This was the first Eden Finely book I'd ever read and I remember going into it with high hopes. But in the end this book just wasn't for me. I wasn't a fan with how this started out...opening in present, history mentioned....then flashing back to past to show how they got to point at start of book. And there was so much unnecessary angst! Along with too much dating of other people. This book was a nope for me but I'm glad I kept reading this author as her newer reads have all be aces!

3.5. First off, I will admit I haven't read the rest of the series and have no intention of doing so - though I will read Eden Finley's other MM books.

There were many things that should have made this a 4 star read for me. One of which is that, while it's a romance and a fairly easy read, it's written with the added layer of depth in character exploration I prefer. It's also a slow burn, which I usually love ... and that may be the problem right there. It took so long for them to reach their moment of true togetherness. Garrett hurt Blair over and over by running away from himself, his feelings, and his lover.. If I hadn't liked these men I would have thrown my phone across the room. I wanted to hug him and bitch-slap him at the same time! And moving to another state and having an actual relationship with someone else?! Garrett's nickname shouldn't have been manwhore; it should have been asshole. But then Blair balanced it out by blowing his friendship with Caity out of the water in response... I guess these guys truly deserved each other. And that right there tells you that Finley was doing at least something right, because even with these kinds of shenanigans, which would have sunk the book irreparably for me with a less skilled author, I still liked these meat heads. Admittedly, I did skip through some of the part after Garrett moved, but on the whole I enjoyed this!

This was an OK read, though I did get confused occasionally on which characters were narrating the story.

Thoroughly enjoy able romance spanning many years. Definitely loved seeing Blair and Garrett connect, become friends and finally get their hea. Coming to terms with what and who makes you truly happy and living your authentic life, well it's not an easy road and fighting for it is not always an easy decision. Eden Finley did an excellent job of telling this story, and I'm definitely intrigued by the other characters in the series.

In all honesty, I enjoyed this far more than I thought I was going to. I haven't read any of the rest of the series so I had no idea what to expect, but it can be read without having read the books in the series before this. Couples from the previous three books are featured but you certainly don't need to know their stories in order to understand where Blair and Garrett's story is going.

One Night With Rhodes is a sexy, slow burn novel about discovering yourself, your sexuality, and nothing gets me quite like a will-they-won’t-they narrative.

What I liked most about the story was that the title may have been “One Night” and, sure it was one night that changed everything between Blair and Garrett, but it’s actually a slow, slow, sloooow burn romance that spans for six years and encompasses everything from the MC’s discovering their sexualities, to coming out. Their relationship stops and starts, but the story never does. It’s a continuous flow of yearning and learning that eventually leads to a beautiful relationship.

Blair is a bisexual character, which was fantastic to see some bi rep for once, though he’s not completely comfortable with his sexuality. He comes out to his friends, but their refusal to acknowledge his sexuality basically puts him right back in the closet which is a gross trope that needs to die. I feel like the book could definitely have done without the bi erasure and I think it’s important for authors to note that just because you drop a scene where all the secondary characters gather around a table and make jokes about how “they get it, he’s bi. We don’t have to talk about it” in reference the MC’s coming out, doesn’t make any of the biphobia okay. It’s harmful to readers.

I won’t lie, at times I had to flip back to the start of chapters because I was fairly confused about who’s part I was reading, but when I finally got into the swing of things I really did enjoy the dynamic and the chemistry between Garrett and Blair and I was glad that there were quite a few issues addressed in regard to coming out.

I’m not 100% sure I’d read another of Eden Finley’s books, but I did enjoy this one and I’d like to thank Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with an ARC.

I thought this might be a quick read, but it was not. This story follows an on again off again relationship between two men, who have know each other for years. Blair is out to his friends and family and Garrett is not. The two go back and forth for 5 years before they finally figure it out. They were a bit exhausting but I'm glad that I stuck with it.

