Having read The Tough Love series by Ms. Dimon, I was excited to read this book. While not part of that series it does feature some characters that I was familiar with. The book started very slow and I put it down for years. Coming back to it, I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed the way the story played out and the unexpected end. Alex and Gaige are thrown together to uncover a corporate espionage before it leads to an international incident. During the course they become physically involved which leads to a romance. Once the action picked up I enjoyed it a lot and couldn't wait to finish.

I love a good spy book, even better when there's hacking involved. Gaige is a super nerd, but fierce when he needs to be as well as amusing. Alec was gruff and grumpy and reluctant to form deep connections with lovers, but also caring and accommodating at times. If Seth weren't in the story I'd be way more in love with it. He stole the scenes he was in in a bad way. I have no desire to go look up his story because he rubbed me the wrong way at every single turn.

The plot was actually quite unique and I would have kept the pages turning for that alone, but add in two MC's that I'm genuinely interested in as well as some incredibly hot scenes between them and I'm golden. I warmed to Alec and Gaige at different times and for different reasons, but one thing that I never questioned was how good for one another they were. They made this story a joy to read.

This one was very disjointed and the beginning was just a mess. Apparently this is a spin off of another series and it felt like something was missing in the beginning as I haven't read those books. These was a lot of jilted dialogue and just random scene changes. Everything happened too fast and the main mystery was just eye-rollingly not good. It was overly convoluted and there was no real conclusion. Though maybe other books in this series will continue that...at this time it was a big ol' meh read

When billionaire businessman Alec Drummond catches Gaige Owens breaking into his server room, Alec is furious. Alec is known for his iron control and his business brilliance and few people dare to cross him. Certainly not a hacker that Alec has never heard of. And when Alec learns who put Gaige up to the break in, he is even more angry.

For his part, Gaige isn’t so thrilled to be there either. But it turns out the CIA has leverage over him and if Gaige wants to stay out of jail, he has to do what they say. And it turns out that they want more from both Gaige and Alec. There is someone messing with the world’s doomsday food supply and somehow Alec’s company is caught up in it, or at least someone is trying to place the blame his direction. The CIA is insisting that Alec let Gaige work with him to attempt to figure out who is behind it all.

Alec isn’t a man to trust easily and he has no desire to let Gaige roam free within his company or his computers. The only way to make this work is if Alec keeps Gaige at this side all the time. And while he won’t let himself really admit it, the fact that Alec is totally hot for Gaige does play a part. Neither man is interested in any strings, but both are eager to act on the fierce attraction between them.

As things heat up between the men personally, they begin to dig deeper into the case. The CIA wants to control everything, but neither Gaige nor Alec is a man to be told what to do. Even as the men try to figure out if they can trust one another, they continue to investigate what is really going on with the seed bank. As they get closer to the truth, their lives are at risk. Now Gaige and Alec must do whatever it takes to find out the truth and stop a global crisis.

Dirty Deeds is the first book in HelenKay Dimon’s Dirty series and I am really excited about this one. The book is a spinoff of sorts from Dimon’s Tough Love series, which I really enjoyed. Alec appears in the third book in that trilogy, Guarding Mr. Fine, as main character Rick’s sometimes lover who also happens to do occasional jobs for the CIA. Much to my delight, CIA agent Seth Lang, the other hero of that book, also appears here as major side character. I adored Seth in that series and was thrilled he got his own book, so I particularly enjoyed his role here. I think you can easily read this book without having read the other series as the plots do not overlap. However, be warned you will probably find Seth a total asshole here, while those like me who have enjoyed his smart assed self in the other books are likely to find him more endearing here, even as you root for Alec and Gaige to outsmart him.

The romance part of this romantic suspense is handled nicely, though both men would likely grimace at the term “romance.” Both Alec and Gaige have some major trust issues (and understandably so), and while they are happy for a chance to engage in some hot sex, neither man is interested in more. I think Dimon does a nice job here bringing the men from sort of enemies who are purely looking for sex, to two men with a strong connection emotionally as well as physically. These are both some strong, aggressive men, and while Gaige is willing to defer to Alec in the bedroom, they are both men who work hard and play hard. So there is an nice connection between these guys and I enjoyed watching them come together over the course of the book.

