I loved this new romantic suspense story from the Station Seventeen series.
When you pair a beautiful but impulsive and spontaneous woman with a nerdy, driven and obsessively organized man, sparks are bound to fly, particularly when she's a firefighter, he's a tech security expert for the police department and they've been assigned to identify a couple of murder/arsons that nearly went undetected by the fire marshal's office.
Kincaid always provides charming, sweet, spicy romances between characters with very strong personalities that seem to conflict nearly as often as they come together and Deep Burn is no exception, but this story offers so much more with believable, on location and background fire fighting and a look at how an arsonist/extortionist might go about conducting his business.
Don't plan anything for the next several hours if you're looking to buy this one because you won't be able to put it down.

Wow. I loved this book! Shae, honest, brassy, seemingly reckless matched up with controlled, by-the-books Capelli. This is so much more than opposites attract. These two were combustible! They brought out something special in each other and it was fantastic to watch them fall in love. And all of this happens while they work to catch a creepy murderer\arsonist. Lots of suspense, hot sexy scenes, and a beautiful love story. Seriously, I loved this book! This is a great addition to this series!

So freaking good! If you like your romance with a little or a lot of suspense and HEAT then this is the one you absolutely NEED TO READ this summer! Shae McCullough is a firefighter at Station Seventeen and, of course, she gets in trouble and has to do some time at arson investigations. This leads to her working with the Intelligence Unit at RPD and closely with James Capelli.
Shae and Capelli flash and burn together and the intensity is mesmerizing. They drive each other crazy but it is a good crazy and was so much fun watching them come to grips and learn to work together.
Even if you haven't read the other books in this series (and really why not!) don't miss this one!!!! I highly recommend it. It can be read as a standalone.

I immediately liked Shae and Capelli. She was brash without being reckless and frustrating, and he was analytical while still being personable. (I really liked Capelli!) They fit together perfectly. Throw in a diabolical bad-guy and you have a good story. It was fast paced and laced with some smoking hot romance – great combination. If I had to say anything, it would be that the ending seemed a little too easy; I was still satisfied but kept waiting for something. This is a fun read with characters that stayed with you long after the book ended.

I am in love with this series. Deep Burn begins with Station Seventeen getting called to a massive fire. Turns out this is a murder scene as well.
Our heroine is Shae McCullough, a fly by the seat, adrenaline junkie firefighter. I love that she puts her everything in, all the time. Of course, this recklessness keeps her in trouble. She is given a reprimand and sent to the arson investigation division of the police department to “push paper” until her sentence is carried out. Of course she starts digging and uncovers a series of connected fires.
Our hero, James Capelli, works for the arson department, although he is not technically a cop. He is a play by the rules kind of guy. He also has an OCD kind of personality. He remembers everything and puts it into compartments of his mind, ready to pull out when needed. He is the total opposite of Shae. I found myself smiling at the banter between the two of them. They were perfect for each other.
I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning of the book. The action was intense and the writing was tight. I could almost feel the heat of the fire and the adrenaline pumping as they rushed to put the fires out. I absolutely loved the interaction between Shae and Capelli. Their chemistry was electric. This was my absolute favorite couple in this series. The supporting characters were also well written and I am looking forward to their stories as well.
I love Ms. Kincaid’s romantic suspense books. She seamlessly blends the two genres without sacrificing anything. This book began with a fire and murder, traveled through the investigation, caught the bad guy, brought Shae and Capelli together, and captured my attention from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book, and the whole Station Seventeen series.

Shae is a feisty firefighter who loves the thrill of her job. When she goes back in for her partner when he finds a body she is suspended for not following orders and ends up in the arson division doing desk work. She starts to see a pattern in fires and ends up working with the Police department tech guru James who is hiding a major secret. He is her total opposite and looks for the logic in everything when she goes with her gut. I did enjoy the interaction between these two. As James fights his feeling for Shae, she can't quite figure out what's up. I did find the suspense was lacking a little compared to the first book, but a solid 3 1/2 star read. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series

Having read the 1st book in the Station Seventeen series, I was already familiar with Shae and Capelli, as Kincaid's use of secondary characters is one of my favorite things about all her books. And while on the surface, this looks like a classic cas of opposites attract. And in small ways, it is just that. But I think it's also a case of like meeting like.
While Shae McCullough is a self professed adrenaline junkie, James Capelli comes off as a very button-up, slightly nerdy (oh, I love me a nerdy hero!!) brainiac who keeps his very sexy thought about Shae under wraps...until they can't be contained anymore. When these two do finally get together, they're more combustible than the fires Shae fights.
Different childhoods and different traumas have help shape the pair, but underneath it all, the same energy and passion drive them both, which makes them an unlikely but perfect match. The fires may be hot, but the sex is even hotter...but fitting with the characters and their relationship. While I am not generally a fan of overly descriptive books, I love the attention to detail Ms. Kincaid uses in all her books...especially this series with its blend of firefighting and police work. Very few romantic suspense writers are on my must-read list, but she's at the top!
Great storytelling, an intense storyline and interesting characters make Deep Burn a 4.5 star read for me! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

OMG! This story deserves 10 stars!! Capelli is a tech nerd that has had a rough childhood and has learned to live life very regimented because he doesn't trust his emotions. Shea is a strong, smart, independent women who lives life by breaking the rules and going by her gut instincts. These two are total opposites but when they get together, HOLY MOLY, are they steamy! This story is full of twists and turns and will keep you glued to your seat to the very end!! Can't WAIT for the next book in this series!

