I didn't complete this book. I found little interest in it.

Bram is a soldier who on the night before he deploys realizes he has been dating the wrong sister and finally shares a hot, and I mean, H-O-T, kiss with Jaelyn. This could have caused all sorts of complications if Jaelyn's sister had wanted Bram but she didn't. When Bram comes home he also brought back danger and trying to keep everything straight made me slightly dizzy. It was overall a good story just too busy. Great suspense and great heat.

Bram Magnus should have known better than to mix his military life with what was left of his civilian one. But, when he catches his girlfriend sneaking off onto the sunset with another man, Bran gets one chance with the only woman who has ever kept his interest, his now ex's sister. Stealing a kiss, shouldn't have rocked his world, but it changed everything. From the first time Jaelyn Sondors met the strong, honorable soldier with the piercing eyes, she wanted him. And when her sister casts him out, the day before he ships to Afghanistan, by cheating on him, she can't resist the chance to finally have a taste of all that is Bram. Their relationship was never supposed to happen, yet it was inevitable. But it is when enemies from war threaten to tear them apart that Bram will stop at nothing to keep Jaelyn safe and by his side. There are lots of players in the Unbroken Heroes series. While the focus this time is on Bram and Jaelyn, players from previous books are key to uncovering the truth behind the threat to Jaelyn and her family. Politics, corruption, greed, murder and military ops are entwined in this tale of love and survival. A military romance that will intrigue readers and keep them coming for more.

Not sure that I liked the sister cast offs. I had a hard time finishing it.

Take to the Limit is the 4th book in the Unbroken Heroes series from Dawn Ryder. I would like to preface my review with the fact I had not read the first 3 books in the series. I did feel like Take to the Limit read well as a stand-alone story, but do think I would have understood more of the dynamics of some of the other characters had I read the first 3 books first.

Take to the Limit was a good story, but I had some major issues with Bram going from dating LeAnn, the older sister to being with Jaelyn, the younger sister. I understood he and Jaelyn were insanely attracted to one another and had great chemistry, but it kinda weirded me out that he slept with both sisters. I did really like Bram with Jaelyn, but wondered why it didn't bother Jaelyn he had been with her older sister first.

The suspense portion of the story was good, but a little all over the place for me. I think part of that could be how the book was formatted. Honestly I had some trouble figuring out when we changed character point-of-view, as there were very few page breaks or chapter breaks. I did like how intense Bram was when it came to protecting those people he loved. I also found Jaelyn to be a way stronger heroine than I had originally expected and found myself actually having mad respect for her strength.

While I didn't love Take to the Limit, I did like portions of the book. I think maybe had I read the other books in the series first, I would have had a better understanding of all the characters. I did like many of the characters I met in Take to the Limit, and could see myself trying other books in the series to find out more about those characters.

Rating: 3 Stars (C)

It is long enough between stories that I am losing the overall plot of the series with the intrigue of the President and other decision makers. Putting all that to the side, this was a fun and easy to read romance. LeAnn was not a consistent character from start to finish, but everyone else was interesting and well-written. I enjoyed Bram and Jaelyn's story.

Action-packed, suspenseful romance with a sexy alpha-male that will leave you breathless and craving your next encounter. Transition from one characters POV was sometimes difficult to follow but the story line is simply a must read.

Take to the limit can be read as a standalone novel but I plan to read the other novels in the series.

Ok, so this is one of those books that's in between a standalone and cliffhanger. It focuses on one couple but there's obviously a continuous storyline that started in earlier books. Sometimes authors are able to provide just enough detail so you're not completely lost but not in this book. It was so difficult for me to read because I had no idea what was going on and it jumped around so much in between at least five POVs. I felt no connection with the characters or even between them. The sexy times were good but that's about it. If you haven't read the others, don't bother reading this one.

I got this book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, which I am happy to provide. I am really on the fence about this book, because I am sure if I had been familiar with the series I would have loved the read, but since this was the first book I read I felt lost at who all the people were and what Bram's backstory was, along with much of the action that was going on. So my suggestion would be that the series needed to be read in order, otherwise I liked the read overall, it had plenty of action and romance with some steamy lovemaking.

