Pleasantly surprised by the story. Wasn't sure what to expect from the excerpt I'd read. This is definitely a story of opposites attracting and overcoming obstacles. Madison is used to being in the spotlight. While Luke does his best to remain on his own. Throw them together and the chemistry is off the charts.

Misadventures of a City Girl by Meredith Wild & Chelle Bliss is the new start of a Series Called "Misadventures". Each “misadventure” is written by different author and for this it is written by two authors- Meredith Wild & Chelle Bliss.
This is the story of Madison Atwood and Luke Dawson. Madison just got went through a horrible divorce and she left Hollywood for the rest and relaxation in the woods. What she thought was supposed to be her time to unwind and clear her mind turned out to be one grand adventure with a sexy and moody ex- Navy Seal named Luke Dawson. Both Madison and Luke are trying to heal their wounds and each started off trying to fight the attraction they feel towards one another but fate comes in to play big time. You don’t want to miss this story!!! I wish it was a full length novel, that is how awesome it is.

5☆ Hot, Steamy, Sexy and will leave you wanting more!

The Misadventures of a City Girl is the very first book in the Misadventures series.
It was also my first book by Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss.

The Misadventures of a city girl is sexy, fun, Passionate, sensitive.and emotional.

When Madison finally gets her divorce through, she knows she needs a change of scenery to escape the reality.
So she packs up and sets off to North Carolina and the wilderness that offers the calm and tranquillity she craves.

So when Madison meets Luke things are about to get a whole lot steamy.

Luke is Ex Navy who retires to the secluded Avalon Springs.
He is not used to being around people. He enjoys the quiet back to Nature lifestyle and that's exactly how he likes it.
The effects of his job have clearly impacted Luke and his need to be secluded and away from the hustle and bustle.

Well that is until Madison comes to Avalon Springs looking for the exact same thing. They both have no idea that their encounter at the spa that night would turn into a whirlwind of sex, lust, passion and love!

Madison and Luke have an instant connection. But WOW do they push each other's buttons.
Madison and Luke couldn't be more opposite, but as the saying goes.... opposites attract!.... and Wow do the attract!!

Being stuck together in a small cabin, it's only a matter of time before it's not just the fire that's flaming!!

The chemistry between them is electric and they simply sizzle, they just can't keep their hands off each other, devouring each other.

What starts off with a lustful relationship soon turns into something very special.
Madison goes there to heal her broken heart but she may of just fixed it and fell in love again.

This book is a must read for those wanting an exciting hot, fast sexy read that will leave you wanting more but at the same time plays with your emotions.

Would I recommend this book...... 100% ....YES!!!!....Bring on Book 2!!

This standalone story from this series was a great read that had me hooked from the start. Madison and Luke's story was a fast moving story that was one hot read. The pair had chemistry and baggage by the truck load. Madison trying to heal herself from her recent divorce and Luke from his past service with the SEALS. The pair find their way and have one hot tale in its wake to form into a strong couple. I enjoyed this book from the start and would recommend it to others.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy via NetGalley.

This was such a hot read. A powerhouse duo together, Wild and Bliss are a steamy package. Madison and Luke had great chemistry and just burned up the pages.

I am a big fan of both Chelle Bliss and Meredith Wild and I was super excited to begin this Misadventures series. But unfortunately, Misadventures of a City Girl just didn't work for me. I didn't connect with either of the leading characters at all. I found myself skimming the beginning trying to find an entry point that would draw me in and carry me forward to read their full story. But it just didn't happen for me. DNF at 22%.

