I really liked this story. It was a great romance. I also enjoyed the suspense. I can't wait to read about the brothers.

Wow!! That was a crazy awesome story. I couldn't put it down. I was pulled in from the first chapter til the end.
This was so much more than what I was expecting. It had a little bit of everything, some romance, suspense, drama, and some sexy scenes.
I would totally recommend this to all my book friends to read. You should definitely give this author a chance. You will be surprised.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
I really don't know how I feel about this one. It was a mashup of every romance trope done over the past few years, it was well written and it had so much potential. Things happen in the very beginning, and at the end which made for great reading it was everything in between that annoyed me. I got whiplash from Avery every other page she's falling in bed with him or thinking about him only to think I can't be with him, she cries over everything and then thinks how she's been holding back her tears. He indicates he's into dominance with a blindfold and some ice cubes? This was just hard to take seriously when there was always something cliche thrown in every few pages (family scandal, secret baby, prison, lost love, sick child, wrongfully convicted, drugged, kidnapping, serial killer/ rapist, wealthy, penthouse, maid, pilot, helicopter, and stripper pole dance classes).
A simple summer away to a family friend's beach house turns into a reunion with the one man Avery hoped she would never see again, Stone, her first love. Hatred for each other turn into lust, but when Stone finds out about the daughter he never knew he had it seems as though they would never get their happily ever after. This story had great characters, excellent twists and turns and so much emotion I could not put it down. This was one of the best true to life stories I have read in a while. I highly recommend this book.
Second chance or third chance of reunited love/lust, lies, secrets, blackmail, cover ups.... 5 year old with epilepsy broken trusts, billionaire convict and so much more.
Stone was caught with his pants open with Avery's mom in a barn, a night after being with Avery. That event spiraled everything that will back happening, everyone will be affected. Avery and her family moved from the only home she ever knew and away from Stone's memory but from Dovie, Stones' grandma, and the only woman Avery loved as her own grandmother. But memories, pictures and lies followed her and her family to their new home and Avery left for college but she wasn't alone. She carried a piece of Stone with her and she is 18 and scared. She's by herself with the help of her BFF Lindsay, and eventually her parent's. Avery will keep her heart for only her daughter know and will never forgive Stone and the mess he caused.

Woah.... can you say drama or can you say drama?!? This made my head spin! I couldn't put this down and just had to keep reading to see what was going to happen,
I can't say too much or it will ruin the story. The storyline keeps you reading lots of twist and turns. We have affairs, blackmail, scandal, love, mental health issues, kidnapping, serial killers, jail time, family issues, and lots of HOT sex! Steamy sex! Yes all f this is one book!
Loved Stone he got on my nerves with his wishy washy behavior. Avery was on tough cookie, but her choices bit her in the butt, she should be very grateful that people are forgiving.
Great read, I would like to check out the next installment!
Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley!
This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama. I liked the story as well as the chemistry between the characters. The story will drew me in and had me hooked from beginning to end. I really liked it.
CHASING WICKED, THE MITCHELL BROTHERS,- WICKED SERIES BOOK 1, KATHYRN L. JAMES
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: Romance, erotica
Well, a good start to a new series if you like a hot and steamy read. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it.
For me I felt the story was a little weak, a wonderful story-line but in practice I felt Stone and Avery had little in common after all those years, and needed to focus a bit more on their lives rather than the hot sex.
Still, its erotica as well as romance, and for many readers heat and sensuality is what they want. Its what I love too but I need to feel the story, the characters are real.
I felt for Avery, what an awful thing to happen and understood her actions.
Stone, when he found out what happened after, is back in her life and they've both had a huge life change to take in. Not the best time then to leap into sex...but that doesn't stop them.
I did feel she was a bit of a doormat for Stone, letting him dictate terms, when she knew that kind of relationship wasn't for her and would break her eventually. As she keeps saying, she's got Savannah to think of.
Stone had been through a lot too, and I wondered how he'd ended up owning all those hotels, 54, given what had happened to him in the intervening 6 years.
That's a heck of a business to grow, when its not the family one he was born into. Even if they funded it initially, it takes time to build sucess like that.
He was so adamant about a sex only relationship, a friends with benefits was all he could offer and then - well, I found his about turn very hard to take. That quick, after all that stone walling (oops, unintended pun there..) earlier, all those proclamations about what he couldn't do?
There's some drama at the end and maybe that kind of fright would have felt right for me to change his mind, but it wasn't that which did it.
Some of the story lines felt a little unfinished to me, there was a good ending, but it wasn't really clear about reasons and the how and why's of what happened. Maybe that doesn't bother others but it left me thinking "how did that, why did he/she, what about...?"
Stars: Three, a hot, sensual and steamy read if you want just that but for me the story lines felt a little thin.

4.5 Stars Chasing Wicked was a great start to the Wicked series. Secrets, lies, twists and turns this second chance book has many angles and ways that sucked me in. What a refreshingly different hot sexy twist of a story I just loved it and look forward to reading more by this author
Stone Mitchell was everything she wanted. One moment crushed her hopes and dreams forever tainting her memories of all they were. Avery had moved on or at least she thought she had until one night her past finally catches up with her. She finally seeks justice for six long years of suffering and not knowing how her life ultimately led to,where she ended up. Stone is desperate to rekindle everything he has missed and move forward. Their chemistry is explosive and cannot be contained. No matter how many years have passed it as if time has held still. Kathryn James held my attention from the very first page until the end. Absolutely loved Stone and Avery!
