Lots to like about this sexy hockey romance. Dallas is the typical playboy after anything with a pulse, until an angel saves him. Callie, with three rough housing brothers, can hold her own the ice and the ER. We get all the cocky attitude, angst, and large gestures of love possible but very little reality. There's a bit of it that's not realistic for hockey or the tv show that gets talked about, reality amid playoffs? Besides that the story is fun, with likable characters and a glimpse at the next team member in the series. It's unnecessary to read the first, but Kellan's story is fun too. My copy was given through Netgalley and my review written voluntarily.
I absolutely am in love with this book!! I'm always a fan of the change for you trope and this one was very well written! Dallas Easton is a cocky goaltender for the NHL and current champions of the Stanley Cup. Hunky and built, he can have any puck bunny he wants. When a little practice session goes awry and a player gets the best of Dallas, he tries to take the dude down. Only it wasn't a dude! It was Callie Davis, a teammate's sister, and clearly the hottest girl he'd ever seen! He makes it his mission to go after and get this girl no matter what!
Callie Davis is a ER nurse and lives with her hockey playing brothers. In order to be closer to them, she plays hockey and can hold her own on the ice! When bad boy Dallas makes it known that Callie is on his radar, she makes him jump hoops in order to get a date! Only Dallas is all to eager to comply! Callie's defenses are breaking down little by little! Gosh does he have to be so gorgeous....
The way that L.P. Dover writes this, Dallas is changing his bad boy ways and he doesn't even realize it. He's not going to the bars with the guys after games, he's not getting caught up in the crap of the puck bunnies-mostly because he just doesn't want to. He would rather video chat with Callie. He's got a reputation and Callie's brothers are quick to make her aware they would take him out! It doesn't help that Dallas' agent thinks Callie is bad for his career! He meddles something awful just to pad his bottom line-despicable!
Overall, Blocked can be read as a standalone, although you will get characters from other books making a showing. I loved Callie and Dallas together and their chemistry is smoking hot! I loved all the hockey scenes and the bantering with the other guys! I definitely want to get my grubby hands on the next book as I want to know more about Maddox and Lacey!!! Well done!

I really enjoyed this book! I loved Dallas. He really evolved in the book. This book embraced the idea that people can change and love can make us better people. It was a heartwarming story.
Received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.
5 STARS FOR BLOCKED!! This story was a goal shot for me, it was fast paced, sexy, fun, plenty of hotness and fantastic characters. Dallas is a hot and sexy hockey player that all the women want and he takes advantage of it. Callie is beautiful, smart and sassy woman with three brothers and one hates Dallas. I loved seeing the story be told for Dallas and Callie, I could not put this book down. L.P. Dover is one off my favorite authors, I always one click her books. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley.
This series keeps getting better. Dallas is a womanizing goalie for the NHL and when he gets himself into trouble (unknowingly) at a team party, Callie helps make sure he is ok. Callie is a nurse whose brother is a teammate of Dallas'. He shows up at the skate rink and challenge him to stop the pucks that they hit at him. He accepts, only he doesn't know that Callie is one of the people shooting pucks at him. He gets upset about the way 'he' scores on him and hits 'him'. Only problem is that it is Callie.
He attempts to apologize but she is having none of it and her brother warns him away. Dallas won me over. He has a heart of gold, but never had anything worth fighting for until Callie came into his life. Can he truly change his womanizing ways? Will her brother let them be together, if he can get her to give him a chance? What will happen when the dating show he had agreed to film becomes a thorn in his side? Will he have worked hard enough to prove that he wants only her or will he have to make a grand gesture? The hot, sexy times were well placed and there is a side story that I can't wait to find out more about.
I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
A very enjoyable read! I love it when a "player" meets their match and falls hard! And did Dallas ever fall hard! He is the typical cocky, hockey player. Callie is a strong, independent woman who doesn't take a lot of crap from anyone. Especially not from Dallas! You can only imagine the sparks! This couple is just perfect for each other. Good storyline and characters. I hope to see more from this hockey team! Very interesting secondary characters! I recommend!
