When you find the one thing you need and try to convince yourself it can't possibly work. An opposites attract with spice as two people work through their past to figure out if what they've found could be "the one" beyond the physical connection.
I thought this was adorable. I think I was happy with the way that Davis handled things. I thought he was going to go into monogamy kicking and screaming but he was totally all in.
I was mad a Grace a couple of times but I was glad that she got her head out of her butt and got it together.
The epilogue was cute, but I have to say, I would like to see more of them. I hope this isn't the end of the series. I really like Grace and Davis as well as Jackie and Vince.

This was a good enemies to lovers romance from Jessica Lemmon. Although I'm not a big fan of anything remotely instalove/instalust, I still liked the characters. Grace and Davis definitely had chemistry and were both two people with difficult childhoods.
"Arm Candy" is the second book in the Real Love series.
I really liked the premise with the female bartender and her regular guest but I have to say that I am not completely happy with the story.
I think the setting has lots of potential and I was looking foward to some great romance but the characters remain a bit shallow unfortunately. I was missing some sparks and fire between them especially because Grace is a very extrovert character who is always saying what she is thinking.
The story was still kind of entertaining although the romance felt very rushed and I didn't fully connect with the characters.
The writing style was ok but sometimes I was stumbling over the words.
This was such a great read, fun, and sexy! I loved Davis and Grace so much! Grace was awesome, I loved her attitude. There was some really great banter happening between her and Davis and I ate it up. They had fantastic chemistry together, I loved them fighting their feelings and then watching it grow until it pretty much exploded. Davis is such a likable guy but has some issues he’s dealing with, I liked him working things out and moving forward.
I felt this was a solid story though at times it felt slow and drawn out. There was a good build and I enjoyed the overall storyline. There were great details and liked their back and forth, the conflict, emotion, and heat.
This was fast-paced and witty read and I really enjoyed it!
This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine, Davis and Grace. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.
This was great! Grace and Davis have such chemistry. Both hold back a bit, but it was great watching them open up. There was a point where I wanted to shake Grace, but thankfully she came to her senses :)
The audio was fantastic! Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are some of my favorite narrators.
I didn't think it was possible for Jessica Lemmon to top the previous book in the series, but Arm Candy was just as good as Eye Candy! The connection between Grace and Davis had always been there and I loved watching it deepen. It just felt so natural! I kept wishing for this book to not end! But, alas all good books do! Now, on to the next one! :D
Whew! Davis is so much more than he seems! If you read Eye Candy then you saw glimpses that he was more than just playboy looking for the next blonde but now with Grace we get and even deeper look at him. I loved the playfulness of the dialogue and depth of emotion. This one of my new fave Lemmons!!!
I finished this book a while ago and I am just noticing that I didn't leave my review, so lets fix that. I had so much fun reading this book, there were so many LOL moments because the banter between Grace and Davis was great.
Davis and Grace were both introduced in the first book, Eye Candy, where Davis' best friend Vince's gets his HEA and I'm thrilled to say we get to see Vince and Jackie in Arm Candy. Grace is one of the bartenders at the guys favorite bar and lets just say this feisty, tatted, non-blond is soooo not Davis' type It's actually kinda comical when you put her next to his usual conquests. But wow do opposites attract it's like magnetic chemistry or something. These two really do know how to heat up the sheets!
I really enjoyed this book and it was a great addition to the series, I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for us next. Happy Reading!!!
Not a manwhore fan some people love that premise but not me. I just wasn't a fan of this book. Usually I read them fast this took me a bit.
ARM CANDY - Jessica Lemmon
SEXY and SWEET
#2 in the Real Love romance series
Plot - 4 stars - Davis (friend of Vince in Book #1) and serial dater of blondes has his eye on Grace, the hot red-headed bartender at the local hangout. She, for her part, is a cautious dater, always anticipating the ending before really getting started. When they decide to date (on a dare), their chemistry kicks in and things immediately start to happen between them. But this relationship thing is new to both of them, so they're wondering how it will all end up.
Writing - 4 stars - Lemmon draws me right into the story with her very appealing characters. Even though there wasn't a huge plot or story here, I was still compelled to turn the pages and see what happened with these two attractive people. Smooth, seamless, this story moved forward quickly.
Characters - 4.5 stars - Davis is awesome, despite his seeming tendency to date (and bed) any female that comes into his orbit. We learned a little bit about his character in the first book, but this time we really get to know him a lot better. He's such a warm character. He's amazing at his job of stock analyst, he's well-dressed, and he has a warm and generous heart. Grace, on the other hand, is shy about dating, keeping a very close eye on her heart. She grew up in a dysfunctional family and is gunshy about relationships. She loves her job, though, and her fun personality shines through. Friend Vince is a good secondary sidekick, as well as Grace's friend Rox. And Davis's grandmother Rose is terrific.
Title - 3.5 stars - There's really no reason for this title except that it continues the theme from the first book. Sure, the characters are hot and attractive, but the title simply catches your eye and doesn't have a lot to do with the story.
Cover - 4 stars - A hot guy in a suit is a definite turn-on, even more than a naked ab guy.
Overview - 4 stars - Sweet, warm, nice book. This book was all about relationships. We follow Grace and Davis, of course. But it's also got updates on Vince and Jackie as well as Rox and Mark. Even Grace's parents' marriage is mentioned (although that's not necessarily a good thing). When I think about it, there really wasn't a whole lot of action, but the relationship between Davis and Grace was fun to watch. It grew slowly and carefully, despite themselves. And I was definitely rooting for them to succeed.
I really liked the modern contemporary feel. I like that the characters had relatable flaws, and weren't "perfect". Full of good, believable chemistry.
Grace is a spitfire red headed bartender issues a bet to HOT Samuel Adams drinking, suit wearing customer Davis. Davis pursues the bet. "Packages" are offered, emojis are sent and the fun begins.
As dates approaches, people surface, issues arise the true picture evolves as does ones true character
I read Eye Candy and it was okay, and I have to admit I had my expectations kind of high for this one, but it ended up disappointing me a bit. I loved Davis in the first book because he was all tall, dark, and handsome with that brooding bad boy attitude, but his story kind of fell a bit flat for me. Good, but not great.
Hot guys falling in love who can not love this type of story. They are all dealing with something different and a challenge on resisting love. Each of the women that they fall in love have their own reasons for resisting them. The great thing was the challenge that they each presented them.
Honestly I just couldn’t make it thought the end of the book. I like a good enemies to lovers story but this just wasn’t that. It wasn’t particularly a fun read nor drmatic or angsty. It just felt like the story was going through the phases to end up where it was supposed to.
This book was so much fun! Snark and banter and romance all rolled into this spectacularly enjoyable read. Davis has his own chair at the bar where he drinks Sam Adams and watches CNN while exchanging barbs with the flame haired bartender, Grace. We met both of them in the previous book, however, this one could definitely be read as a standalone. Davis is infamous for taking home blondes, only blondes and Grace issues a bet with him that he will not change his ways and date a non-blonde. Davis takes her up on this and challenges her to the date. This is where all the fun begins. The chemistry between these too is OFF THE CHARTS. Who would believe it! This was so well written and so good the pages nearly melted away until I was at the end and sad it was over. I'm glad there is another in this series, though. I definitely recommend this one!
