Sandra Brown is one of my all-time favorite authors. No one writes romantic suspense like she does. This cover is hot. In Seeing Red, we meet Kerra Bailey and Joh Trapper. Kerra lands the interview of a lifetime with Major Trapper before tragedy hits. Typical Sandra Brown. I was drawn in from the first page.
Then we meet our flawed hero, Trapper, who is nursing a wicked hangover. (This hero seems common in some of her books of late, I think.) Kerra has to decide if she can trust a hot-headed, hot-tempered John Trapper as she tries to figure out who is behind that tragedy. Together, they battle desire while trying to solve the puzzle that got John fired from his job as an ATF.
The romance is intense and the intrigue is high. Many plot twists and events that had me finishing this read in one sitting. Sandra Brown has done it again. I eagerly await her next release. More, please. More.

I was lucky to receive a copy of Seeing Red from Grand Central Publishing. I say luck because I'm a big fan of Sandra Brown. I've read every single book of hers. On to the book...Take Kerra a TV journalist with a secret, interviewing a Major who saved some people by getting them out of a bombed building years ago, which made him famous. The Major has not been taking interviews for a few years...why? The Major and his 'hot' son Trapper are estranged but Kerra dangles a carrot which Trapper can't resist...after Kerra interviews the major all heck breaks loose. Sandra Brown always has just enough mystery, romance, fast action to make a great read. I enjoyed the read...I gobbled it up!

A Sandra Brown book always promises 3 things: A smart heroine, a hero who’s a big, bad, sex-on-a-stick alpha male, and a story that keeps you guessing until the end. SEEING RED once again delivers all three…and so much more.

TV personality and journalist Kerra Bailey wants the interview of a lifetime: Military hero Major Thomas Trapper. Getting him to agree is only a tiny part of this edge of your pants story, though. Getting the Major to agree means getting his estranged son John, or just “Trapper,” to help her. That’s hurdle number one. Hurdle number two is fighting the immediate attraction she has for the recalcitrant and annoying former federal agent. Hurdles 3 to the end of the book involve the attempted murders of Kerra and the Major, a 25 year old bombing, and a series of secondary characters that fly off the pages with intensity, heat, and wickedness.

While the title of the book eludes me ( Seeing Red), I don’t care. I’d read a Sandra Brown book if it was titled “THE ALPHABET.” She just keeps getting better and better and better…

5 well deserved stars ( as usual!) for Sandra Brown and SEEING RED.
I was given an ARC copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest and unbiased opinion.

SEEING READ is a stirring suspense drama between two fascination characters. Major Franklin Trapper earned worldwide recognition for heroism when he was photographed carrying a five year-old girl out of a collapsing building. The headlines turned him into an overnight sensation while the little girl's identity was held in secrecy. Fast forward to twenty-five years later and Kerra Bailey is a successful TV personality who wants to score an interview with the Major that she feels will skyrocket her career. There's one small issue, though. She can't seem to get a hold of the Major, but she finds a way to get his son John's attention.

Kerra soon develops a strong fascination for Major Trapper’s son. She know she should not be attracted to John Trapper, a down on his luck private investigator who has been fired from his job with the ATF. He is the son of her ‘hot get’ interview target, however; so she tests him by leaving him a photo, telling him he is going to need a magnifying glass, and waiting. He doesn't disappoint, and what the reader gets afterwards is a wild chase across Texas, a couple of corpses, a stolen vehicle or two; and enough twists and turns that leave the reader not even sure where they are. All you know is that you have enjoyed the ride getting there.

The writing, as always, was solid in SEEING RED. Sandra Brown can always be counted on to provide a fascinating read. The storyline is plot heavy and there are some great twists and turns that the reader doesn’t see coming; but overall I wasn't quite as invested in the main characters as I have been in previous books by Brown. John Trapper and Kerra were amusing, but neither character really blew me away. The ending wrapped up nicely and this was an entertaining read, overall.

