About a 4.5 for me! This second installment in The Fates of Betrayal was full of action, adventure, and drama, with a few comedic and absolute heated moments that left my heart racing. I love the kind of books that change settings throughout, and to go from a boarding school Anna knew nothing about to a world she had to stay ahead of... wow. The first book was a bit confusing but so cool, so I had high hopes for this.
While the beginning was hard to get into because it had been a while since I read the first book and I didn't know where everyone was at the start, I soon got into it once everyone had a turn at their POV. Told from most of the friends and people connected to each other, the story takes you on a pretty amazing ride with warring kingdoms and deception. The writing was great, almost pretty with a nice flow that gave you the medieval vibes while being in an enchanted land with differently beautiful, frightening happenings. I also enjoyed how much hotter this was. It was very surprising, more so because it helped to really accept all the sadder things the characters had to go through. A few things get revealed, but not enough to fully satisfy you. You need to know more. I certainly do! I need the third book lol