A fast paced romantic suspense at it's best. Scorching sex scenes that will warm you right up. I have always loved sexy fireman, but Shae as a sexy female firefighter takes it to the next level with her "adrenaline junkie" attitude, and it gets her into trouble. She now has to has spend two weeks with arson investigator, James Capelli, tech savy nerd. They have their differences but soon find out they are the perfect match in the romance department. As they work together to find out who is starting the arson fires, many secrets come out from their pasts.
This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend this book. Plenty of romance and action, in and out of the bed. Loving this series!!!

4.5 Wowsa! What a story. Shae is a firefighter but can be a bit reckless and this time her recklessness got her into trouble and she needs to fill her punishment with the arson dept. But when the investigation leads to more she has to team up with James to get the answers. The problem is the investigation brings James’ past back to haunt him.
Kimberly Kincaid is in my top dozen favorite authors and this story is one of the reasons why. The characters are well written, the romance is high and the suspense is higher.
I would love to be friends with Shae. She seems the type that would have your back to others even if you are wrong, but she wouldn’t have a problem telling you that you are wrong either. James well dang that guy is wonderful. I enjoyed the background characters so much and can’t wait for the next in the series of Station Seventeen!!!

10 DEEP BURN STARS!!! Wow, this book was so entertaining with all the suspense, super hot sexy times and fabulous characters. Shae and James were perfect for this fantastic story of arson and murder investigation. Kimberly Kincaid is such a storyteller and sucks us readers into the book, you can't put it down until you finish it. I highly recommend this book for all readers, it is so good. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.

FANTASTIC READ!! This book is Intense, hot, and not only will it give you an adrenaline rush it will keep you on the edge of your seat on what is going happen next. I highly recommend reading this book.

Shae was such an amazing fascinating character and I loved the way she was able to get Cappelli to loosen up and trust his gut. I loved the story between the two of them and you could feel the tension pouring from the pages. The murder case kept m on my toes and I didn't know what was going to happen next and I flew through the story. I loved these two and their journey. I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces from the other books in the series and can't wait to see who is next.

I found Deep Burn has a great balance between suspense, romance and character interaction. The storyline was compelling and I really felt I was a part of this well written story easily holding my interest from beginning to end.
With series like Station Seventeen, Cross Creek and Rescue Squad, Kimberly Kincaid has become an auto print buy for me. I would definitely recommend this book

Are you ready to feel the burn? Rhetorical question because of course you are. How can you pass up hot firefighters and cops? Add in that the fact that Kimberly Kincaid has written what has quickly become my favourite book of hers in Deep Burn and you have zero excuses to pass this book up.
OMG, how I loved this book and Shae and Capelli. I was so excited to read it that I may have squealed like a tween when I got my grubby hands on it. Seriously, I have read this book more than once since I got it, know it almost word for word and I still want to go back and read it. I FREAKING LOVED IT.
I will say my love for this book is twofold. Firstly there is the love for the writing and storyline. The author does an amazing job of blending romance, hot, hot sex, humour, heart, character development and suspense and making the storyline flow but keep you hooked at the same time. You can totally get lost in the world she has created and not feel bad about it. Hell I would pack my bags and move there if I could.
My other love for this book is the characters. I am the first to say that after Skin Deep that I was fascinated by firefighter Shae McCulloch. There was just something about her that drew me in and I needed to know more. Cue the girly squealing when it was announced she was going to be the lead in this book. After reading Deep Burn, I have a serious girl crush. Shae is one of those characters that come along and you love them instantly. She is so much more than just a firefighter and we get to see what makes Shae tick and be who she is. The Starsky to Capelli’s Hutch.
“A muscle pulled tight over the line of Capelli’s jaw, and in that second, Shae realized how hard he’d been fighting for his composure. And just how badly she wanted to wreck it.”
Ooooh James Capelli is just divine, hot, dreamy, intense, nerdy and so not what you expect when you scratch the surface. If I say I have a girl crush on Shae it’s nothing compared to how much I love Capelli. Who knew that just under the surface of the uber intense cyber geek there lay a dirty talker who can certainly follow through on that talk. Lucky Shae. But he also has many complex layers that make him the man he is and the perfect Hutch to Shae’s Starsky.
Put these two together and sparks will fly. Shae and Capelli are absolutely perfect for each other. While they have enough chemistry to burn your ereader, (wait for the life affirming scene that is hotter than hot) they are also the light to each other’s dark. From their adorkably awkward first attempt at flirting at the grocery store, (so cute) to the heart-warming ending that will leave you with a big fat smile. Shae and Capelli are just undeniably right for each other.
“Do you want to tell me what you do want?” “You, Shae. I want you.” And just like that, his composure shattered.
Yes I’ve neglected the suspense side, but you really need to experience it to fully enjoy it. No spoilers from me. Sorry, not sorry. Let’s just say that the bad guy made my skin crawl and leave it at that.
I know I’ve waffled on, but it’s so hard for me to contain the love for this book, Capelli and Shae plus all the characters that make up both Station Seventeen and the Intelligence Squad. More I need more to feed my addiction. Do you hear me Kimberly Kincaid, MORE!!!!