Dallas Easton is one of the best goaltenders in the NHL, and he knows it. Yes he’s cocky, arrogant and the ladies love him. During a practice skate, two of his teammates make a bet that they can get 3 out of 5 pucks past him. Feeling confident, he takes them on. As two get past him and Dallas starts to get angry, he tackles the player in question only to find out it’s the sister of one of his teammates. Realizing he almost knocked down a girl, Dallas tries to make amends, but her siblings won’t let him near her. Callie Davis is like no other woman he’s ever met. He doesn’t know what it is but he needs to apologize and get to know her.
At first Callie has no desire to talk to Dallas, but he keeps proving her wrong at every turn. Sending her flowers at the hospital where she’s a nurse. Then he shows up at the hospital in the team’s mascot costume and makes the kids in the children’s ward happy. Callie can’t resist him anymore but will she regret her decision. Can he really be a changed man?
Just as everything is going so well something happens to make Callie regret her decision to trust him. Is it too late for Dallas to prove that he is innocent or will he never be able to tell her that he can’t live without her.
Fantastic book full of love, hot sex and great hockey.
This one just didn't do it for me. It was completely formulaic and had no character development at all. Insta lust/love with no reason, he's a jerk but not to her, big misunderstanding leads to 10 page heartbreak and make up, and everything ends up HEA. Maybe it's me, and maybe I'm just done with the genre/trope, but I skimmed a lot of this book, and couldn't get into it.
Who doesn’t love a romance with a sexy, playboy professional athlete who falls head over heels in love? Dallas is well known player on the ice and off, and he’s never wanted to settle down until he meets his Callie. Problem is, her brother plays on the same team as Dallas and they hate each other, and Callie's not interested in getting involved with someone she can’t trust. He’s absolutely captivated by Callie, and he sets out to woo her and prove that he can be a man worthy of her. I think he even surprises himself! He’s endearing and swoon-worthy as he pursues her and makes a concentrated effort to change his behavior. There is just something about a bad boy being tamed that is especially satisfying, and Blocked is a memorable, fun, tender and steamy romance that’s a must read.
ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
I enjoyed this book and liked the hero and the secondary characters, but the heroine was a bit disappointing. I'd like to read about the rest of the guys.

Oh boy..,,L.P. Dover is one of my one click authors because of her versatility and steam between the sheet. In her next hockey inspired book we me oh so cocky Dallas who acts as though women are a dime a dozen and why try to impress one when their will be ten more waiting in an instant. So when he gets shown up by a girl on the ice and one of the players on his teams sister who can’t stand him. One look and Dallas knows he’s in trouble because after almost punching her he knows he has to apologize not only because he was wrong but also because she’s gorgeous, sweet plus the pull he has towards her. Callie wants nothing to do with Dallas and if she keeps telling herself that she might believe it some day. Her first experience with Dallas was after a guy bashed his head in for nearly sleeping with his girlfriend even though he did know he never asked either. Callie took care of him that night so she saw first hand what he’s like and how he treats women. Dallas wants to prove her wrong and her brothers as well. So Dallas and Callie’s story definitely starts off rocky but L.P. Dover will take on an amazing love story.
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks you Netgally for letting me read and review.
A little more hockey action then the first and a whole lot of heat. Callie and Dallas were combustible but I loved that Callie made him work for it. I love a good build up with a cute romantic story. This was a sexy fun read. I loved the banter and build up and of course the story on the ice. I love me some sexy hockey players. Leslie has me so intrigued with Lacey and Maddox’s story I can’t wait for more of this series.
4.5 Stars
Blocked is book 2 in the Breakaway Series and it’s a series that is getting better with each book, I love reading about a different player in every book but I also love that we get little snippets from the other players and I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
Dallas Easton is the best goalkeeper in the league and he is used to puck bunnies falling at his feet so what happens when he falls for Callie Davis a woman who is not only a team players sister, she is also one of the few woman around who can cut him down to size.
Callie Davis grew up around Hockey her brothers ate involved in one form or another and this Sassy nurse knows how she should be treated and that’s not a notch on someone’s bedpost.....
