Firefighter Will MacGregor is tired of being branded not-boyfriend material. It seems he’s been on the to-do-once list of every woman in Boston. So when a gorgeous blonde bumps into him at the bar, Will’s pretty sure he knows what comes next. Still, their instant connection tells him she could be the one. Elizabeth Owen has played it safe for the past decade: raising her younger sister and working as an ER nurse. But with her thirtieth birthday looming and little sis off to college, she’s ready to let her freak flag fly. That hot guy drinking beer with the wicked grin looks like all kinds of fun. No commitment; no getting hurt. Though Elizabeth rejects Will’s invitation of a date, it turns out she’s not averse to some racy sexting and wild making out. But as their brief encounters become progressively steamier, she starts to like what lies beneath Will’s gorgeous surface…a lot. And Will is more convinced than ever they’re meant to be together—for real.
This was a quick and decent read. Will was a likable character who just wanted to find love. While I liked Elizabeth and understood where she was coming from, I didn’t like how she treated Will. Because of that, I really didn’t like their interactions. I think the author might’ve been trying a different kind of opposites attract, but it just didn’t really succeed that well for me.

This was a fun quick read that keeps you wanting more. Will is sexy and labeled as the not boyfriend type. Yet all he is looking for is something more than a one-night stand. Elizabeth has been raising her younger sister and with her going off to college she finally decides she needs to start living life and have some fun.

She meets Will in a bar and is determined its going to casual. She is in for a surprise once she finds out Will wants more than just casual. This was a fun book that had me turning the pages fast.

DNF at 30%

I've been trying to finish this book for a month now and I can't seem to get past the 30% mark no matter how much I restarted it. The premise has so much potential, yet the writing and the characters did not work for me sadly.

This is the first book in the series that I have read, but never felt that I was missing anything.

Will is the youngest in a great family. Everyone is supportive, but they are also very nosy. They want what's best for him and, because he was trying to do something positive for his fire station, he was talked in to posing for a calendar. Since he posed for the calendar, he hasn't had any issues with the ladies, however, he is looking for more than superficial – he wants what his siblings have – something real.

Elizabeth is an old soul. She has taken on so much in her short life that she feels much older too. Trying to push her younger sister to spread her wings and live at college, a luxury that Elizabeth was denied, she doesn't really know where her life is going. When she meets Will, she's not exactly sure what to make of him. Is he cocky and overconfident or the shy and sensitive man she hung out with?

This is really a journey about figuring out what truly makes you happy, learning to let go and live in the moment, and to learn to trust someone else with your secrets. It's a quick read and it's also very sweet.

I first read Jules Court a few months ago, when I read book two of this series, Enticing the Enemy. I enjoyed that book a lot, although I felt the HEA was quick and rushed. The books in this series are all novella length, and again with this one, I feel like the HEA isn’t super solid. But I really enjoy this author’s voice. Her books are fun, and super sexy with good banter that makes me smile.

Elizabeth’s parents died when she was two years into college. She dropped out to raise her ten-year old sister, and has devoted her life to keeping her happy. Now that this sister is off to college, Elizabeth faces an empty house. For the past few years she couldn’t wait to have a quiet house and a new chance at dating and going out – but now that the time is here, the prospect is scary. Out at a bar one night, she meets Will. Charming, flirty, very cute Will. They exchange numbers and a dirty text session soon follows.

Will is a firefighter but he is also a talented artist. Being “Mr. October” on a firefighter charity calendar recently, means he has received a lot of female attention, but not the kind he wants. All the women want in his pants, but they don’t want a serious relationship, something Will is craving. When he meets Elizabeth, he is smitten – but he wants to take it slow, and not straight to bed. He wants to court her and make it into something real.

Elizabeth is all over the place – she is scared to commit due to loss in her life. With her parents abrupt death and her sister leaving for college, it leaves her feeling fragile to get close to someone. Will doesn’t want to be used for his body, he wants a deeper commitment. But Elizabeth does want to use him for his body – so she does, and then freaks out and leaves. More than once. And then at the end of this short book, she decides to give it a chance and has a big turn around. I needed more time with their relationship. I’m not sure I trust that Elizabeth is truly ready to give this relationship a go – plus I feel bad for Will because I do think he was used a little and I wanted to see him enjoying this deeper relationship.

Great voice by this author – but I need more pages

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

A fun, quick read that packs quite a bit of heat. Will is a firefighter trying to have a real relationship instead of the series of one night stands that have become habit. Elizabeth is finally starting to live now that her little sister is off to college. A guy looking for a relationship and a girl looking for a one night stand? What could go wrong?

