The cover and title were what drew me to the book and in all honesty things started off really well. I was drawn into the story and quite curious to how the various issues would twist and turn before they were resolved, liked Skylar and Travis, and for awhile I was all in but then that “thing” happened. That one situation and they way it was handled that had me going WT^?!? And from there things shifted. I still enjoyed the story, but not as much as I had hoped to.
As much as I liked Skylar and Travis and could definitely see them being perfect for each other, their constant push/pull was tiring and quite frankly felt like they should have been in YA romance in how they were dealing with the attraction between them, but I was still amused by them and wanted to see what they get up to next. Then that thing happened and all amusement faded and turned to eye rolling annoyance and from there on out their constant battle just irritated me. So with neither pulling on their sh#tkickers and actually doing something to finally get past their issues and be together, my interest died.
But even though my interest in the romance side gone, I had gotten so far into the story that I needed to see how everything played out and while things did end up working out in the end, I still feel like there should have been...more, but then again maybe that was the point to keep people wanting more. I did want to love this book, but it didn’t turn out that way. I really liked the guys in the Heaven’s Sinners, Chevy was my fav, and Sara and Debbie. Michael...well he started off okay, but I want to smack him with a 2x4. I’m not sure if I will be picking up the next in the series, but I will keep an eye out to see who it will be about.
DNF. I struggled with this one a bit and after a while I just don't think this one was for me. And had to give up.
I think the author's other series (One Night in South Beach) might be more my jam.

Biker B*tch was my first time reading anything written by Andie J. Christopher, whilst there was a lot to like about this book, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. This title has quite a few misconceptions shared between the characters and the drama fuels quite an angst ridden read, that was a bit over the top for my liking.
Skylar is a strong, hard working, determined, yet vulnerable character. Although quite like-able, at times she was a bit too snarky and catty in the way she interacted with the hero Travis for my liking. For me Travis was a very endearing character, a good guy who is protective and loyal to the town he was raised in. It was quite different to read an MC romance, that is not about a 1% outlaw motorcycle club.
I enjoyed the intrigue and suspense, but would have preferred the series of events leading to Skylar's father's incarceration and friend's death to have been in one flashback or in the prologue rather than snippets being revealed throughout the story line.
Overall this book is well written, and has quite an original plot, and the side characters were quite intriguing and I will look forward to reading their stories at some point in the future.
FULL DISCLOSURE: This is NOT an outlaw MC ... I repeat, NOT an outlaw MC. It's still however, a motorcycle club by definition: A motorcycle club is a group of individuals whose primary interest and activities involve motorcycles. It's that simple. Some are outlaws and some are just a group of guys who happen to ride motorcycles that form a club like Heaven's Sinners.
Okay then ... let's talk about this story for a bit. So Skylar and Travis have a bit of history. Well, lots of it actually LOL For reason that you will find out in the book, Skylar left town a long time ago with the intentions of not looking back. But then life kicked her in the butt and here we are. The sparks between Skylar and Travis are still there, but Skylar doesn't want to get sucked back in. So there's a lot of push-pull going on here. And there's also a lot of misconceptions about who/what Travis really is, because of the Heaven's Sinners. But really, those misconceptions should not have actually even been part of the equation because Skylar was fully aware of what the club was really like and why they formed. So for me, it seemed like a bit too much drama for the sake of drama. It's not a short story in the least and although I did enjoy it overall, I'd have to say that the angst between Skylar and Travis was more drawn out than it should have been and it made me not enjoy the story on too many occasions.
Overall, I have to say it's not a bad start to a series. I do hope Andie J. Christopher will continue writing stories in this world because you don't really see this side of an MC world written too often. It's refreshing to read about a band of brothers that are not outlaws!

At 18, Skyler left the Russian River Valley broken in every way. Her father was sent to prison on a murder charge and the boy she loved with all of her 18-year-old heart rebuffed her.
The boy who rebuffed her? Well, he's now the president of an MC and all Skyler can see is that he's become just like her father. She expected more of Travis. After all, it was her father who played a huge part in getting his brother killed.
Both Skyler and Travis have issues that stem from the events of ten years ago and each are trying to work through those issues as best they know how. Travis is taking a proactive approach while Skyler is growing adept at hiding her head in the sand.
