Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Didn't do it for me...very quick and not as much heart as I hoped.
Sadly I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as the first one. Charlie was an arrogant idiot & Dylan seemed to lose her feistiness. Not sure I will read more in this series
I really wanted to like Healing The Quarterback, I really did but sadly this one just didn't work for me. This author at times is very hit or miss and this one was a miss for me.
sweet and sexy. great mix of what i love. sports star and the woman who heals him. Throw in some ranch loving and i sold.
I really enjoyed this book. You could feel every emotion the author described.
"Healing the Quarterback" is a quick read of Charlie, the hot, sexy quarterback, and his sports medicine doctor, equally hot and sexy Dylan. The story moves at a fast pace as Dylan treats Charlie's knee injury, which happens to be in his home town. They fall in love almost instantly and act on it on the football field, but get caught on camera. The story revolves around Charlie and Dylan, with only a quick mention of others in the story. I am in agreement with others that I did like the first one just a bit better. It seemed to have a bit more depth. If you want a fast afternoon fun hot read, then this is one to pick up. I would like to thank NetGalley and City Owl Press for gifting me "Healing the Quarterback". My opinion is my own. This is mine 3.25 Stars!
Charlie Wild is a quarterback with good looks and playboy life style but when he is injured he is back at his brother’s ranch to rehab. When he was faced with his rebab Dr. Dylan Rose, he is immediately wants to know more about her than just a doctor.
Dylan seen and hit on plenty with her looks so she decided to move her practice away from the big city life. When she faces Charlie again after her meeting at the stadium, she is pleasantly surprised.
Story is about Charlie’s rehab and Dylan helping him out. But story felt little short on Dylan part, she seems more desperate even though she knows Patient and doctor relationship is not encouraged. She predicts herself all the time..
I just wished Dylan was more stronger character than a Doctor who just falls for the obvious star athlete.
I did enjoy the first installment and this wasn’t as good as the first one.
A quick but entertaining sweet and sexy summer afternoon lounging in the sun and relaxing with a cold drink read.
Charlie Wild Star football player and all around alpha playboy is injured and back home to Wildhorse Rance to heal and rehab. Dr. Dylan Rose is a expert in sports medicine and leaving the big city to leave all the over-inflated egos of the athletic world. Sparks fly from the first crash into each other and continue to spark back home in the small town they both find themselves in. Loved every heart pounding moment.
Normally love Leslie North books, this one I just couldn't follow very well. She is one of my favorite authors and I will contiue to read her books, I have faith in her writing, this one fell short of the mark for me.
This is quite a bit different than the other North book I read, but it's equally as good. In fact, Leslie North is going on my list of authors that I "must read". Her characters are well-written and the plots, too.
I just love this book and author. Really like how you have alpha male but they never be too over the top in control in Lesile books/series. Also how the women are so strong and sassy and smart that the alpha male can't help falling for. Totally loved this series so far and totally recommend this book and all of Lesile north books. I've left a review on Amazon.uk
I enjoyed this book. Charlie behaved like I thought an injured quarterback would with his career in jeopardy as well as having his lifestyle questioned. Dylan is a doctor who seems to have a chip on her shoulder, one that Charlie would to knock off, preferably in her bed. Will these two figure out they can have it all or will their careers keep them apart?
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by NetGalley.
Fantastic story you can not put down! This author knows how to craft characters that leave you wanting more and more
Wow. I'm normally a huge fan but this book didn't do a thing for me. I hated Charlie and intensely disliked Dylan. I'm sad to say that neither the characters or their story held my interest. I actually checked twice to make sure the book was written by Leslie North. The dialogue was clunky, the storyline was awkward and not even a little bit likeable. I'm actually dumbfounded by the experience. I will of course always be a fan but just not of this book.
I loved this story, the build up was wonderful and kept me hooked from the first page. Hope that there will be some more like this one.
Another great cowboy story in the series. I think I read them a little back the front but I was still able to work out what was going on. The romance was at times a little corny and maybe over the top but it suited the story itself.
I’ve wavered quite a bit on my opinion of Healing The Quarterback from beginning to end. It’s a good basic story, and although I’m not a huge sports romance reader, I am a dedicated follower of series I begin so that may have played a part in my being unsure of how I feel about Charlie and Dylan’s romance.
There is being sure of yourself in an attractive self-assurance way. And then there’s the cocky, arrogant, I know better than you do kind of attitude that simply is unattractive to me. This was Charlie throughout most of this romance. He’s a superstar, he gets what he wants when he wants it, he is accustomed to not being turned down for anything or by anyone. I simply couldn’t connect or even like Charlie that much, which I feel badly about but his few redeeming moments couldn’t make up for that attitude – for me. Dylan, I could connect with. She’s strong willed and totally comfortable in her skin, her skills and her own attitude. She’s made the choice to practice in this small town that Charlie couldn’t wait to get out of. She also sees him with a touch of sadness as a player and not the amazing athlete that she first believed him to be. Charlie pretty much screwed up that with their first… and second meeting. Yet love always seems to find the way.
Healing The Quarterback was an entertaining romance that moved the series along. I would have liked to see more of Trevor and Sabrina but that’s my own preference to catch up a bit with previous couples in a series. Charlie and Dylan’s romance is intense at times, combative at others and down right sexy. Two stubborn people met their match, now they have to figure out how to love each other enough to make it work for them.
I’d recommend this story, and the entire series to any Romance reader who enjoys a solid story, interesting characters and dealing with one arrogant man.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Great book. Found myself reading into the late hours . I always like when a cocky athlete is not what he seems.
Charlie is a self-assured football player. Dylan is the doctor assigned to help him recover. They meet and sparks fly, but not without a little tension. At first, Dylan just wants to do her job to get Charlie back in the game. However, Charlie will not be dissuaded. I enjoyed this quick read.
