I'd recommend this book to fans of regency stories. I look forward to reading the second book in the series. Probably will answer some questions.
A well crafted and well paced read, however it was not one I was able to connect with fully. Am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to read and review this story.
I'm sorry I was not able to read and review this book before it was archived due to serious health issues.
Alexandria and Gabriel were both unique and interesting characters. I liked how they exchanged several letters and that they personalities, especially Alex's, were perfectly portrayed through them. I didn't like Alex's penchant for lying, definitely something she has to work on correcting. Gabriel has had to deal with a lot throughout the story, a mysterious physical illness not to mention that his new ward refusing to listen. Overall an enjoyable story, but it does end with a cliffhanger so you'll possibly want to have the next book available if you think this is a story you'll enjoy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book to review. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.
I'm not a fan of books that end on a cliffhanger, and this book is like part one of a three part story. But because I'm able to read all three in a row without waiting for the next book to release, it's not as bad. The characters are compelling and even though Gabriel and Alexandria don't even meet in this book, they form a relationship through letters and their personalities come across strongly. The element of suspense propels the plot forward and the traveling Alex does prevents the setting from becoming stagnant. I like the strong cast of secondary characters and look forward to continuing the story in the next book.

Another amazing summary and I was super to start this one, as soon as I started reading through I realized it wasn't going to be as amazing as the summary. It fell really flat, from where I thought it was going to go.
Attempted to read when I first received a few years back. Was unable to connect with the characters or writing style. Was going to try again a another time, but never got around to it. Didn't review on Goodreads or Amazon since I never completed the story.
There is a lot of tension in this book. There is a lot in this book that makes me wonder if I will ever share with my niece. A good read for an adult. I would not share with teens or anyone who only wants clean books.
Sorry, never got around to reading. Will try again at a later date.
*I never got around to reading and reviewing this book. I may do so in the future*
