They are part of an elite unit. On task. Off grid. These are the men of the Shadow Ops task force. Be seduced and thrilled by Take to the Limit, the next Unbroken Heroes novel by Dawn Ryder.

Holding out for a hero

A hardened military machine, Bram Magnus is a tough, combat-ready, all-American hero who never surrenders. But the one thing he can't fight? His smoldering, intense attraction to his girlfriend's younger sister. He's always kept his feelings locked deeply down. But when his girlfriend betrays him the night before he ships off to Afghanistan, Bram has one chance to show the woman he's resisted for years that he wants her as fiercely as the first day he saw her.

Ever since her older sister first brought home the soldier with steely hard muscles and piercing eyes, Jaelyn has wanted Bram, and when her sister casts him aside the night before he leaves, Jaelyn can't resist one steamy hot kiss with him. But danger is not far behind, and even as a deadly enemy hunts them, their relationship only grows more explosive. It's all Bram can do to keep Jaelyn safe, but with a threat this powerful, will they pay the ultimate price for their passion?

Review:

This is my first time reading any of Ms. Ryder's works. I have been wanting to read them for awhile but the opportunity had not come up until now.

I will start off by saying this is book number 4 in the series, but it can totally be read as a stand alone with little difficulty. Like I said I had not read anything by her and I was not confused at coming in at book 4. I really liked the story and the characters and now I want to go back and read the others when I can get a chance.

In this book the main couple is Bram and Jaelyn. When they first act on their attraction, Bram is actually Jaelyn's sisters boyfriend. Which is kind of crappy but Bram and LeAnn have a very, weird relationship. Jaelyn is who Bram wants and he makes sure he comes back to claim her. Unfortunately because of his military and spy like past, he brings some trouble back with him. What ensues is Bram and Jaelyn fighting for their lives and to be together.

This book is very suspenseful and action packed. It is also very sensual and sexy, Bram & Jaelyn have great chemistry. I loved that both of them fight together and are both strong characters. It does have some light-hearted moments, especially where Jaelyn's grandfather is involved. It is told from multiple points of view. The only thing that bothered me was LeAnn, her character was not very likable through part of the book and then did an about face after that, maybe it was just me.

Very enjoyable romantic suspense.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Going in to this read, I was unaware it was several episodes into a series. There was a lot of background and characters that it referenced and I felt a little lost and disconnected for a while. However, I was able to quickly catch up and began to enjoy the bones of this story.

Bram has been having a thing with Jaelyn’s older sister until the night that LeeAnn leaves him for another man. Jaelyn cuts loose on him regarding his blasé behavior regarding her sister and his attitude toward life in general. This was just the thing to capture Bram’s attention and turn it toward her.

After his service in Afghanistan, he returns home to make Jaelyn his. However, there is someone who is watching him, looking for a weak spot and they find it in Jaelyn. When her life and that of her family are in danger and uprooted, Bram decides to do that right thing and cut Jaelyn loose. Too bad she’s not in agreement with that decision.

This was a nice read with lots of suspense and evil machinations. I wished I had read the previous books so I could’ve enjoyed it more.

Have you ever fallen for your girlfriends younger sister? That's just what Bram Magnus did. Combat-harden and military trained, Bram is always ready for any situation with only one exception, his intense attraction to his on again off again girlfriend's younger sister. When his girlfriend betrays him on the eve of shipping off to Afghanistan he finds comfort in her younger sister's kiss.

When LeAnn brings Bram home for the first time Jaelyn is infatuated with him, but she doesn't poach her sister's boyfriends. But when they catch LeAnn going off in the woods with another guy on the eve of Bram being shipped overseas, Bram knows that they are over and that there is no salvaging the relationship.

After he gets back from his tour the first stop he makes is to see Jaelyn, but of course LeAnn is there and she monopolizes all of Bram's time. But there is danger stalking Bram and he leads it right to Jaelyn's and her family's door. The danger just doesn't come on one front, enemies combine forces and come after Bram. Will he be able to keep everybody he loves safe?

Sometimes in life, we don’t get it right the first time around. Neil Armstrong would’ve never walked on the moon if Pioneer 4 hadn’t made it past Earth’s orbit. The world would’ve never experienced the pleasure of ice cream if refrigeration hadn’t been invented. And Bram Magnus would never have fallen in love with Jaelyn if he hadn’t snuck a kiss.

