This book was tough for me - I had never read the series, but thought the premise was interesting. However I did not enjoy the m/f relationships in this at all. Most of the women within the short stories had zero agency, and were essentially submissive to the men in the book. They're required to bend to their will, and the culture they live in expects them to. With the exception of 'Need's Edge" (which had it's own problems), I didn't find myself caring for any of the protagonists. I think this style of romance is not for me, but again I did enjoy the post-apocalyptic setting with neo-Vikings.
