I thought this was a pretty solid read. I enjoyed the plot line and the writing style as well as the characters. I will for sure be picking up more by this author.

The Connor family looked perfect on the outside, a new and exciting marriage, a new city and home to renovate to make it their own and 3 young kids. It all seemed perfect to Cass as well until Ryan started to show his true colors and psychological abuse. When Cass would confront him with anything, he would turn it around and make her feel as if she were to blame.

I was completely engaged in the story and found it very tense. I agree with some other reviews that it was a little wordy and over descriptive in a few parts but overall a good psychological thriller.

It took me quite a few attempts to try and read this. I simply had to give up on it. It sounded so promising and really good, but fell flat unfortunately. I really tried to like this one.

Cass and Ryan are happily married until Cass starts to suspect Ryan is being unfaithful. Are her suspicions accurate or is she being paranoid? Who should you trust? Absolutely compelling story that keeps you turning the pages.

The plot seemed interesting enough, but I couldn't get into Poison despite a couple different attempts. While I don't think it's necessary to "like" the characters to enjoy a book, the husband was just too awful and it was hard to get through. I enjoyed the unreliable narrator aspect, but I struggled to pick this one up.

Poison turned out to be nothing like I thought. Abusive, controlling husbands are something I have personal experience with, and reading about that and the gaslighting is not a pleasant time for me. Reading this book made my skin feel too tight. Some of the language was silly, and I'm still not sure if that was meant to be funny or not. There are plenty of other books about an untrustworthy spouse. Pick up one of those, instead.

I just could not finish... The characters were a struggle for me and the storyline just did not get my attention.

Talk about a psycological thriller dark horse! I never heard anything about Poison, and it's been in my que for FAR too long. On a whim I decided to read it, and OH MY GOODNESS! Why have I never heard about this book before. Full of unreliable characters, the entire book kept me guessing as to what was going on and who was to blame.

I couldn’t get into this book. I tried to start it more than once, but it wasn’t for me. It was a DNF. Since netgalley reviews require a rating to submit I’m giving it two stars.

Twisted. Lots of plots and subplots. Very detailed writing. Not lighthearted reading. The author demonstrates prowess with the written word. Can you figure out what is up with Cass and Ryan?

This was an entertaining audiobook listen to me. I have had the netgalley ARC for a while but never got to it. I saw the audio version available on my library app and downloaded it. The narrator is good and it moves at a good pace. I do recommend it.

Cass and Ryan are recently married. They seem to have an idyllic life and are crazy for each other..lots of hot sex and I love yous, sappy, romantic. But, it all kinda turns sour when Cass starts to suspect that Ryan is cheating on her. She needs to know the truth. They won't sit very well with Ryan. He is having none of these accusations. It gets pretty nasty. Cass comes to believe that Ryan is poisoning her to get rid of her. I had to suspend disbelief to move forward with parts of the story.
I'll leave the rest for you to find out. It's a well-written story but became a bit long with some repetition in my opinion. It is a story that needs to be told. How women are disregarded and not believed when it comes to domestic abuse.

I received a digital copy for review from the publisher and Netgalley. While I read some of the book, I also listened to the library audiobook. The narrator was good and I recommend it. I didn't love this book, but it was entertaining on my walks in the afternoon. Very suspenseful and anxiety-producing. I wanted to know what happened, so it did accomplish what I wanted from it...kept me walking longer. That is a good thing!

DNF. Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read Poison. I couldn’t connect with the characters in this one. It just wasn’t for me, but if you like psychological suspense and a book full of paranoia, this may be for you!

I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this anymore. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!

Unfortunately I did not finish this book. I appreciate the opportunity to read this tale. I found the plot a bit convoluted and it lost my interest halfway in.

Poison is a psychological thriller about a seemingly happy couple. Cass and Ryan have three kids between the two of them. Cass has two children from a previous marriage, and she and Ryan have a child together.

When Cass becomes ill and begins to experience nausea, headaches, forgetfulness, and more, she believes her husband is poisoning her and cheating on her with another woman. Cass goes to the police for protection for herself and her children, but they won’t believe her. The only person that does, is her lawyer. Without the help of the police, Cass is determined to make her husband pay for what he has done, and she’s willing to risk her life to do so.

I rated this book 3 stars. I have read a lot of domestic psychological thrillers, and this one doesn’t really stand out to me. It was just ‘meh’. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. I found some of the plot and transitions to be a little clunky as well. The book also became repetitive at times. The author made sure you are aware Cass believes she was poisoned, the police don’t believe her because she’s a woman, and her husband is a misogynist.

Tho this book was well written, and good for what it was, it didn't keep my interest as a psychological thriller. I found it more to be a family drama through most of the book. That being said it was a pretty good story with a bit expected turns. I seen the cheating and lies coming. I enjoyed the very fully formed characters and the story but it was a bit slow at times.

This book had too many inconsistencies with the writing. One train of thought occurs, followed by another in the same paragraph. She’s opened the door, then a few paragraphs later she’s opening the door again. Just ugh.

This had potential (the reason for the second star.) The first few chapters had some very poignant messages about family and the value of the people in your life. The rest was just crap. If there weren’t so many empty holes, lack of substance, and a weak ending, it could’ve been something. Eh, oh well.

Definitely a unique thriller with a creepy perspective. I haven't come across many where poison is the main premise so this was definitely interesting if slow at times!

This book held a lot of promise, strongly reminiscent of a modern feminist retelling of "The Yellow Wallpaper." Neiderhoffer built tension spectacularly throughout the novel. In the middle third, the pages were practically electric. However, the writing tore the plot apart. There was an excessive amount of telling instead of showing, which made it difficult for the characters and some of the scenes to come off the page or feel real. There was some fairly heavy-handed writing and references to modern events (such as Donald Trump's misogyny or the BIll Cosby case) that felt forced in.

The plot was good. The author can create an aura of paranoia really really well. But he writing about the mundane, the writing the novel needed to fall back on to maintain the plot, fell apart.
