Loved it, hot and sexy! I couldn't put it down definitely a must read
Read a the first couple of chapters but couldn't get into the book. Never got into character development. Opening with hot sex, which wasn't called for to start a book. What can I say... nothing
This book kept me in suspense throughout as the chapters weave in and out of secrets. Steamy scenes are also in abundance as you can imagine, after Kate found out her husband was still alive, the reunion was sizzling, to say the least.
Although the couple was portrayed as very sexually compatible, I thought that the plot could have been developed a bit further instead of concentrating more on their reunion. This story was evenly-paced until the point where secrets had to be revealed. I understand they love each other to death and would do anything to protect one another however Price's stubbornness to let Kate know the big picture slowed the pace down at times. Love, and lovemaking, do not solve all problems unfortunately.
Good book, kept my interest and I couldn't but down i had to know what was gonna happen next.
Loved the book. Keep up the good work Helen Hardt and Meredith Wild
Kate's world fell apart when she learned her soul mate had died in a tragic accident. He was her every breath, thought, and made her heart beat with purpose. When she learns he died, she fails to exist. Food, working, and life in general fail to give her the purpose she once had with Price. After agreeing to an tropical island getaway with her sister in law she finds the one person who made life worth living. Why did Price disappear and can she ever forgive him for his absence? Absolutely loved it!
I absolutely loved this book! I love Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt by themselves, but to read something that they wrote TOGTHER was awesome! I'm excited to see what other romance readers think of this book, I hope they love it as much as I did!
This was a sexy, mystery love story. There were alot of sex scenes, which were hot as hell. I enjoyed this book a lot and like the mystery/love story. Can't wait to read more from this series!
This book had a good plot, but I was not a fan of Prince and what I felt like was a manipulative tactics.
First - again a big thank you to the folks at NetGalley for getting me the ARC of this story. It's another interesting installment into what's not a series - but a collection of stories that are actually not at all related.
What we have - as the summary says is a story of couple who had it all, the perfect life together and then it was ripped apart. Price is killed in a plane crash and Kate doesn't really know how to get her life back together. She works sometimes but really lives her life in a fog. It's on this island that things change.
Price isn't dead. I mean, we should have known that was going to be the case - but oh well. Anyhow - Price has been living a year in hiding because he had uncovered some information about a company that was doing some shady business, and that company didn't want him to let their information go public.
Throughout this story we have a few things going on. One is the reconnecting of this couple - they have so much love and passion for each other that they want to fight against everything to make it work - even when it doesn't seem realistic that they will end up happy. Then there's the idea that there's so much more going on that Price isn't telling Kate since he doesn't quite ever give her the answers that she wants - letting us learn the hard way that life is never going to be safe.
Then there are several characters that are mentioned throughout the story that seem like they are nothing to talk about - but you know that authors often don't write in characters unless there's a twist or something significant. Which is exactly what happens here.
The folks we love are forced to go on the run - Kate & Price, Otis, and even Michelle, and we don't know who's going to be discovered first and who will remain safe. There's so much anxiety when there are kidnappings and threats on lives - and honestly all you want is for the couple to have their happily ever after - and you just don't know if it's possible. So on that note - you should def try to check this out
Wow. Price is one complicated sexy man. Kate has been thrown into a situation that she has no control over. Loved all the twists in this story. What an amazing strong connection. To find that one in a life time love you can't live with out. Could not wait to see where the story would go. A must read. Great all consuming love story.
This review contains spoilers. Read at your own risk!
I received an ARC of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was extremely excited to read this book after seeing the first teaser for it, but I must admit, it's not what I was expecting. When I learned it was about a grieving widow who took a vacation only to find her husband alive and well, living a reclusive life on a remote island, I assumed this book would be more suspenseful. In the end, he didn't fake his death to leave her; he wanted her to find him, so he asked his sister to set up a mini-vacation, giving him the opportunity to offer his wife a once-in-a-lifetime fantasy: abandon her life and run away with him, or forget that he is alive. Price, Kate's not-really-dead husband, offers an explanation as to why he was forced to fake his death, but I won't give away any more spoilers than I've already given.
