Madison Atwood was ready to start over. She wanted a change after a divorce that reminded her that everything changes and nothing remains the same. Desperate to get away she heads to a retreat that promises more than a way to forget her past, finally moving on, and soaking up the attention of the local resident, Luke Dawson. Luke needs the seclusion of the mountain to quiet the demons associated with PTSD. He has seen and what he has experienced is something he cannot forget. Meeting Madison finally brings him back to life in a way nothing else could ever do.
Madison and Luke deliver a hot and steamy story. Madison is a Hollywood makeup artist just divorced from her high school sweetheart, who just happened to have grown up to be a leading man. Wanting to get away from the media and so-called friends, Madison goes to a mountain retreat and when she gets lost, she finds Luke. Luke is a former Navy SEAL suffering from PTSD and regrets his past, so he's hiding on the mountain. The two have a hot and heavy vacation fling, but can they make it more? Will they be able to mix their worlds and make a go of it, or are they doomed from the beginning, especially when Madison's ex shows up?
This book nearly burned the house down. We are talking HOT. In addition to the heat, Wild and Bliss (is there a better sounding erotic author combo than *that*?!) deliver well-developed, likeable characters and a story of two love-shy people drawn together despite their insanely different lives. Absolutely loved it.

Overall, this was a good book. The real star of the story for me was Luke. He wasn't perfect, but I really connected with him. What he'd been through was beyond tough, and I hurt for him in his isolation and loneliness. The way that he treated Madison---like she was precious---was one of my favorite things about him. He was a true gentleman. Even though he'd be alone for years, he hadn't forgotten human decency. Luke was a great, great man.
Madison had also been through a lot, and she was dealing with her divorce in the best way she knew how. There were times I really liked her and times that I didn't, but overall, she appreciated Luke and that was what was most important to me.
This isn't a long story, but it's packed full of hot sex and a riveting story. I'm looking forward to more from this series.
I loved this story about Hollywood makeup artist Madison Atwood who is trying to straighten her head and heart by escaping to a spa resort in the wilds of Northern California. She tries to get away from everyone by wondering off into the woods, which results in the start of her encounters with intensely hot recluse Luke Dawson. On the face of it they have nothing in common except their powerful attraction but they both have suffered loss and are still struggling to recover from past traumas. Meredith & Chelle have done great job of drawing us into their intense relationship.
I love the opposite attracts storyline! This is one sexy book with off the charts chemistry between the hero and heroine. Luke and Maddison meet each other in a hilarious scene. When a city girl and a reclusive, mountain man meet, they didn't know they were missing something until they found each other. Beautiful. "Misadventures of a City Girl" is a light, yet steamy, read that's hard to put down. I gobbled the story right up! I love the seamless collaboration between authors, too! Fantastic work. Can't wait to read more from this series!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Madison has just got divorced from her cheating Hollywood husband and needs to get away to sort herself out. She finds a remote resort further north in California, and books herself a room for four weeks, to rethink her life. When she gets there she thinks it is a bit to 'hippy' in outlook. She goes off by herself, walking through the woods, and is startled by a man watching her. Luke is an ex navy SEAL, he has been suffering from severe PTSD and has hidden himself away in a small shack up in the mountains, well away from people. He is mostly self-sufficient, travelling down into the town only to pick up supplies of the things he cannot sort out for himself. There is an instant attraction between them, and soon they cannot bear it when they are not together.
This is a very emotional story, very sexy, and moves forward at a brisk pace. The characters are quite believable.
Madison has to go back to Los Angeles, and Luke doesn't go with her, but after a few hours on his own again he needs her, and sets off after her. Their compromise between her need for the city for her work, and his need to be away from people is perfect, and the happy ending is perfect too.
OMG. I truly enjoyed this novel. Madison is taking a break at a spa resort after her divorce from her cheating ex is finalized. She’s having semi private personal happy time (hey, she thought she was alone) but she is being watched by a SEXY mountain man. The chemistry between these two is great. I appreciate reading about the reason behind Luke’s self-prescribed isolation, unfortunately it is not uncommon. I found myself laughing out loud at times, I enjoyed this so much. Great start to series, I look forward to more.
Madison leaves LA behind to attend a retreat after her divorce becomes final. She and Luke stumble upon each other when she is in a compromising position. Luke and Madison are both intrigued. Madison stumbles right into Luke's cabin and finds him in a compromising position. So begins their tale. Each of them come from separate worlds and it was interesting to watch them try and find some common ground. Each have been burned in the past and neither was looking for love in their lives. I liked how each pushed the other out of their comfort zone. The story was pure in that there weren't a lot of side characters to keep track of. The story mainly centered on these 2 and it was nicely done. It was a quick, easy read that flowed well and kept me quite interested to see what was going to happen. I was glad to have received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley for an honest review. If you like the writing of either of these authors, you will like this book.