TAKEN TO THE LIMIT is a dichotomy. On the one hand, it’s a story of retribution for Rick Sullivan, left to die in a filthy prison with a hatred burning in his gut for “members of the Shadow ops team that had taken down the Raven.” It’s also a creepy stalker story, centering on a guy named Gideon who worked with Bram’s team at Cobra Fire Base, Afghanistan.

When Bram shipped out for duty, he brought with him a photo of Jaelyn and her sister, LeAnn. He and LeAnn had been hooking up casually for a while, though it was Jaelyn he really wanted. The night before shipping out to Afghanistan, he discovered LeAnn cheating on him and finally gave into temptation with Jaelyn … their kiss rocked his world. But Bram wasn’t the only person affected by this new attraction.

Creepy. Creepy and crazy often go hand-in-hand, and these guys have it in spades. Rick Sullivan is shrewd and determined to destroy the men who imprisoned him, and thrilled to help Gideon grab the object of his obsession: Jaelyn. It’s like a partnership made in hell. After all, why waste all his payback energy chasing after Bram when grabbing Jaelyn would bring the fight directly to him? So they grabbed Jaelyn and bolted.

Peppered in with the retribution and stalking is the practical problem of Bram falling for the sister of his ex-side piece. You just know that’s not going to be an easy transition. Most people have a come-to-Jesus moment at some point in their life, I think, and LeAnn’s was after Jaelyn was kidnapped. She finally comes clean about trying to sabotage the relationship by hiding the love letters Bram sent to her sister while he was deployed. Because, while LeAnn wasn’t necessarily interested in waiting around for him to become the love of her life, neither did she intend for her sister to be the focus of Bram’s love and affection.

Love is a powerful force. From the immortal words of Sting, “Love can mend your life, but love can break your heart.” For Bram, just the promise of love gave him hope. Life is hard. Love shouldn’t have to be.

I won't lie I was confused because I hadn't read the first three books.......I was a little put out by the 360 LeAnn seems to do from being all about to being all about family.....I loved that Bram finally seemed to get want he wanted with Jaelyn... This book is steamy hot with lots of action. Bad guys galore and the happily ever after. But I will say that if I was Jaelyn, I would have knocked my sister out if she took my letters and kept them from me. Off to read the first three books!!!

I'm sorry. This book was a DNR for me. I gave it about 20% of the book and still had absolutely no idea who the characters were or what the story was about. I don't usually do this but I truly could not get into this book

4 - "Honor..." Stars!

The fourth book in Dawn Ryder Unbroken heroes series; Take to the Limit finally gives us Bram Magnus’s story.

IMAGE.

This is a series I have read from the beginning ,and you 100% have to have done so to understand even a small percentage of what happens in this book, to be honest I struggled in parts because the space between releases is making it a bit difficult to remember everything that has already gone on. That said a few villains finally get their just desserts in this one, and Bram finally gets his girl.

She was everything pure, everything his hands were too dirty to touch.

I won’t lie I get a bit of an uncomfortable cringe on my face when I read a romance where one or both of the characters have previously been involved with their current lovers sibling(s) on the same basis in the past. Bram on this occasion has boffed both of the Sondors sisters, starting with in-your-face professional Cheerleader LeAnn, before deciding her more homely sister Jaelyn is the one he actually wants.

"I’m not a good guy…"

If you have read the previous books in the series you will know that there is so much going on with multiple POV's telling the story, and because of that the whole sleeping with sisters pretty much one after the other wasn’t given much gravitas or page time to be honest which in equal parts I was glad and frustrated with. LeAnn was a tad miffed to begin with and then it all kicked off with the bad guys, and she suddenly changed character completely and decided to stop being all about herself and become more ‘family’ orientated.

"You don’t scare me… that’s the problem. You make me want to throw a gauntlet down just to make sure you know how much I refuse to be scared by you."

Didn’t really ring true to me if I am honest, I also thought the whole handling of the withholding Bram’s Letters to JaeLyn while he was overseas, was left to slide. Me personally, sister or not I would have knocked her out for doing such a thing. I also would have liked the author to have included some of the letter into the story, it would have helped deepen a somewhat weak connection between our H/h.

