Another well-paced, great read from Sandra Brown. The plot twists and surprises kept me interested.
Wow what a great suspense novel. Sandra Brown has delivered again! Seeing Red has a great plot, setting and cast of characters. Loved it.
Calling all Sandra Brown fans..!
A bombing at the Pegasus Hotel in Dallas 25 years ago forever changes the lives of father and son. The father, Major Franklin Trapper becomes a hero in the eyes of the world. While son John, known to all by Trapper, is left behind in more ways than one. Now, on the anniversary of the bombing, Kerra, a reporter in Dallas wants to interview the Major. But with no access, she approaches his son Trapper to hopefully open doors to his father.
Her motivation for the meeting is more than just an interview. She has her own connection to that fateful day.
Trapper does not want the Interview to take place. He fears it will once again place the spotlight back on his father - putting his life, and likely Kerra's in danger. The burden to keep everyone safe is now squarely on Trapper’s shoulders. Which is difficult when he believes the guilty party was never brought to justice in the first place.
The perfect amount of suspense to keep the pages turning with just a bit of romance for those that enjoy a little heat between the pages. As Always Sandra Brown delivers both perfectly. Easy to follow and lots of action to hold your attention. Great surprises you'll never see coming! Highly recommend for all Sandra Brown fans!
Thank you to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and Sandra Brown for the ARC to review.

5 STARS
First off, I would like to sincerely thank Netgalley for the rare and precious ARC! I don't get them often, so imagine my thrill when I saw this baby!
I will start out by saying that I am a huge fan of Sandra Brown and her gritty romance murder mysteries. But I want you to know that I'm not going to slap a 5 star rating up there just because I love the author's previous books, and because I am grateful for receiving this early release. (even though I am! ...grateful that is.) I going to do it because she has yet again delivered a gripping and emotionally charged story that led me down the primrose path, thinking I had it all worked out and then once again pulling the rug out from under my feet.
This was a very unique and intriguing storyline. One that would make a gripping movie. The kind you can on get from SB.
Loved the characters. Even though I'm not a fan of reporters or newscasters of any kind, Kerra Bailey still managed to get under my skin and provoke a bit of empathy. Although I would have like to strangle her boss.
John Trapper definitely didn't disappoint. He was classic, Sandra Brown alpha male down to his very core. And even to the very last sentence of the book he had me completely entranced. He was the typical tragic hero with more pride and intelligence than any one man should possess. There were some rare but fabulous sex scenes, and more than enough sexual tension to satisfy.
If you were following my updates... there was a moment there when I thought I had it all figured out. And I was already dropping my rating for making the story so transparent. But then things started to unravel a bit. Now I wouldn't say that it was a WOW-type of blow your mind kind of ending, but it definitely caught me off guard. And for that reason, I'm giving SB full marks on this one.
So, in an effort to keep this review spoiler-free, I'm going to end it there. If you are a SB fan, you're going to love this one. If you're not familiar with her books but love a good murder mystery/romance story, you'll soon find yourself a SB fan. And you'll have plenty of great books to look forward to.
Once again, thank you Netgalley for the rare and much appreciated ARC!
Seeing Red is a romantic suspense that I didn’t find romantic or all that suspenseful. Maybe my expectations for this were too high, but I didn’t fall in love with either of the characters of broadcast journalist Kerra Bailey and former ATF agent John Trapper—maybe this was why I didn’t feel the heat between them or much care if they got together.
The premise was intriguing enough: Kerra is interviewing Major Trapper (John’s dad), who was catapulted to fame twenty-five years earlier when he helped rescue some folks earlier from a hotel bombing when there is a shooting at Major Trapper’s home. John Trapper acts as a guard for Kerra in case the shooters discover that she survived the incident.
There were a few nice twists and turns, but not enough to keep me furiously turning pages in anticipation of what was going to happen next.
Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Books for the opportunity to review this novel.
Ms. Brown has done it again. She has written yet another romantic suspense book that you cannot put down! As always there is a twist at the end which catches you totally unaware. Her main female character is a spicy young lady that has lots of grit and determination. Her main male character is a guy who is rough on the outside but feels very deeply. He is also a master puzzle solver! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a "gripper" of a read!!!
Amazing, fast paced , full of twists. Sandra Brown never disappoints. I loved this book . Thank you netgalley
WOW - Sandra Brown has done it again! What an awesome author! Her writing style and plots know no bounds!! Can you imagine being a small child with your mother in a hotel lobby, when explosions go off all around you? Can you imagine the chaos and not being able to find your mother, then when you do, she hands you off to a total stranger to save you? Now on the 25th year of the bombings, Kerra Bailey, a journalist, wants an interview with the reclusive man, who saved the little girl's life. However, Major Trapper has been avoiding this journalist for quite some time. Kerry Bailey attempts to get his son, John Trapper, to help her, only to find that the two won't speak to each other. Kerra's tenacity finally pays off. The Major agrees to an interview, but only after he reviews the interview questions. What could possibly go wrong? While Kerra is in the powder room, men show up and the Major is shot. They come after her but she escapes. Get ready for a real roller coaster ride! Why was the Major shot? What secret is he hiding? What secret is Kerra hiding? Why was it so important for him not to do the interview? Who is trying to eliminate all parties that were involved with the bombings? Why bomb a hotel with multiple bombs? Why was John Trapper targeted within the ATF, when he was investigating the bombings? Why was John forced to quit the ATF, before he could finalize the investigation? Will John be able to find the answer to who is pulling the strings for the deaths and cover up? So much mystery and intrigue in this book. The characters are very well developed and realistic. The reader can definitely relate to them. I loved this book!! It definitely kept me turning the pages and up late at night!! I can't wait to read the next book by Sandra Brown.