You can never go wrong with a book by Ms Kincaid, and this one is no exception. Book 2 of her Station Seventeen series, will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Our main characters are firefighter Shae McCullough and Remington’s Intelligence Unit surveillance expert, James Capelli.
Both characters are strong, though it took me a while to like Shae. She is impulsive and when put on desk work, she hones in on her instincts, much to the dismay of James Capelli. But once they start working together to solve an arson case, the attraction becomes apparent.
The story is filled with suspense, dangerous fires, dead bodies, James’s past coming back to haunt him, too many coincidences, and of course romance.
Let’s not forget a good cast of secondary characters.
In addition to all this, it’s also a story about how our past, whether as a child or later in life, affects us to be who we are today.
Another well written story by this talented author.
I was gifted this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

When I heard that Capelli was going to be the hero in the second installment of Station 17, I had no idea what to expect. You see from the first book I pictured him as a nerdy, computer geek. Sorry, (not) it was my imagination putting specific looks to him. But clearly he is a hunk under all those brains. And OMG, Shae, what a badass firefighter she is in this book, a real rule breaker, risk taker girl.
What I enjoyed the most about this second installment of suspense and romance is that even though you knew who was being paired off, the way it occurred and the drama leading up to the relationship and the crux of the book could not be predicted. I actually put the book down at one point because it was so intense; even though I knew the heroine and the hero would survive. But I had to catch my breath after another unexpected twist.
I think the author did a phenomenal job of tying this story into Book 1 of Station 17, and playing off of the previous villain's co-conspirators.
I can easily say that Capelli is clearly my new 'geeky', hunky, book boyfriend.

Kincaid does serious research for books. Her knowledge of fires, arson, and basic firefighting is extensive. Station Seventeen is back again hunting an arsonist and murderer. Working with the police intelligence unit Shae is helping to find the suspect. She witnessed one fire and has a personal stake in the outcome. She is brassy, silly, and risky with actions and words. Her complete opposite is James Capelli, geeky brainiac with a mind made for puzzles and a seriously secretive past. The two make an odd couple but produce very intense fireworks. Great series about firefighters and is not only sexy but suspenseful, I couldn't put it away. I found the characters familiar from reading the first book but it wasn't necessary to read beforehand, this one is a standalone. I received an ARC from Netgalley, my review written voluntarily.

An absolutely fantastic book from start to finish! Fast paced, full of suspense, scorching sexy times, and a story and characters that grab your attention and hold it. Put this one on the top of the must read list.
Shae McCullough, a firefighter at station seventeen, and James Capelli, a specialist in the Elite Investigations unit for the Remington Police dept find themselves neck deep in a murder/arson investigation that could put both their lives at risk. These two seem like an odd pairing but somehow they just work on and off the case!
If you enjoy your romance with a whole lot of steam and suspense, don't miss this one! I highly recommend it.

This is a firefighter/police story that goes from 0-60 in a few pages. Two suspicious fires, two dead bodies, a female firefighter who is an adrenaline junky, and a gorgeous nerdy tech genius with some OCD, are partnered to work this case. Things get hot!
Shea McCullough is the only female firefighter at Station Seventeen. Although she does admit to a hyperactive libido, it doesn't include her brothers at the firehouse. Shea drives the fire truck and loves the power of it. They respond to an out of control fire suspected to be a meth lab, and go to work, the fire is getting stronger and her superiors call them out. But Shea disobeys to help a rookie remove a body, a dead body with his throat cut. There was already a dead body Shea found and removed. The police are called, and the investigation begins. She was surprised to find James Capelli in on the investigation. Capelli is a civilian IT specialist with the 33rd Precinct. Not disappointed, Capelli is a computer geek with sexy glasses she would like to get to know better.
James Capelli has an eidetic memory, he's a genius at all things computer related and can't function if things aren't exactly black and white. He has been watching Shea for a long time, but her hyperness and unpredictable behavior made him crazy. Working with her was going to kill him, or make him fall in love!
This story moves fast and the suspense never lets up. I couldn't put it down. Capelli has some secrets he keeps hidden very deep and Shea has a soft vulnerable side she wants no one to see. The romance is as hot as the fires. This can be read as a stand alone, but the first book and novella about Station Seventeen are great reads.
I received this ARC from the publisher and Netgalley for an honest review.