Madison felt she was the complete picture of a miserable divorcee. Madison thought when all the paperwork had been finalized something would change….. She herself would change . Madison was no longer the wife of the rising star. The failure of her marriage had been a devastating blow to Madison can't let her famous and infamously unfaithful husband Jeremy ruin her future. Although sometimes it feels to Madison like Jeremy was everywhere. Clients, gigs, and friends were still in their circle and Madison felt like she needed to get away from L A. Madison had stood by faithfully as Jeremy rose to fame. Jeremy and madison had met as naive fumbling teenagers they have been together every since. Madison had been stupid in love with Jeremy then. Madison started to look for a spa retreat as she needed a real break, something restorative. Something that could heal all the tears in her heart. Madison needed some quiet time, maybe a few massages, and some fresh mountain air. Then she sees Avalon Springs - home cooked meals, yoga classes, a few outdoor excursions and big blocks of time to help people recenter themselves. The owners look like hippies and the place doesn’t look like a convoluted trap for the prima donnas Madison is hoping to take a break from. So Madison booked a four week stay. Once there at Avalon Springs a young girl tells Madison orientation is in an hour but it was more like a meet and greet. Madison would introduce herself to the other residents, do some breathing exercises and stretching and Vic and Lori will talk a little more about the springs. But Madison didn’t want to go to orientation. And she already felt she may have made an utter mistake coming to Avalon Springs. The landscape was different from anything Madison was used to. She’d been an East Coast Girl all her life, working on her career and then when Jeremy came out west to work on his career Madison came with him. Tears burned Madison’s eyes because she is so utterly alone. Madison had been walking for awhile and night is coming on and she doesn’t know where she is or where she is going but then she hears water and shortly after finds she finds a clearing a well of steamy water at the center. The temperature of the water was perfect. Madison figures this is the springs and she is free to go in. So Madison strips and gets in the water. Nothing ever felt so good. Then Madison feels the need of a man and one who won’t break her all over again. Madison tries to get herself off but just get herself there but then she can see a man through the trees and screams. Luke was not sure why he had stopped to watch her. Another city girl from the retreat. Luke moves closer as Madison goes back in the water to hide her nakedness. Then Luke asked Madison if she knew her way back and offered to take her back to the retreat Luke told Madison she was at least a mile from the retreat Luke hadn’t been with a woman in a long time and he despises everything this one probably stands for. Luke is hot for the woman but a week in the mountains is a fashion statement for most of the people who come to the resort. Luke had came to the mountain for solitude and peace, and a simple life. After her swim Madison had no makeup on and Luke felt she was perfectly gorgeous with no effort.Restful sleep had eluded Madison since the news of Jeremy’s infidelity was in every gossip magazine and newspaper in town. The phone calls and texts had kept her awake and unable to move on. The man in the woods had looked at Madison with pure lust the was Jeremy used to before he strayed. Luke’s grandfather had left him this land over fifty acres of mountaintop. Luke hadn’t planned on living there. But after his last tour of duty and release from the service Luke thought about going to his old life and being part of civilian society sent Luke into a tailspin. Luke had put his own blood, sweat, and tears into his place and made it a home. It was suppose to be Luke’s escape , his haven from the outside world. Luke had thought he would have the American Dream - get married, buy a house, and have kids to fill it. But his time in the military messed that up. Luke thought he had been prepared for whatever he was going to experience while in the service . Before joining the Navy Luke had dreams of a normal life, none of them had involved living in the woods high up a mountain living alone. Luke had seen and done things he didn't want to relive or repeat. Luke didn’t have any issues until his last tour of duty. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to their assignments. The violence seemed endless. By the time Luke was discharged as a decorated Navy Seal Luke couldn’t imagine going back to “ normal life”. Luke’s PTSD was so severe that even the sound of a car backfiring could set Luke off. The only cure was self imposed isolation. Luke could function around people when he has to. Violence wasn’t Luke’s style or in his nature. Luke had sworn to serve and protect not attack and scare. One minute the woman was frightened the next touching him.The contact had shocked him, completely rocked Luke to his core. Luke grows his own food and raises livestock and cuts wood everyday to have enough wood to heat his cabin through winter and any other cold weather. The woman had worked erh way into Luke’s mind and shows up at Luke’s cabin while Luke was trying to take care of himself as he was so sexually frustrated especially after seeing her naked and doing the same thing. Madison doesn’t turn away from Luke . They enter into an intense sexual relationship. But then feelings start to grow but Luke knows his limitations and can’t leave his mountain. And Madison’s life is in L A. Luke felt Madison had saved him but Madison he had actually saved her and turned her into the woman she was always meant to be. \This was a very sweet, sexy easy enjoyable read and I loved it. I loved how Luke could not look away from Madison when she was at the springs and she didn’t look away from him in his cabin. The chemistry between Madison and Luke jumped right off the page. I loved the plot and the pace. While reading this book I didn't want to put this down, good thing it was a novella but I did want more. I loved how Luke nor Madison could fight their feelings no matter what they did. But I loved them together. I felt this was a realistic story that could happen. I loved seeing the growth between Madison and Luke. I wish I had a Luke in my life but he will just have to be one of my favorite book boyfriends. I couldn’t find anything to complain about and that is always great when reading a book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this story. Madison was a city girl through and through. Luke was a mountain man all the way (mostly due to his service as a SEAL). She burst into his life and just flat out changed it. He didn't go easily but they loved each other and learned to compromise. I loved how they both tried to help the other one with their problems. All and all - very good story. I look forward to more of this series.

I Enjoyed this book.

Madison Atwood is a recently divorced woman, and desperately needs a break. And so, she ends up at a retreat in the middle of nowhere. Here she meets Luke Dawson, who prefers to live a solitary life in the woods.

Madison is a City girl - not in a snobbish or a prude sort of way. But she is practical and cannot stay off the Grid. She is an emotional mess right now and is trying to move on after her divorce.

Luke Dawson is the hot, sweet guy who hasn't had any contact with women in a long time, until he meets Madison. They have an instant Chemistry and sparks flying around them.

