Initially, I didn't know how I was going to feel about this book because of the age difference between Mac and Hunter but holy hotness, I couldn't put it down!
I actually like taboo stories, so I knew this wouldn't bother me that much. I look more to how the characters are and how the romance makes me feel rather than focusing on ages. I'll tell you what, this romance defiantly made me feel!
A Fighting Chance was tension filled, angst filled, and had so much emotion that it was really hard to put down! I'm so happy I stuck with it until the end. I really enjoyed Annie Stone's writing.
I jumped into this novel not knowing what to expect and boy did it take me for a ride. The heroine Mackenzie is 25 and is dating/living together with Carter who is 43. His two older sons come to visit and decide to stay and the whole dynamic of the house and Mackenzie and Carter's relationship change when he starts to travel a lot for work and leaves Mackenzie home with his sons. At first the boys make it clear that the don't like of want Mackenzie around. She wins them over and the reader finds out Hunter who is 17 is attracted to Mackenzie. Mackenzie has had a horrible past and shares this with the boys, and begins to question her relationship. Not a huge fan of books that do not end with a resolution and just continue on into the next novel. But I liked this novel enough I will be reading the next to see what happens next. I look forward to seeing how this author brings it all together.
