This book was ok and quite predictable. I found some of the things Brick said to be kind of weird and a little off putting and vulgar. I wasn't big on the double names for Mark/Brick either.

Overall I found this to be just an ok read.

A STARDANCE SUMMER - Emily March

#13 in the Eternity Springs romance series

SECOND CHANCES - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - After a disastrous job-related situation, Lili decides to get away from it all and joins a group of friends on a camping adventure at a campground. Turns out the camp director is Mark Christopher (known in Eternity Springs as Brick Callahan), friend of her brother and her original crush. The sparks are still there, but both of them are gun-shy about relationships.

Writing - 4.5 stars - As always, March introduces us to yet another charming character within the sweet and relaxing Eternity Springs setting. Sure, there are some problems and difficulties, but the reader can be assured that all will turn out well and the town will work hard to help and be supportive. Definitely a feel-good story.

Characters - 4.5 stars - This is where the story always shines for me in this series. Brick has been a tantalizing character for the last couple of books, so I was happy to get to know him better this time. He had a painful break-up with the woman he loved, so now he's cautious. Coincidentally, that same woman has been Lili's nemesis, unbeknownst to Brick. Lili started out to be a goody-two-shoes, but she certainly developed into a warm and loving character. She lacks self-confidence (understandably due to the people around her), but she's strong and capable. I liked them together since they had a deep-seated past and have grown separately into a couple who works well together.

Title - 4 stars - The title sets the stage for both the setting and the timeframe. No confusion, pretty straight-forward.

Cover - 4 stars - The covers are always good representations of the beautiful setting that Eternity Springs offers. They instill a sense of peace before you even open the book.

Overall - 4 stars - This series gets better and better the more I listen to it. Amy Landon does an excellent job of narration, and her warm voice certainly adds to the ambiance. There are a lot of starts and stops with Brick and Lili's relationship, but they do keep moving forward together. There is some loving interference from their families to add to the fun. I look forward to continuing with Josh's story next.

I tend to prefer to read series in order, and I didn't enjoy the early books in this one well enough to keep up with the newer installments. Maybe someday I'll come back to the series, but for now it's not for me.

A Stardance Summer is one of the Eternity Springs novels written by Emily March. I have read of few of these stories. Some I liked. Others just weren't my cup of tea. The premise of all of these stories is usually the same - two broken souls are brought together in the "magical" Eternity Springs - but there is always some sort of twist.

In A Stardance Summer the twist is the classic brother's best friend love interest. Lili Howe grew up with a slight crush on her older brothers' friend Mark. The feelings were never reciprocated and more often than not she was embarrassed by them. It has been years since she has seen Mark so imagine her surprise when he winds up being the owner of the Stardance Ranch where she is staying at with her new friends the Tornado Alleycats.

Lili isn't the only one surprised by the encounter so is Mark. He is better now known as Brick - a nickname bestowed on him by his family - the Callahan's. Brick hasn't thought of Lili in years. The last time she saw her she just the younger sister - and now she's all grown up and skinny dipping in the dark. The spark between Lili and Brick is noticeable right away. Of course a little nudity doesn't hurt this spark. Both characters do their best to ignore it - Lili because she is trying to build her life and has been burned by Brick before - and Brick because that is his best friends little sister and he would kill him if he hurt her. The more the two characters try to ignore the spark, the more it is there. And some good friends in the neighborhood want to help move it along.

Lili is at the camp with the Tornado Alleycats - a group of no so mild mannered elderly woman who just want to live it up. These women are so funny and Lili finds herself wrapped up with them as she tries to not play it safe anymore. Playing it safe has gotten her no where and allowed people to walk all over her. I could relate to Lili in this regard and enjoyed watching her take chances. One of the biggest chances she takes is on Brick. Like I said there are some very "helpful" friends in the neighbor hood who work together to get the two stubborn main characters together where they can lay it all out on the line.

The atmosphere of Eternity Springs has a sense of magic and healing to it. It is this atmosphere that plays a role in healing Lili and Brick and allowing them to be together with no expectations. Both characters have been hurt in the past and are way stronger together. Laying it all out on the line forces them to realize this. This time around I found the connection between the main characters to feel real and endearing instead of forced and dry as has happened with other romances in Eternity Springs.

A Stardance Summer is a light summer read. As a reader you can go into it without necessarily knowing the other characters from the series. If you are meant to meet them, you will. The dynamic of the town is very all encompassing and someone is always willing to help someone else out. And no one is afraid of a little white lie or bribery. This allows for some hilarious moments which I think readers will enjoy if they are in the mood for a light summer romance.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I read this some time ago but remember it being an excellent read though I really like the secondary characters more than the main characters.

As always, Emily gave me a story that I devoured.

I clung to each word like it were the last word. I don't think I could ever not enjoy one of Emily's books.

A pleasant read. Lilliane Howe goes to Eternity Springs, when she reaches a crossroad in her life. There she meets her Brick Callahan , her childhood crush. There are also a lot of interesting secondary characters in it.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

A Stardance Summer by Emily March is a 2017 St. Martin’s Press publication

A very pleasant summertime book!

