Teague Watters moved to L.A. to follow her dream of being on her own and making it by herself. Being the baby of 4 siblings, a Daddy’s girl, she needed to fly the nest to find her backbone.
Mateo Gallagher is a man with a secret. Anonymity is required for his job and he likes it that way until one night, at a bar, he has a run in with a beautiful and wholesome girl.
This was my first read by Ms. Bielman, but most definitely won’t be my last. I fell in love with Mateo and Teague, both individually and as a couple. Though we get the vibe that Teague is a pleaser and can’t say no to anyone, she’s not that at all. She’s caring, loyal and compassionate and she takes pride in what she does. Mateo is a heartbreaker and, though he comes across as an arrogant jerk, he’s been guarding his heart for too long and is nothing of the kind, something that shows when he never requests what he knows Teague is not ready to give.
I loved the build-up in this book, the time they spend together, getting to know each other despite knowing the underlined chemistry will take them in a path with no return.
The story is engaging, full of sassiness, sexiness and many cute, heartfelt moments. It was most definitely not what I expected, but it was better in a different way.
I’m hoping the secondary characters get their own stories, specially Harper. Because a bff deserves her own HEA.

After reading this I just want more Mateo! I loved everything about this story. It was hilarious, sexy and full of delicious sexual tension. The way Mateo and Teague meet is cringe-worthy but so funny. There are immediate sparks and then sparks turn into a blazing fire. The two become friends because Mateo is a one night kind of guy and Teague is a relationship girl. However, they eventually realize that friendship isn't enough.
The story is told in first person and switches back and forth between the two main characters. I loved their inner dialogue and it really helped to firmly establish their personalities. Mateo and Teague couldn't be more different but they're perfect for each other. I really enjoyed this funny, feel-good romance. Looking forward to Harper's story!!
I expected more from this book, but it felt very flat and unrealistic

Talk British to Me is the first book in Robin Bielman’s Wherever You Go series and what a fabulous start! When these two characters, Mateo (aka Bennett) and Teague bump into each other one evening, you can tell these two are going to have amazing chemistry. But Mateo is under contract to not reveal who his radio personality is (the smooth, sexy talking “British” Dating Guy on a popular radio station-a segment Teague and her friend love to listen to) and he’s not allowed to get into a relationship. He isn’t looking for one, but… Teague is a woman who is all about the commitment.
Even though Mateo plays this sexy, cocky character, he’s a very caring, charming and sweet man underneath. I loved Teague’s character too. She’s this very loveable, sweet, strong character. She moved away to LA from her home in Oregon to be more independent. She’s the baby of her family and they have always been over protective of her, but they’re also a very loving family. I really liked that she wanted to stand on her own two feet.
Mateo is trying to not to fall for Teague, but the more time they spend together, the harder it is not to fall. Teague isn’t sure how much longer she can resist him either, even though she knows he isn’t someone to stick around for the long term. I appreciated that this wasn’t a “race to the finish line” for the hot scenes. It made it even more special and the build-up was just as fun to read about. I thoroughly enjoyed Talk British to Me and I’m looking forward to more books in this series!

This was such a fun read. I love it when the authors take the time to develop an interesting and totally unique plot. This is not a run-of-the-mill romance story but it does lean into the chick-lit and even rom-com categories a bit.
I love the fact that this is a lighthearted read that is without a ton of drama and angst. The author took her time developing the characters along with a great deal of sexual tension and anticipation.
Robin Bielman never fails to deliver a engaging and captivating read. Sweet and saucy, this series is definitely going to be one to lighten your heart and enjoy to the fullest.
The most important things you need to know about this book:
· It’s freaking adorable. I feel like I can't stress that enough. Freaking. ADORABLE .
· The chemistry between Mateo & Teague is on point and full of that flirty, sparky energy I can never get enough of.
· I smiled so hard and so dorkily for literally 90% of the story.
· Talk British to Me was EVERYTHING and I couldn't get enough of it!
I can’t tell you the last time I enjoyed a book this much. I didn’t skim for a single moment. In fact, this was one of those books that made me want to slow down and draw it out as I neared the end because I wasn’t ready to let go of all these swoony, fuzzy feels. It’s actually impossible to express what I loved most about this book because it all blends together in this perfect, fun, seriously-so-adorable romantic little package.
Let’s start with Teague. Sometimes I felt like there was maybe a little too much emphasis on how perfect she was. But, I mean, she was pretty perfect, so I get it. She really was one of the kindest, strongest, smartest, most relatable heroines I’ve read in a long time. She was refreshingly innocent without being some sort of virginal caricature.
