Harley's Little Black Book is a series of stories told primarily in the format of Harley's diary and follow her adventures with a myriad of superheroes. In the first issue, Harley happens to end up in England where a plot is unfolding against Wonder Woman. Harley is apparently a big fan of Wonder Woman and decides to go undercover with the assistance of the London Legion of Superheroes. In the second, Harley purchases an artifact that leads to a blowout with The Green Lantern. In the third story, Zatanna (one superhero I've never read before), Harley, and the London Legion deal with a haunted Coney Island attraction. In the fourth story, Harley time travels to fight Nazis with the DC Bombshells (oh and Zatanna is there too). The fifth story explains how she ended up time traveling while she helps Superman fight off aliens. And in the sixth and final story, Harley uses the second travel orb from Superman and ends up on a spaceship and encounters Lobo.

I found this entire book incredibly cheesy and did not bond with any of the characters. They were crass for the sake of being crass and their jokes weren't funny. It makes me sad when there is so much wonderful Harley content out there, as she ventures from being "Joker's Girlfriend" into something of her own. These comics were more focused on making Harley hot than on realistic dialogue and entertaining plots and characters.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated in any other fashion for the review and the opinions reflected below are entirely my own. Special thanks to the publisher and author for providing the copy.

I love Harley and I was so excited about this book, but unfortunately this just wasn't for me. I felt there was too much going on, and it was all a bit random - even for a collection revolved around Harley. Apart from that the ideas and concepts were fun, but I just couldn't find myself interested enough to be able to finish the book.

So the old 'Hey the character is a breakout, let's throw them in as many books per month we can get away with' is very much a marvel move, DC has never been a stranger to the strategy either.

This book is really fun, and the writers and artists across this trade lean on the meta injokes to not just have a crossover series but a cross-genre series. Each story shout outs to a particular style and era of comics, the highlight is Silver Age Superman in a title fight against aliens.

Verdict: Get it.

Harley Quinn can either be great or downright cheesy. And this collection of Harley Quinn team-ups was the worst. It's like have an extra huge helping of cheesiness. And while I usually love team-ups this was the pits.....like I said the horrible punchlines made this a very bad read.

Harley's Little Black Book are random adventures Harley goes on with working alongside other DC heroes. From Superman to Zatanna (my favorite of course) Harley's out there to cause (and stop) chaos. For those looking for something a little different, or just a collection of one offs, then you should check out this book.

Harley's Little Black book is a collection of comic adventures with some of DC's most famous figures. While she's spent a fair bit of time with Powergirl and Poison Ivy in past comics, Harley branches out to see the worlds of Wonder Woman, the DC Bombshells, Green Lanten, Superman, and even Lobo.

Put together by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, the book is quick on the Harley brand of humor, some of it a bit off color. This is definitely not a comic book to hand off to your twelve year-old who idolizes the character. This is something your sixteen year-old sneaks to read when you're not looking. The Bombshell Adventures were very interesting, but it was the Lobo portion that really stuck out. It was more like a rock and roll light show from the 1980's than the rest of the comic.

Harley's Little Black Book collects the first 6 issues of the spin off series. It is available now from DC.

Most people keep phone numbers in their little black book. Harley keeps memories. In this little black book, Harley recounts the time she got smuggled over to England to help Wonder Woman and meet the London Legion of Not-So-Super Heroes. That adventures is followed Harley and Green Lantern fighting over a Lantern Ring she won on Webay. The Legion of Not-So Super Heroes comes for a visit when Harley's Coney Island HQ is invaded by ghosties and Zatanna. After Harley got hold of some of Superman's super balls, she managed to visit an alternate timeline and beat up Nazis in the company of Commander Waller, Batwoman and other Bombshells. When aliens come calling threatening to destroy the Earth, Harley and Superman end up in a boxing ring. Do read and find out who one that round! The final adventure has Harley visiting outer space via another of Supe's balls and making out with Lobo. In all, a very interesting collection of adventures starring the irrepressible Harley Quinn!

