I requested this book from Netgalley but I have no idea why. I am not interested in sports. I’m guessing it was the cover.

I managed to get through this one despite myself. It was touch and go there for a bit, I’m not even going to attempt to pretend otherwise. Only my laziness to figure out what I wanted to read next kept me going. One of these days I will learn how to DNF correctly.

Chase is a rich and famous hockey star and has a reputation as being “the bad boy of hockey” because he’s a trouble maker on the ice and he likes to sleep with women. Ummm, ok. He’s young, he’s loaded and he’s beautiful. I’d say that’s pretty normal not “bad” but what do I know? He is secretly in love with his best friend Cassie but he knows he can never share his feelings because it will destroy their close friendship. Thus, all the sleeping around with the hockey “bunnies”.

After Chase scares off Cassie’s latest date (in a real jerky alpha move) she laughs it off and calls him an asshole but she is relieved. She is focused on her career and moving on up and isn’t seriously pursuing a relationship. She’d much rather hang out with Chase and his friends than some random boring guy anyway. And when your best friend is a hockey god normal guys don’t stand a chance.

My description is making this sound dreadful, I know that and it’s not. At least not yet!

Cassie is chosen to make a key note speech and present a huge rollout for her company. This is a BIG deal for Cassie. It takes weeks of preparation and will help her reach her goals. The trip is in Vegas. She decides to take Chase with her and it’s here that the story goes all to hell for me. I won’t spoil it for everyone dying to read it but I will say that some colossally idiotic behavior goes down and Cassie ends up looking like a complete idiot when it was all said and done.

You might be able to get past that and forget about it. Not I. She is only 28 at the time, you might say, but at 28 I already had two kids, a mortgage, and a full time job and was well on the way to becoming the grumpy reader I am today. 28 is old enough to know better than to act like a coed on spring break. Cassie, up until Vegas, was painted as a responsible, intelligent woman so none of this made sense. This Vegas nonsense tainted the rest of the story for me because after Vegas happened I didn’t give any craps about her and her relationship with Chase.

So, as I mentioned, I did carry on after taking a little break and a few deep cleansing breaths. What followed wasn’t really worth the effort. Their sexy times were hot, I’ll give them that, but that’s not enough to carry me through a book like this when their thoughts and self-talk are repetitive and tedious. Chase describes Cassie as “hilarious” but I never saw it which is a crying shame. Telling me someone is hilarious does me no good at all when they come across as average to boring on the page. They say love is blind though and I do believe it is true. Ah well, perhaps I’m just too grouchy for this kind of book.

2 ½ stars

Bad Reputation was an ok read for me. I liked the story & I thought the characters were well rounded & interesting. There was just a lot of repeating- by the 4th page it had been established several times that they were just friends.

The sexy time was smoking & I loved their happy ending. I just think it could have been reached a lot earlier.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Chase Barrett and Cassie Desrosiers have been friends since college and never took their relationship further. When Cassie has to go to Las Vegas for an important work presentation, Chase tags along. On one of their first nights, Cassie and Chase go out drinking and she suggests they get married. Later it comes out that they actually did get married. On the night before Cassie's presentation Cassie and her coworker Natalie go out with Chase and one of his friends. When Cassie is hit on at the bar, Chase kisses her. By the end of the night they are in bed together and have the best sex of their lives. Cassie misses her presentation and is fired from her job. She then finds out she is married and freaks out. She and Chase tiptoe around being married and having sex. In the end they admit their feelings for each other. In the epilogue Cassie has another job and is pregnant. I waited forever to read this book and I'm not sure why. I enjoyed the friends to lovers story arc and despite his bad reputation, Chase is a nice guy.

HOLY HOTNESS!!! This couple about melted my iPad!! Chase and Cassie were hot enough to melt the ice during a hockey game! The little excerpts at the beginning of each chapter was so great!! I loved the banter between the two and all the pent up sexual frustration. Nicole Edwards never disappoints and this is another must read for all!!

Bad Reputation is the first book in the new Bad Boys of Sports series by Nicole Edwards. I am a huge sports romance fan, so this one sounded like it was going to be one I loved. While it had a lot of promise, unfortunately for me this one ended up just being okay.

Chase is known as the bad boy of hockey, used to playing hard both on and off the ice. No one knows that better than his best friend Cassie. He doesn't do commitment and he likes it that way. As much as he has tried not to notice his best friend Cassie though, he can't help but see her and want more. When they head to Vegas for a week, they both find themselves drawn to each other in a way they hadn't been before.

I have to admit that my main issue here was the characters. I honestly wasn't really feeling anything between these two. They lacked chemistry and I just wasn't seeing a connection beyond friendship and curiosity here. I wanted to believe that there was something more there, but I just wasn't able to. I also struggled to like Cassie. There just wasn't anything I could really relate to with her and I just didn't really feel any connection to her. I did like Chase though. He was sexy and I loved his dirty talk. I just wish I had felt something more here with these two.

My other problem here was the pacing of this story. The first half or so seemed to move slow and often times it felt like it was dragging. The second half on the other hand seemed to accelerate and felt rushed to me. It just never felt like it had a good flow to me and that made it hard to get into the story for me. I do think that Nicole Edwards is worth giving another shot though, but unfortunately this wasn't one of my favorites.

