I really wanted to like Backstrap based on its description. I read 2/3 of it before I decided enough was enough. I can see how it will appeal to other people. I didn't care for the characters, and the plot, while certainly current, just didn't keep my interest. I found myself reading 5 or 10 pages and putting it down to do something else.
