This book has good writing and Cassie and Chase go from friends to lovers, one of my favorite genres. I did get a little irritated with Cassie for her oblivious nature and somewhat selfishness, but Chase also known as Sin was sexy and likeable. The banter between them was fun and even quirky.

This was a friends to lovers story. It was also set in the sports world so it had all the things I would like but it was just ok for me. Not sure that I was really able to connect with the characters, thought there was just too much wishy-washy with them.

3 Cute Stars

"It's not like I was going to fall in love with the bad boy of hockey. I knew better." -Cassie

Cassie and Chase have been best friends for years. He has a secret crush on her, but doesn't want to ruin their friendship. She just thinks he's an a-hole but a good friend. She's not interested in a serious relationship because she's very career-focused.

I love a good friends-to-lovers book. This one was very cute and I liked how for once it's the hot guy who's a bit insecure and hoping for more! Chase doesn't seem like an a-hole, though. He seems like a sweet guy with a crush and a major attraction to his bestie!

The story was a little slow moving at first, since Cassie isn't at all interested in Chase "that way," and we are reminded again and again why it would be a bad idea for them to leave the friend zone. However, I never really felt like they had a good enough reason so all of the waffling around seemed unnecessary. There were some set-ups for many sweet, romantic scenes but the scenes would fizzle out. Why?! And when something awesome finally seemed like it was going to happen, well, let's just say we didn't get to be a part of it.

So it was a cute story that had a few missed opportunities to be great! But I definitely enjoyed it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this friends to lovers story. It is a mixture of sweetness, sexiness and laughter. This is a fun and entertaining story about two friends who are afraid to show their true feelings for each other because they are sure it will ruin their friendship.

Chase plays professional hockey for the Texas Tornados. He is a big, gruff guy with a charming, protective and caring side. Chase has had a secret crush on his best friend, Cassie for years but he keeps her in the friend zone because he is afraid if they started a romantic relationship and it didn't work out, he would lose his best friend. Chase is funny, and just an all around nice guy. He is the bad boy of hockey and has a reputation as a manwhore. Women are always falling all over Chase. He uses the women for sex but it is his best friend, Cassie who he spends all his time with.

Cassie is smart and driven and has a successful career with a software company. She is a workaholic and doesn't have time to date and would never think of having a one night stand. She is prim and proper and the exact opposite of Chase in every way. She refuses to depend on anyone, especially a man.

This is a captivating storyline with engaging characters. I like both Chase and Cassie. They have a great friendship and they care about each other but have to continually fight their mutual attraction to each other. Since meeting in college, they have always been there for each other and even though they are total opposites, they bring out the best each other. I also enjoyed Cassie's best friend Natalie and all the other secondary characters in this story. The story is told from alternate POV’s so we know what both the characters are feeling. This is the first book in the the Bad Boy of Sports series and I can't wait to read more.

Steamy, sexy, mixed up and lovable. That's what Cassie and Chase are in this fantastic story. I didn't want to put it down.

This was a cute friends-to-lovers romance. I loved their relationship. They had a lot of good back and forth between them that was funny and charming at times.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

This was tame for what I am use to from Nicole Edwards but so good! I love sports romances and the fact that it’s a friends to lovers book too.

Chase and Cassie have been best friends for nine years. Cassie has a great career and Chase is a hockey player, they met in college and have remained friends. They have always had a plutonic relationship until a trip to Vegas. Chase tags along with Cassie to go out of town on a work trip and things heat up. They’re chemistry is off the charts.

These two characters sizzled the pages. Chase and Cassie have a sweet relationship with lots of steam and love. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

I am sorry to report that I could not finish this book. I was so uninterested in Chase and Cassie, they were annoying and I was board with all the back and forth. The words "we are only friends" were quoted in EVERY chapter , that became very annoying. I GET IT.
How these two could be so clueless as to what the other was feeling is beyond me. If you best friend is in love or in like with someone, YOU know it. I had lukewarm feeling for out leads so I was not invested in them. I liked that Chase had two Dads, I liked their interactions, I found them to be intriguing.
Cassie's Best friend , I can not even remember her name, but she had me in stitches!

I read this to around 65% and I just didn't care if they were together or not at that point.
I am not happy that I am leaving this review, but I am an honest blogger and this is how I feel.

I love Nicole Edwards’ books and she definitely didn’t disappoint this time around!

Bad Reputation is her first sports romance and she definitely hit it off!