"I came back for you."

What I really liked was getting to see all of the previous couples and how their relationships have progressed since the beginning of the series, I have a huge soft spot for the Hale brothers so seeing them happy and settled made up for what I felt was a luke-warm main couple in this installment of the series.

"You don’t know me… Not really."

That said this was still an enjoyable read. I do believe this series is on its last legs though, presidential hopeful Carl Davis is very much due his just desserts now, and I hope that the author doesn’t drag it out over more than a couple more books. As previously mentioned the space between releases means that the bigger picture in the story arc has been playing out since the first book which was released back in March 2016, and some of those earlier bits of information are becoming a little ‘foggy’ in the memory banks now. The fifth book, Close to the Edge which gives us Dare Servant’s story is due for release in February 2017 and I will be interested to see which direction the author takes the plot next.

Take to the Limit was my first read by Dawn, and I really enjoyed it. There was a lot to love about the story, but Dawn's writing style was amazing. She writes in a way that sucks you and keeps you captivated all the way through. I definitely will be reading.ore of her work.

Take to the Limit brings a story of two people who fell for each other in a less than ideal situation and even though the odds are against them they want to make it work. I laughed, I got emotional, and I read through this book as fast as I could because the characters seemed real and I needed to know what was on the next page. Overall a great read and I can't with for more.

What will keep you going? Bram is about to be deployed overseas and all he wants to do is see his girl LeAnn but things haven't turned out so well. She is with someone else and her sister Jaelyn is the one that has gotten him interested. He knows better than this but just one kiss won't hurt will it? He has to leave her now and she knows that she could never ever have Bram anyways.
The time that Bram is away he writes to her but he never gets a reply so on his leave he goes to see her but he has no idea why she is so different towards him. Little does he knows that someone wants to have what he wants and this person will take it no matter Bram does to stop it.
Jaelyn is taken and her life becomes a nightmare as she knows that whatever dreams she had of being with Bram are all gone as this madman is about to make her his slave and there is nothing is can do to stop it.
Bram calls his friends and they come to help as they have all been there and they will do whatever they can to stop the madman from destroying Bram and his life. Unfortunately old enemies are back and they will stop at nothing to kill the team. So how do they find Jaelyn, kill the threat and try on move on forward? Can Bram find her before it is too late and will she ever be the same again after what has happened to her?
A great read full of intense feelings, laughter, friendship and love. Another good book in the series. I was lucky enough to receive a copy in exchange for an honest review via netgalley & the publishing house.

Overall rating 3.5, Story was very enjoyable but I thought it jumped around a bit too much. Took me a while to keep all the players in the story straight. Bram Magnus is all alpha and a member of the elite Shadow Ops task force. He quickly realizes he asked out the wrong sister when he sees Leah's betrayal right before his eyes. That's ok. He'd realized Jaelyn is the one for him but since he's shipping out soon he doesn't let anything develop. Now he's back and determined to get the girl. Too bad trouble followed him and that trouble will put Jaelyn in danger.

An entertaining romantic suspense that is definitely worth the read. I recommend it.

This was an enjoyable read for a romantic suspense with a bit of taboo. The fact that Bram was dating one sister but really wanted the other is the reason I wanted to read this. It really wasn't a big issue in the book as I was expecting. Bram and LeAnn were never really serious and he catches her cheating on him the night before he deploys to Afghanistan which ended their relationship. LeAnn does cause a bit of drama in the beginning between Bram and Jaelyn, but she has a change of heart and attitude when Jaelyn is kidnapped by a psycho Bram worked with in Afghanistan. There is more action than there is romance, but that's not unusual in a suspense novel. It looks like each book focuses on one couple while continuing with an overall plot throughout the series. No cliffhanger but a happily for now ending.

Take to the Limit is an intense romantic suspense with lots of alpha men and a few alpha women too. I really enjoyed the story but almost got whiplash with the changing points of view. Still, an enjoyable escape and exciting read.

What a ride and we were taken to the limit. Dawn Ryder packs a lot of action into her romance adventures.