SEEING RED is a standalone read by Sandra Brown, and is recommended for her fans and readers of well written Romantic Suspense.

I started reading Sandra Brown and Nora Roberts at the same time…way back in the distant past and while Nora Roberts books are a pleasant diversion, Sandra Brown can still grab me by the throat and totally immerse me in her books. It’s been 25 years since Major Trapper became a hero for saving people from a hotel that had been hit by a bomb. The photo of him emerging from the Pegasus hotel with a group of survivors is iconic. Now, TV journalist Kerra Bailey wants to interview the man who dropped off the grid after the bombing 25 years earlier. Her strategy is to try to get close to the man’s son, John Trapper, an ex ATF agent, in hopes of gaining access to his father. Trapper, however wants nothing to do with his father, or the reporters chasing after him. It’s only when Kerra reveals that there’s much more to his father’s story of heroism than meets the eye that he becomes interested. How much does Trapper know about what really happened that fateful day 25 years earlier? And who will do anything to keep the truth from coming to light? Trademark Sandra Brown, full of surprises, twists and unforgettable characters

Really, what do I say? This was Sandra Brown, and she did it again. I was engrossed from the 1st chapter, I was up too late reading, I finished in about a day, and I didn't want to put it down. Do I have other books on my list with a sooner publication date? Absolutely. Do I have the willpower to allow a Sandra Brown title to sit on my Kindle, unread? No. No, I do not.

All true, and it happens every time I read one of her titles. She is just that good.

Bombers, crazy killers, conspiracies, family dynamics that will take years of counseling to straighten out. It's all in here. And, it works. The plot, the writing and the pacing are tightly constructed and you believe what happens to the characters.

And, like she often does, her hero isn't the best...or so it seems at first...for a romantic hero. Your introduction to him leaves a lot to be desired, and Trapper doesn't seem to care. Kerra knows she should, she know she should not be attracted to Trapper (John) a down on his luck private investigator who had been fired from his job with the ATF. But, he is the son of her "hot get" interview target, so she tests him...leaves him a photo, tells him he is going to need a magnifying glass, and waits. He doesn't disappoint, and what you get is a chase across Texas, a couple of corpses, a stolen vehicle or 2, and enough twists and turns that you aren't even sure where the heck you are but you know you have enjoyed the heck out of the ride.

I have joked, more than once, that by the end of the Sandra Brown book, once the characters get their HEA, and they did in this like they always do, that all of the characters are going to need therapy. Yeah, that's probably the case for this one too, but what a ride.

Was there a HEA? Of course there was. Ms. Brown tells a heck of a twisty story, but at the end, it's a story about people, about redemption, about a second chance, and about a way to come back to who you were and be a little better off on the way there. Kerra and John get their HEA, and you believe it. They are going to be a couple for the long haul., although their life might be a little boring going forward, comparatively.

Oh, and for the "gotcha" moment that happens in every book? Oddly enough, there was nothing that left me absolutely stunned until the end. I actually found myself thinking that, while there were quite a few jaw dropping moments, that the "OMG did that seriously just happen" wasn't going to be in this book. And, it was like Ms. Brown heard me...because GOTCHA.

Ms. Brown got me good. And, I never saw it coming.

I recommend this book.

I am a HUGE Sandra Brown fan and right off the bat I want to say that Seeing Red is simply fantastic!!! Dare I say, it could even be in my top 3 Sandra Brown books ever?!??? The plot was well thought out and in true Sandra Brown fashion an intricate web of mystery was spun throughout the novel that had so many unexpected twist and turns! It took almost no time for me to be completely hooked (literally 10 pages in) and I felt that there wasn't any parts of the book lagged--loved that!!! One of my favorite parts about Sandra Brown's books is the fact that I never feel cheated by the time I've finished, rather I feel as if I've taken the journey right beside the characters. Speaking of characters, they were very well developed (even the supporting characters)! I enjoyed how Ms. Brown melds mystery/suspense and romance to create the perfect balance. Seeing Red is a 5 star read that I highly recommend to everyone!!