Lili Howe impulsively joins the Tornado Alleycats- an all -female camping group- after she is fired from her job and her family doesn’t step up to defend her honor.

Upon arrival at the Stardance Ranch, she is stunned to find the camp is being managed by her brother’s best friend, Brick Callahan, who also happens to be her very first crush.

Making things even more awkward, Lili is all too aware that Brick suffered a crushing heartbreak when the love of his life married another man.. Having glimpsed him at a very vulnerable moment, she knows he took it very hard. But, Brick also witnessed every big humilating moment in Lili's life, and is now a constant reminder of her failures.

But, Lili isn’t going to allow her lingering feelings for Brick to spoil her plans. She’s there to live life to the fullest, take a few risks, and leave her boring, ‘good girl’ reputation in the dust. But, she embraces her new role a little too eagerly, causing her friends to worry about her, and leaving Brick in between a rock and a hard place. His feelings for Lili breaks all the ‘no dating one’s best friend’s sister’ rules, for one thing, and for another, he’s determined to never fall in love again to avoid having his heart broken.

Let’s lay our cards on the table right up front. I’ve enjoyed many installments in this wonderful series, and no, this one is not one that pushes all the big emotional buttons or comes with a ‘keep those tissues handy’ warning. It’s not as deep, and is much lighter in the drama department, but it is just the right amount of angst, humor, sweet, heartwarming, and sexy time, for a poolside companion.

Summer always puts me in the mood for lighter reading, fun ‘chick-lit’, zany contemporary romances, and beach reads. So, this book, at this moment, is a nice fit for me. I just loved the Tornado Alleycats, the skinny dipping, and a few of Lili’s epic fails. Brick’s character was perhaps a little underdeveloped and kind of bland, perhaps, but he came through for Lili when it counted.

The romance, of course, is a big part of the story, but Lili’s finally stepping away from her brother’s shadow, understanding her family's actions, learning to relax and enjoy life more, is the strongest message in the story, and getting the boy at the end just makes it that much better!

Overall, this is just an all around fun read. It’s not as serious as some other installments have been, but it still has a few heart-tugging moments and a lovely happily ever after.
3.5 rounded up.

I really enjoyed this book. I like how Lilianna thought she was escaping only to find her childhood heart throb. Brick was a little confusing. There is not really much on his back ground it seems unless you have read previous books. Besides the points where you are wondering about it the book holds your attention and is a good story.

I will recommend this to all my customers.

For me, each book in the Eternity Springs series is a guaranteed great read. Each of the books can be read as stand-alone novels. However, it’s tough to stop at just one and am surprised there have already been thirteen in this series. Emily March manages to create characters that are unique, endearing and yet still ordinary people. And almost every one of them are searching for something, of course some don’t even realize they are searching. In this case, Lili and Brick are both at a crossroads. Fortunately, the town’s matriarch, Celeste Blessing, always knows just how to push people to help them find their way. Eternity Springs is one of those small towns that you wish was real just so that you could live there. Instead I’ll just have to be satisfied with visiting for a few hours as I read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

It took me a while to get though this book because I was a bit lost. I needed to read the 12 other books before this so maybe this would be a more cohesive overall picture. There are so many characheters n this book and it was a bit overwhelming and I missed really getting to know Liliana and Brick as characters. Brick seemed to be so shy and such a wall flower that I had a hard time connecting to his character. I guess if you would have read all of the previous books then this would have been a delight to see how all these fun characters are dong, but for a new reader to this series don't just into it, start from the beginning.

My only regret with this book is that I didn't come into the series from the beginning...even though the author did a remarkable job of providing plenty of backstory, I wish I could have gotten to know the Callahan family early on.

With that said, this wonderful story truly touched my heart in a way that an author has not been able to do in a very long time. The characters, the settings, the circumstances, the romance, it was all a package that was easy for me to lose myself in. Lili's early years (the heartbreak, the embarrassing moments, the insecurities) were heartbreaking...I'm sure every woman can see a bit of herself at that age in Lili. What young girl hasn't crushed on an older boy?, I know I did. Lili says that she first fell in love with Mark when he gave her his letterman jacket, in my mind's eye I could see moment as it unfolded...heart sigh.

Throughout the story the bits and pieces from the past to the present that were interwoven in created the perfect backdrop for the depth of Lili's feelings for Mark. Coming face to face with him again when she was escaping the turmoil in her life set them both up for their own romantic story. I'm just sorry that some type of comeuppance for Tiffany was not part of the later story.

Now that I have come upon Ms March and her stories telling genius, I plan to keep her on my author watch list...and as well, go back and start the series from the begin.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

This is the 13th book in the Eternity Springs Series, but I have not read any of the others and had no problem following and enjoying this story. Having said that, I will go back and read some of the others as the characters I met have some storylines that I would like to learn more about.

Liliana (Lili) Howe who flees to Eternity Springs because she is upset and hurting from circustances at home. She joins the Tornado Alleycats, an older, all female camping group, run by her landlady, Patsy. This group wants to have a good time and Lili is the one that they want to be successful in her endeavours. Shortly after arriving at the camp, Lili catches a glimpse of someone she thinks is familiar. It turns out to be Brick Callahan whom she has known as the boy next door when she was growing up. At that time he was called Mark and was her brother's best friend. He was also the one that she loved from the time she was nine years old, but lost to someone his own age. As it turned out, she dumped him and married someone else. A hurt he has never gotten over.