We resume our Shadow-Ops story with skumbag Ricky Sullivan making the most of his abandonment by Tyler Martin in a Mexican jail hell hole. He finds a way to make a deal to get out. Nothing is below him to get what he wants...a life of ease back home in Ireland. Vengeance drives him to bring down the team and Tyler Martin, although he'll get as much money out of Tyler and Vice-President Carl Davis while doing it. He hooks up with a sick-o Gideon, who was a civilian Communications Specialist in Bram Magnus' unit in Afghanistan. Gideon has fixated on Bram's women he left back at home. Bram who helped out the team in an earlier book, hooked up with the superficial and selfish elder sister LeAnn. When she cheats on him his last day in the states he gives into his draw to LeAnn's younger sister Jaelyn. They've been dancing around their attraction since Bram hooked up with LeAnn. Gideon finds the sister's photo in Bram's pocket in Afghanistan and digs them up when he's back state side.

This is a twisted tale of cleaning up loose ends, covering dirty tracks, vengeance and intelligence. There are sociopaths, unbalanced sick-oes, highly trained agents and testing people to discover how far they'll go for ones they love. I enjoyed the journey as all sorts of individuals faced what was really important in their lives from the hero and heroine as well as those around them.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and Dawn Ryder for the opportunity to ARC read this story for a review.

Bram, kickass spec-ops Soldier has fought his feelings for the little sister of his girlfriend for a long time. But when their relationship ends over her ONS, he realises he may just lose his chance with Jaelyn too.

But after a blazing hot goodbye kiss, he realises Jaelyn feels the same but the world seems to be against them. Can they fight against heavy odds and win their chance at happiness? How can they fight combined forces, determined to keep them apart?

Good plot, steamy romance and a liberal dose of the funnies. A great formula for a great book!

This is the fourth book in the series and really this one I felt was a little better than the last one that I read. Bram Magnus is being deployed again and before he goes he arrives at his girlfriend’s house seeing her kissing another guy. Her younger sister says I don’t know what you expected and before he walks away they end up kissing twice. The kisses knock the socks off and Jaelyn she now knows he is the man for her. While he gone all of the letters he writes to her are stolen by her sister so when he comes back they are off just a little. While he was gone also something else was stolen from him and that was a picture of the two sisters. I still don’t know how he never figured out it was gone. Anyway things start happening to the family and it is throwing up red flags to Bram to the point where he is having to prove his love for Jaelyn. That is until she is kidnapped. Here her part of the story the author makes her strong and she makes her defend herself. When she is rescued by the special ops team, the whole family has two move. For Bram he feels it is his fault but Jaelyn says B.S. don’t she knows what she is getting into. There at the compound you meet all of the characters from the other books their wife’s and their children and how it works for everyone. Also they come up with a plan to take out there nemesis Tyler. You also find out about Jaclyn's grandfather, and his story was good and kept the whole story going. With all of the characters it really added to this story but the main character of Jaelyn and her strength and seeing how strong she became after each trial. This is a very good story.

First, I have to begin with I've not read the other books in the series. It wasn't an issue really as other than probably giving away which paired men from previous books end up with which woman didn't appear to create storyline problems.
Now, I've read a lot of Black ops type books, alpha males, rescuing the girl, you know what I'm talking about. This book was all over the place, I'm not sure if it was a formatting issue since I received an ARC, bit it jumped from scene to scene with no discernable pattern, no paragraph breaks and it made it really hard to stay engaged. As far as storyline, it moved along quickly with some really improbable side characters, if you're Black ops you should see crazy a mile away. And really, they aren't going to see the danger coming at them? Overall the characters where a little one dimensional, you never really got a feel for them or had an pull to want things to work out. But that's just my opinion.

Okay, I really like this series. This book, while not my favorite in the series, is very important. There are lots of beginnings and endings in this book that are pivotal to the next books coming out.

This is Bram and Jaelyn's story and I LOVE her! Don't get me wrong I like Bram but she is badass. Her grandfather is too.

We learn a lot in this book, where people come from, where their loyalties lie and what kind of role each of them plays. I cannot wait to read what's coming next!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is Book 4 in the "Unbroken Heroes" Series and a very entertaining read.

I couldn't put it down. This is a steamy and suspenseful read and Bram and Jaelyn are two great characters.

The chemistry between them is stronger than their need to deny it. There is danger, suspense, hot sex and a great romance. What else can I ask?