I liked that Will had a support system of meddling siblings and siblings-in-law and that Megan needed her sister but was encouraged to spread her wings. I could have used a little more of Will and Elizabeth together and more details about his art, but all in all, a fun read.

A quick entertaining sexy fun read. Will MacGregor is sexy, hot, and labeled not boyfriend material and he thinks its about time to change that. Elizabeth Owen is serious and dedicated to raising her younger sister after the death of their parents. With her sister going off to college Elizabeth thinks it's about time to get a life and have a little fun. Nothing too serious. When Will and Elizabeth first meet there's an immediate attraction but it appears their looking for different things but Will is determined to change her mind and give them a real chance. Let the fun begin!

This is a great read and if your looking for something fun, light, and sexy this one is for you. I definitely recommend it.

Tease Me Tonight by Jules Court
Hot in the City #3

Quick easy read with a HFN ending that was an entertaining way to spend the evening.

Elizabeth is ready to sow some wild oats after being responsible for her younger sister after her parents died suddenly. She wants for her sister all of the things she enjoyed and had to put on hold. She is NOT in the market for a relationship.

Will has been sowing his oats after being Mr. October on a calendar. At first it was fine but now he wants substance and a relationship and thinks that maybe Elizabeth could be the one.

Elizabeth was a tease that saw Will as a fun thing to do and didn’t feel like talking, investing or anything else. Will takes things easy and almost expects her to fall in line. I think they could be good together as a couple but didn’t really see that both were on the same page most of the time and didn’t understand why the ending happened as it did. This is my first book by this author. I liked both Will and Elizabeth but think Elizabeth might have needed a few more men before meeting Will and Will might have been better off with someone at the same place in life…then again…maybe he liked the challenge?

Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Review by Amanda for Love Romance Books Blog

I was asked by the author for honest review.

Tease Me Tonight was funny, cute and really short. I haven't read any of the other books in the Hot in the City series, but I'm interested in reading them now. This could also be read as a stand alone novel. My only complaint is that it seemed to wrap up relatively quickly and I feel like there could have been more to the story.

this novella finds er nurse elizabeth owen getting all tangled up with easygoing firefighter, will macgregor. elizabeth isn't really looking for a relationship. orphaned just before she was set to go to college, she instead stuck around and raised her little sister. now experiencing a sort of empty nest, the last thing elizabeth wants in tease me tonight is anything serious.

who can blame her for wanting to be young or play the field? except willis one of those rare guys actively looking for the one. he wants to settle down. he's seen his parents' enduring love and marriage his whole life, and he wants that for himself. and when he connects with elizabeth he really believes she might be it.

just his luck that the one girl in boston not looking for a relationship is the one he happens to be interested in. the thing is things have always come easily to will. but if he really wants something with elizabeth he is going to have to fight for it. this is a novella so things move at a pretty fast clip, but the story here is enjoyable and satisfying.

This was a book I requested because I liked the cover. Overall, it was a pretty decent read and I liked it enough to want to check out some of Jules Court’s other books. There wasn’t anything particularly spectacular about the love story between Will and Elizabeth, though I do think it had the potential to be a stronger romance had the book been a bit longer, but I wouldn’t say that I didn’t enjoy the book either. I found Elizabeth to be a bit frustrating at times. She’s very hell-bent on not wanting more than a fling, and in the process she pushes Will away a lot. I think I would have liked the book a little better if she got over her push-and-pull attitude a little sooner. I liked Will, though again, I can’t say he was exactly memorable. It was refreshing to have a male character who only wanted women in his bed. He was actually interested in building a relationship and to find love. I liked the secondary characters here, especially Will’s siblings and their partners. I might have to go back and read their books. I did feel like the story wrapped up a little too soon, which took away from some of my enjoyment of the story. All in all, this was a good read!

I really enjoyed this story. It is book 3 in a series but I have not read the other two books and I was not lost at all. This book was kinda different than I am used to. Will is our hero, he is a hot firefighter and the youngest in his family. No one really takes him seriously and women just see him as a stud. But he wants someone who wants him for more.

He meets Elizabeth at bar. She is a nurse who became a nurse when she became guardian at 18 of her sister. She has a sexless life and she is finally free as her sister is in college. So when she meets Will, he wants a relationship and she was fun and no comittments.

It definitely was a fun story with a very different storyline. To some degree I felt Will fell to hard and too fast. On the other hand Elizabeth is finally free but she has no clue what to do with her freedom. It was very different and original storyline and I really enjoyed it.
