This is a fast paced read with lots of suspense and drama. Ginny is marrying a man to help save her father’s company and not a good man either. Tony is an ex- MMA fighter now learning to run the family business and once engaged to Ginny’s sister. When Ginny is beaten by Fedor she runs to Tony the attraction between them still there after they shared a kiss years ago. Can Tony save his father’s company and Ginny at the same time? This was a good read for me, Tony and Ginny are steamy together and the story is entertaining. I really liked it.
Jessica Linden’s Hold You Close is the second, stand-alone book in her fight for me series, and is a sweet and steamy second-chance romance. Ginny Frazier met Tony Adamo when he was engaged to her sister, and she attracted to him even though he was off-limits. Her sister cheated Tony, and he saw her for the jerk she truly was. He realizes he’s attracted to Ginny, and they share a kiss neither can forget.
He runs into Ginny at a dinner affair several years later, and he wants her. They share a kiss that knows their socks off, but Ginny runs away without telling Tony she is engaged. When he finds out and sees who she is engaged to, he is determined to ensure this marriage is truly what Ginny wants. What he doesn’t know is that she is agreeing to the marriage in order to save her family’s business.
Tony is protective and sexy, and he falls hard for Ginny. I love their dynamic, and I found this romance sexy, entertaining and highly enjoyable.
How horrible would it be to fall in love with your sisters fiance? I can't even imagine how horrible that would be!!!
Ginny and Tony's timing always seem to be off. When they see each other again, Tony wants what he didn't have before...Ginny. Tony is used to getting what he wants, when he wants. Now that he's running the family's company, he needs to make himself happy in his personal life.
Ginny tries to help everyone, even if they won't help her. I wanted to smack the crap out of her sister. What a selfish, selfish woman. Ginny tries to see the best in everyone and she gets herself into some bad situations from it. When the only person she can turn to is Tony, he is more than willing to help.
Will he be too late to get her out of the trouble she finds herself in? Will they be able to wade through all of the problems that they have going on in their professional life and personal life?
I definitely would have liked to see more of the MMA aspect of the book but all in all I enjoyed this book. Will definitely keep reading this author, can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.
'Hold You Close' by Jessica Linden is Book Two in the "Fight for me" series. This is the story of Tony Adamo and Ginny Frazier. I have not yet read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book.
Tony once was engaged to Ginny's sister but her sister broke it off by going for another man who was higher up in money and prestige than Tony. That was several years ago and now Tony happens upon Ginny at a dinner affair where he remembers a kiss they once shared. Tony gets her alone and kisses her once more but Ginny runs away. Tony later learns she is engaged to a dangerous man. But Ginny is trying to save the family business by marring this man....never thinking she would see Tony again. Ginny always had a crush on Tony but it to late for them....she promised to another.
A great second chance a love story. Enjoyed it.

Ginny has always had a huge crush on Noah but, he fell in love with Ginny's older, more manipulative sister. It's been years now but, when Noah meets Ginny again, he realizes that he has never forgotten that one kiss they shared, nor has he forgotten the way it made him feel. He also realizes that Ginny is in some serious trouble because she is in an arranged engagement in order to save her family's business and her sister's freedom. The man Ginny is engaged to is much more dangerous and threatening than Ginny realized until he beats her one night. Adam realizes then, that he will do anything to keep Ginny safe and in his arms, no matter what it takes. Fast-paced read.
"Hold You Close" was a good well-balanced romance with a solid plot.
Admittedly, I am in a reading slump. I have been reading several books in a row that just aren't clicking for me. Maybe it's just bad timing, maybe it's me. Regardless, this book didn't work for me.
(1) No backstory - maybe I would have known already had I read the first book? Very little reference to Tony and Ginny's history caused me to lack a connection to the characters. It felt like the author assumed the connection would already be there, but it wasn't. She needed to build it for the reader.
(2,3,4_10) Ginny. My God, this woman got on my nerves. The author tried to make her seem selfless and courageous, but honestly she just came off as a naive idiot. There were so many moments where she acted like a teenager rather than the adult she actually is. And her reasons for being engaged to an old mobster seemed...insufficient to me. Didn't work. Couldn't stand her.
Great couple, loved the book. Didn't like her dad, but then I never like parent in books that sacrifice the kid (usually a daughter) to save themselves or the company
I wasn't aware that I requested a copy of this book - I'm sorry - but I'm glad I got a copy of it! It's taken me a little while to get my thoughts in order to write this review & I already feel it's not going to be worthy enough.. I am more than happy to review books that I've read, but I try to keep them as simple as I possibly can because I'm a firm believer of giving just enough to entice others to pick this book up. I like the excitement of finding out the storyline myself! So, simple is what you're getting! :) the main characters are amazing, developed super well. I loved their chemistry & the storyline, after the first few chapters, was wonderful.. some angst & sex scenes always make for an awesome book in my eyes! There were a few parts to this story that I genuinely thought 'What's the point? Skip it & move on!' Overall I think it is absolutely worth reading, but there are some definite slight improvements that could be made just to make it run a little smoother.
Ginny is supposed to be a elementary school teacher but she has had to help her fathers company that was in the red. She agrees to marry Fedor, a criminal and rich but with new money not old, in exchange he will put money in the company, not release evidence against her sister, and she was to introduce him to contacts to get him in legit business. When Fedor gets mad and beats Ginny, she throws herself out of his car, and runs. The only person she thinks to go to is Tony, her sister's ex fiancé.
Tony is a former MMA fighter and is being groomed as CEO of his family's pharmaceutical company. When he sees Ginny again at a function, all his feelings for her come rushing back. But she is engaged to a ruthless, horrible man. He tells her if she even needs him to call but he plans on doing everything he can to get her out of the situation she has found herself in.
When he finds her on his doorstep, he immediately takes her in and gives her a safe place to stay. But the feelings between them are explosive but first he wants her to heal emotional and physical before he takes her to bed. Because he intends to never let her go.
Tony has his own problems going on in his company concerning his father. Now he has to protect Ginny, find out what his father is up to, and try and take down Fedor.
It took a little while for me to get into this story. I just couldn't believe how Ginny could stick up for her sister who was a cruel, petty, spoiled woman. I wanted to slap her myself. The story was good and after the first several chapters, it starts to get really good. Some steamy sex. Evil men. And a knight rescuing the damsel.
Wow, Hold You Close, was a really great book. I had a hard time finding stopping points, just kept thinking one more chapter.