Chase and Cassie's story is a classic friends-to-lovers romance that hit me in all the right places! A great read and an ever greater romance story.

Absolutely love this series by Nicole!
This book follows hockey bad boy Chase "Sin". Sin because he is always in the penalty box! He secretly lusts for his best friend Cassie, but doesn't want to lose the one true friend he has in his life, but when she invites him to her business conference in Vegas, does every that happens there actually stay there? Cassie is a very hard worker, very responsible, till she goes to Vegas. What happens there sets her life on a completely different path than what she had originally had planned!
Follow their best friend story in this great book, 5 stars because I'm loving this new series by her!

Everyone thinks he is a bad boy but if they only knew... He only has eyes for one woman. His best friend is his standard for the perfect woman, she just needs to let loose a little. It takes them forever to cross that imaginary friends line but when they finally give in, they explode. For my liking, I needed them to get there faster in the story because they had already wasted years conforming themselves to friendship. Chase comparing other woman to her having them fall short and Cassie doing the same without even realizing it. The sex is HOT between them. And it is nice to see for a change the man having his mind set and figured out with a lot of patience waiting for her to catch up. I would have taken advantage sooner, no one better to be the love of your life than your best friend.

Bad Reputation is the story of Hockey Bad Boy Chase and his best friend Cassie. The two are best friends - only friends. Although it seems like both might want more but are afraid to tell each other. When Cassie gets a HUGE work opportunity to give a keynote address in Vegas, she is nervous but asks Chase to tag along. Things get a little wild after a night out of drinking when Cassie tells Chase that they should get married. Chase goes along with it but the next morning neither of them can remember anything of what happened. The two end up sharing a kiss and for anyone who witnessed it, it was clearly more than a "just friends" kiss. They end up drunk again and sleeping together all night long. (It took 50% of the book to get to this action - but totally WORTH THE WAIT) Of course, this is also the night before Cassie's big keynote address and you guessed it - she slept through it.

Will Cassie lose her job? Who will remember that first night in Vegas first - and will they tell each other? Will they get the marriage absolved? Once they return from Vegas will they go back to being just friends and what happens in vegas stays in vegas? Well, you'll just have to read it to find out.

Usually I read baseball, not hockey, but the dude on the cover was H-O-T - which usually means the book is going to be a flop but other than being somewhat predictable (the best friends end up together) it was really an enjoyable read.

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

5 stars. Loved it! Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. Chase, star hockey player and his bestfriend Cassie have been friends since college. Chase is the player with the ladies and Cassie rarely dates concentrating on her career. Chase has secretly been in love with Cassie as his dads know, but Cassie has him in the friend zone since she doesn't want to be another notch on his bedpost and the horrific relationship she has with her mom who is on husband number 5 keeps Cassie from believing in love or longterm relationships. Trip to Vegas and things take a turn. Wow the books was so good I couldn't put it down. I know have a new author to check out books from.

Chase and Cassie had me at the first few chapters. This was a great book for me. Anytime you add sports, guys and romance - I'm intrigued. This was no different. This book had its high and lows, with their "big misunderstanding" that resolved pretty quickly. My only critique is that it was wrapped up so quickly. Overall, it was a really good start.

I was given an ARC copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

Cassie & Chase have been best friends since college & are always there for each other no matter what.

Chase is a super hot ice hockey player with a bad reputation for his anger issues on the ice. He has had his fair share of women but can't imagine settling down.

Cassie is smart & successful & unlike Chase, she doesn't really do casual sex. However a trip to Vegas changes everything for the both of them.

This book was absolutely fantastic, there was lots of funny banter & super hot sex & I absolutely loved the characters. Can't wait to read more in the series

Best friends turned lovers’ story. Both characters in denial about how they feel about each other, thinking the other couldn’t possibly be interested. One drunken night in Vegas could have long reaching consequences for them if only they could remember what happened! I enjoyed reading this story but found it a little predictable as far as the occurrences in Vegas and the aftermath of them. I was also disappointed by the lack of hockey action in the book, as a huge sports fan and hockey in particular I gravitate towards hockey romances and like to see a little action on the ice as well as the sheets.

Well written and a good story for some. It just didn't hit high points for me.

This is first person POV that switches between the main characters often. It can be a little disrupting as your are reading and it switches mid chapter.

The sports bits are well done and mesh into the story.

But, my biggest problem was I really didn't like either of the main characters :( I found them to be rather annoying and that really limited my enjoyment of the story.

A story of two best friends one is hockey player and bad boy Chase Barrett, the other is Cassie Desrosiers. She works for a tech company and spends most of her time there. They met in college and also find out that they live close to one another so they go home to visit together also in this story. Home is Wisconsin, they are living in Texas. The story goes along with her thinking that he is still whoring around with one night stands. She does not know that is not the case and that he is finding her more and more attractive. This all comes to a head when he goes with her to Vegas for a tech convention where she is supposed to be a keynote speaker for her company and there new product release. But what happens the night before derails her speech and her job. What she does not know is will that also derail their future. Both want to be together but do they each want to admit what they remember that night in Vegas. Do they want to be happy? This is a fun story about two people who had already found each other but did not know it. Read this good story and see who it ends.

Chase and Cassie had the perfect friends to lovers storyline as long as they were in Vegas. Once they left and real life invaded, the story fell a little flat, relying solely on sex scenes to make it work.