I’ll admit, I wished for a bit more intensity from the suspense end. I was totally fascinated by the seed bank that stores the world’s food supply in the event of a major disaster. The idea of someone messing with our doomsday survival chances was terrifying and exciting, but it takes a while for the suspense end to really heat up. I felt like most of the book was cat and mouse games and some power plays among Seth, Gaige, and Alec, but not really much in the way of suspense and intrigue. Even once things picked up late in the book, I never quite felt the “world could be coming to an end” intensity that I was expecting and that seemed to be indicated by the plot. That said, the story does resolve nicely and the set up here was one I found quite unique.

Overall I am really excited about this new series from Dimon. She writes enjoyable romantic suspense and this looks like a great start to the series. I am definitely looking forward to more.

Dirty Deeds was a difficult book for me to get into. It wasn’t bad and there were several interesting elements along with lots of hot sexy time between Alec and Gaige. I think what really sealed the deal for me was the interactions between Gaige and Alec. These men really didn’t want to be involved. The attraction was there and almost immediate but they fought their feelings for each other every step of the way and the battle was delicious.
Gaige Owens is tired of being used. He wants nothing to do with the CIA or their machinations. But, alas, he finds himself neck deep in more tech games and things that have nothing to do with him. He wasn’t prepared for multi-billionaire Alec Drummond’s company to be involved in the latest stunt the CIA involves him in. He was also not prepared for the immediate attraction he felt for Alec or for it to be reciprocated.
Alec doesn’t want to trust Gaige but the more time they spend together and the deeper involved they get he finds himself doing just that.
This book has some high intensity, action packed moments. I wanted more relationship building, more emotional entanglements between Alec and Gaige. There were some tender moments and you can definitely feel the shift and see them start to build something more solid together.
Dirty Deeds is a whodunit, thrill ride. Lots of secrets and the mystery element are definitely there.
Overall, this was pretty good. I’m hopeful for the series and look forward to book 2…

Had a very hard time getting through this book. I just wanted to know who the villain setting up Alec was, and skimmed the last 25% of the novel. This had potential. Alec and Gaige were a hot couple, and it was nice to see the affection develop between them. But alpha males who don’t do relationships or perceive falling in love as a weakness or deny they’re in love just doesn’t do it for me anymore. This wasn’t very exciting, and the melodrama was irritating.

Wow, talk about hot. This novel had it all. The chemistry was off the charts and the novel pulled you in from the very first page. This novel kept me on the edge of my seat, I never could guess what was coming next. I loved it!

Going into this story I had no idea it was a spin-off. After starting the story, I really felt like that should have been put somewhere in the description. The original series is called “Tough Love” which I haven’t read or heard of. That being said, being confused in the first bit of the story didn’t bother me too much. You can read this story as a stand-alone, but you’ll be confused for a little bit.

Dirty Deeds starts off with the character Gaige breaking into Alec, the other main characters company to get his attention and information. Gaige is working for the CIA against his will and is being forced to hack into Alec’s company behind his back. Alec, is a billionaire who has made his company what it is by being harsh and cut throat. He and his brothers work together to help produce and protect food supplies- I think. I wasn’t entirely sure what exactly he did. I have to say this aspect of the story-while crucial-was super confusing to me. I wouldn’t say it took away from the story, but it didn’t really add anything for me. Anywho, Alec decides that since he’s being forced to work with Gaige he is going to make him live in his house and work in his office. Yeah sparks are flying in no time.

I really enjoyed the romance between Gaige and Alec. It felt very real and very hot. I can never pass up a good M/M romance story and Dirty Deeds was definitely on the up-and-up in terms of romance. Their relationship had an authenticity that sometimes gets pushed to the wayside for the sex scenes. HelenKay Dimon didn’t do that. Their relationship was created with care.

Overall this book was...adequate. It wasn’t groundbreaking and didn’t really leave me with any lasting impressions. Not saying it wasn’t good, because it was, it just wasn’t memorable after the book was put down.