One Night with Rhodes is the Fourth book in the One Night series by author Eden Finley. I did not read the previous books and I was not lost reading this story at all. I really love Ms. Finley's fast paced writing style. I feel really super invested in the characters. I loved the over all story arc as well.
Blair and Garrett have a super long complicated history together. Blair is out of the closet. He wants to be himself. He is getting tired of Garrett and his in his life out of his life policy. He wants someone who wants to be with him.
Garrett is confused. He doesn't know what to make of having gay feelings for Blair.
But when they chips are down they always end up together. But can they make that work?
Over all great story with a great pace to it too. I liked both characters and was really happy with how the ending of this book went. Highly recommend for anyone who is a true romantic.

I really liked the storyline and the characters. I liked that they had this secret relationship. It was really hard to figure out when each section of the story was taking place and how much time had passed. Plus, since I wasn't familiar with the other side characters stories, they were sometimes hard to follow. In general, I liked this book and I would read more from this author.

There are definite parts of the book that were enoyable. I found the time jumps made it difficult to connect to the story. Both MC were likable and definitely had chemistry. The dialouge was engaging and I enjoyed the banter. If having the MC only involved with each other is a requirement, it will be an issue for those readers. It's a fun ride if you can get past the timeline.

This is a coming to terms with oneself type of story. Garret and Blaire are coming to terms with their sexuality and being in a relationship with each other. This is one of those stories that you just want to jump in.

This is a very character driven story and I think it works really well. I love how real the relationships in this story read. I have read a lot of M/M romances and most of the time it has a lot of insta-attraction/lust that turns into love in like two chapters. This one unfolds slowly while the characters come to understand their feelings. This isn’t the perfect relationship by any means and they have their ups and downs but that’s what makes the story so relatable.

If you are looking for a good LGBTQ+ story or if you have never read one before then this is a good one to start with.

I actually almost skipped this one, I think mainly because I hadn't read the other books in the series. Then, one of my fellow bloggers gave One Night with Rhodes such a great review I couldn't resist. ;)

Since I haven't read the rest of the books in the One Night series, I'm not sure how the earlier books played out. The title and description may elude to 'one night' but this book covered a lot more than that. It was actually made up of many 'one nights'. It sounds kind of confusing, I know, but once you read the book, it will make total sense.

The thing that struck me most about One Night with Rhodes was the patience and caring that Blair expressed for Garrett. He was there for him, even when he knew that it would hurt him to walk away. He did his best to protect his heart and still keep Garrett from crumbling and hurting himself. Blair was determined to help Garrett find himself and come out healthy and whole in the process. I also loved their friends and family. Even though they were totally clueless when it came to Blair's orientation, they still cared.

One Night with Rhodes also had a slightly unique format that I kinda liked. The book opened and closed with pretty much the same scene, but a lot happened in between, which meant that most of the book was set in the past. It gave the story a slightly different perspective.

I also have to mention that even though this is the 4th book in the One Night series, it can easily be a stand alone. Characters from the previous books are a huge part of Garrett and Blair's story, but there is a lot of back story in One Night with Rhodes that help keep readers up to speed. That doesn't mean that I'm not curious about those first 3 books. It also doesn't mean that I'm not seriously thinking about continuing the series. The next couple has definitely peaked my curiosity ;)

One Night with Rhodes is a heartfelt, sexy journey two men take from just friends to lovers. It spans years, literally years, and starts off with Blair and Garrett as just being friends. More accurately, Blair is Garrett's younger brother, Hunter's best friend. Blair is bisexual and had recently come out to all his friends. Garrett is so far in the closet no one even knows he's there. Garrett has a reputation as being a huge manwhore so no one's more surprised than Blair when Garrett kisses him one night when Blair shows up at Garrett's place looking for Hunter, in need of some support and comfort after his latest breakup.

But, their journey will end up being a long, bumpy one that spans years of pain and confusion for both men. Garrett is struggling with his desires, and with the idea of coming out, so he and Blair indulge in hookups and casual but exclusive sex for years, but something always manages to break them up. Something being Garrett's unwillingness to come to terms with his sexuality and come out to the people who love him most - his family and friends. How Blair puts up with Garrett's wishy washy, hot and cold attitude for so long is just insane. There is no way I would have been as patient as Blair was, but Blair is quite possibly a saint and was always in love with Garrett, so I guess that's how he was able to do it.

