Holy smokes! What a hot diversion!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you love your sex hot, fast, and plentiful, then this steamy menage novella is one to grab. Light on the character development but plenty of action to go around, you can get your quickie on with this smoking story.
Good girl with a naughty mind along with current her boss and new boss along with some MMF action, this book leaves you wondering how to get a job like that! HA.
Super hot, but very short. This is my first book by Ms. Stein and I have already book marked her for more! YUMMM!
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for an advanced copy.
A very quick read but not sure if I really enjoyed it to be honest. I think that's because I didn't really like the 3 characters in the book very much and although the story is "hot" there isn't much of a plot to it - before you know it, it's finished.
I love a quickie and that's exactly what this was. One that was packed full of heat and love and everything I like. We were immediately immersed into the world of Amy, Abel, and Tom. A couple of times I felt like I was playing catch up, but the sex was so hot that I didn't even care. The chemistry between the three of them was incredible. I wanted more scenes, would love to see where they are now. Even though this was short, the characters were fleshed out well. I felt like I knew them. This was a great menage book and the only complaint was that I didn't want it to end.
Charlotte Stein's writing is usually a hit or miss for me, but this one straddles the line. There is not much of a plot, and B+ for the steam factor.
Not Safe for Work: A Billionaire Menage Novella is by Charlotte Stein.
Amy Elliot has been a personal assistant to Thomas Hartford for a long time and knows him as a stiff, unyielding, follow the rules at all times, man. He has hired an old friend of his, Abel Hernandez, as his new CFO of Hartford Industries. It will be Amy’s job to help Abel to acclimate to his new surroundings.
Abel is everything Tom Hartford is not, uninhibited, passionate, fun loving. And it takes all of two days for the chemistry to win between them. But there is something or rather, someone, that always seems to be there with them in thought, Tom Hartford.
“She wondered if this was all they were: two people drawn together because of some third person they couldn’t have.”
Tom is devastated when he learns of Abel and Amy’s relationship. He has secretly always wanted Amy and has also always harbored feelings for Abel. It is Abel who finally instigates a meeting between the three of them, finally forcing Tom to give in to what he has been craving for so long.
“All of his restraint was gone, all of his aloofness had disappeared, and she was responsible. Or at least, partly responsible.”
There was a lot I really liked about this very short story, but also some things that didn’t work as well for me. First, the hotness factor was through the roof. Abel somehow finds a way to open up a part of both Tom and Amy that was there all along, they just didn’t realize it at all. And Amy truly cared for both Abel and Tom, was falling in love with them actually.
What I didn’t like was that first, I found the conversation a little hard to follow at times. In the previous book I read by Charlotte, I loved her lyrical writing style. In this, I was just a little confused at times. There was a statement at the end regarding Tom that really confused me. And the ending was very abrupt. I felt like the whole thing just stopped right in the middle of everything.
I did enjoy this and as I said, it was hot as heck. I just felt that there were other factors that were lacking just a bit.
“They weren’t two and one at all. They were a perfect three.”
I really liked the writing but it just ended. It was too short, and I didn't quite think the story wrapped up completely.
The title and the blurb are pretty self explanatory in this office romance by the deliciously filthy Charlotte Stein. It's a short novella, originally published as part of the Filthy and Rich anthology, and moves pretty quickly from 'welcome to the company' to 'welcome to the bedroom'. Hartford is the voyeur here as Abel and Amy discover they are sexually compatible while at the office, but they find a way to incorporate him too in their office games. Plenty of sexy scenes for the length of the story - don't expect much character development or deep POV here. Plus, a nice surprise twist to the happy for now ending of this polyamorous romance. Definitely worth a bedtime read!
Review will be posted at sale sites during release week. It's been posted at Goodreads.
This is exactly as advertised, short, hot, menage story. No fluff, minimal backstory. Just a quick and sexy read.
I just finished Charlotte Stein's sexting mind trip Way Down Deep, only to get an ARC for her newest novella, Not Safe For Work. It's like Christmas came early, because this little menage nugget is downright filthy and trippy fun.