Also,, the description for this book isn’t a very accurate description of what this book is about. Did that bother me? No, the book is very enjoyable. Just if you’re going into this book expecting the description pieces to play a bigger role, you’ll be a tad disappointed or shocked.

Gaige and Alec are perfection. I had a hunch about the mystery but it played out wonderfully. A sexy read.

This is sit on my currently read for far too long, and I know when a book didn't interest me, it would be a quit somehow.
Maybe I'll visit someday, I just don't like it sitting on that shelves for too long.

I didn't realize this was a spin off of the Tough Love series until CIA agent Seth from Guarding Mr. Fine (which I loved) shows up as the guy behind the introduction of computer genius Gaige to Alec Drummond, head of an international food security company. Right away, that started things off on a positive note for me, and got me invested in the story and the characters.

The setting of this romantic suspense story is an interesting one, with the real Svalbard Global Seed Vault as the key to what is an exciting fictional story. Alec's company is responsible for deliveries to the vault, but there's been some unauthorized access that Seth is investigating with Gaige's help. Gaige doesn't have much choice in the matter as his ex- business partner and lover was guilty of several crimes and left Gaige to deal with the consequences. His only chance of staying out of prison is to do what Seth wants, including breaking into Alec's company and trying to find out who is behind the vault breaches. It's not the most auspicious meeting for Gaige and Alex, putting them on wary footing as they try to figure out if they can trust each other.

Lust however has no inclination to be cautious and they quickly slip into a heated affair, one where an emotional connection builds as they try to solve the mystery. Steamy sexy scenes and an action packed plot keep this one moving along smoothly to a dramatic conclusion, with some surprises along the way. There's a suitable happy for now ending and some secondary characters whom I'm looking forward to reading more about! It's an exciting and sexy read.

Alec Drummond has very little time for anything but business since he trusted the wrong people. Gaige Owens trusted the wrong person, and now an asshole CIA agent basically owns his ass which is why he's caught sneaking into Alec Drummond's server room and subsequently forced to work with the hard (if incredibly attractive) ass.

The attraction to each other is instant and intense, but trust is an issue for both of them. But Alec's company is being set up by dangerous people, and if his company is going to survive and Gaige is going to be free of the CIA, they're going to have to work together.

HelenKay Dimon knows her way around attraction and heat between characters which makes for an enjoyable read, but the plot is a little convoluted and I still feel like the reason these two end up stuck together is a little over-the-top. I haven't read anything by her previously, but I understand that the character blackmailing Gaige and Alec into working together is a hero in one of her other books which makes me wonder if she was trying a little too hard to connect the world she's building in "Dirty Games" to her previous series.

In some ways, I was a little lukewarm in regards to this book, but it did make me interested in Finn, whom I liked a lot and I did enjoy the book overall. I didn't read it compulsively, but I did have fun reading it, and I'll definitely be reading the next in the series.

What a good way to start a series! I have read Helenkay Dimon's books in the past, but this was the first m/m book of hers I read and she did a great job. There was intrigue and suspense, with scorching hot love scenes to boot! I'm hoping for more books to follow.

Loosely related to Dimon's Tough Love series, Dirty Deeds is definitely enjoyable: it has some mystery, spicy love scenes, and an interesting couple. I was not a huge fan of the insta-lust (a staple, it seems, in romances these days), but it was still worked. I won't go into a plot summary (because you can just read it above - it's fairly accurate). I will say one character has some serious control issues (to the point I found it a bit unsettling), but what stood out with that is that they worked through them. Enjoyable all around.

I really enjoyed DIRTY DEEDS. It is filled with hot men, intrigue, government agencies with letters in their name and lots of hot sex. The pacing is tight even around all the twists and turns. There is also a lot of character growth especially in Alec.



Readers are also given the chance to check back on characters that have appeared in earlier books by Ms. Dimon. It was great to see Seth and to know that his relationship is still working out. The Drummond brothers also appeared in earlier books and I was so glad to see that Alec was given his own book.


