Dani Botelli has vowed to step out of her demanding movie star mother’s shadow, and is determined to start a new chapter in her life. But two men vying for her attention are making for double the trouble. There’s Jake, her police detective almost-ex who wasn’t so hot as a husband but still has the hots for Dani. And as usual, he needs her intuition and visions to help him solve a crime. Then there’s her high school crush, Michael, a former NFL pro who’s now her mom’s hunky lawyer. Working alongside Jake, while keeping her special gifts under wraps, is proving to be more dangerous than Dani realized. She needs to stay out of harm’s way—and out of Jake’s flirtatious path—long enough to find out if Michael is the one. But will her hard-to-explain hunches be the secret that comes between them?
I hadn’t read this author before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This book was pretty good. It gives a nice twist to the second chances genre and throws in a paranormal aspect to boot! I liked all of the characters in the book. The book itself was well written and flowed nicely. I can’t wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
I had a difficult time to review this story. Some twists were not my thing and other situations made it worth reading it. Not my easiest revoew to write.
Danielle should be stronger and Jake is not a man, he is using her. Michael is too mean for my liking but I liked the girl - Emma. She made some of the scenes worth the reading.
This is just my opinion - read to make your own.
This was a fun book to read! The banter between Dani, Michael, and Jake, and even mom, grandma, the bodyguard, etc. was awesome. Yes, it did have a lot of romance tropes thrown in, but that just made it fun! Dani was full of snark, and Michael was an intelligent guy who didn't get thrown into the creepy-lawyer barrel. I'm starting the second book now.
Cute, cute, cute!! Seeing Double was not what I was expecting- I liked that the story had the added element of Dani (& her Mom & Grandma) having special "powers"
Tamra Baumann is a new favorite author. I look forward to reading more by her.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I started this book like most others - planning to take breaks and do all the regular stuff life throws at you - instead my family fended for themselves while I finished it in one sitting! Great characters - an almost -ex, a new/old flame, mothers/daughters and some "woo-woo" foretelling dreams thrown in makes for a solid contemporary romance.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish this book which means I will not be able to review it. I truly appreciate the opportunity and apologize for the inconvenience the lack of review may cause you.
Dani, Jake and Michael what a ride. I loved that this story had so much humor, misdirection, twits and turns. I enjoyed seeing Dani move away from being under her mother's shadow. The characters are well rounded and the writing is excellent.
What a great read. This is the first book i have read by Tamra and I am looking forward to others from her. This book will have you laughing out loud. I could be friends with some of these characters. Seeing double is a story about 2nd chances. It is well written.
This was a super fun second-chance romance! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author!
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
This story is a modern day screwball comedy. Dani appears to be a mess and at times is almost difficult to like but Baumann manages to keep her just on the right side of likable even when she does things that make you want to scream at the book. Michael is a likable single-dad hero that isn't quite perfect himself and Jake, the third part of the triangle, is actually very likable as well. As expected hijinx ensue, however, Tamra Baumann does a great job of keeping the story flowing and the absurd to somehow seem plausible.
I thought I was NOT going to like this one in the beginning. The heroine, Dani, get's herself in some darn funny situations. I kept going though because I enjoy Tamra Baumanns' previous books, in the It Had to Be You series.
This one was no different! Full of humour, snark, and wit, this was fun story! The characters are fully developed and yes there is some woo-woo to it but the adventures that Dani took the strait-laced, right or wrong, no grey area, Michael on were fun.
[Dani is technically still married to Jake, as he won't sign the papers and oh that relationship was a sweet one! There is NO cheating, no worries about that but when the relationship finally ends, you can feel the both their pain. (But you're still rooting for Micheal) (hide spoiler)]
So at first i was a little confused as to what was going on as the way it's start you kinda jump straight in, This isn't just a romance, There a little extra going on, I don't want to give anything away as it is a good story and i enjoyed getting to know all the characters.
Dani's got man trouble. Her ex, Jake, is still a big presence in her life. Then there's Michael her high school crush and her moms lawyer. Dani has a special gift, she is psychic, as is her mother and grandmother. Her ex knows, as she helps him solve crimes. Michael doesn't, as Dani isn't really allowed to tell anyone. On account of her mother being an actress, she doesn't want it to ruin her reputation. Michael has trust issues after his ex wife kept a very big secret from him. Dani doesn't know how he will react when she tells him. Its a lot to deal with. Fans of paranormal romance should pick up a copy. Its a fun read. Cant wait to read some more books by this author.
What happens when you have intuitions and visions.
Hmm you soon to be ex uses you to help him solve crimes and the man you want has no idea.