A good book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I'm not sure I would consider this one an MC read. It was more Travis was part of an MC but the story didn't revolve around that setting. Skyler is moving back to the town she grew up in. Her father was the town doctor and the President of a 1% club. She was dragged into club business that got them both arrested and her best friend's brother killed. She's been in love with Abner Travis for as long as she can remember when she throws herself at him and he denies her by breaking her heart, she leaves town. Now she's back and Travis is the one person she hopes to avoid, but buying his parent's land makes that all but impossible. One thing she despises is an MC club and to find out Travis is part of one and her father's past has come to destroy her future, Travis is the only one that can help her.
This had a great plot but I felt like I was missing something. I don't know what, but I needed just a bit more.

OMG! The drama! Rival biker gangs, exploding meth labs, a manipulative wealthy ex-boyfriend, and a childhood friend who is both a successful artist and the leader of a justice seeking biker gang make for an interesting life when Skyler returns to her hometown as an adult. Part small town romance and part crime story, this isn’t quite the biker story I expected from the title.
The main romance in this story is between Skyler and her childhood friend, Travis. After the gang crime that destroyed both of their families, Travis now runs a clean biker gang that carries out vigilante justice for the police. Skyler thinks Travis is still working with the gang that killed his brother and put her father in prison. The chemistry between these two is hot but the miscommunication between them becomes frustrating after a time.
I felt that there were too many other things happening in this novel and the huge cast of characters quickly became confusing for me. I didn’t quite follow the biker gang conflict or the Meth storyline and I struggled to follow the relationship between Skyler and her father. Add in the slightly dysfunctional relationship Skyler has with her best friend, a wealthy tech entrepreneur, and her relationship with an increasingly sinister college boyfriend and I was thoroughly confused at times. There are too many filler details in this story and too many subplots that start but never go anywhere.
There aren’t many nice or good people in Skyler and Travis’ lives. I’m not even sure how much I liked Skyler by the end of the story. She feels very young for her age and some of her actions are quite selfish and thoughtless. I did like Travis and his alternative gang and I’d really like it if the next book focuses more on the men and their gang rather than the events and people in their small town.

With a title like this, how could I say no? I had an idea of how this story would go but the name fooled me. I don’t think Skyler Clark is much of a biker bitch at all. In fact, she's a winemaker. Leaving her home in wine country, and her 1% outlaw biker dad, Skyler moves to France after college to become a vintner. Coming back home to run the vineyard at her old neighbor's place, she finds herself back in the town where it all went wrong and where her dad went to jail. Also, back to Travis, Abner Travis to be exact. He's her childhood crush who subsequently crushed her teenaged heart after his rejection graduation night.
So, the story has a lot of stuff going on, there's the 1% MC that got her dad sent up to Chino for murder, then there's Travis' club that is trying to keep the drugs out of the small town. We have meth cookers and wine makers side by side in this small Californian town. There's also high class, rich, best friends who are funding Skyler's dreams and ex-boyfriends in the fray. Skyler has a bit of an identity crisis. Is she a biker b*tch or is she an up and coming vintner? I had a hard time finding her identity myself. Travis is well written though, he's alpha and rough. He knows what he wants and who he is, he has no qualms getting it done. Some pretty steamy scenes and good chemistry between Skyler and Travis! Then there's the town sheriff and there is also the 1%'s Sergeant of Arms for the Santos Diablos, Deacon. Deacon lets Skyler go when he should have killed her! So, who exactly is Deacon?? I’m unsure if these side characters are as they seem at first. So, the next book seems to be set up well with a good amount of curiosity built in. I enjoyed the story with its many twists and turns, even if at times I thought it was a tad long-winded. The ending seemed a bit rushed and the epilogue gives a nice ending, but a ton of loose ends. Entertaining for sure!

This is the first in a new series, and introduces the set up in a very natural and interesting way. It also gives us plenty of characters who should be in line for a happily ever after of their own in future instalments.
We immediately get to understand the problems facing the current couple, as we are given a snippet of their past – but we also get to see that they are definitely meant to be together, even if life tears them apart.
