Ok confession time as I downloaded this without realising that it's essentially just a sample. Still I was very intrigued by the characters introduced and think that Berg the big, slightly scary grizzly is going to be a bit of a handful. Oh and speaking of handfuls he is about to come face to very naked face with Charlie who is a honey badger! If you've ever read a story by this author then you already know where honey badgers go trouble and general mayhem is never that far away ! I'm really interested to find out what happens next so will look out for this when it's released.

I recieved the first chapter of this book to read and review. It was action packed and humorous. I love the characters already (Coop is so cute!). I will get the full book when it releases and read it.

This is definitely an interesting start. I do not usually read excerpts because I am not a fan of starting something I don’t even have the option to finish at the time. That being said I really liked the start of this one. The reader is introduced to a few characters and the dangers they are facing. Looking forward to reading the rest of the book.

I received an excerpt of this book, but man, it starts off like a tornado. I was instantly thrown into an exciting action scene. There was lots of references to paranormal/animal morphing people and the whole thing made me want to read more. I'm definitely going to have to read the rest of the book.

The first chapter to this book is action packed from the first page. Charley wakes to a phone call telling her to get out now, and without a thought, she leaps from bed, out the sliding glass door, is shot, falls over the balcony, and lands naked on someone else's balcony.

Berg is the bodyguard for Coop, a famous pianist. Luckily, he is also a grizzly shifter so when armed men come after the woman on his balcony he is able to fight them off while Charley makes her escape. Even though Charley lost her glasses in her hotel room, she is interested in the giant that saved her, she thinks he sounded cute and he was so nice!

Amongst all the blood and violence, there is still humor (typical Shelly Laurenston humor). This chapter sets up Berg and Charley meeting, introduces Charley and her sisters, and teases the reader to find out where the relationship between Charley and Berg will lead.

I haven't written a review since I only got one chapter, but I will say that I am jonesing for the rest of the book!

This was my first taste of this author and it definitely left me wanting more. I'll definitely be purchasing the book so I can read it in its entirety.

I've been reading Laurenston for years. I've read the Pack Challenge trio, the long Pride series, Hunting Season, and the first of her new Norse mythology series. I got sick and didn't have the energy to read, and got behind on my series. When I finished the last of the Pride series I was sad. I thought that was probably it for the characters I'd spent so much time with. Earlier this month I was scrolling around on NetGalley and saw the blub about Hot and Badgered and that it's the first of a new, related, shifter series. I was thrilled to know I'd get to dive back into the shifter world.

I read this chapter this morning and loved it. I can't wait for the book to come out.

Verdict - Based on previous works and chapter one, Recommended.

I was so disappointed when I came to the end of the excerpt. What? Only one chapter? Major sad! Because I was already laughing out loud, completely involved in the story, and thinking, who IS this Laurenston chick and how have I overlooked her? Oh yeah, I don't like shifter stories... Well, if you don't either, it's time to set aside your prejudices - just this once - and try this book. At least download the sample. If you don't end up buying the book, I'll eat my Kindle 10. Enjoy ;)

Just a chapter excerpt left me wanting more - which brought me straight to my favorite book-seller to pre-order Hot and Badgered.

When I requested this book to review, I had not idea it would be just the first chapter. How in the world do you review a book based on one chapter? Will I like the book? Of course I will. It is a Shelly Laurenston book after all. Will it be one of my favorites? Probably. It does have bears and honey badgers.

BUT I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE THE FIRST CHAPTER!

I was so disappointed when I realized I didn't have the entire book. Oh well, something to look forward to.

This had me hooked from the start, and I want more. I need to know what is going on, and what is going to happen. Are they going to see each other again. I only got a chapter excerpt from netgalley and I really want to have the book, like right now. I mean giving me a excerpt is teasing me, when I want more.😊

A great start with a plot that drags you in from the start

So I was a bit disappointed when I first requested this book. I thought it was the whole shabang, but alas it is not. Just a chapter excerpt. In the typical Laurenston fashion, you have a bit of pandemonium, thrown in with a lot of confusion and totally hilarious moments that make you fall in love with the characters. In this first book of The Honey Badger series we have Charlie, Maxie and Stevie MacKilligan. They are sisters and by the introduction in this chapter they are in trouble. Lol. I loved it, even with the disappointment. So far, so good and I can't wait for the full edition!

This review is going to be super short because I accidentally asked for (and got) a sneak peek of Hot and Badgered. I got the first chapter and what a first chapter it was!! I was hooked and super disappointed when it ended. I need to know more about Berg and Charlie. I need to know where their romance is going. I also need to know why Charlie’s father is trying to kill her. I also need to find out how a honey badger shifter and a grizzly bear shifter romance is going to turn out.

So, guess I am going to go get the book when it’s published. Unless I get the full ARC.

Since this is a chapter excerpt I'll keep this short and succinct - guys, I think I'm in love.

Laurenston (and her alter-persona, GA Aiken) has not let me down with any of her books. They're fun, they're quippy, they're light-hearted and they're exciting. Be it Valkyries, Dragons or Honey Badgers she brings the fun and the heat.

And as someone who REALLY ENJOYED the last time we got a Honey Badger romance (BITE ME) all I can really say is this: get better security because a Honey Badger never fails.

I only received a brief look into this book (Hit and Badgered), from NetGalley for my honest review/opinion.

What a tease!! I was starting to really get into it and WHAM! Brief over. Lol. There's really not much I can say except; Naked shifter female gets attacked by military trained men. Goes out hotel window, which by the way was far from the ground. Two other male shifters one a body guard/baby sitter, the other an annoying (but FUNNY) prodigy, were in another hotel suite talking when naked girl comes thru their window. Male shifters do the usual male reaction, they gawk at her. Hotel room door crashes in, seems military has found naked girl and gunfire goes off. One of the male shifters gets p**sed when bullets hit him and his"hump" Starts to grow on his back between shoulder blades. Takes care of military jerk. Female goes to leave, the other male shifter, Jackal, reminds female she's naked. Jackal grabs shirt outta his bag for her. But mistakenly gives her his favorite t-shirt and she takes off. Grizzly asks jackal: "Do you think I'll see her again?"

My recommendation? I.can't.wait. for this release!! I know this was merely a glimpse. But I still was busting up laughing. All the shifter books the author has written that I've read, The Pride and Magnus series plus all earlier dated one's, were awesome!! So, Hell yeah I highly recommend. Plus, I encourage you to check out her other books as well.