I'm a big fan of the author but not so much of her earlier menage stories. Her earlier menage stories seemed populated by people unsure of their sexual desires and seemingly ether coerced or apologetic about their sexuality. Not so with Amy, Abel, and Hartford.
NSFW starts off as a stage for Abel who is blatantly, brazenly seductive with Hartford's proper personal assistant, Amy. But Amy is hardly your usual awkward, socially warped Charlotte Stein heroine. Despite the short page length, it is enough to allow Amy to come into her own sexual power and allure over Abel and Hartford. I loved the unfolding realizations she had of Hartford's true feelings, which culminated into a fantastic ending with a teasing reveal of the men's true desires. This novella was packed with so much tantalizing and teasing, that I was quite startled and saddened when it ended.
Cute quick read that had a good balance of story vs. sex. Would read more from Stein.
A quick erotic novella about two coworkers having a three way (MMF) sexual relationship with their boss. Amy and Abel the co workers want Hartford their boss to join them after they learn that he video tape them together and fired Amy because he was jealous. The two males are bi sexual and Amy is turn on by that. I found the story confusing because I didn't understand Hartford's role in the relationship. Perhaps he did not know how to accept being bi sexual?
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy provided by St. Martin Press/NetGalley.
This was a quick read. I felt like this novel was a bit stunted. Even for an Erotic novella, there must be a reader/character connection. There must be an understanding of how the character's think and feel so that the relationship feels meant to be. I must say that the ending statement was a HEA that left me satisfied, but I question of it's still enough to feel it's right for the group. While there were many parts that were well written and engaging, I just didn't connect enough to care for the relationships or even find the passion and desire between the threesome.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the book.
Not Safe for Work was not what I expected!
The dialogue became obnoxious and annoying and the plot was difficult to follow. While I usually enjoy a quick hot read, ménage and everything it entails, this story just didn’t do it for me.
Wowzers this was hot! A quick read that was really just all about the sex.......which was well written. I liked the 3 characters and am glad it was only a novella because anything more i would have lost interest in the sex and been wanting more story.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this book actually. It's another case of the author writing about someone who is extremely awkward in a highly sexual situation. Since it is just a novella, there isn't a lot to the book other than the sex. In this case it is Hartford who is the awkward person, and his strangeness just doesn't quite sit right with me. His strangeness seems to rub off on Amy to a fairly large degree, and that makes it all the more weird. The only one in the arrangement who seems comfortable is Abel. Anyway, the sex is fairly hot, so if you like threesomes, go for it. If you want a story, then don't bother. This certainly isn't my favorite book from this author. Her work is usually an instant purchase for me, no question, but I could have skipped this one and not missed anything.
Not one of the three characters is in any way endearing or interesting, so it's hard to feel involved with them or concerned about them. The whole thing just seems like awkwardness for the sake of awkwardness. Since that's what Charlotte Stein likes to write about, it makes sense, but this one is a miss for me.
Holy hot smoking kindles. My kindle is toast, this book was so freaking hot and so well written.
Hartford is a class A jerk to work for and of course he calls in his executive admin to work on a weekend to show the new CFO around. Abel and Hartford go way back and he knows what a tubesteak he can be. So, first thing when Amy gets on the elevator with Abel he starts in on her and these two just about burn down the building. His desk, the chair, the floor, I lost track seriously. But they were romantic too. Abel knows what to whisper to Amy in her ear. Amy has never experienced anything like Abel before.
Amy goes to work Monday morning and summoned by Mr Hartman who begins to pick apart the whole scenario starting with the elevator, which he only removed her very uncomfortable shoes, but Hartford is dissecting each and every moment. It's then Amy realizes he's got the office wired for video. She never realized it. As he's watching the video, he turns his laptop to her and is shaking with something between rage and jealousy maybe. Tough call. His last words to her were you're fired.
When Abel goes to visit Amy that evening after they christen every surface in the house she tells him what happened and they discuss Hartford's sexuality. Abel guesses that maybe Hartford wants to watch so they decide to set something up.... and that's where I am leaving this review, because I have said enough and the rest would be spoilers.
Just know that this sweet little Novella is hot as hell and Charlotte you rock! That was amazing and the writing was perfection.