I loved reading this best friend to lovers book between Chase Barrett and Cassie. Chase is a hockey player and Cassie is his best friend. They spend so much time together that people just assume that they are together.

One fated trip to Vegas proves to make for one very interesting and quite unforgettable adventure. Except that Chase and Cassie can’t remember their first night in Vegas.

I loved learning about the different characters and Chase’s teammates.

I definitely look forward to more of Nicole’s sports romances!

This was a fun story. Low on angst. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. It is also one of my favorite tropes.

I think I would have just liked a little bit more substance to it. However, that being said, I enjoyed it. It thoroughly entertained me. I would definitely want to read more from this author. I can't wait to see what Nicole comes up with next.

It started off a bit too slow for me, but picked up the pace and finished strong. I enjoyed the banter between Chase and Cassie, they have the intimacy that comes from being friends for so long. Once they finally got down to the sexy time - wow! Very hot.

A fun read for anyone who enjoys a good hockey / sports romance.

How many times have you been told you can't be friends with someone of the opposite sex. JUST friends? Well For Chase and Cassie it has been going on for SEVEN years. Friends since highschool, the bad boy hockey player and the young VP tech girl have been just that, friends. Know one believes they can be just friends? So how have they made it this long?

Chase is known as the bad boy in the eye of the public. Spending a good majority of his ice time in the penalty box and the rest with women. Cassie is non casual dater, and her best friend is a player so why would there be anything more than friendship...Neither realize they have settled for friendship because they don't want to lose the other one. Chase has always had an attraction to Cassie, but he wants her companionship, her easy, comfortable friendship more than his physical attraction so he doesn't act on it. Can this go on forever? No. Through a series of misfortunes and right place, right times he acts on his feelings and so does she. What they never saw coming was the fact that they had loved the other since day one but hid it to have some form of the other in their life.

This unexplored passion between them comes to a head and they are faced with decisions on where they will go from here. They are friends, is it worth more. Can he give her more? He is more than what the public sees but can she see that?

I am a huge fan of sports romances, Hockey romances in particular so I was excited to read this book. Unfortunately I had such an issue connecting with these characters from the get go. There was nothing about them that I found intriguing and I struggled to get through most of this book.

This is the first book in this series by this author. This is a friends to lovers story which will have you hooked from the first page. This is a really fun sweet read with the added hunky hockey players. The characters in this book are really well developed and had fantastic banter between them. I really enjoyed the characters they made the story seem real. I can't wait to read more in this series and by this author in the future.
Highly recommended

Bad Reputation grabs the reader's attention pretty quickly as characters are introduced and we learn about the friendship between Chase and Cassie. The characters are interesting and the dialogue is often witty and fun. While Chase is a bad boy on the ice, I wouldn't necessarily call him that when it comes to romance. A playboy, yes, but that doesn't make him a bad boy. His best friend who, according to the blurb, calls him on his BS, even mentions what a great guy he is and how well he treats women. That aside, the story is engaging at the beginning, but begins to fizzle soon thereafter. The pacing is almost agonizingly slow at times and I found myself wondering if there was actually going to be any romance. Things do start to heat up between Cassie and Chase, but the turnaround in Cassie's behavior seemed a bit much, considering how career driven she is up to that point.
The writer is certainly talented and the premise is good, but the pacing made it too easy to set aside for something else.

This was my first book from Nicole so I went into it not knowing how sexy it was going to be. It starts off pretty sweet. I love the idea of two friends having secret feelings for each other that they are either denying (Chase) or haven't discovered (Cassie). I loved their playful friendship. Giving each other all kinds of hell lead to fabulous banter between the two. Things turn sexy when the pair hits Vegas. Or... When Vegas hits them. All of the pent up sexual tension... Holy cow! They made me blush.

What I loved the most about Bad Reputation was that it was Chase who had not-so-friendly feelings towards Cassie. In most of the friends-to-lovers I've read, it is usually the heroine that falls for her friend. Watching Chase get goosebumps when Cassie touches him made me love him. His reactions towards her were swoon worthy.

I love discovering new to me authors that write hockey romances. I'm so glad I gave this one a go because I freaking loved it and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

TBH some of the early reviews I read had me worried because they weren’t very favorable. But I always stick to my guns and like to form my own opinions. I really enjoyed Chase & Cassie’s story. It wasn’t the “same old” friends to lovers romance. I truly love when the typical roles are reversed and the man is the one that has feelings for his female friend. They really have a great relationship and have me rolling from laughter most of the time. I can’t wait to meet the stars of the next installment.