I like One Night with Rhodes, but it bogged down a little in the middle, and Blair and Garrett spent too many years apart for my tastes. I wish Garrett could have gotten his s*** together much sooner, but hey, at least they ended up together and in love.

This type of book is my guilty pleasure read. I felt the struggle Garrett went through to accept himself was realistic and showed a lot of character growth. I was rooting for Blair and Garrett throughout the book and was hopeful for the HEA!

I had really high expectations from the summary of the book that made me happy and crossing my fingers to get the chance to read this novel. I just started currently reading more M/M romances and want to find more to reccommend a book. I scream loudly when I gotten the email from Netgalley. I began reading it and finished it in a single sitting.
I was kinda of not content with it. I do not know how to explain it because I really enjoy it yet there are some issues to the book that I could not brush aside.

First of all, I think the writing is amazing. There nothing wrong with the writing. I love the plot and setting. I like having to see how the relationship grew from four years and see all the changes each character had to fail, accomplishment and repeat. I was very pleased that the author did it well. Not alot of authors can do that. I like all the side characters. I thought the novel was chraming, brutal and great.

I love Blair. I think he just a lovely humble and charming man. Blair would do anything for anyone even if they hurt him. He was someone to lean on. He has his faults and he carries on to make something of his heart. He's kind and precious.

Secondly, Garret is not a character I enjoyed. I felt rolling my eyes and huffing a breath of annoyance any time he spoke. He hot, amazing, smart , temperment and bit of a jerk. He really needed to stop and reflect at times. I hated how he made Blair feel about himself. He just ingore Blair feelings. He even slander Blair about his sexuality. Not cool at all. He did not listen to Blair. It was like he was asking for his heart to be broken. When Garret felt inside that he attracted to males and decide to throw his card at Blair face really bother me. Garret knew how much Blair love him and he just wanted to have him warm his bed, maybe have a beer but anytime his brothers or close friends came over or where at the bar, he ran and left Blair.

Also, can I please discuss the relationship. I. do. not.like.toxic.relationships. or even keep the door close and not mention it to anyone because I feel ashamed or not sure about myself quite yet.. That is not healthy. Yes, You can feel still unsure about your sexuality or if you feel more attracted to male when you enjoyed female.. HOWEVER, What I hate the most is to have to hide a relationship for FOUR years from love one because you don't know if they will accept you or not? No. All you are doing is creating a mess and broken hearts.

Even though the issues really bother me when I was reading it, I still for certain thought this book was sexy, daring and fun.

This was the first book of the series I've read, so I didn't get the back story of all the other characters before jumping into this one. So just be aware that all the other relationships and how they all connect gets a bit confusing throughout this one at times. However, I really enjoyed this book and thought it was one of the better M/M books I've read in a while.

Blair Rhodes is a bisexual man living in Queensland and working as a production assistant at a studio. He's been more into women than men it seems, but only because his experience with men hasn't exactly been the best.

Garrett Erikson is Blair's best friend's older brother, so that means that Garrett is off limits for Blair. Not to mention Garrett is a manwhore, or so we're all led to believe. Turns out, Garrett is gay and has known since high school but has hidden it for a long time.

Garrett hooks up with Blair one night, things are explosive and then he runs away. Rinse and repeat for 5 years - seriously, most of the book was about Garrett leaving when he was spooked. Honestly, it became annoying. Blair gave and gave of himself, but Garrett was selfish and decided he'd rather live a lie than to be outed and possibly ridiculed. I know they secretly loved one another, but I felt really bad for Blair. At least he put his foot down eventually and said 'enough.'

Even though Blair is bi, he still sees mostly women and that means his mom in particular keeps thinking he's just going through a phase and will give him the grandchildren she wants once he finds the right woman. He also has an issue with his friends who haven't mentioned anything about him being bi since he came out to them, so he hides that part of himself as well.