I really liked this read, so much suspense and drama, I was hooked from beginning to end. Bram and Jaelyn and great chemistry together, so steamy. Someone from Bram’s past wants to hurt him, will he use Jaelyn to do that? So entertaining, I couldn’t put it down.

This author is new to me, and as this is part of a series, I was a little apprehensive, but not disappointed. I soon became involved even though, I would have benefited from the background of some of the other characters. This can be read as a standalone.

Bram is in the military and is also part of the Shadow Ops special force. Honour is what's more important to him. He is in a no string attached relationship.

Jaelyn is the sister of Bram's girlfriend. Totally her opposite. She is family orientated and would do anything for her grandfather. He is adorable!

Just before Bram ships off to Afghanistan, he pays a surprise visit to his girlfriend, only to discover that she is cheating on him. He is not in the least bit upset! He has his eyes set on Jaelyn and has been secretly pining for her ever since they first met. She is besotted by him too. He acts on impulse and gives Jaelyn a smouldering kiss. To his surprise, she doesn't resist. Quite the contrary. He has never thought of settling down in the past but, his time in Afghanistan gives him a change of heart. He craves to see Jaelyn. She doesn't think that she will see him again and can't forget "the kiss".

He returns with the single focus of winning her over. The flames are ignited! Then, he finds that he has been followed and she is a target. He is prepared to protect her at any cost. As soon as one danger is out the way, he uncovers that there are others who want to get to him and the team. He takes the right measures but the oppositions are nothing, if not persistent and the heat is on. He has to make the best decision to keep her safe!

This is an action packed and fast paced thriller romance. There is betrayal with revenge and power as the main drivers. It's full of angst and suspense. I was completely captivated with the whole concept. Absolutely rivetting!

I received a complimentary eARC from the publisher via NetGalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

The book will definitely keep you on your toes and I loved Jaelyn’s strong will and ingenuity in the different situations she finds herself in.

Look forward to Dawn’s next book

4.5 stars-- TAKE TO THE LIMIT is the fourth installment in Dawn Ryder’s contemporary, adult UNBROKEN HEROES romantic, suspense series focusing on an elite Shadow Ops team. This is US soldier Bram Magnus, and accountant Jaelyn Sondor’s story line. DEEP INTO TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary although some of premise continues and is interconnected to earlier reads. Bram is brother to Zoe Magnus (Dangerous to Know #1).

Told from numerous third person perspectives including Jaelyn and Bram TAKE TO THE LIMIT is a romantic suspense story line that focuses on the building relationship between Bram and Jaelyn, and the threats against our hero, when the woman with whom he is falling in love, is targeted by someone from his past.

Bram Magnus was about to be deployed for another tour in Afghanistan when the woman he was seeing was caught with another man. Bram wasn’t too worried as he had his eye on someone else-Jaelyn Sonder’s-his ex-lover’s little sister. Six months would pass before Bram would come face to face with the woman who starred in all of his dreams. But return to civilian life came with a number of complications including a vendetta from the past; a psychotic former soldier; and threats to the woman with whom he was falling in love. What ensues is the building romance between Bram and Jaelyn, and the fall out when Jaelyn becomes prey in a game of power, vengeance and betrayal.

The relationship between Bram and Jaelyn is one of immediate attraction but the attraction is tempered by Bram’s involvement with Jaelyn’s older sister LeAnn. For six months Bram will ‘write’ to our heroine in the hopes of building something special upon his return but Jaelyn will never receive the letters, and is completely unaware of Bram’s feelings and love. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including brothers Saxon (Ginger Boyce) and Vitus Hale (Damascus Ryland), Shadow Ops section leader Kagan , Agent Dare Servant, Bram’s father Colonel Bryan Magnus , Jaelyn’s sister LeAnn Sonders, and their grandfather Milton Sonders who is not without some surprises of his own. The requisite evil has several faces and connections to our hero and Shadow Ops Teams. Dare Servant’s story line is next in CLOSE TO THE EDGE (February 2018).