And…Mateo?
Guh.
GUH.
*ded*
No, seriously. I sometimes really wanted to not like him because I knew there were troubled waters ahead. I adored Teague so the idea that he would hurt her (and we all know that’s inevitable, right?) really grated on me. But he’s so freaking fantastic that I basically sat here googly eyed and twitterpated while he flirted and charmed his way directly into my heart. His sins were not unforgivable. They only made him human, flawed, and a little insecure in a way that I wasn’t exactly expecting but sort of endeared him to me all the more. In the end, he more than compensates for his wrongdoings and…GUHHHHHH. I am so crazy for him!
Crazy for this whole book, actually. The whole package. The fun secondary characters (who I'm hoping I'll get to spend a lot more time with in the future), and the warm natural-feeling relationships that were forged. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, but also heartfelt and emotional in a way that caused my chest to pinch and a pesky lump to form in the back of my throat. It was a nearly perfect reading experience for me, and my grabby hands are flapping around like crazy - ready for so much more where this came from!
Mateo is a real piece of work. Couldn't decide if the douche bag label applied or the clueless one. Either way you slice it, the contradictions made the man.
Teague is even more of a puzzle than Mateo. Her actions say don't touch, but the sparks sent Mateo's way say anything but. Robin Bielman specializes in reactionary stories. Whether erupting with laughter, tempted by the bad boy or frustrated by the antics of her characters, there is always an overflow of feelings. Talk British to Me is just another example of how well she commands attention.
This was my first book from this author and it definitely won't be my last. This book was sooo fun and cute, I couldn't stop smiling. So many moments where I also giggled to myself.
Teague and Mateo were sooo cute together. He can't have a relationship due to his job and she isn't interested in a fling. However these two can't stay away from each other and form a friendship of sorts. Their interaction had me smiling, so cute with each other.
There are also complications other then his job and one in particular that reminded me of the movie Devil Wears Prada a bit. It makes the story even more interesting to see how these two navigate through it.
Throughout this book I found myself engrossed in these two as their feelings develop.
A definite recommend if you are looking for a fun, flirty romance with an HEA
Go grab a bottle of water - you're going to need it to put out the fire while reading this book! Somehow Robin Bielman created a guy who could, for lack of a better word, be called a manwhore a likeable guy. This is genius, my friends. In general, I can't stand a hero of a book who sleep around. Seriously, it is extremely annoying. Especially when the heroine sleeps with him anyway. But in this case, you have a heroine who is strong, sweet, and sexy, who holds out a lot longer than I would have if I were in her shoes, and we also get a hero who tries to stay away but finds himself unable to resist the temptation that it his lady. That is romance. Pure and simple.
It all started with a basket of hot wings. A little stumble and hot sauce is everywhere, making for a first meeting they will never forget. Mateo Gallagher is out "working" - as the Dating Guy, he is undercover dating different women almost every night, looking for new material for his radio show. When he collides with Teague Watters, the Dating Guy realizes he may have met his match. Sure, he knows she's interested, but he also knows that she wants forever and he can only be for one night. Still, their paths continue to cross, and Teague and Mateo can't keep their hands off each other. As the Dating Guy, Mateo has to stay single for his job, but with Teague, he wants much more than he can ever have.
Firstly, if you haven't watched Hitch with Will Smith, you should. It feels very similar to this book, though he has lot more humility than Mateo. Mateo drove me absolutely nuts! One minute he was this sweet, sexy guy who was totally knocking Teague's socks off. Then he would do or say something stupid (I'm looking at you, Kiss Cam). He was way too arrogant for me in the beginning, but then, as a guy who constantly dated women and couldn't keep it in his pants, it's not that hard to believe. The fact that he could tone down his arrogance enough to reel in Teague was a freakin' miracle. Teague was the real deal - a genuine person who had no idea how sexy she was and who loved Mateo for who he was, not what he looked like (not that it hurt, right?). It broke my heart as she struggled with her desire to spend time with him and with the reality that he wouldn't be hers forever. Sexy Mateo, why did it take you so long to see what was right in front of you?
Great book and one that prompts me to read more by this author in the future! I love the uniquely fun way of writing Robin Bielman has. Now let's read about Teague's friend, Harper, shall we? Fingers crossed that she's next!
I had to have this book as soon as I saw it. First of all, being British I was curious to see how that element turned out. Second, the cover. And third, I liked the idea of The Dating Man on the radio station.
It's safe to say Talk British to Me didn't disappoint. I loved every second I was immersed in the world this author has created here. It held my attention so well that I got through it too quickly. I didn't want it to end.