Six double-length issues of team-ups which are ridiculous even by the standards of Harley's current solo series, and none the worse for that. Conner & Palmiotti script, as on the main book, while the art teams change by issue. Some of the results work better than others: Neal Adams revisiting the Superman vs Ali fight as Superman vs Harley is great fun; Simon Bisley does what Simon Bisley does; and Joseph Michael Linsner's stilted style continues to make me think he picked up the wrong lessons from art nouveau, at least as far as sequential storytelling goes. The first three issues make some vague attempt at a subplot running through the series, featuring a group of low-rent UK superheroes, but having realised it's the least fun bit of the enterprise this is then ditched in favour of a far preferable running gag about Superman's balls. The important thing is that Harley remains suitably daft, righteous, horny and weirdly loveable throughout, whether she's putting new twists in Green Lantern mythology for the sake of colour co-ordination, or reacting exactly as you'd expect to meeting herself when she ends up in the Bombshells alternate universe.

HARLEY'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK collects a six issue miniseries, with all stories written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti but including artwork by various artists, and including characters like Zatanna, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, the DC Bombshells, and Lobo. Each story references characters or events from one of the others. The first few vignettes include a wacky group known as the London Legion of Superheroes. This group seems like the "B-list" of superheroes but they're a nice way to tie these stories together. Green Lantern's ring and Superman's magic balls are other things that make a transition from one story to the next. Even though the artwork differs, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti keep Harley sounding like herself and consistent throughout each tale in this collection.

Things get a little personal in the England-based Wonder Woman story because readers get a glimpse into Harley's childhood, and the inspiration she took from Wonder Woman. This tale has plenty of slapstick, as well as Bond-style villains and weaponry. Harley's efforts to protect, and work with, her Amazon idol make for a lot of laughs. Wonder Woman lets her hair down a little and Harley gains a new, yet reluctant, gal pal.

My favorite story in HARLEY'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK is the Zatanna one. I like the chemistry between Zatanna and Harley. Zatanna's presence as a magician seems a natural fit for Harley's environment, and I hope for more team-ups in the future. In this story, Harley does what she does best -- help the helpless, look cute, and manhandle and generally put megalomaniacal evildoing jerks in their place. The ghost element is fun and the artwork by Joseph Michael Linsner complements the carnival and historical settings.

The Harley story featuring Superman is great for two reasons. For comic fans, it's cool to have a Harley story drawn by the legendary Neal Adams. The other reason this adventure is so much fun is that it's especially amusing to see Harley get a glimpse of the intergalactic twerps who try to jerk Superman around on a regular basis. It was surprising to see just how well Superman and Harley worked together. In past stories in which Batman and Harley crossed paths, you can't help but get the impression that Batman looks down on Harley and can't get past her former association with the Joker. With Superman, there is a completely different vibe, and they make an entertaining odd couple.

Harley's encounter with Green Lantern is action-packed. Even when under the influence of an evil ring, Harley is still Harley. Typical for the clown crusader, she is able to cop a feel of Green Lantern while stopping the world from certain doom. The costumes in the DC Bombshells vignette are fab, but the highlight for me is the Nazi/Dracula/Joker dream sequence. The final story in this collection, featuring the bounty hunter Lobo, is a treat because their larger-than-life personalities mesh beautifully together. Harley proves she's crazy enough and tough enough to handle a wildcard like Lobo, and give as good as she gets. The artwork may be a little jarring for regular Harley Quinn readers, but what comes out of her mouth is typical Harley goodness courtesy of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. Alien pirates prove to be no match for Harley Quinn.

'Harley's Little Black Book' by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti was going to be a bit of a challenge for me since I'm not the biggest Harley Quinn fan around. Since it was a team up book, I thought I'd give it a shot.

This reprint #1-6 in the series and is a pretty big 256 pages. Harley meets and attempts to "help" Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Zatanna, the DC Bombshells, Superman and Lobo. There is a bit of time and space travel tomfoolery to get her mixed up with some of these characters. There are also multiple locations like London, Germany, space and Coney Island. She makes and meets friends along the way and generally makes a lot of inuendo jokes. This book is really not for kids.

