Fast forward to present day and our heroine discovers that not only is her husband alive but on the run for his life. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Price and Kate, and the fall out when Price’s whereabouts have been discovered by the people trying to destroy his life.

MISADVENTURES OF A GOOD WIFE is a fast paced, erotically charged story of second chances. Kate lost the only man she would ever love but his ‘return from the dead’ comes with too man conditions and complications including the possibility of a life on the run. The rekindling relationship finds our couple in a constant state of arousal including the need to prove that their love have never wavered in spite of Price’s apparent betrayal. The $ex scenes are numerous, erotic and provocative. My only complaint is the use of a four-letter word that I hesitate to include in any romantic situation or story line. The premise is entertaining; the characters are colorful and determined; the romance is raw and edgy.

Such an intriguing, sexy story. It has the best opening of any book I've read. And the story keeps you engaged the whole time. I was on the edge of my seat one minute and fanning myself the next. The chemistry between Price and Kate was, wow, hot. But their never ending love in such a horrible situation was inspirational. A great collaboration between Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt.

All I can say is wow! This book had me from the first page all the way to the last with strong characters and an intense story that included suspense, spicy romance, mystery, action, adventure and so much more. I really enjoyed the passion and love between Kate and Price and wanted their story to continue when I got to the end.

This is an exciting must-read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I received a free advance copy from the publisher via net galley and this is my unbiased review.

A light and sexy read

I read and enjoyed the first book in the Misadventures series (Misadventures of a City Girl) and was looking forward to this second offering. Each book in the series stands completely alone from the other and offers a sexy tale that are perfect for a beach or bedside read.

I was looking for something light and hot when I picked up this book and for the most part that’s what I got - but it just felt a little lukewarm for me.

I liked Kate, understood her motivations, feelings and felt she was completely believable. I even could get behind the reaction when Price reappeared in her life. Who knows what anyone would do in that highly unlikely event?

The initial sex was sweet yet sexy and made for an enjoyable read. Just when I was getting a little fed up of sex and then Price keeping secrets, sex, secrets etc. the book picked up pace with a little bit of tension from the ‘big bad’ of Price’s past.

I think my main problem was that I didn’t really like Price. To my mind, there was no good reason why he couldn’t just have come home and informed the police of his problems - job done. Putting that aside, I still didn’t really like him. He had left Kate for over a year - rightly or wrongly - but when he came back he still kept her in the dark, was quite controlling of her and kept secrets including some he’d done before he was ever in trouble.

Perhaps it was due to that, that the sex became a bit samey for me. After every scene there were some sort of shenanigans and I got over it fairly quickly. There was the obligatory anal sex for these kind of stories - which is so not my thing - but it was short so I was fine to skip over it. I did feel that they were laying it on a bit thick with the whole “it’s the ultimate trust” and “the most connected two human beings could be”. You either like it or don’t - don’t oversell!

The story picked up again towards the end as things started to get sorted out. That was interesting and I liked the way the story was wrapped up. The ending was cute and I do enjoy a satisfying epilogue.

Not my favourite of the two Misadventures books I’ve read but it was still well-written and a pleasant way to pass a couple of evenings. 3 stars.

MISADVENTURES OF A GOOD WIFE is the second book in the Misadventures series presented by Waterhouse Publishing. Each is a stand-alone novel.

Instead of the usual: boy meets girl; boy woos girl; happily ever after, this begins with happily ever after … interrupted. I loved the unique twist in that the couple is contently married and passionately in lust with one another regardless of their circumstances right from the beginning. This story was HOT, HOT, HOT as the Caribbean!

The conflict isn’t within their relationship, but is more of an “us against the world” dynamic that I remember from my own youth (thankfully mine was only emotional, personal drama and not real-world). That’s just it. Fiction is supposed to be larger than life. Ms. Wild and Ms. Hardt take us to the edge of belief without taking it too far. That’s what makes this such a wonderful story.

I did think that some of the sex was gratuitous. In fact, in got to the point that I was wondering if anyone, anywhere had that kind of stamina!

I have already been given the next four in the series. So, I will be reading and reviewing soon!

I loved this book, it was so good and a page turning story. These two author are the perfect pairing, just the right amount of emotion and hits all the emotion buttons.

Misadventures of a Good Wife, who is a good wife anyway and who decides who gets this title. Well I guess everyone has their own opinion on this matter but this book was lighthearted, and good natured. It also had excellent humor just in the right places. Can't wait to read all the other books in the Misadventure series of books.