TAKE TO THE LIMIT is a fast paced story of political intrigue; the power struggle on Capitol Hill, and the betrayal of the men who served their country. The premise is entertaining, engaging and gripping; the characters are dangerous, dynamic, colorful and passionate; the romance is intimate and intense. The back and forth between points of view is manic; the whip-lash affect may be too frantic for some readers as the story line relentlessly jumps between characters without so much as a break or introduction. TAKE TO THE LIMIT is an exciting, story of romance and suspense where danger follows on the path to power and control.

So let me start off by saying that I did not read the first 3 books in this series. Now that being said you don't need to but I did feel like a missing a little bit of some back stories by not reading those books. This book is all kinds of HOT, HOT, HOT. There is action, lots of trying to fight their feeling, a lot of love making. I also believe their is real growing up for some of the characters in this book. If you like action packed books with some hot sex scenes then this is the book for you.

Take to the Limit is another great read in our Unbroken Heroes series and we finally get Bram's book!

Bram and Jaelyn gas always has a spark which was largely ignored since Bram was dating her sister whew that part was a little doozy for me but once we got over that hump and they really get going you totally see it's always been Jaelyn all along. Add in a mysterious masked men, sinister plots, sexy times in and out of vehicles- we get one great read.

'TAKE TO THE LIMIT' by Dawn Ryder is book Four in the "Unbroken Heroes" series. This is the story of Bram and Jaelyn.
I have read the previous book but feel this can be a standalone book. Bram was dating Jaelyn older sister LeAnn. But the night before he is to deploy he goes to their house where he sees LeAnn with someone else. Bram isn't so much upset with her as with this ending his connection with the family. Jaelyn catches him outside the house and confronts him with that same thought...that he likes the family / home part of dating LeAnn and not the actually women. Jaelyn makes it clear that she wan'ts what her Grandparents had, which was love for each other and not a just now thing. Bram kisses her and then Jaelyn kisses him back making sure he knows what 'making love' is. Its giving back to the other person. While away doing his duty he can only think of Jaelyn and his attraction to her. Jaelyn does the same thing and knows she cares for him. But there is drama and a exciting story line that will bring them together.
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Not reviewing- notes sent to publisher. I read to 60% point before I gave up on this story. The parts with the hero and heroine were good. But the story had so many aspects going on that it was just hard to keep up with. You have military hero, dating your ex's sister, second chance, mystery, past feuds. It was just too much.

Take To The Limit brings us back into the Special Ops world of some very fine men, their ladies and their enemies. Brian and Jaelyn will have a lot to face together between family and enemies. This story is intense, yet I expect nothing less for these heroes.

LeAnn and Brian weren’t all that serous, yet cheating the night before he was to leave to face his next tour was definitely a seriously crappy move. While Brian had always been attracted to her younger sister, Jaelyn, he’d held back for obvious reasons. But Jaelyn took that control away when she showed him exactly what her feelings were with one steaming, serious kiss. Now everything has changed, two people who actually want to seriously be together get that chance… until enemies unite to make sure that no one has a happy ending.

Take To The Limit is an intense journey of new love and the actions of men out for their own versions of revenge. Of course, one family member causes trouble as well but that is nothing compared to kidnapping… or worse if their plans are successful.

I enjoyed this romantic suspense story on several levels. It’s always good to be back with the ‘crew’ of an ongoing series. And while the relationship between Brian and Jaelyn may have seemed taboo it truly wasn’t at all. He originally picked the wrong sister, life happens and we learn from mistakes. The real tensions come from old enemies pairing up to make life hell. The danger is off-set by the growing love between our couple. All they have to do for that happy ending is survive.

Once again, I enjoyed my time in this world and would recommend Take To The Limit, and the entire series to any reader who enjoys tightly woven plots, vile bad guys and one likable couple who will work their way through drama to their own happy ending.