If you can get over Garrett's behavior, then this is really a good book. It's about two people trying to find 'the one' while also trying to come to terms with who they really are. It's also about living your life the way you want and in a way that makes you happy, regardless of what other people think.

In the end, they get their HEA. The epilogue was really sweet and gave a glimpse into the next book that will also involve Garrett/Blair in a big way it seems.

The dual POV is great for this book, but all the dates kept confusing me. I found myself going back to the previous chapter to compare the dates and see how much time had passed. It's rare to read a book where the book spans a 5 year period (with some flashbacks), so it wasn't the easiest thing to keep up with.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Blair and Garrett were just hot in this book. They have known each other for quite some time, both attracted to each other, but Garrett was unwilling to take the risk. The interactions between the two kept you reading this book. The writing was very good and I will be looking for future books by this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.

One Night with Rhodes is the fourth book in the one night series by Eden Finley. I was hesitant to pick this one up, because it is the fourth book in a series that I have not read. But I am very happy that I did.

It is a story of struggle. It may have been one night that changed things between the MC's, but the story encompasses six years of ups and downs. On-agains and off-agains.

Blair Rhodes came out as bisexual to his friends because he was in a relationship with a man, only for the man to dump him a week later, so he believes his friends and parents chalked it up as a phase. But it's not... and he doesn't say otherwise. After One Night with Rhodes, he shuts him out, fear keeping him from having what he wants.

Since this is a series, most will probably read all the books...I didn't and I was able to navigate my way through fine.
3.5 stars..

Since recently, I've become a lover of all things angst. And this book had it and more. I actually really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The characters (main and secondary), the story, the writing were all things that really worked for me.

The one problem I had was that there were too many other relationships that were inserted into this book. I felt like they were overshadowing the story.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. Loved the book. It is sexy and very erotic. Garrett and Blair's relationship has so many ups and downs that it resembles a revolving door. The book is a good read and there is a HEA ending. I would recommend this book as a good read.

One Night with Rhodes by Eden Finley is Book 4 of the One Night series. It can be read as a stand-alone story, however, to really understand all the other characters you should probably read the other books first. I have not read any of the other books and while the story line made sense, there were definitely personal dynamics in the group that I didn’t really get.

To summarize, Blair is bisexual but doesn’t think his coming out went very well. His friends seemed a bit weird about it so he really doesn’t mention any of his same-sex hookups. His parents didn’t really take it all that well, either, which is an issue he has to deal with by the end of the book. He has always had a bit of a crush on Garrett but assumed he was straight. As the older brother of his best friend, he was pretty much off limits.

Garrett acts like a womanizer but is totally hiding, denying, and trying to ‘get over’ his very real desire for other guys. Blair turns up on his doorstep heartbroken and one thing leads to another and they end up naked. Garrett doesn’t deal with that very well and they have an on again off again fling for years.

So, the story basically starts and ends at the same point in time with the middle of the book being about the journey they took to get there. It is a bit meandering at times and I did find myself losing interest at times because the story spans many years.

Garrett has some serious issues about coming out of the closet. Yes, he has a good reason, which you will learn about during the meandering journey of his life. But, even before a guy he was dating suggested it, I really thought he needed some serious therapy. He gets the help he needs at the end of the book and you do get a happily ever after between him and Blair but there is a TON of angst in the middle of the story as he tries to deal with his issues.

These characters are not actually ‘together’ for most of the story. They are friends…they are lovers…they hate each other. Honestly, they bounce around quite a bit. Both characters date other people, although all the ‘other’ relationships are pretty much off page and discussed very generally. I did feel that the other relationships they were in actually took up more of the book than the actual relationship between Blair and Garrett. I would have liked to see the focus be more on their relationship, although this was a book of self-discovery I think rather than actual romance.

You will switch perspectives as you move through the story. It was nice getting both characters points of view. They both have their own emotional struggles to deal with when it comes to their sexuality and they were both given equal focus in the story.

Overall, this was a fairly good book. I think it dragged a bit and I wanted more of these characters together and maybe a little bit less angst but in general, it was a solid story.