This book was a very quick read for me. There was a LOT OF SEX..It was not a problem, but it got too much at a point. There was a good character development throughout the book. The book didn't span over a long period of time, so it was commendable to see the characters develop over this time.

The plot was a little predictable. But it was a good read. I Recommend.

Misadventures of a city girl is very much a must read. The sex scenes between Maddy and Luke are hot and steamy.

This one made me want to take an extended mountain vacation! I was initially concerned that was going to be too much 'insta-love', but the character development was actually pretty on point. I immediately fell in love with Luke and was rooting for his happy ending through the whole story. The bar scene made me was to scream!! It kind of combines a few different tropes together and for being a rather short story, it does a remarkable job at making it all mesh and work. Oh, and the sex is scorching hot!!

Madison Atwood’s need to escape from the gossip and drudgery of ‘keeping up appearances’ in Hollywood leads her on one hell of an adventure, and while she never thought she would be one to believe in and experience the adage of the best way to get over someone was to get under someone else, all it takes is one lonely and sexy mountain man to send her body and her mind into overdrive, allowing a city girl completely out of her element to redefine herself while also proving to someone who would rather not spend time with other people that the right person can be worth the interruption of his solitary life.Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss have collaborated on one erotic story of misadventure in the most delicious and sensual ways, and while I would have liked more character development and a bit more understanding of who Luke Dawson was/is, I also understand that Madison and Luke’s novella is meant to be about an unexpected journey that goes off the rails but turns into something that both of them desperately needed even if they didn’t realize it when they first met.

And now that the Misadventures series has begun, I can’t wait to see what the other authors’ texts have in store for readers because I’m sure they’ll be as unpredictable and entertaining as the City Girl’s misadventure.

3.5 Poison Apples

I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't ! I have to say the sexy times were good the rest of the story was just ridiculous and I couldn't get into it.

This is a great start to a series that I want to have in my hands both physically and electronically. We've heard the hype for months and seen the clip of Brock O'Hurn which that in itself is enough to have us picturing him as we read...WINNER! Add in all that and a really good plot and storyline, you've got the makings of a totally great 2 hour movie. The authors did a tremendous job working together to pull this off and I hope that all the books in this line are going to be as good. I'm not giving anything on this one away. There's laughter and angst, but just enough to keep you in the book...oh just go buy it already!!

I was given an ARC copy of this book by the publisher/author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of love against the odds. It is extremely well written, the story flowed smoothly and with a pace that kept me engaged without being difficult to follow.

Madison was such a wonderful, girl next door character and I loved her. She wasn't impossibly beautiful or perfect and was both likeable and believable. Luke is a rugged mountain man with a heart of gold and a sexy body. Even when he blew a little hot and cold with Madison, hearing his doubts and worries made it understandable.

The book is written from both main characters POV's, allowing you to really get a feel for them and understand them. There are only a few support characters, and we don't really spend much time with any of them. I wouldn't say they were underdeveloped, it was more that with their limited interaction you don't really get to 'know' them.

There were some very steamy scenes between Madison and Luke, their chemistry was off the charts and yet very real too. Whilst it was a touch too insta-love for my preferences, they had been together almost 24/7 since meeting. I totally bought into their compromise on lifestyle/living arrangements. It felt a very natural and organic process, rather than being forced by the authors to 'fit' and testament to their awesome writing skills. In fact these two authors really complement each others styles.

I was so very pleased that this didn't fit the usual 'boy meets girl/ they're happy, they split up/ they get back together' model. The story had it's own angst and emotion driven by Madison and Luke's pasts and didn't need any trite, overused and cliched writing tropes. The book left me feeling all warm and fuzzy and very pleased that I had read it.

Favorite Quotes:

Groveling will help… Couldn’t stay married this long without eating a few slices of humble pie… Remember you’re wrong, she’s right, and it’ll always turn out in your favor.

I’ve never been so present with someone. It probably had to do with the lack of distractions. No cell phones, television, or Internet makes focusing on each other inescapable.

In the center is a king size bed made out of thick logs… “I made it myself.” Luke’s chest puffs out with pride… “I made sure its construction would stand up to rigorous use.”

My Review:

Madison was an LA girly-girl in transition as a recently betrayed, humiliated, and freshly divorced woman who is still smarting from being dumped by her first love/movie star husband. She treats herself to a month-long mountain spa retreat where she happens across a hermit/mountain man/Greek god/sexy lumberjack/Former Decorated Navy SEAL, who lives quietly and off the grid to accommodate his PTSD and rippling muscles. Of course, they have off the charts sexual chemistry and set fire to the sheets like adolescent bunny rabbits. Oh my, the storyline was highly sensual, smokin’ hot, and highly likely to cause dehydration, even for a nun. There was a transformative, sweet, and curative love story evolving during and between all the erotic sex and I actually adored this couple together.
