Be still my heart, Luke Dawson. I absolutely loved how this book made me fell! If you're looking for a sexy, feel good read-this is it! Madison and Luke are to broken people that mistakingly find each other and put each other back together. Super sexy and no BS story! It moved along fast but it felt genuine. I'm could feel the chemistry and the growing relationship between Madison and Luke even though it moved at a fast pace. They both knew what they wanted and went for it. The only problem is now I want my own Luke Dawson. Total alpha male and super possessive but in a sexy way, not overbearing. And a mountain man! Yes, please! Don't pass on this one. Looking forward to more in the Misadventures series!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

I was disappointed with this book.  I expected a much different book than I actually read.  So in this Misadventure we have Luke and Madison.  She's recently divorced and seeks a retreat away from her busy LA life to heal from her marriage.  Luke is a former Navy SEAL that has a pretty severe case of PTSD - or so it sounded like in the beginning of the story.

Really what this book turned out to be was a sex fest and co-dependency.  My expectations for a plot that gave a meaningful love story didn't come to fruition.  This couple latched onto one another and didn't let go.  I get it's fiction.  Totally understand that concept.  Except the fiction I like to read takes real life into consideration when written.

If you like stories with lots of sex this one is definitely for you!

I really hate to say it but I like almost nothing about Misadventures of a City Girl. I couldn't connect with Madison or Luke or them as a couple. Initially I was kind of on board, even after their first sexual encounter was so quick, but it just was a steady roll downhill after that. Their relationship kept shifting to the point I wasn't exactly sure what type of relationship was supposed to be happening. Neither of their actions made any sense. When they decided giving couple-dom a chance despite their lifestyle differences I quickly found myself not liking Madison at all for the way she pushed Luke. He clearly suffered from PTSD and no pussy is that magical he'd just shove past it. I also found myself concerned for Luke because he made comments that were borderline unhealthy which sent up red flags when he became so reliant on Madison for being able to almost function out side his norm. Which was a theme for him apparently as you learn during one of his conversations with her. I can get on board with insta-love sometimes, because sometimes it works. But for me, in "City Girl", it just didn't. It was just one thing after another that didn't work for me. My eyes got a fierce workout from this one.

Meredith Wild & Chelle Bliss seriously had me at Paul Bunyan, Mountain Man in this delectable, steamy romance! This Mountain Retreat Romance Novel hooks you in the very beginning with details from Madison Atwood's needing to escape the Hollywood Hills and why she is searching for an escape from her city lifestyle.

I LOVED the opening scene of the book, but when we get to Madison's actions in the secluded springs it is very unrealistic in my opinion. The scene is necessary I guess for the beginning connection for the two main characters, but its just interesting...

Luke & Madison have this amazing journey together hidden away in their mountainside cabin, but you will have to pick up the book to see if it can withstand their individual lifestyles as they try to navigate a more substansial relationship together.

"I want to stay here in this moment forever. But I know that she'll leave, and I'll go back to who I was before I found her in the woods, bathed in moonlight and sin."

Misadventures of a City Girl is the perfect escape for a reader that indulges in steamy, sexy romantic trysts where you will fall in love with Madison & Luke Dawson's electric chemistry!

Such an enjoyable story! The story line is amazing as two lonely souls find that a little compromise can lead to forever. The characters are intense and have a strong sexual attraction from the start. I really enjoyed this book!

The book is amazing. When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book all night.I abode the main character Luke and Madison. They could not be more opposite. She is a girl from LA, he is a mountain man and ex navy seal.Misadventures of a city girl is about opposites attracting, not letting the past hold you back and making things work.I first read Meredit Wilds hacked series and love reading her book.I also read a some of Chelle Bliss book. They should write more books together.
I received ARC from Netgalley for honest review.

5 Roughing It Stars is Sexy Stars!!

I'm a huge fan of Chelle Bliss and now because of her collaboration with Meredith Wild I've discovered a new to me author....yes, I've apparently been living under a rock since I've not read Ms. Wild in the past. Anywho, I absolutely loved this book!

While Madison and Luke appear to want different things in life, there is an undeniable chemistry between them. Madison is trying to recover from a nasty divorce from her cheating husband and Luke is former SEAL that lives in seclusion hiding from everything he's seen and done. One night when he spots Madison skinny dipping, he can't seem to turn away. He begins to fall for her before he's even met her. When they do come to face to face, we can feel the heat these two can generate.

When they're forced to spend time together in Luke's secluded cabin, is when we get an all consuming love story. Luke is a man that needs to be loved, even if doesn't want to admit it to anyone including himself, and Madison's heart needs to be healed. Luke is just the man to do it too. The connection both physical and emotional had my heart beating a staccato rhythm. There's a beauty and grace to their story that I wasn't expecting, and am so thrilled to have experienced.

