harper. She's so serious. Remy brings her food when she forgets to eat.
I enjoyed the ending, but the epilogue wasn't very far into the future! I think that Isobel's book is next.
This book reminded me of a Nora Roberts book/movie Montana Sky with 3 sisters inheriting their late father's ranch. I enjoyed this more. Ms Meader can really turn a phrase.
I received this ARC from Netgalley. Read with pleasure. 4.5 stars