This is the second installment in this Misadventure series and involves the husband and wife duo Price and Kate Lewis. Everyone thinks Price is dead, including Kate, and a year later her sister-in-law convinces her to take a vacation and who comes walking up the beach but her dead husband, Price. Lots of sex, lots of forgiving, lots of intrigue, and lots of suspense and running from the bad guys in the end. It was a twisty story but the underlying romance and knowing that these two people are definitely meant for each other and only each other kept the story moving.

There’s no doubt that Kate and Price Lewis have a marriage that is grounded in passionate love for one another; that point is clearly made right from the start in the latest book in the Misadventures series, The Misadventures of a Good Wife, but it’s that kind of solid foundation that begged multiple questions the further I read into the Lewis’ story and because it takes quite a while to unravel the reasons and consequences for a series of complex situations and circumstances, I found myself perplexed by a certain person’s choices that categorically alter the Lewis’ marriage, upending their emotional stability as well as fracturing a bond that seemed unbreakable.

To be honest…I’m not quite sure how I feel about this story; the title is apt because Kate Lewis is everything a wife should be and her love and commitment to her husband is illustrated throughout the course of events that occur in the storyline. My issue is with Price and his reasons for doing what he does as well as the way the story is laid out after the life changing event occurs. The structure of the plot is a bit problematic for me because it doesn’t allow me to truly put the pieces together in an orderly fashion, which gives the story a disjointed feel and forces my reaction to be more of annoyance with how the events are displayed instead of what those situations mean for the characters who experience them.

I do have to say that the Lewis’ do indeed endure one hell of a misadventure and while I didn’t particularly connect with some aspects of the story, the series as a whole and the calamities to come are still of great interest to me.

This is definitely a hot and steamy read.The mystery and suspense in this story kept me on the edge of my seat. The details were revealed slowly, keeping me hungry for what will happen next.The emotional rollercoaster these two endure is breathtaking. Every page is a new adventure.

Misadventures of a Good Wife is the second book in the Misadventures series. This book is co-authored by Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt. The story is about Kate and Price a perfect couple in a perfect marriage. They have everything going for them until Price’s plane goes down and their love story ends in a blink of an eye…or so it seems. After a year, Price appears when Kate is on vacation with her sister-in-law with a story that she pulls out of him slowly over many days.

The story is loaded with hot and steamy sex scenes. I expect nothing less from two people who are madly in love with each other. Add to the romance the mystery and intrigue of what happened to Price over the year he disappears from his wife and why. What could make a man leave a luxurious life and the woman he loves without a clue?

Misadventures of a Good Wife moves forward at a fast pace. There is a lot of action both in the bed and out. What troubled me a little is how easy it is to decipher the two separate voices of these authors. It is like they assigned chapter x, y, and z to Meredith and e, f, and g to Helen. It is possible that I pick them out easily because I read so many of their books. It did throw me off because the transition isn’t that smooth.

Romantic suspense needs a seamless transition and balance between the two elements of the genre. It is more difficult for two gifted writers to meld and blend as one. Misadventures of a Good Wife is my introduction to this series. It has enough good qualities to pull me into the story and make me want to read more Misadventures as they are released. I enjoyed this book despite the hero taking too long to cough up the details of his year away. The writing is good, and the adventure is great. Misadventures of a Good Wife is an entertaining read.

Kate believed that she was living the dream. She and her husband Price had a wonderful marriage, they were in love and they have successful careers. At least until the day her husband’s plane crashes and all the people on board have perished. It’s been a year since he has been gone and her sister-in-law thinks that it is time for her move on so she arranges a trip for them. While on the beach she sees the one thing she never expected to see which is her husband alive and well.

Price thought his wife would be safer without him however seeing her again has brought back all the love he feels for her to surface but she wants answers before their reunion goes any further. Will Price reveal his secrets and will he be able to keep Kate safe?