Ms. Bliss and Ms. Wild have written a book that had me entranced from word one and as I read I fell more and more in love with this story. The amount of detail is so exquisite. I felt like I was in the woods with our H/h, I felt every nuance of the characters and their surroundings. The story moved at the exact right pace and the emotional tug of war between Luke and Madison was perfectly written.

Bravo Ladies, BRAVO!!!

This book was not for me. In this story, "misadventures" apparently means the heroine masturbating outside in the woods, being spied upon/caught by the hero while masturbating, walking into the hero's home the following day to catch him masturbating, then having sex with him. A stranger. Repeatedly. Ugh. Ugh is what I thought after the first few chapters. I like sexy times in my romance novels, but I need some buildup or at least some believable plot to create a whole story. This was one was heavy on the sex and real low on the plot and character development. I found the first person narration choppy and lacking any sense of flow. Likely because this was a lot of sex pieced together with minimal plot. Definitely more erotic romance than contemporary. I felt nothing for these characters and found their insta-love ridiculous. I only finished out of a sense of obligation since I had requested the book.

Holy hot Grizzly Adams! Leave your panties at the door cause your not going to need them!

Luke and Madison's epic chemistry explodes within these pages! Salaciously hot and stamina like you would not believe. These two rock the sheets so much even my lady parts were aching by the time they were done.

It's not just erotic, it's a story of rejuvenation. Picking up the pieces after life has knocked you down and these two authors do it with hawt words and feels.

A squirming in your seat, make you want your own mountain man read that you will love!

This is my first read by these authors and I'd heard some great things about them. However, this one didn't quite live up to my expectations. The writing style and flow are good, but while it was certainly erotic, the plot left something to be desired. I knew this one would be steamy and had no issue with that, but there wasn't much in the way of build-up or sexual tension between Madison and Luke. It felt like they were tearing each other's clothes off before I even had time to connect with either character or want to see them together. The sex scenes were good, but without some depth of the characters involved, it becomes just one sexy time after another that could be in any romance. Overall, it's not a bad story if you like erotica with a little story thrown in, but for this reader, it was just an okay read.

Whoa! Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss are quite a pair. Misadventures of a City Girl is a beautiful romance full of heart and feels. The hero Luke Dawson is an ex-Navy Seal who retires, choosing to live a secluded life in a small cabin on Avalon Springs mountain. For five years he enjoys peace, the beauty of nature and solitude. That is until Madison shows up and rocks his world. Madison is married to her high school sweet heart who went on to become a Hollywood hotshot. Madison thought she had it all but turns out her d**che bag of a husband was unfaithful. Madison escaped to Avalon Springs for some peace and quiet and a little “private time” at the hot springs, but did she? LOL J Luke and Madison have unbelievable chemistry. The two are instantly attracted to each other. They embark on a passionate and intense physical relationship but soon after it turns to more. Luke has seen too much in his time in the military – he can no longer cope with the people, the noises and the hectic nature of life. His existence is set in the mountains while Madison’s life is back in LA. Can they make it work?

I love everything about this book. The hero is broken and flawed but full of love and he deserves so much more. The heroine has been hurt and betrayed in the worst way possible. She needs someone who understands and loves her for who she is. The romance between Madison and Luke is sweet and oh so sizzling HOT – two attractive people in a small cabin? Yeah, they can’t keep their hands off each other for a minute… GAH! Besides the erotic steamy sexual chemistry though, this is a sweet beautiful romance. The two met by chance but they are meant to be. The writing is seamless by both authors – their style is so similar you really cannot tell. Fantastic read! I’m looking forward to book 2 of the series.

Don't let my 3-star rating fool you. This book is fun, light, sexy, and enjoyable.
I guess I just expected more...drama. Tension. Fight. Something.

Characters: 4 stars
Sex: 5 stars
Story: 2 stars
Average: 3.67

But, again, this book is still fun and flirty. I laughed out loud on numerous occasions and couldn't get enough of Luke and Mad. That's probably why I finished it in a matter of hours and only stopped to sleep--and I was reluctant to do that.

Add in the fact that this book was promo'd using the beautiful Brock O'Hurn and I couldn't stop the gorgeous images drifting through my mind. That kind of imagery is hard to ignore.

Madison is recently divorced and wants a break from the hustle and bustle of the city that has consumed her. The city that has plastered her ex-husband everywhere. She finds Avalon and immediately books a month long stay at the spa/springs/resort in the mountains.

Luke is ex-Navy. His self-imposed exile is one of necessity. He couldn't take the city life after his final tour and relished the quiet of the mountain. He enjoys working the land, the silence, and the routine.

