This one was a DNF for me. I couldn't connect with the characters from early on. I kept getting pulled out of the book by the base plot line, the deals being struck were...well, it wasn't for me.

Well written but very predicatable and cliched. I really wanted to enjoy the book but unfortunately it felt a bit flat

This book was short thankfully. I wasn't a fan of the whole workaholic typer that Carson was, and how instant everything was with Ella. Personally, I like it when I read something and am not able to figure out everything that is going to happen before it does.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

I did not enjoy this book at all. I thought it was really badly written and the characters were all one dimensional.

This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine, Carson and Ella. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

So Carson needs cash so he takes a loan from his rival who agrees as long as Carson marries his daughter....Carson gets cold feet and says he can't because he is in love with someone else....In comes Ella Hope is pretending to be Carson's true love......but how long is she pretending? This book while far fetched was a fun read.

Skip it. The characters don't make a lot of sense, so the relationship also doesn't make sense. There isn't any real reason to pick this one up.

I was reviewing these for Heroes & Heartbreakers, which did only positive reviews. I think the premise of this series is “very messy people making bad choices” and it’s not my jam.

I found the main characters very endearing, however, the plot didn't flow that well for me. The progression of the story line felt a little too rushed for me.

I love all the Misadventures books. They are all steamy and oh so good!
They can all be read as a standalone.
I really liked this one.
Thanks NG for the Arc

Misadventures of a Backup Bride is a sweet hot and oh, so fun read! Yes, it hits all those sexy marks, with a great speedy pace and funny banter.

I love the entire concept of this Misadventures series, so I can't help but grab them when I have time for a quick read.

This is a bit of insta-love, a bit of sweet, sexy, and fun. It's a light, fun read when you don't want anything serious or deep.

Carson Frost is in a predicament and it's one he thinks only Ella can get him out of. The question is, what happens when feelings are stronger than you could have anticipated? What happens when you're forced to decide between two loves?

If you're looking to find love by hiring an actress to play your girlfriend, well, this could be the book for you!

I've loved every book I've read of the Misadventures series so far. This one did not disappoint! I always enjoy a good story of unexpected love. I can't wait to read more of these!

This book was provided to me for review from Netgalley
Romance, Contemporary, Rom-Com
This is a about a man that is promised to the daughter of one of his rival companies that has promised to finance his candy business in exchange for marrying his daughter. The main character Carson feels nothing towards
Kendra (the rival tycoons daughter) so he calls in Ella whom he met at a party months ago to act as a love interest that is meant to get him out of the marriage.
I slogged through this story. The characters for me were completely unbelievable and not relatable at all.. I found myself not caring what happened to any of them, or the motivations that they had for acting a certain way. All in all I really wanted to enjoy the story but in my opinion it dragged on for too long and it was just too unbelievable in an annoying way that I couldn't get past to enjoy the story.

This book is hilarious and I absolutely loved it. Let's just say this book involves a inheritance, fake fiance and fake Marriage. But what happens when the feelings become real? I loved every minute of this book.

Even writing about the old adage of the fake fiancé tale Shayla Blake does it masterfully. Misadventures of a Backup Bride brings struggling actress Ella Hope back into the life of handsome billionaire Carson Frost. When Frost inherited his estranged father's confectionary empire he had hoped to keep his father's legacy going, but the business was short on cash flow. And that's where his father's old business rival proposition came in. If Carson marries his rival's daughter, he'll fund Carson's business, for a slice of it of course. Now, only two weeks from closing the deal, Carson is having second thoughts. Playing the man already in love with someone else, now Carson has to manufacture a fake bride that will be willing to dump him at the altar. When Ella and Carson met months before, she had been on a date with a mate of Carson's and Carson would never have interfered then. Still, there was an instant attraction between Carson and Ella, an attraction he didn't touch until now. Using that attraction to his advantage, Carson hires Ella to play his loving fiancé, but soon they both wish they were playing for keeps... A sexy as all get out romance with a mean competitor and sweets to boot.

Carson Frost has a problem or two, a fiancee that he doesn't love and a business rival holding his late father business over his head. What's a desperate man to do? Well if you are Carson frost, you bring in an actress to play the woman that you love, a woman he's met for the shortest of moment but stuck in his head.

Ellie Hope is an actress, and this job comes with the perks of handsome Carson. However just playing interested just got that tiny bit harder when the chemistry between them erupts and nothing is for play anymore. Will this be her best acting job or will her heart lead her to a forever after love.

A fast paced read, this wasn't too bad although it was different to the other books by the author i've read, this one just missed that mark she carefully crafts. I enjoyed it as a short read outside my day.

This was one of the cutest books in the Misadventures series so far. I love the fake relationship trope. I also liked the writing style. I found it to be a super quick read. Though the partial instalove could be done without in my opinion. I really wish that they were given an honest chance at loving each other.

Carson and Ella just make me want to swoon a little. Definitely sexy, but so much more. A great read with a storyline that has you rooting for them until the very end!