I love these characters as everything Price does and has done is because of his love for his wife and Kate has an inner strength that is second to none. The connection and chemistry between the two is intense and the secrets and suspense make this a must read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This is the 2nd standalone book in The Misadventures Series and it is Scorchingly Hot! Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt for surely outdid themselves with this undeniably scorching, Intense, on the edge of your seat read! Price and Kate have a love that never dies even tho Price supposedly did. Keep takes a trip and while she is away on the trip she sees her dead husband of a year now. Trying to figure out the who's, what's why's and when's of everything that has taken place in the last year while Price was “dead.” Can she ever trust him enough again to move. Moving on with her life with or without him in it. This has mystery, suspense, angst, laughter, undeniable heat, passion & love. The sexy times are of the charts and you can feel the chemistry between Price and Kate. This story is a page turner from the get go & you won't want to put it down! I love they way it was written so beautiful and full of all the feelers. I would have never guessed that it was written by two different people because it flowed so smoothly. I was extremely excited & happy to find out that Helen & Meredith had joined forces to write together. I truly hope that this is not the last of them writing together! Seriously go & 1-click now and fall in love with Price & Kate like I did!

If you are looking for a hot and steamy read then this is it. Honestly, it was a little too much for me. I was actually dreading all the steaminess that was in this book. I ended up pretty much skipping over a lot of those parts of the book.

What I did like was the story line. I liked the mystery and intrigue in the story. I just wish there was a little more story to it.

Recommended for those who like a lot of steam.

Kate and Price Lewis’ perfect life was ripped apart the day his plane went down and he was presumed dead. A year later and Kate is buried by her grief but she reluctantly agrees to a girl’s trip to a secluded island in the South Pacific with her sister-in-law. On a secluded beach in paradise, she gets the shock of her life when she discovers that her beloved husband is alive and has been hiding out for the past year to protect her and his entire family. After the initial shock wears off she is overjoyed to be reunited with the love of her life but just because she’s got Price back doesn’t guarantee them a happily ever after. After learning the very real danger they still face, Kate is forced to make a decision, return home to a life without Price or leave everything behind and disappear with Price.

These Misadventure books are such fun, quick, sexy reads. This one had the added element of suspense which I really enjoyed. It’ll keep you guessing and flipping pages to find out who or what is after Price and hoping they’ll find a way out of it. I also really enjoyed seeing Kate and Price get their second chance, these two were really great together. They had an amazing connection and there was so much love between them, I loved that even with all that had happened and all that they were still in the middle of, their love never wavered. It was never a question for me as to whether or not their relationship would make it, the only question was whether they would make it out of this situation with their lives. This book was also super steamy! There was LOTS of sex, and I mean LOTS! I probably could have done with a few less scenes but it was hot and understandable considering Kate and Price had been apart for so long. Overall, I thought this was an exciting and sexy read and I look forward to what misadventures will be next!

Misadventures of a Good Wife was a quick and enjoyable read for me.

I liked the way the story started out, a husband and wife deeply in love and devoted to one another. Then, BAM! The first chapter left me gutted. I could feel the plot building and I liked where it was headed. Even after Kate and Price were reunited, I liked the bit of mystery and originality that the story brought. I wanted to know more, I wanted to know what Kate planned to do, and I couldn't wait to find out how the two of them were going to pull it off. You obviously can't run from the bad guys forever.

But where I seemed to get sidetracked revolved around the sex. I might be with the minority, but I felt there was too much sex. It was raw and gritty at times and I wondered how the two of them could get so caught up in the act instead of being worried that someone was going to catch them at any moment. Don't get me wrong, Kate and Price deserved their chance to make up for the year they were apart, but it just seemed to be a little over the edge for me.

I did enjoy the story though and found it to be refreshing from other romances that I'm used to reading.

What a great read by Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt. But then what else would we expect from two of the best in the game!

This book had such a unique storyline filled a tad bit of trepidation and a whole lot of hotness. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering and waiting. It is a story of love lost and love found. Of belief and disbelief. Of trust and mistrust. Of pain and healing.

This is the second book in the Misadventures series and what a five-star slam dunk!

Kate Lewis had the perfect marriage. She had love and happiness and could not even think about living any other way. Both Kate and Price were in such a good place. They had good careers and a great place to live. Things were good for them. Then tragedy struck and her husband, Price, never came home.

A year later, she is barely coping. The loss was too much to bear. Wanting to help, her sister-in-law convinces her to get away for a much needed vacation. The last thing she expected was to see her husband walking towards her on the beach. Now Price is set for the fight for his life and that of the woman he has always loved.

This was a fun and sexy read with a little added suspense. I loved Kate. She was strong and determined and would stand by her man no matter what. Price was brave and strong, though a bit evasive when reunited with Kate. But he wanted to protect her at all cost. He was so lost without her as well.

Kate and Price shared a strong and powerful love for each other. The intensity of it was felt in every scene they shared together. Once they were reunited, it was so much fun to see them fight for each other and what they wanted. Another great read in this series!