This book was lighthearted and easy to get through. It's not the first book I've read by this author so I kind of knew what to expect, but I fell completely in love Mateo. I can't think of any other word to describe him other than charming. Even though he dated a lot of girls, I believed in his friendship with Teagan and thought the way his emotions developed were good. He was a likeable guy who seemed genuinely sweet.
As for Teagan, I liked how her feelings developed. She also became stronger throughout the book. In essence, they worked well together. Mateo was a bit more carefree and laid back which helped Teagan find her confidence. There was definitely chemistry between them.
Overall this was just a really well-crafted romance. I could have easily read another book on this couple I was enjoying it that much. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lighter read. It was perfect to enjoy as part of a lazy day in the sun.
My oh my...after I finally ripped my eyes away from this cover (yep, I'm all about the abs) what I got was one amazing and completely entertaining story. Mateo is just so sexy and funny and just... perfect! Teague is a perfect match for him too. She's hardworking, dedicated, feisty, snarky, and a definite relationship girl. However, a relationship is the one thing Mateo can't give her. That doesn't mean he won't try and convince her to have a little fun!
I think I've read everything Ms. Bielman has written and this is the first new adult I can remember. I must say she nailed it! It is well written as expected, the characters are great, and the story is light, fun, and captivating. This should go on everyone's must read list. I highly recommend it.
I enjoyed this one a lot. It was a bit of a slow burn, but the end made it worth it. Great character development throughout, and you couldn't help but love Mateo a little. Looking forward to what's coming next from Robin Bielman! Hopefully it's Harper and Levi's story.
An adorable read !
Mateo is the dating guy, an RJ who does the morning show with a different name and a British accent to keep his identity a secret.
Teague was working as a barista, and happened to be at the right place at the right time, and lands herself the job of an assistant to a highly sought after wedding planner.
When Mateo and Teague meet, the attraction is instant. Mateo as the dating guy has signed a contract that allows him to date but no serious relationships. Teague is a relationship girl. And the fact that she works for his mom is not helping matters.
Talk British to me was an adorable read. I really enjoyed the way their relation develops. There are some entertaining secondary characters that I hope get their own book.
Overall its a cute, light hearted, funny read. And I look forward to reading more in the series.
There was a like to like- but I also wished to see it from an older perspective-
As I said some really terrific moments though
I’ve never read Robin Bielman, and I really enjoyed Talk British to Me and will be checking out her backlist asap; it is a fun, sexy, original and thoroughly entertaining romance. Mateo has a popular dating advice radio show and uses a false British accent and fake name to conceal his identity. He has a legion of fans, especial women who find his voice and persona swoon-worthy, and it is literally his job to stay single and scope out the dating scene.
He meets Teague when she accidentally dumps wings on his white shirt, and he is instantly intrigued and attracted to her. They have electric chemistry, but she’s not a one-night stand kind of girl and he realizes it. He wants to pursue something with her, but he he doesn’t know what and he cannot be in a relationship. But he can’t stay away from her. Teague knows Mateo is probably a player and a bad bet, but she feels the same magnetic pull towards him. Their paths continue to cross as if fate is playing its hand.
They become involved, and Mateo’s secrets and his job requirement to date other women become a big problem that doesn’t seem solvable, unless he’s willing to find another occupation. Both Mateo and Teague are engaging characters, and the reader will become invested in seeing them get their happy-ever-after. Talk British to Me has funny moments, steamy interludes, and a great love story, and it should not be missed. -Mary Dubé, Harlequin Junkie
Here's what I got from the blurb: A rather overconfident man, dubbed "The Dating Guy" on his popular morning radio show, meets his match in a forever kind of woman.
Here's what I got from reading the book: An unjustifiably overconfident young man of 23, dubbed "The Dating Guy" on his popular 5 minute radio bit, meets a sweet young woman making her way in the world.
Okay. As you might see, I had some problems with this one.
First off, what 23 year old guy knows exactly what attracts (and keeps) a woman? Listening to Mateo's point of view (this book alternates POV from Mateo to Teague), he truly believes he's God's gift to women. "I'm hot. I'm smart. I'm funny. My abs are killer (I'll post another pic of them on Instagram, and I'll even respond to some of the comments because I'm so awesome!). I'm protective, but not too protective. I would do anything for my family, even though my mom comes off as kind of mean. I'm really nice, though. I'm a great friend. I'm basically the unicorn every woman wishes was in her pants. Sorry, but it's true." Some version of this is said in nearly ALL of his chapters. It got old REALLY fast, and I have to say, he didn't live up to the hype. He doesn't work (aside from the radio gig) because he comes from a lot of money. Of course, to make him less douchey, he donates his time to a soccer charity for kids. (I didn't buy that at all; it was just too much perceived perfection.) Of course, he's great with kids, as is shown through his interactions with his 6 year old neighbor. His fatal flaw? Well, his girlfriend in college left him for his friend when he broke his leg (thus ending his career aspirations of becoming a professional soccer star).