That is, until Madison shows up on his property and throws his entire world for a loop. To say that Luke twists Madison up as well is an understatement. These two are drawn to each other immediately.

It's hot. The sex is hot. There is no question that the sex is the focal point here. And for good reason. Luke and Madison are young, hot, and DTF.

Pros of this book:
Brock O'Hurn is Luke. Or Luke is Brock O'Hurn. Doesn't matter because he's gorgeous either way you cut it.
The sex. Yes, oh yes! The sex is oh so good. You might want a little fan for your...um..face. Yes. That's it.
The banter. I loved the banter between Luke and Madison. They gave each other a hard time and didn't hold back. No coddling here. Just the way I like it.
Indigo. The Avalon owners. The "extras" that weren't jerks. Those are good people. Lou is good people. And he's great at the advice giving.

Cons of this book:
I felt like there were too many unanswered scenarios. Or scenarios that weren't played to their fullest. Like the guy with the camera? Where's the drama there? Jeremy? Susan? I think those things could have been more and this story would have done more than scratch an itch. It would have made me FEEL.
Nope. That's it. That's the only con. Or downside.

So, like I said, it may not really be a downside. I think it all depends on what you're searching for--at that time--in a book. Me, I guess I was in the mood for more story and less sex. Or at least more story. Not sure if I ever want less sex. If you want a light, fluffy read, then this is for you

Madison Atwood is recently divorced, while her life is splashed on all the tabloids. She escapes to Avalon Springs to find herself and seek peace. What she doesn't expect is to come across Luke Dawson, who lives alone in the woods and prefers his solidarity. Together they're stuck in his cabin during a storm, and what was supposed to only be a fling turns into much more.
They both have their reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship, Luke wants nothing to do with people or civilization, but doesn't want to lose Madison. When the past catches up with them, it turns into a whirlwind, and you're left wondering how it could possibly work out.
A great story, with loveable characters. Definitely a wonderful start to the Misadventures series!

Misadventures of a City Girl - MEREDITH WILD & CHELLE BLISS

I received this book for an honest and unbiased review.

I've found my new obsession with this series of stories, this being the first released in the Misadventures series. If they're all as good as this one, I'll be in bibliophile heaven.

Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss have created a wonderfully passionate, sexy and heart stirring story of letting go of the past to embrace the future.

Madison Atwood, recently divorced wife of Hollywood hotshot Jeremy Cleary is battling with Rejection, Hope, Failure, & Determination but doesn't seem to be able to fight her way back to finding herself. Jeremy did such a number on her, with his philandering ways that everything just seems too huge for her to vote with so she decides to remove herself from the endless stream of paparazzi fodder she's become, taking a break at The Avalon springs retreat in the mountains.

Luke Dawson has seen the most horrendous things as a former navy seal. He's also done things, no man should ever have to endure and lives with his demons in his mountain side cabin high above Avalon Springs retreat. What he doesn't count on is the intrusion on his seclusion by the naked woman in the warm springs in how her presence will change him indelibly.

**4.5 Stars**

I went into this book blind and was pleassantly surprised at how well the story flowed and how much I enjoyed the book. This is a story of a recent divorcee who escapes her fast paced life by taking a trip to a secluded spa, and a man who has all but left civilization and resides on a mountain far away from everyone due to his past. The chemistry between Luke and Madison was off the charts HOT. They connected quickly on a deep level and their relationship took off from there. This was a fairly fast-paced read. It was sweet, steamy and engaging. A highly enjoyable read!!!

Mountain man, you say? Where do I sign up? Talk about jumping right into the fire! There's no getting to know each other first before these two authors give us some pretty hot sex scenes.

Madison is taking a break from city life up on a mountain resort after her cheating husband divorces her once his acting career takes off. She doesn't want to partake in the social activities of the resort once she arrives, so she takes a hike on one of the trails that lead to a spring. This is where she meets our mountain man, former Seal, Luke as he watches her skinny dip....and more.

Luke is hiding out from life after some pretty tough missions as a Navy Seal. He no longer feels a part of society and has lived off the grid for the past 5 years. He doesn't want to give into the temptation of city girl Madison, but he just can't resist her.

There's a little bit of push/pull while these two try to resist each other but when they stop resisting, it's pretty smokin. Luke is an Alpha male, but displays insecurities. Madison starts out as a wounded woman, but soon shows some steel the more time she spends with Luke.

This is a pretty fast paced story with a whole lot of sexy times. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Interesting read. I wasn't sure at the beginning if I would like this book. It's definitely a hot sex read. The circumstances of Madison & Luke's meeting was definitely out of the normal. The book got better as it went along & I enjoyed the relationship that they forged while dealing with their pasts & present lives.