As we meet the characters in this book, I wanted to be there with them. The Tornado Alleycats were a hoot. From skinny dipping to all their fun activities (pole dancing anyone?) they were going to have a good time. Lili started out a scared rabbit who decided to let go in Colorado and could have gotten herself into a lot of trouble, but with all her guardian angels, nothing bad happened to her. Brick aka Mark, is a troubled character who tries to fight the feelings he has for Lili, of course he is really not sure what they mean. The rest of the family flit in and out of the story but are there enough to make you want to learn more about the Callahans and Eternity Springs. The story moved along at a good pace and left me with a great feeling when I finished. I read this one in a 24 hour period but I am still thinking about these characters. This is a romance but more than that. It is a story about finding your strengths and doing what you want out of life, not what others expect of you (i.e jobs, where to live, who to love). It is a story of family, loyalty and personal strength. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good story with romance thrown in.

Emily March’s Eternity Springs series is one I absolutely devour every time I pick up one of these books. It’s like a return to your favorite town and you see all the regulars around. It’s old friends and I for one love returning to this quaint little town in Colorado. Ms. March delivers a wonderful story that brings her beloved Callahan’s to Eternity Springs and gives us a story of childhood friends that have that spark, that if carefully nurtured will turn into something so much more if they work at it.

We are introduced to Liliana Howe and her family right off the bat and I really felt for her. She is the quiet, unassuming daughter in the Howe family and one that doesn’t aspire for greatness, just something other than being an accountant. When events conspire against her and accusations fly against Lili, the reader cannot help but feel for her. As the ‘good’ daughter, she has done the right thing all her life, even without any thank you’s or pats on the back. I love Lili so much. She is a sweet girl next door that comes into her own while in Eternity Springs. I loved her spunkiness as she figured out just who she was and where she wanted to go in her life. Coming out of her comfort zone, Lili finds her inner strength and finds friends in the Alleycats, the residents of Eternity Springs and especially Celeste, the angel of Eternity Springs. Brick is a delight if at times a total man who can be quite clueless at times even as he fights his attraction o Lili. These two just work together in all ways. Brick pushes Lili to her feisty side while also showing just how much he wants her. Lili shows Brick that being with her is something so much more than he even expects. With her trademark style, Ms. March delivers a heartfelt story that tugs your heart in all ways and leaves you breathless when the last page is read. The story flows smoothly and has a few twists that just had me gasping in shock as I flipped the pages to see what happens next. The secondary characters are well written and I loved catching up with returning characters from past Eternity Springs books.

A STARDANCE SUMMER is a perfect summer read and one that will give you a ton of feels even as you laugh, cry and swoon over the characters in the book. I look forward to seeing where this author goes next in the series and I am really hoping she gives us more of Brick’s foster brother, Josh and the rest of the Callahan’s.

Lili decides to go to Eternity Springs for the summer to get away from all that went down back at home. She joins the all female camping club called the Alleycats. Lili has spent all her life doing what others expect her to do, but now she’s had enough and she wants to do what makes her feel happy and alive. She wanted to spend a fun summer at the RV resort, but when she finds out who is running the RV resort, she’s more than surprised because it’s her high school crush Brick. Lili and Brick were teenagers back then, but now years later as adults there’s a mutual attraction. Is it now the right time for Lili and Brick to be happy and in love?

It was my first book in the series and I really enjoyed reading it. I definitely want to read more from this author in the future. I liked how that there was a glimpse to the main characters teenage time and then how things progressed in the present. It was a sweet, feel-good novel – perfect for the summer time.

Emily is normally a fantastic author and one I will pick up without reading the blurb. This book however didn't hit the par of her others. I loved the story at the start and was drawn into the book within the first few chapters. However, I found it hard to hold onto that love as the story went on.
It was drawn out and sometimes boring. The plotline it self was amazing but there was too much going on as sometimes. We had the drama of Lili and her work. We also had the drama of one of the main characters dealing with a serious medical issue. (This I loved) It showed us a love and respect between the two women and offered a beautiful insight into how they live.
Lili's character annoyed me with her back and forth with Brick. She was doing the exact same things to him that she hated with him at when she knew him as MARK. Then throw into the mix that her father also was dealing with a medical thing and that is why they turned their backs on her. Plus Bricks 'sister'stealing from him and it was too much for one book. I was disappointed with this book. I wish that Emily would have stuck to the way she normally keeps it simple with just a splash of excitement.

What a lovely romantic, Summer read. Full of sizzling sexual tension as our hero, Brick, and heroine, Lili, fight their desire for each other! The story is set in Eternity Springs where Brick runs a trailer camp and where Lili arrives with the Tornado Alleycats, for the Summer!

This is the first book I have read by this author but I loved it so much I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series. This was a heartwarming romance with characters who you really root for. The writing was wonderful. I can't wait to read more by this author.