Dani is tired of living under her Mother. She want s to live her own life, and get her soom to be ex to sign the divorce papers. She never imagines getting stuck with someone elses child and traveling with the one who got away to chase down the Mother. This really teaches her things about herself
This was a romantic comedy that keeps you laughing the whole way through. The suspense in the plot is fine tuned. I really enjoyed it.

SEEING DOUBLE – Tamra Baumann
A Heartbreaker Novel, Book 1
Montlake Romance
ISBN: 978-1542046091
September 2017
Contemporary Romance
Albuquerque, New Mexico – Present Day
Dani Botelli is trying to start a new life that isn’t under the shadow of her famous movie star mother, or her soon-to-be ex-husband Jake, who still has the hots for her. Unfortunately, Jake, who is a police detective, still asks Dani for help in solving crimes because she has intuitive visions, something she tries to keep under wraps. Then there is Michael Reilly, her high school crush, who is a lawyer and is involved in a case she is testifying in. Dani broke up with Michael in high school because she had a vision of him marrying someone else. He doesn’t know about her special skills, because she doesn’t want to be seen as a freak. But after a confrontation with Michael in front of the courthouse, a man attacks Dani and threatens to kill her. Michael will do whatever it takes to protect Dani, but will it also lead to a rekindled passion between them?
Michael is a divorced father of two little girls, but he hasn’t forgotten about Dani. He’s still confused over her rejection of him in high school. In Michael’s eyes, Dani is flaky and spoiled, but he still wants her. When the attacker in front of the courthouse hires goons to go after Dani, he steps in to help, despite the fact that the police—and Jake—are involved. But it doesn’t stop someone planting a bomb that almost kills them. In fact, it only forces Michael and Dani closer. After a little girl is abandoned and Dani offers to care for her and look for the mother, Michael agrees to help. Dani loves Michael, but can he forgive her for breaking up with him as teenagers? How will he feel when he learns about her special abilities?
Dani is torn between two men—one who wants her (Jake) and another who is still sore after their breakup years ago—Michael. She inherited her special visual skills from her mother and grandmother, and like them, tries to hide it because it’s so unusual and would attract attention. Jake knows about it and has used her to help him solve crimes. Michael wasn’t told because she didn’t want to scare him away. It’s not easy to explain to someone you can see your future—and theirs. Despite the years apart, Dani is still attracted to Michael, but doesn’t see how she can win him back. For one, he doesn’t think highly of her despite their years of knowing one another. It doesn’t help that she gets into peculiar situations and is a bit of an airhead. But deep down there is a woman trying to assert her independence from her famous mother. Dani grew up without knowing her father, but in SEEING DOUBLE, she may get a chance to rectify that.
SEEING DOUBLE is both intriguing and funny as Dani gets into trouble and is rescued by Michael. Of course, she also has her own way of getting out of a jam by using her special skills. Michael thinks she’s just lucky and she doesn’t know how he’ll react if she tells him the truth. Their rekindled romance slowly builds in SEEING DOUBLE as they chase after a woman who left a child behind and try to keep safe from hired killers. You’ll have to read this tale to see how they accumulated a child, a bodyguard and a gun toting grandmother.
Readers who love cute and funny romances will get a kick out of SEEING DOUBLE. It’s the first book in the Heartbreaker series by Tamra Baumann, and is one that I highly recommend.

Seeing Double by Tamara Baumann a fun and flirty four-star read. This is the first book in the Heartbreaker Novels, it’s also the first book by this author I have read, and it won’t be the last. This is a paranormal romance but if you don’t like that genre don’t be put off as it’s also got a great story that you could almost oversee that. (The visions in question aren’t crystal ball and fringe veil). I personally enjoy a good paranormal romance so I enjoyed this aspect, but I know not everyone does. There are some scenes of an adult nature and some language used that’s more mature but it’s not every other word.
Overall Tamara Baumann has written a great story both lead males Michael and Jake have great sides to them that are revealed as you read and Dani is great, she’s a woman of many talents and some she is happier to reveal. The struggles she faces are honest and you can easily relate. Overall a very good read, if you are in the mood for a sweet PRN or a sweet romance then this is the book for you as it covers both very well.
This book was so amazing. I cannot wait to read the next book in Heartbreaker series; it is so charming, captivating, and fun. This will be a book that I will reread more than once. The connection between Dani and Jake her soon to be ex was an important part of this story; the way that the author explained their relationship was heartwarming and enthralling that you cannot help but love them. The connection between Dani and Michael was intense, sizzling, sexy, fun, and dynamic; this part of the story answered so many questions that they both needed answered in order to live their full lives. Thank you very much Tamra Baumann for such an awesome new series and thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read the book and write this review.