I can recommend the latest Sandra Brown with no reservations. Pick this up!
Amazing! Fantastic! Wonderful! This book will not make you see red that's for sure. I am a huge fan of Sandra Brown and this is another marvelous story by her. Ms Brown did such a great job with the suspense in this story. It was perfectly paced, not to fast and not too slow. As soon as it hit my kindle I had to dive into it. I couldn't put it down. I was floored when we finally get to figure out who the "puppeteer" was, I never saw that coming. Then when you get to see who was on the "list" my heart broke right along with Trapper's. I really liked how this one had, I thought, a little more romance along with the mystery. Kerra and Trapper had great chemistry and I loved their smart, snarky banter. Trapper is very blunt, stubborn and rough around the edges, but Kerra keeps up just fine. I can't recommend this book enough
Suspenseful, fast paced, made me feel like I was there with them, sexy, and an ending that will shock you. Loved it.
Kerra is a news reporter trying to get an interview with Major Trapper, who rescued people after a bombing twenty five years ago. She can't get him to answer her calls so she goes to his son Trapper.
Trapper is former ATF and kept investigating the bombing until he was fired. That didn't stop him from finding out who really set them bombs. He has an idea but no one believes him, not even his father. They have been on the outs for three years and tells Kerra no to helping her.
She gets her interview and after it wraps up and the crew leaves, she stays and talks with him. Someone comes in shoots the Major while she's in the restroom. She panics as they are trying to get in, she climbs out the window and runs but falls in a ditch. She's in the hospital and the Major is barely hanging on.
Trapper believes she's in danger and kidnaps her and they try to figure out what's going on. Only thing Kerra is afraid of losing her heart to Trapper and knows he's liable to break it. Will they figure out the secrets or will they be stopped. You will not be disappointed with this book.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book hits you from the start. A combination of suspense, romance, and strong characters in true Sandra Brown style. Major Trapper saved Kerra from a bombing years ago. Now she is a tough as nails reporter determined to reunite with him and get an interview. Enters his son who is not so willing for her to do that. The chemistry between these two was instant. I loved all the twists and turns this story took. Fans of Brown will not be disappointed by this book.
Seeing Red is a typical Sandra Brown thriller. The heroine is a TV reporter, the hero a disgraced ATF agent, and they’re thrown together when past crimes mix with the present. Of course, there’s romance and murder and corruption. It’s all a little formulaic, but since the formula works for me, I don’t mind at all. I had figured out the villain well beforehand but some of the plot twists still took me by surprise. The romance felt a little obligatory, but I liked the dialogue between Kerra and Trapper. So this isn’t Brown’s best work or even a particularly innovative book, but it delivers what it’s supposed to do. I enjoyed reading it and I think it’ll be a good book for the summer holidays.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book held my interest and is very well written. It is a great mystery/thriller full of twists and turns. I have read every book this author has ever written & have never been disappointed. I love her work. I recommend it highly.
At the 25th anniversary of the Pegasus bombing Kerra Bailey, a local reporter wants to interview the national hero Major Franklin Trapper, who saved along with others a 5-year-old girl from the building. The Major though had refused all interviews the past few years and Kerra’s only hope to meet the Major was through his son, John Trapper ,an ex ATF officer who now ran a detective agency. After the interview an attempt was made at Kerra and the Major’s life which led to a non stop action with murder, kidnapping , FBI , Texas Rangers and a shady lawyer all thrown in the mix.
This was a great romantic suspense by Sandra Brown that I finished in a few hours. It has a lots of twists and turns with a few surprises at the end. The sarcastic banter between Trapper and Kerra along with the sizzling romance and with non-stop actin makes this book quite an entertaining read that I would recommend to all mystery lovers.
Many thanks to Grand Central Publishing& NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I first fell in love with Sandra Brown’s books after reading Mean Streak, and I’ve been a fan ever since. She’s best known for her romantic suspense novels and writes them like no other. I find them to be heavier on the suspense than the romance, so if romance isn’t your thing, don’t let that steer you away.
John Trapper is a rash, hot-headed, stubborn man. Kerra Bailey is a television journalist who does not take no for an answer. When Kerra reaches out to Trapper for help to acquire an interview with his father, Franklin Trapper, both of their worlds get turned upside down.
