I loved a lot of things about this book. The writing, story and characters were wonderful. The character motivations (very often the trickiest part of the story in my opinion!) were clear and plausible. BUT (and unfortunately there is a 'but') there were a couple of niggles that stopped me from being able to give this the five stars it would otherwise have deserved. One of the main ones was small plot points that were focused on during the story but then never explained. This is one that comes to mind (it's not pivotal to the plot in any way so not a spoiler): Caleb is asleep after he and Faith spend the night together and Faith is staring at tattoos on his back. They are described in detail and Faith muses that they must have great significance to him but that she doesn't know him well enough to ask about them. However this is never revisited. If so much significance hadn't been attached then I wouldn't have thought much about it, but there was and I did and it was annoying! This happened a couple of times and the plot points really weren't very significant and could have been left out all together. Sorry if this sounds like a bit of a rant, but in an otherwise excellent story this was disappointing. However I would definitely still recommend the book as it's a really entertaining read!

'Need You Now' is a story of two people who are familiar with fame and all of the accompanying problems associated with it. Faith Harper is the daughter of the now-deceased rock star icon Grey Harper and runs a yearly music festival on the island off the California coast where she grew up in a dysfunctional family. Caleb White is a recently retired tennis player who escapes to the island with a longtime friend. Although there is excessive (and in my opinion unnecessary) graphic sex, the story of their growing attachment is engaging. There are a lot of people to care about on the island of Lansing, and I look forward to reading about them in the future.
Need You Now by Emma Douglas is a hot summer read. The instant chemistry between characters lured me further into the book. The daughter of a musician is needing a new fling. She soon spots a sexy man with the bluest eyes. Attraction hard and fast. Later on, Faith finds out who he is. The famous Caleb White, star tennis player, who has recently retired. Both start out wanting a good distraction. A no strong relationship. But the more they're together the harder that becomes for them both. Sparks fly everywhere. Hot, sexy, and fun. Emma Douglas has created an exciting contemporary novel. I was entertained. In the beginning the pages dragged a bit in speed, but soon took off fast. Need You Now suits this book well. Both Faith and Caleb need each other in their lives. But the question lingers if they will figure it out...overall, this was an engaging story.