It was all pretty silly, as I expected, and that's fine, but at so many pages, I just got fatigued. It was all so much. I liked the Superman story the best. Maybe because Neal Adams did the art. The rest of it might be better taken in smaller doses rather than reading it in one straight shot.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

This book is all about Harley Quinn teaming up with various superheroes and an anti-hero bounty hunter. It felt like seeing her diary of the events come to life. Her fiasco with Green Lantern starts with ebay and almost ends in
disaster. Thanks to a certain object. I loved Harley Quinn and Hal Jordan's interactions. It first reminded me of having an annoying and troubling little sister, but then Harley's flirting messed that up for me.
Harley Quinn went ghostbusting with Zatanna. The ghosts they are helping were kind of boring, but their backstory is worth reading.
Harley travels to London to save and assist  Wonder Woman. It was crazy even for her to travel overseas in a barrel.
There she befriends the Legion of Superheroes.
I gotta say time traveling  storylines never get old. Harley meets herself and the bombshells during the war. I felt really empowered seeing these women fight for their cause.
Harley actually got to fight Superman and a scrubb alien for the fate of the world. It was like watching a pay per view match!
Lastly, my favorite team-up with Lobo the bounty hunter. His no nonsense attitude and her nonsense one is so entertaining. You could cut their sexual tension with a knife.

Amusing, peculiar and odd. Entering her mind (her thoughts) is a little like letting someone else steer, you never know where you'll end up.

I love Harley Quinn as a character, so I happily agreed to review this novel. It definitely wasn't as great as I hoped, or as good as Harley as a character in Suicide , but it still had some strengths.
So in this book, Harley basically just collects together a load of tales from her adventures with various characters. It contains a hell of a lot of innuendoes and sex jokes, and a makeout scene with Lobo that I really was not interested in seeing.
I did feel like Harley was just made out to be a bit of a sex-crazed idiot at times, when there's actually a lot more of her character to be shown. There was a flashback to her childhood experience of being bullied, which I thought was fantastic.
There was still the loveable, crazy character being written, and the whole stories/general writing had that kind of fun tone that I love about Harley. Again, it was maybe too light and fun, but it was a nice little read.
Thank you to the author/publisher for giving me a review copy of this book

I maybe wouldn't have liked this half as much if it was any other character, but I just love Harley Quinn. It wasn't her strongest appearance, though, despite it being her own book. I'm going to give it 3 stars out of 5. 🌟🌟🌟

I absolutely love Harley Quinn she is my soulmate in a way. She may be psychotic and crazy to the bone but she has come into her own in this series . She takes us on an adventure Harley style . Each story in this book Harley meets and teams up with a different super hero,  The funniest part is when Harley steals Wonder Woman's suit and decides to wear it . Each story is actioned packed and you will love each one of them.
The graphics are awesome and the story lines are so well written  . I am glad that Harley story line is continuing . I feel like Harley is an unsung hero or anti hero in her case. The Harley story line I can see going on and her doing good things and getting into trouble along the way . So if you like HARLEY QUINN and you love super heroes in general check out the series . I promise you that they will bring Harley into your life and have some mischief

I enjoyed this! I'm new to these comics, so my critical skills may not be as honed as others with comics, but I found pleasure in Harley's humor, the prolific ideas and originality of the content, and the blatant yet easy to swallow feminism.

I've read another by Palmer and I find her writing highly skilled.

I recommend this. It will make you smile and laugh, and will brighten your eyes. If you like women, it may inspire you to look up beautiful ladies in army pants and a bikini top. They show a sexy side of Harley, even introduce a passionate encounter with a guy named Lobo.

Great stuff! (less)

When you think about it, a tremendous amount of effort goes into this - and it's pretty much all crap. There are pastiches of DC comics of old, there's an unappealing Tank Girl in Space Harley, there's Zatanna falling into a pool of water and proving our dreams of her top going see-through wrong... Actually scrub that, because the smut levels here, mostly of the 'ooh, lesbians - hur hur' kind are off the scale. It is utterly messy, childish, puerile - and while so many reviewers would then snap back and say that that means it's brilliant, here I can't. It's just childish, poorly scripted, ill-thought-through dross. At least the "British" characters, complete with Rebel Wilson in blackface JUST BECAUSE, don't last to the end - but it's a test on the reader to outlast them.

