I got this after reading Roni Loren and she recommended it. It was an enjoyable read. It’s erotic fantasy romance. It was well written and steamy.
I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
I wasn’t expecting this book to be spicy when I started reading it. I kind of went in blindly. Needless to say this book was not for me. I get reading spicy books, I like reading books with some spice but some times it’s too much and that’s how I felt with this one.
Fantastic book! So erotic and steamy it was a couldn't put down book! I enjoyed every second of it, it was so erotic and yet had a really good story too(not always the case). I can't wait to read more by Tiffany Reisz!
The red by Tiffany Reisz.
The Godwicks book 1.
Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red.Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year. The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting...but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red...
A brilliant read. I loved Monas character. I loved the cover. It was different. Hope to read more by this author. 5*.
As soon as i saw this cover i knew i wanted to read. I was so intrigued the red dress draping down the figure of the model. This is the first book i have read by tiffany and wasn't disappointed. Well reasearched and written with a book i did not expect it to go the way it did. An amazing erotic fantasy.
This started out so interesting and fantasy-like and fun. The setup is completely ridiculous and I loved it. A woman on the cusp of losing her mother’s legacy makes a deal with a handsome devil. He’s willing to pay her debts (and then some) for the ownership of her body once a month or so. No boundaries, no safe words, no complaints, and anything he wants goes. Sounds good to me but somewhere along the line it started to lose me and I think I can safely blame it on the fact that we learn little but the shallowest of details about the two main characters and there is very little relationship growth and also because I’ve read too many Black Lace novels in my past and nothing here was exceptionally shocking to me. This is not a romance and I wasn’t expecting an in-depth love story or anything like that but I would’ve been less bored in the latter half if there were a wee bit more of something outside of the sexual encounters, maybe some fun, witty banter perhaps? Yeah, that would’ve gone a long way to hold my attention better. But maybe I ask for too much. I also felt weirdly distanced from the characters. They seemed a little stiff (don’t even @ me because I say what I say, haha) and formal.
I also have to say, I loved this dude's honesty. I mean, really:
“You won’t do anything perverse to me?
I’ll do everything perverse to you.”
Anyhow, everyone else seems to adore this one so don’t listen to my grouchery. Go and read it for yourself. You may love and adore it. Glass bottle, riding crop, minotaur and all!
I’d give the first half a 4, the second half closer to a 2 so I suppose I’m giving it a 3. Don’t make me do the math.
This was an interesting and sexy read. It was the first book I've read by Tiffany Reisz and I found myself really enjoying her writing and style.
My first book by Tiffany Reisz & definitely won’t be my last! I couldn’t put down The Red. I won’t spoil the story except to say read it!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
This book ist not what I expected. I expected a sweet lovestory, but after the first f...scenes I almost put it down. But I was curious how the story would develop and I read it until the end.
It was not bad, but it wasn´t my book also.
I did not like all of the erotic scenes, some of them were perverted. But the twist at the end was really good and nothing like I expected the book to end.
I was really not the biggest of this book. I tried so hard to get into it but I just could not. I felt like the characters were hard to connect to and the story was just not that appealing to me.
If you're looking for a red hot scorching read, look no further than The Red by Tiffany Reisz. This book is full-fledged erotica and not for the timid. It's also quite kinky and strays very far from anything resembling shades of dismal hues. Mona's passion extends way beyond her passion for art and her late mother's gallery. What makes The Red really shine is the development of the relationship between Mona and "the stranger" who intends to save the galley. Plus the descriptions of all the paintings will have you running to your nearest art museum and fantasizing over the paintings mentioned in the book and letting your imagination run wild over those that catch your eye. 5/5 Stars
This is one Tiffany Reisz book that I didn't quite like. It had an interesting plot but I wasn't hooked from page one. I didn't really care too much for the characters or what was happening.
Sadly I had issues getting into this book. I tried. I normally am a fan of this author.
Thanks Netgalley for the Arc.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author, for an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, I have tried reading this book on 2 separate occasions and during this 2nd attempt, I have only managed to make it halfway through so I'd rather stop here and state that this book just wasn't for me.
erotic, and kinky if that is what you are looking for, interesting, just not my every day read, but great if you are looking for a good sex read
Art? Check.
Mystery? Check.
Sexiness? Check.
A sexy jaunt through historical artwork while remaining true to her writing. The Red is a book that isn't easily categorized as it encompasses several different genres. And I say that because there's a bit of mystery mixed in with the erotica that Tiffany Reisz is so great at writing.
A book that doesn't reside in her Original Sinners world, but that doesn't make it any less amazing. Indecent proposal turns into HOLY MOLY MOTHER OF ALL THINGS SMUTTY! This is a well written story and one you want to add to your shelf.
This was a DNF for me. I just didn't connect with the characters on a level to keep reading, I hope that other will try this book and love it.
Did not finish . Not my style. Appreciate the opportunity.
I attempted to read and could not make it past the first 20 pages.
While I definitely enjoyed my experience reading this book, there are some issues with pacing and character development in the middle that left me wanting just a bit more.