Skip forward to now, and their careers have crossed, he has traded in wine making for bikes, and she is now a talented and well qualified wine creator, about to revitalise the Travis winery. The attraction, however, is as strong and inconvenient as ever. Skyler faces many difficulties returning to her home town, thanks to her incarcerated father, and an unfounded reputation. And as we watch these play out, Travis does his best to deal with the feelings of possessiveness that he can no longer deny. It makes for a drama filled romance, that is for sure – although, when the two of them get together, it is passion fuelled for sure!
There are some lovely side characters, such as Sara and Debbie, and some super bad ones like Deacon, who all combine to add a real feeling of community to the book – even if a damaged one on the underside. I'm keen to read on and find out more, so hopefully the next instalment will be available soon.
Skyler Clark walked away from the place she called home ten years ago after the actions of her father came crashing down around her. Knowing she was leaving she acted on her feelings for Abner Travis but was rejected, that rejection still stings ten years later. Now she is back and has bought his family's vineyard and Skyler is doing her best to avoid him.
Travis wants Skyler, he is not sure where it will lead but he needs her like he has never wanted someone before. Skyler isn't interested especially since he is a biker and she has lumped him into the same territory she lumps her dad. Travis is out to prove Skyler wrong and when they do come together both are not certain if they will ever be whole without the other.
This had quite a bit more to the story, Travis is a bit of a vigilante with the Heaven's Sinners MC. I enjoyed this quite a bit and definitely want to see where the other characters in this story lead to. Travis is all man and I thought this couple ignited each page they were on. Very entertaining and a fantastic way to start series.
Biker B*tch is one of those reads where I was unsure what rating to give the book. There were some four star moments throughout, but in the end I opted to round my rating down to three stars. Overall, it’s more of a three-point-five rating, but it wasn’t quite at the level where I round my ratings up. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good story – I’d simply been expecting something a little bit more.
The story itself was extremely addictive. Once you’re pulled into the story, you’re left curious as to how the details will play out. You know there will be drama, you expect a happily ever after, yet you’re not one hundred percent sure as to how the specific details will come together. Thus, you’re addicted. Despite this addiction, it does take a bit of time before you’re truly pulled into the story. The prologue grabs you, but then the first few chapters are rather slow. In fact, there’s quite a bit of time pass before the story reaches the intense level that creates addiction.
Once the story is moving, there are many entertaining scenes to be found. There are quite a few clichés, the things you see across many books in this genre, but they’re mixed in so well with the overall story, that they’re not as annoying as they could be. I admit that there were a few points where I rolled my eyes at the clichés added, but for the most part it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. These things were added to increase the drama, and such is what happened.
I admit that the ending felt a bit too quick for my liking. The element of the story we’d been working towards throughout the entire book seemed to be over almost as soon as it started. I simply would have liked a bit more, considering it was such a central element to the overall story.
Whilst I was addicted to the story, I wasn’t quite as pulled in as I would have liked to be by certain elements. However, the characters were enjoyable throughout. I enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters, I enjoyed the connections between all of the characters, and I enjoyed the side characters. Although I wasn’t as crazy about this book as I would have liked to be, it certainly left me interested in seeing what the next book brings. There’s such potential for the future stories of the other characters we were introduced to, and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
Overall, it was a promising start to the series. It wasn’t quite what I had hoped for, but it was enough to leave me curious about what comes next.
By 30% this book felt like it was going nowhere and the main characters were just circling around one another and hadn't even been on a date, not even a biker style one. Once Ginger met Skyler, and gave her the "you might as well reap the fruits of my labor" speech and this was supposed to be a good thing, I was done.
DNF
It’s been 10 years since Skyler’s life was rocked to its core when her dad, the MC president, was found guilty in the death of one of her best friends Isaac, who was also Travis’s brother. To make things worse Travis, the boy she was crushing on, rejected her and having no reason to stay in town left for college. She has been making wine since she finished college so when one of her friends purchased the winery that Travis’s family previously owned she headed home to manage it.
Upon the death of his father Travis sold the family business and spends his time making metal sculptures. He is part of the Heaven’s Sinners MC who try to keep order in the town and ensure the other MC does not destroy the town with drugs and violence.
Ten years ago Travis let Skyler go as he felt she needed time to overcome the trauma she experienced and that she deserved better than him but now that she is back he will stop at nothing to make her his. Skyler tries to keep her distance as she was devastated about what happened 10 years ago and she wants to stay as far away from any MC as possible but will she realize that they are meant to be together before it is too late?
