Dallas is the goaltender for his professional hockey team, while practicing with fellow teammates and friends he comes up against someone who actually gets a puck past him. What he doesn't realize is that the person is a girl, who is also the sister of one of his teammates. Unfortunately for him, his teammate doesn't like him and Dallas has to keep his relationship a secret in the beginning.

This book was a great read. It is also part of a series but could be read as a standalone.

Easton loved his life ice hockey was his passion but he loved his single life
The more woman he had the better he loved his bachelor ways.
He loved it so much he signed up to appear on a dating reality show rich and single he couldn't wait

Callie loved her brothers never missing a hockey game she loved to show her support going to her first after party she never though she would be helping the one and only bad boy Easton

As time passes and the more time they see each other will they be able to fight there feelings for each other or will fate step in and stop them.

This book was just okay for me. I did like the first one in the series a little more and so I was excited to read this one. But it just fell flat. and it was VERY predictable.

Dallas Easton was the best. The only problem was he knew he was the best and let nothing stand in his way from getting what he wants. After a practice session someone scores twice on him. Two goals were inconceivable as he took it in his hands to stop them anyway possible. The only problem it was a girl that captivated him with a single glance. Callie Davis was everything he never knew he wanted and everything he needed.

Not having read any of this author's previous books, I was pleasantly surprised at the depth, warmth, and personality Ms Dover has projected into her characters. I can't remember having read a sports story that evoked as many emotions as this one did.

I can honestly say that I had so much fun reading Dallas and Callie's story. There were many times I went from an intense, hearts stopping emotional response to laughing in a matter of sentences. There were numerous times that Dallas made me laugh out loud. The antics of the players were hilarious as well as emotionally evoking. The game action was gripping and believable, the locker room turmoil was intense with so much more action thrown in outside of the rink.

I could not put the book down and read it in one sitting. I truly hope that there is another book after this one that gives Maddox and Lacey a chance at their own HEA.

This ARC book was a complimentary copy provided by the Publisher and Netgally, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Good read, love stories where the heroine can hang with the boys without becoming one of the boys. Dallas was a good alpha male, he was tough with the boys but a big softie with Callie and she knew how to keep him in his place. The story was well written making it a very enjoyable read.

Wow, I loved the story even though I was very often tempted to kick Dallas' behind.
I get it that hockey is tough and aggressive and so on, really, but seriously, this guy has some problems - and he'd do well with some anger management classes. Apart from his agressive behaviour I loved to see him fight for Callie's love.

Both of them are very honest in their reactions and I really like the fact that they don't play games. Dallas makes mistakes but once he has decided on a course, he stays true to it. Reading about his interactions with kids and, of course, with Callie, goes a long way to redeem him in my eyes. The chemistry between the Callie and Dallas is great, you can feel that she falls for him - even though it's the last thing she really wants.
You see, it's not just that he behaves like a neanderthal when she meets him, nope, that just tops it off but the fact that her brother hates him, well, that doesn't make it easy for him to win her and convince her that he could be the one.
Will he be stubborn and persistent enough to get Callie to go on a date with him?

I laughed a lot and I liked the characters on the whole but I must admit that Dallas' behaviour, blowing up the way he does as often as he does, left me a bit at a loss because I wouldn't want any friend of mine date someone that volatile. Dallas and Callie together are very sweet and I don't think that he would hurt her but...well.
All in all I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm definitely looking forward to the other books in the series.

Slow and predictable, but otherwise enjoyable read

Blocked is a Hockey Themed Romance and overall an enjoyable read. The story was somewhat predictable (bad boy hockey player woos the sweet girl), however, I still enjoyed it. It was a nice fun read with a minimal angst and drama and a great way to lose yourself for a couple of hours. This story certainly has the feel good factor.

Well after a good game and win they used to play "Another One Bites The Dust" and I feel that is appropriate here for Dallas Eaton because he won Callie Davis and his single life bit the dust. Boy did she ever score on him and in him over! Loved this story of protective brothers, locker room angst and love finding it's place amongst the one most likely to fall and the one most likely not to be able to trust a playboy.

So many scenes were just simply adorable and romantic or tough and sexy. Love L.P. Dover's writing and this series is a score!

Can't wait for the next one!

Dallas and Callie start out on the right foot in this story and quickly captured my heart. I loved the lengths that Dallas went to earn Callie's trust and show that he was finally serious about something/someone. The interactions and angst with Callie's brothers was well done but not over the top. Sadly, even though this book had several good qualities there were a lot of things that just didn't work for me. First and foremost, the whole situation in the beginning with Dallas almost hitting Callie for messing with him on the ice was just not done well enough. Callie's brothers are the ones that brought her out on the ice and there was no way that Dallas could have known it was a girl under all the pads and jersey. Then she starts throwing cheap shots at him and the brothers didn't think that Dallas was going to react?!?! Then when he DOES finally have enough of her games he trips her and goes to hit her but realizes it is a girl and DOESN'T hit her but the brothers still freak out and make it seem like he is some woman abuser that Callie needs protection from. The brothers are the ones who put her in a bad position to begin with and then are mad that she was almost in danger??? Things did pick up after that and I enjoyed the play between Dallas and Callie and watching their chemistry take over. I would have liked for there to be more angst int his book. Things just kind of go on in a hum drum kind of way for a while when you can clearly see what is going to happen to break these two up. It was so glaringly obvious that I started to lose interest knowing what was inevitably coming. I enjoyed the push and pull of Dallas trying to get Callie back at the end but then once he does win her back there are several more chapters at the end of the book that were just not needed at all. It was just kind of character filler and then that was it. We didn't need any of that and it kind of took away from the ending of the book. Overall, not my favorite by this author but had a few redeeming qualities thrown in.

Hmm. Okay, it's a romance: sporty (jock) who sleeps around, falls instantly for a woman and he changes his ways completely. I like books like that, but this one just didn't ring well.

He gets angry very quickly, but apparently that's because hockey players do that.

He agrees to do a reality show where he has to pick 1 woman out of 10, as though he's shopping, and thinks he's the luckiest guy on earth.

At their first meting she digs glass out of his head - he's been fighting the boyfriend of the woman he was about to have sex with; I do believe he's fully exposed.
At their second meeting he tries to punch her in the face (one gets angry playing hockey, apparently).

She's 26 years old and living with her brothers (nothing wrong with that) but she has to tell them where she is: 'I was going to have a hell of a time explaining where I was to my brothers.'

She makes him do 'things' (tests him) to prove himself and convince her he has changed his ways, except I couldn't see how the tests she gave him proved anything of the sort.

It was cute, but with a lot of silly situations.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the interaction between Callie and Dallas. Can't wait to read the next in the series. Hope it's with Lucy and Maddox!

I enjoyed this book and loved the character Callie. Dallas is a hot shot hockey player that is all about the party and fast women when he meets Callie, a very serious nurse who doesn't have time for Dallas's games and nonsense. However, Dallas is smitten and doesn't want to let her get away. What follows is a fun contemporary romance that fans of the genre will love.

For me, the novel started slowly and with over the top antics that didn't feel authentic to me. Sadly, they probably are very authentic in some circles. By the half way point, I was engrossed and invested in the story and couldn't wait to see how it would turn out. While this is the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last.