With that being said, I'm a huge fan of both Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt. This isn't my first book of theirs, and it won't be my last. In fact, they've both made their way onto my auto-buy list (meaning, I will buy/read anything they write), but this one was slightly more disappointing than their previous books. The Misadventure Series was marketed as "high steam, low plot," so I wasn't surprised that the characters made it to the bedroom multiple times in each chapter. In fact, that didn't bother me at all. Instead, it was the plot that fell flat for me. This was such an awesome concept, and I was so excited to read about it; however, it wasn't quite the suspense-filled plot I was hoping for. I was expecting more of a FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL-type plot, where the husband faked his own death to get away from his wife (for whatever reason) and the wife found love in another person. Because of this, the plot felt slow to me, and I found myself reading at a much slower pace than what's normal for me.
With that being said, it was a good, steamy read (4/4.5 of 5 stars), and I highly recommend it if you enjoy erotic romances!

it was amazing
I voluntarily received an ARC from Net Galley for a honest review!
I really enjoyed this book. It was very suspenseful and romantic(Hot Sex).
Price and Kate Lewis were a happy married couple who loved one another very much. Unfortunately a tragic accident happen when Price was traveling for work his plane wet down.
Every since that tragic day losing Price was unbearable for Kate. She was having a difficult time moving on. A year later her sister in law Michelle invites her to a vacation trip on some secluded island for 3 weeks. Upon arriving she finds someone walking up to her on the beach. That person looks like her husband Price.
Knowing that her husband is alive. Will they be able to get back what they once had or will they run into major road blocks.
What can I say. This "Misadventures of" conglomeration series has yet another great piece added. After this read, there will be no need to ask, what makes a good wife? This story confirms what we already knew. I assure you ladies, reading this will have you smiling with pride as the adventure unfolds, maybe even wondering how these ladies know you so well.
A woman's smile, her demeanor, her aura are all visible and telling of a happy life and many times a happy wife. But with death, does the love leave or only soften over time? This story unfolds in ways that will have you wondering. Meredith and Helen have taken the questions and the qualities that make a good wife and presented them in an amazing way. Prepare for the rollercoaster that is a good wife, and enjoy.
I give this a 5-star rating.
Thanks
Loved it! Meredith did not disappoint again!!! First time reading anything by Helen Hardt and now I'm a fan! Price and Kate's story kept me on my toes and there was no shortage of steamy scenes. So much goes on in this book and I don't want to spoil it but if you are looking for a sexy, hot, quick read this is an awesome book.
I am a huge fan of the authors. I fell in love with this book from page one. A great read
This is the first time I got to read this books and all I have to say is wow just wow. I have read both author's books by themselves I am a big fan and both of them together just blew me away. This book is hot and steamy and give a new name to books I read all the time. I would put this on my list for a must read.
What an amazing read that had me hooked from the beginning. Price & Kate have a love that no one can touch, they are true soulmates and when Price's plane went down Kate was completely destroyed. You can feel the emotions that the characters were going through as you read and it will completely tug on your heartstrings. Finding out the love of your life is still alive, Kate wants answers but she may not lie what she hears and the situation is far more dangerous then she could ever imagine. Great collaboration and great story that will have you hooked from page one.
I was lucky to receive an early copy of this book through netgalley. I had high hopes as both authors are two quite high profile authors. I had never read Helen's work before so I was kind of intrigued. The book however fell a bit flat for me. Simply, there was too much sex and not enough story. I loved to "idea" behind the story but it just wasn't executed well enough. The hot scenes were hot and steamy but there was just too many and I need story in amongst the sex scenes!
It was a quick read and I would read more by these authors.
The writing styles of the authors are fantastic. I do not care for the storyline at all, but I am not a fan of helpless, weak women that can't live without their man. I would not encourage my students to buy or read it due to excessive sexual content. Adults might enjoy it. The sex scenes are all steamy and exciting. Overall a decent read.
It took a lot and I wanted to get lost in the story but I couldn't. I understood the secrecy and protection but the doubt and trust in your life partner is what threw me. I truly believe a little more opening up in the beginning and a chase from the island instead of speculation would have put this over the top. It is like all they had was lust for each other and no real UMPH... Yeah the action when they returned to New York should have been all the way through the Book.