The storyline has a good mixture of suspense, drama, angst and chemistry and I look forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Skylar Clark left her small town years ago to attend college. She never thought she would be leaving feeling rejected and completely humiliated after her crush rejects her. 'Travis' has always felt a connection to Skylar but knew she deserved more than a small town biker, so he pushed her away until she couldn't be pushed any further. Now years later Skylar is back after her best friend buy's the vineyard that the Travis family once owned. She's determined to make the winery a success again, but she's soon to discover the one man she can't get out of her head is adamant at rectifying the connection that had Travis pushing her away to begin with. He's not scared to bring out the big guns and protect what is his from this moment on. Only Skylar refuses to fall victim to the charm that had her leaving town a broken-hearted mess.
Biker B*tch is the first novel I have read by author Andie J. Christopher. I really enjoyed the story this novel weaves, but i had an issue that was constantly getting in the way.
My first issue is the fact that this novel talks a lot about Issac, 'Travis' brother and a drug deal gone bad that led Skylar's dad who is a doctor but also in an MC to end up in prison for life. The subject was danced around but I wish that situation could have been a prologue or something. It would have better defined this novel. Because of this I felt a gap in the novel.
another issue I had (this is really my own fault so don't take this too much to mind) I'm used to reading outlaw MC novels. I expected this to be just like that, but this MC is different, they go around protecting their town from threats and running out all the drug dealers. I liked this concept but it made this novel seem a little less MC to me.
As for the characters, I really enjoyed Skylar and the fact that she didn't fall to her knees and forgive 'Travis' for humiliating her all those years ago. I also loved the fact that she was a hard worker and adamant on getting the vineyard up and running. She was also strong coming back to ta town where she knew she wasn't going to be welcomed to especially after her father had a hand in getting one of the golden son's gunned down.
Overall, I did enjoy this novel. I loved the connection between Skylar and Travis, I loved the second chance feel to this novel and how in the beginning Travis was willing to do what he thought was the right thing instead of listening to his heart and forcing Skylar to stay like he wanted.
Honestly I am excited to see where this series is going and can't wait for the next book. Even though I had a few issues with the story I was intrigued by the characters and the story line.
i've read andie christopher's miami-based series and have really enjoyed those novels, so when i saw that biker b*tch was available for request i jumped at it even though i'm on the record as having issues with motorcycle club romances. i don't usually comment on the level of edit on galley proofs, because i know that they are not the final versions of the manuscripts, but in this case it has to be said that i hope this was an early version and that the final version will have some substantive editing because there were copious errors and misspellings, but even beyond that it was clear that the manuscript still needed some tightening.
the basic story is that skyler and travis grew up together and have basically been in love with each other forever without admitting it. when skyler turns eighteen her life goes to hell. her father is arrested for being a bad guy, the leader of a motorcycle club known for its illegal transactions, for bringing the drug trade to their town, and for getting travis's older brother killed. skyler was also arrested although even at the time it was clear that she wasn't involved with anything nefarious. so on her eighteenth birthday she and travis get it on, only he stops before he can take her virginity and basically rejects her.
she's humiliated and leaves town and never looks back. until a decade later when her best friend bought the travis winery for skyler to develop and run. coming back home she's forced to face the demons of her past as well as her ongoing feelings for travis. these feelings are complicated by the fact that he is the founding member of a new motorcycle club, and skyler doesn't want to be part of the motorcycle club lifestyle as she assumes they all skirt the law in some way.
but the reality is that travis actually works with police to keep drugs and bad things out of their town. and from the moment he sets eyes on skyler again he knows that he will make her his. there's no other choice. in ten years he's never forgotten her effect on him. and now it's the right time to do something about it.
here's the thing, i enjoyed the romance. the problem was that the sections dealing with the two rival motorcycle clubs were confusing. there's supposed to be a mystery but it's clear who the perpetrators are, but their motivations are never clear and the resolution does little to explain things. for example, at some points deacon, one of the rival gang members, seemed like he was an undercover agent of sorts, so it was super confusing to realize that he was actually just a bad guy.
this is one of those manuscripts that i think needed more polish before being sent out for review, so it feels unfair to grade it. there's a lot of good material here, and the characters are good, but it's hard to overlook the problems given that it's not clear that they will have been fixed before publication.