From the outside this is a seemingly simple story, but in reality Sandra Brown has woven a very complex story of lies and deceit. I was enjoying the book, but it wasn’t until the last 20% of the book that the story really took off for me. It was full of twists and turns, most of which I did not see coming.
This book was an intense, wild ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wondering what would happen next.
Thank you NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing, and Sandra Brown for an opportunity to read and review this book for my honest opinion.
As an avid reader, I’ve become concerned because lately I’ve had problems getting into reading new books. Always struggling through the first half of the book. Apparently the problem was the books I was choosing because Sandra Brown’s Seeing Red sucked me right in!
The 25th anniversary of the Pegasus bombing that killed nearly 200 people, the largest domestic bombing in US history, is fast approaching. The day of the bombing, retired Major Franklin Trapper was photographed rescuing several people including the five year old girl he cradled in his arms. The iconic photo made him an overnight hero and celebrity. The girl’s identity was safely guarded so that she could quietly grow up while grieving the loss of her parents.
Kerra Bailey is a local reporter working hard to climb the ladder to the national news. As the Pegasus anniversary approaches, every reporter is trying to get an interview with the now reclusive Major. Kerra uses The Major’s estranged son John Trapper to help her convince The Major that she should be the one to pull him back into the spotlight. The interview takes place with a lot of fanfare and within the hour, someone attempts to kill both The Major and Kerra.
Local police, Texas Rangers and the FBI become involved in the search for the would-be assassins. John Trapper obviously takes the attempt on his father’s life personally and is convinced he needs to be involved in the manhunt. He never believed those held responsible for the Pegasus bombing were the actual perpetrators. He thinks the actual responsible party is still trying to cover any tracks left and is therefore attempting to eliminate possible witnesses.
In typical Sandra Brown fashion, you’ll be as shocked as I was when the “bad buys” are finally revealed. Guaranteed that you won’t be able to put this book down.
As always Sandra Brown knocks Seeing Red out of the park.
This book is about a Journalist who has a secret past and she goes back to the one person who shared it with her.
Upon meeting up with him she gets herself into a situation that she just can't let go of. She meets John "Trapper", the man's son and her life spins out of control.
There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and it is a bit shocking when you get to the end and find out "who done it".
The queen of epic plot twists is back with yet another—bold, highly addictive, fast-paced, in-your-face—suspense novel riddled with delicious tension and an underlying sexiness. I dare you to even attempt to savor this one. No matter how hard I tried to pace myself, I just couldn’t do it. I devoured her words like a bag of my very favorite guilty pleasure—sweet, ooey-gooey, melty and warm peanut butter M&M’s.
Whether you’re a diehard Sandra Brown fan, like I consider myself to be, or if she’s a new to you author, I’m pretty confident her latest offering will have you seeing anything other than red. Well, I guess I should add a disclaimer—unless you’re a reader that gets a little heated when you find out you’ve been duped. Lets be honest though, does that ever happen? I mean, who wants a predictable plot?
John Trapper, the brazen and rough-around-the-edges guy (yum!) at the heart of this story has been seeing red since the day he left the ATF. Once a top agent and now a washed-up private detective with a stubborn streak, he's estranged from his famous father and wallowing in his reputation of being a burnout that couldn't hack it. His biggest source of contention, the questionable circumstances surrounding the tragedy that thrust his father into the limelight. The Major became a national hero after an award-winning picture was captured of him rescuing a group of people, including an innocent 5-year-old little girl, in the aftermath of a hotel bombing; think cover of TIME magazine memorable. The twenty-fifth anniversary of the bombing is approaching and Kerra, a well-known national news reporter, is looking to land the interview of all interviews—a sit down with The Major. The problem, he’s stopped all appearances and become somewhat of a recluse. Is Kerra's only chance at getting to The Major through Trapper?
Attempted murder, kidnapping, a host of shady characters and my personal favorite—smart and snarky banter—made this unputdownable. While the entire storyline is intriguing, it was Trapper and Kerra together that left me giddy with anticipation. The intensity, innuendoes and Trapper's bluntness . . . I just couldn't get enough. The tension was taut, the ride was wild and the ending was gratifying. Sandra Brown, the author that loves to flip the script, nails the perfect balance of suspense and romance again. As if I had any doubts; there's a reason she's one of my favorites.
Sandra Brown never disappoints. Seeing Red is another fast-paced thriller with just enough romance to keep the reader guessing while rooting for Trapper and Kerra to solve the mystery and the bumps in the road to building a lasting partnership. Trapper is the son of The Major, a hero who saved a young girl during a bomb attack back in Trapper's youth. Twenty-five years later, the parties are still affected by the attack and those responsible fear reprisal if secrets are unveiled during a televised anniversary special hosted by Kerra. Lifetime bonds are put to the test as long-buried grudges arise and newly forged relationships form in a battle to unveil the identity of the mastermind behind the bombing as well as those of the persons pursuing Trapper, Kerra and The Major. Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put Seeing Red down.