I’m admittedly a Harley fan. I know her mental health isn’t perfect and she makes ethically questionable choices (and I’m being nice with both of those descriptions) but I love that she embraces who she is with no apologies. She may not be one of the best role models but she’s a strong woman who stands up for herself and others albeit in a tendency that could be morally and legally questionable – but at least she does it!

In this desperate to be politically correct yet still offending everyone world I enjoy Harley because she is completely NOT politically correct, NOT even trying hard to be, NOT caring who she offends and I LOVE IT. It’s my escape from the social justice warriors, feminist warriors, and every other warrior currently gathering in the US like a political tornado cause you just don’t see that same level of epic infighting about EVERYTHING anywhere else on the planet. Harley lets us just breathe for a bit.

These stories are all great ones to have and read many times over. I wish they would make a series on Netflix or something based on these stories. You have to admire her spunk and devil may care attitude, or complete lack of respect depending on your POV, when it comes to how she interacts with the ‘good’ guys like Wonder Woman. You can’t take anything away from Wonder Woman, my daughters love her, but there also has to be a place in this world for Harley because not everyone can be a WW – we need the opposite too just to keep things interesting. Her messing around with the lantern rings had me shaking my head and laughing – cause you know, only Harley. Harley trying to be good in her own way but never quite pulling it off.

Along with some well told stories thankfully the artwork measures up. You get an insurgence of color, detail, activity, and emotion swirling together to bring the battles to life as if these were playing out before you and Harley becomes even more outrageous and impressive than she already was designed to be.

This series was just another win in my Why I love Harley column.

Thank you to the publisher and net galley for giving me the chance to read and review Harley's Little Black Book.

This is a fun small run of Harley Quinn stories where she gets the opportunity to fight alongside some of her favorite Heroes. From Wonder Woman to Lobo. I thought it was a lot of fun! The art was great too.

It does read more like a collection of one shots, so keep that in mind before you pick it up. I wouldn't call it a must read, but it's a fun little book.

Would recommend to Harley Quinn fans!

There is a lot going on here. A lot. It's kind of hard to keep up with everything.

Dare I say too much? Yes, I strongly feel that there are too many characters in here, too many very big characters. As single entities, each volume works, but to combine them all into one collection, I don't think this is an enjoyable experience.

There's six separate stories here, with the recurring appearance of the London Legion of Superheroes. Honestly, I could've just read a few volumes featuring them and been very happy.

Well, them and Wonder Woman, obvi.

The first story features she of the golden lasso, and it's probably my favorite. It's actually very simple, Harley is a major WW fangirl, and she...you know. Does what any fan would do. Drugs Wonder Woman, takes her clothes, and fights bad guys.

It's really quite cute, you should read it.

The stories get progressively more complicated and difficult to follow from here. Next up we have Green Lantern, a superhero who I know literally nothing about. He's very L7, a little too DC comic white bread for me. But I did enjoy seeing what his super powers are. I think? How accurate are these, anyway?

I have no idea who Zatanna Zatarra is, though I have a vague idea based on googling. I literally have no clue who the last character is, I didn't see anything really googleable there. I'm sure someone can let me know in the comments, I just kept thinking he looked like someone from WWE.

Is Superman always so jolly and happy-go-lucky? Is that why the internet is full of drawings of him messing with Batman? I like this. I would read Superman if this was a promise of more things to come.

All the artwork is different for each chapter, a recurring theme in HQ books. The best art, in my humble opinion, is the one used for the Bombshell chapter. I love all those ladies, and this is set in Nazi Germany, with entirely ridiculous time travel phlebotinum and bathroom jokes that never appeal to me, ever.

We also got Nazi Joker, and HQ taking down Hitler as only she can.

Like I said, these stories are great on their own! Just...not all together. Too much. Way too much.