That being said, I did find some content errors that might very well have been corrected in the final version. That I can't say as I was given a review arc to read. These errors did pull me out of the story as I tried to puzzle them out. I doubt if they were bother a lot of people but they tend to drive me nuts.


I do think that my readers would enjoy DIRTY DEEDS but I do want to give a gentle warning that there is a lot explicit sex between men so if you have any objections to that, avoid this book. On the same vein if your son or daughter wants to read it, be sure that you check it out first.

Alec Drummond, a hard-assed billionaire, catches Gaige Owens trying to hack into his computers. After it is revealed Gaige is working for the government as it is suspected someone working for Alec may be tampering with the seed vault Alec meticulously runs. Rightfully suspicious of government monitoring, Alec agrees to let Gaige stay undercover for free access to investigate the tampering but Gaige will be under Alec's consistent watch the entire time. And it doesn't help that Gaige is exactly Alec's type.

Gaige and Alec make an enjoyable couple and, like in Pathogen, they are smart, logical characters. Given the premise, it was nice to see such competency in a genre where it would be very easy to fluff your way to getting the pair in bed. Despite this, there are several places where more description was necessary and more subtlety was needed. I was able to guess who the villain was the second they were introduced and thus it made the rest of the book less suspenseful for me. All I ended up really caring about is how Alec and Gaige were going to work out their mistrust and get together. Their relationship is hot and sweet, the sex scenes are blush-worthy and don't linger too long, but in the end, I can't say this will leave much of an impact on me. I had fun reading it, though. 3 out of 5.

I think I'm done with this series. I really enjoyed the first 2 books. But the 3rd and now this, the 4th book felt flat to me. I had a really hard time connecting with, or even rooting for, Alec & Gaige. I just wasn't interested in the characters or where the story was going.

Still a fan of the author, but am finding the series losing steam.

Not only was this a HOT read it had me so engrossed in the suspenseful story line that I didn't want to put it down...unfortunately sleep finally did take over but I picked it up as soon as I woke and dove back in.

I was intrigued with Alec when we met him in Guarding Mr. Fine and I was thrilled when I saw that he was going to get his own HEA. The chemistry between Alec and Gaige was great, it was simmering in the background until it came to a full boil and couldn't be ignored any longer.

The Dirty Series is a loose spin-off of The Tough Love Series you do not have to read the Tough Love Series in order to read this one which looks like it will revolve around the Drummond brothers since Finn's story is up next in Dirty Games.

I enjoyed reading Gaige and Alec’s story. I can’t wait to read Alec’s brothers stories. Gaige and Alec will irritate you at times but they do keep you in the moment. Both have had so much taken from them and trust issues but learn with the help of each other to move on. They are softies underneath the gruff exterior and do capture you.

I felt for Trent man. Poor guy he didn’t catch a break in this story.Hope things go his way soon. Seth I didn’t enjoy seeing what a jerk he could be. He was manipulative and conniving. I understand why but doesn’t mean it was liked.

Gaige had had so much taken from him. Now he didn’t trust easily and guarded himself more. His past has him reeling in the now and wary of the future. So when he is pulled into a battle of seeds and intrigue it wasn’t willingly. Alec got intrigued by him the instant he saw him. Gaige was smart, sexy, mysterious and capable. He didn’t hold back what he was thinking and Alec found him to be fascinating and a breath of fresh air. He put him in his place something very few did. As the danger ratchets and Gaige shows his capability Alec trusts him more and lets him in. These two are on a fight for love, trust, respect and their life. Each lives are threatened in different ways.

The story has some very intimate scenes where both let each other in. Sexy scenes where we see them act on their insane attraction and twists and turns. As the danger is brought higher Alec and Gaige only have each other to figure out what is going on and why. Their trust becomes essential and we see it at the end where Alec will have you melt.
A fast paced story with twists and turns, mystery suspense and intrigue. A love story that starts out as just a way to work off the energy and attraction and becomes more. It becomes trust,respect, being equals and love. A nice beginning to a new series that is sure to give us lots of sexy moments and intrigue.