Um...seriously? First heartbreak is hard. But this guy made it seem like it was the end of his world forever and ever and, like, everrrrrrrrrr. (I'm trying hard not to roll my eyes. I'm failing.)
Okay. Maybe I'm in a different place in my life...but I think the reality is, I was never in Mateo's place in his life. He's written to be the most perfect guy ever, and his only hang up is that he's contractually obligated to remain single. Uh...really? As an adult, this is utter crap. I can't even suspend belief for this, and the reason why is because the author tried to make him so super-duper perfect that this feels too contrived. "Sorry readers. I know he's too good to be true. And he can't commit to Teague because he's contractually obligated not to, so it's not his fault. So see? He still really is perfect." Ugh. Just no. He had no substance! He's nothing but a great set of abs, topped with killer dimples and an ego the size of California.
In contrast, I did like Teague. She was well-written, and I loved watching her navigate the world outside the safety net of her family. She had some great inner dialogue, and watching her grow her backbone in her corporate world was wonderful and refreshingly real. Her idealistic dreams of becoming a travel blogger were so great; I mean, what adventure-loving kid wouldn't want that kind of a gig? I had two hangups with Teague: the first was that she also was a bit too perfect. Mateo (and her best friend, Harper) raves about her "perfect round tits" and her "perfect ass" ALL. THE. TIME. Yet she never goes to the gym or goes for a run. In fact, she doesn't have time for any of that between two jobs and taking an online class...yet she shoves down all sorts of bad-for-you foods like cupcakes and fries. The second hangup was her job. In her crazy hectic life, she somehow never drops the ball with her overly demanding and bitchy boss who throws out twenty to-do items with terminology Teague can't possibly understand in her first two minutes at her new job. Uh, what? Missed opportunity here to see how Teague would bounce back from a professional failure. Instead, she excels at everything (bringing me back to issue #1 - the ridiculous perfection).
So, I didn't realize this book was New Adult when I started reading it. If Mateo was older and had some real life experience behind him (and maybe a real fatal flaw), I could get behind this novel. Alas, all I saw was the author setting up her bright-eyed readership of new adults to expect perfection in real life while being perfection in real life, because that's the only way they're ever going to be happy, right? Here's the thing. I'm not a fan of the New Adult genre in general. But I've read some good ones where the characters are messy, because real life is messy. And those books take you through the roller coaster of emotions of first jobs, standing on your own two shaky feet, and making the rent on time - all while dealing with intense feelings in a new relationship. This book did not do any of that. What it did do is perpetuate the myth that only the best-looking and most popular kids get it all based solely on good looks and charm. What I'm looking for in my reading is simple: a redeemable flaw in the characters, a feeling that the characters will have their happy ever after, and faith that while the world might be messed up, love will always be a shining star.
Sadly, this book did not deliver on any of those.

Talk British to Me by Robin Bielman is Book 1 of the Wherever You Go Series.
I had expected good things from this story but it was better than I had even envisioned. A new-to-me author, Ms. Bielman brought it with this rom-com. I found the chemistry between Mateo and Teague to be delightful and when coupled with the original storyline, defined world and engaging characters, you have one fantab read. Now add in all those laugh-out-loud moments and you’ve got a wicked awesome must-read peeps! Definitely adding Ms. Bielman onto my go-to list for reads.

Mateo can talk British or American to me anytime. *fans herself* In fact, I wish he had a talk show in real life because I would so tune in to it! I loved this book! It was the right combination of sweet and sexy and hot and hotter.
This a new author for me, so when I was asked to read it I looked over the brief explanation on what the story was about and decided to give it a try. Mateo and Knox's story was hysterical, well written, great storyline, and had some great sideline characters within the whole story. Although it was a bit long in some parts, I really loved this book. Zoe was adorable, loved the bond Mateo had with his "guys", and the friendship Harper and Teague had was pretty great too. Gabrielle truly was a force to be reconed with, but in the end she was just a mom who loved her family, and OMG when Madison finally came to her senses you were like thank god! Just an all around great book, very well worth the read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
I loved this one and had a hard time putting it down.
Honestly, it was just amazing. The chemistry they had and the realness to the relationship was well written and believable. It is just a fun book to read and experience.