City girl meets Mountain man = hot and sizzling chemistry. This is my first read from these authors and I loved it. I was hooked from the first page and read it in one sitting. Great characters and storyline......I'd like to know what happens in the next phase of their story.
Rushed story line and felt underdeveloped. Would have liked a little more character and story development instead of girl sees boy: falls in love/lust, boy sees girl: falls in love/lust and last 10 years of life and issues are no longer a problem because he loves someone after 10 seconds.
This was one really well written book. The story line was simple but worked so well, chemistry was smoking and I couldn't put the book down. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did! Definetly will be checking out other books in this series.
Oh this book is so hot and steamy and I loved every word! I want a hot mountain man too! I hate how broken this divorce left her but I was so happy that she took some time to find herself again. Once they both let down their guards and got to know each other and have a crazy amount of sex, I was rooting for these two to make it work! I loved that he left his mountain cabin to come down to her LA house. It was such a pivotal point in this book and it was just perfect! Fun, adventurous characters really made this book fun to read! Loved everything about this book and I can't wait to read more from these authors!!
Great book, loved the wounded mountain man, Luke . I think a little more drama with the ex(s) would have made it more interesting but overall I really enjoyed the book.
This book was very good. Madison needs to get away from the Hollywood scene to get herself together after a divorce. She stays at a relaxation and meditation resort and starts out on a Journey. An Ex-Navy Seal named Luke catches her in the hot springs and the feelings start to show themselves. They "take care" and help each other with the past and enjoy the storm coming in the scenery. An issue takes Madison home and leaves them with decisions to make about the future. I loved the bar scene (Madison was right in what she said). The ending is beautiful and made the story worth reading again.
I received this book through NetGalley for an honest review.
After reading the blurb and hearing about this series i really wanted to read this, I loved the blurb and a big fan of the authors, The flow of the story was perfect, It doesn't feel rush but happens nicely, Madison and Luke where fun getting to know as there chemistry was of the charts hot, I would say they had inst-love cause feel quite quickly. But i love it like that cause when you know you know. Over all this is a great story about a woman getting her life back and a man finding that life doesn't always go the way you want and that sometimes that's a good thing.
Misadventures of a City Girl has one of my favorite romance tropes - two strange people find themselves stranded together in a remote cabin due to bad weather or some other calamity. They get to know each other, fall in love, and have a lot of mind-blowing sex while unable to leave the house. For this reason I was very excited to get my hands on this book.
I quite liked Madison and Luke. They are both very interesting characters: Madison is a city girl, who has just divorced from a famous Hollywood actor, and Luke is a former Navy Seal, who struggles with civil life after his discharge and choses to live in isolation. They have such interesting backgrounds but I found them to be one-dimensional despite their potential. I wish there was more character development. Also I enjoyed the first part of the book a lot more than the second part. In the second part things started to happen very quickly and it felt very rushed and unsatisfying.
Misadventures of a City Girl is a quick, fun read with not a lot of depth. Overall I enjoyed this book but I wanted more character development and more even pacing.

Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss are two spectacular writers and put together this was nothing short of amazing! What a way to kick off this new Misadventures series!
Madison Atwood is going through a terrible time. She's coming off a high-profile divorce and the last thing she wants is to be tailed around Los Angeles by the gossip seeking paparazzi. In order to get away and to try to center herself again, she decides to head to a mountain retreat known as Avalon Springs. She's searching for solitude and herself, but is she going to find more than that?
Luke Dawson enjoys plenty of that solitude that Madison is looking for. He's lived up on this mountain for years after serving in the armed forces, living off the land with none of the creature comforts most of us are used to. And, he's more than fine with that. Luke sees a beautiful woman frolicking in the hot springs and she definitely catches his attention, but he can tell right away she's a city girl and that is the last thing he wants in his life. Or so he thinks.
When Madison stumbles upon Luke's cabin, the sparks fly immediately. There is no shortage of passion and heat between these two. The question becomes are their lives too different for them to make it work? They've both been hurt and while they are feeling things they haven't felt for years, will that be enough?
This was a hot and sexy book for sure. The chemistry between Luke and Madison sizzles with every passing page. This was a fantastic start to this new Misadventures Series and I can't wait to get my hands on future installments!
great read. these two authors flow together. loved the book, great chemistry.