This book is a fun read, the banter is perfect and the chemistry is sizzling, the characters all have depth and are very likeable. Looking forward to the next in the Breakaway Series

This book was gifted to me for a voluntary review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions!
Blocked is......BRILLIANT!!!
What's not to like about a bad boy hockey player?? Dallas Easton is fast on the ice and goes threw woman like a player. That is until he meets Callie Davis. Can Callie make him change his bad boy ways? Pick up this book and see how it all goes down. You won't be disappointed!!
Where do I begin.. this was my first read by this author and the blurb drew me in. I love hockey romance and was looking for new authors. This fell off the mark though .. First let me start with what I liked and the only reason it gets 3 stars is because it did have a fun story and I cant give 2.5. I wish the author left out the hockey as she clearly didn't do any research as to what the lingo is for hockey or how professional athletes regiment themselves or what a hockey schedule is remotely like
Dallas Easton is the hot shot playboy goalie who has a bad rep, Callie Davis is the sister of his teammate Justin. Both are quite attracted to each other but Callie knows his rep and doesn't want to fall victim to it so she stays away. Dallas wants to prove he is not as bad as they believe he is. So he will do whatever he can to show Callie that. When he falters will Callie be able to trust it was just an honest mistake or will she run away? All this made for a good story and I did enjoy that part and the side characters.. Actually want to read Maddox's story
Now the hockey part.. they are called periods not intervals, the goalie is never an assistant captain unless a very special circumstance, if you fight you will get a penalty especially the extent of the fight in the book, you do take shoot slaps during practice you take slap shots, the dont party after every single game to the extent they do in this book, they font just play home 1 night a weekend and get rest off weekend off, they don't stop practice the week after regular season before playoffs, the championship is more than one game., etc. etc.. This dropped the rating down from a 4 star to what really is a 2.5 star book
3.5 Stars!
This is the second book in the Breakaway series, but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first one and had no problems understanding the storyline.
This story follows Hockey Player, Dallas Easton and nurse Callie Davis.
The way they meet is kinda unique. She helps him and from that point on, he calls her, angel. Which I totally loved.
He can't get her out of his mind and wants to thank her for saving him. Another surprise encounter between the pair leads to misunderstandings and he feels the need to apologize. But Callie isn't haven't it and wants nothing to do with him.
His genuine passion to prove himself and desire to become the man Callie deserves, was endearing and made this novel for me.
There were some aspects I found to be a bit over the top and not quite believable. But it didn't keep me from enjoying their story.
This was a fun, light-hearted read, if that's something you enjoy, you should definitely check it out!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Netgalley.
Writing style was good, editing was very good. However, for me, the characters were just juvenile. Or maybe it's just I can't stand when the female "giggles" all the time. Someone else find this very entertaining, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Sorry.
An imperfect romance, two very different people and one HEA that you won’t want to miss.
Dallas Easton is delighted with his fame and what it gets him…ladies and attention.
Callie Davis is a giver. She cares deeply for those around her and does what she can for those she loves.
When Callie gets the best of Dallas on the ice he comes at her with a vengeance not recognizing she is a woman under the hockey equipment. When he realizes it a hot and sexy siren on skates under all that padding he is set on making amends…which Callie is not too keen on letting him off the hook.
Fun, flirting and sometimes aggravating, Blocked is the kind of romance you sit back and watch the sparks fly.

I love, love, LOVE this book!
BLOCKED has everything you want in a romance. A cocky hero, a strong heroine and an amazingly fast-paced story full of excitement, passion and lots of good feels! I lost sleep over Dallas and Callie’s story because I just couldn’t put the book down!
I also loved the thrill of the hockey season and everything that comes along with it. The exciting games, the fights, the victories and the descriptions! I never wanted the story to end!
Dallas and Callie are amazing together. Their chemistry is off the charts and I absolutely loved Callie. Dallas was used to getting everything he wants, but Callie wasn’t going to be one of them. She stuck to her guns and demanded the treatment she deserved. I want to be Callie!
The secondary characters are also brilliant! Callie’s overprotective brothers are completely overbearing and totally lovable! Everything about this book is wonderful! I can’t wait for the next one!
L.P. Dover, you have a new fan in me!