I can only take so much repetition. I get it. She,doesn't think anyone in town likes her. She feels responsible for everything, including the actions of her dad and other gang members. She hates him, but then she has sex, with him. Over and over. At 40% when we are still in this circle I can't read any further. I don't care anymore.
This one is 3.5 stars for me. I liked the story, and it kept my interest, but I had issues with a lot of the decisions of the main characters.
Skyler Clark is back in her home town in northern California to make wine. She's been gone for 10 years, ever since her life came crashing down around her. Her dad, the local town doctor-turned-murdering outlaw motorcycle club president, went to prison after getting one of her best friends killed. She grew up chasing after Isaac and Abner Travis. Their family owned a winery, and their moms were best friends. She grew up around their vineyard. She was with them a lot, especially after her mom died from cancer and her dad started going off the deep end. She found an older brother in Isaac, and in Abner, known to all as Travis, she found so much more. But after her father caused Isaac's death and went to prison, she fled town, and what was left of the Travis family. She went to college, and then lived in France making wine, until she told off someone important and lost her job. Now her college best friend, and ultra-rich tech guy, Michael, has bought the old Travis vineyard and homestead, so she can make wine.
Abner Travis, Travis to most everyone, has been living in the same town all his life. Once his dad passed away, and Travis knew he had no interest in running the family business, he sold it to a holding company. Travis makes sculptures out of found objects and metal, and he's sold them to some big names. He makes a decent living, and shares work space with his best friend Chevy, who runs a motorcycle shop. After what happened to his older brother, and the way Skyler, his Carrots, ran out of town, he never really had any plans to be in a MC. But, when Doc Clark's old MC was still trying to run drugs after he went to prison, Travis grabbed some friends and banded together to form the Heaven's Sinners MC. They are NOT 1 percenters, so they aren't outlaws. They do good for their community, in more ways than anyone knows. They work hard to keep drugs out of town, and keep the peace, often stepping in when local law enforcement can't or won't. When Skyler shows up back in town, he knows it's his chance to try to be with her for real. She was too young, and had so much upheaval in her life before that he could never act of his feelings.
Skyler and Travis had amazing chemistry, and you could tell how well they still knew each other, even after all this time. But, Skyler was trying so hard not to get involved with him, even though deep down I think she knew it was inevitable. Also, I think she knew that he was nothing like her dad, regardless of his "biker" lifestyle. And since I feel she knew these things already, every time she was hateful to him, or rude, or just plain bitchy, it just annoyed me. I get that she had a very hard life, and that he's connected to that past more than anyone else, but I kept just wanting to scream at her to grow up and stop being so mean. Travis really wanted her from the start, and she kept pushing and pulling and I didn't like that.
There was a bit of a suspense side plot regarding her dad's old club and their drug business, and that was entertaining and exciting. Skyler was determined to keep all of that badness away from her new life, but many people in town won't let her forget her past. And many of them also think she should have been in jail right alongside her dad. She has to work really hard to gain any respect in town, especially in regards to her winemaking.
The overall story was intriguing, and I liked several of the side characters, so I would definitely be willing to read more from this series, but I wanted to love this one so much more than I did. I liked how it all ended up, but getting there was sometimes painful for me. I guess there was just more angst than I typically like in my romance. I've read other works by this author, and I've liked them, so I'll keep trying when she has a new book. If you like your romance angsty and hard fought, this one is probably for you.
I am a little torn about this book. I love Skyler as a character as well as Travis but I did feel like for some reason there was a disconnect with the characters. I also wish that we could have seen a little more from the teenage years so that we could get a real feeling of why they liked eachother in the first place. I did however love the later chemistry that I felt between the two of them. I did get a little frustrated that they never really had a real conversation, it felt like they were just trying to keep important things secret from eachother and then would argue and jump right into bed. The sex scenes were steamy and well written. In summary I did have some issues with this book but I still had a good time reading it and would read more by the author.
3.5 stars.
New author for me. This was more a romance than MC book. While I didn't feel a strong connection to characters I thought this was an ok, quick and easy read. I enjoyed the story and will read more from this author.
Never read this author before, or even heard of this author. but after reading this book. WOW. I'm hooked!!! I absolutely loved it. Alpha male, strong willed female, angst. What's not to love!?
