Wow I never expected to love this book as much as I do. I knew it would be good from the blurb but this book hit me deeper emotionally than I expected. It dealt with some intense personal issues in both Lorenzo and Kira. I felt the author did an admirable and well executed job of creating intense drama while giving the reader clear impressions of what drove both of these tortured people.

For Kira she took a character that I couldn't relate to and showed a side of her that filled me with compassion and understanding for the life she was living.

Lorenzo, well his character was more obvious to me and the part in the book where Kira is recalling a scene between him and a women caused me to wonder how did he go from that loving guy to this cold man he was now.

And let's not forget how very hot this book is. It will curl your toes with the intense sexual interchanging between these two main characters. It just makes one wish they could find a clone of him.

Because of the scorching love scenes and the heart wrenching story line I give this 4 STARS.

This book is fine, but I liked the last one better. I posted a review on Goodreads.

I liked the blurb to this story. Interesting story except there was no actual spying on anyone. I wish there would of been more as to why she was needed to spy on him because I was a little confused about it. I liked Kira, she was a party girl who went through a terrible accident and excepted her mistakes and was trying to atone for them. Lorenzo was just totally unlikable. I did not like the repeating in this story it totally made it drag and almost unreadable. Lorenzo mentions his dead ex girlfriend (whom he actually barely knew) like a million times. And Kira mentions over and over about this accident she caused. I wish we could have seen more into that to see how she was actually atoning for her mistakes that took her friends lives. I will say that Ms Ashenden wrote some pretty domineering sex scenes that were pretty steamy.

The Billionaire's Intern
Billionaire Fairy Tales # 3
Jackie Ashenden
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awesome Read!! It's called a novella but it's a normal length story. This was Lorenzo and Kira's story.

Lorenzo De Santis is the boss. He's an uncompromising hardass, he doesn’t suffer fools, and he doesn’t have time to deal with witless young interns. But when an old friend asks for a favor, Lorenzo can’t refuse. Even if it means taking on the man’s daughter as a project.

Kira Constantin: Rich. Party girl...Spy.

Kira Constantin feels like she has been half-alive since that one night of partying ended in tragedy. So when her father demands that she go undercover at De Santis Corp as a spy, there’s no way she can refuse. She must redeem herself, even if that means dealing with a boss like of Lorenzo De Santis.

Except neither of them counts on the forbidden heat that flares between them. As Kira and Lorenzo draw closer, spying on him becomes harder and harder. And then Kira discovers that the real villain might be closer to her than she thinks…

This is part of a series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I really like this authors writing style. She really gets you totally involved in the story. Can't wait to read her next one.

Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Lorenzo de Santis is a man ruled by revenge. Holding his father at fault for his mothers suicide. He's also dealing with his own guilt and loss of the only other person he loved. Kira Constantin the daughter of his fathers longtime friend Ivan Constantin head of the families DS Corp.’s accounts department and life long bad girl. As a child Lorenzo always thought of her as in constant movement and much like his younger brother. Her parents never paid much attention to her and they were always outwardly disappointed in her. Since the accident that was her fault and killed two of her friends, Kira vows to change and become a calm and in control person.
Lorenzo is on the verge of pinning embezzling on his father he knows he's the one taking millions from the company he just needs to find the proof. Kira's father insists the Lorenzo takes her on as an intern. It's the last thing Lorenzo wants is a intern, but he's suspicious of why Ivan wants it so badly. Lorenzo decides to use her for information but little does he know that Ivan I blackmailing Kira to do the same thing. The minute he sees Kira he knows he's in trouble. She's not at all what he'd thought and he's not the same handsome man that Kira remembers and had a crush on and showed her kindness. Kira makes him feel again and he wants nothing to do with it and Lorenzo makes Kira want to loose her hard earned control.
Most of this book I had a hard time reading. It may of just been her writing style and my dyslexic mind, but I loved the end of this book.

My first experience reading Jackie Ashenden and I am glad that this was the story to start. Based loosely off of the "Sleeping Beauty" fairy tale, both Kira and Lorenzo need to awaken to the world around them and get past previous mistakes. Kira is more than meets the eye: her past is a mash of car accidents, failing grades and a seeminless careless disregard to convention. Upon finding out the reason why, it all makes sense her determination to succeed. Lorenzo is ruthless and laser-pointed in his dedication to finding out who is trying to destroy the company from within. These characters show immense growth both emotionally and personally

'The Billionaire's Intern' by Jackie Ashenden by Jackie Ashenden is book Three in the "Billionaire Fairy Tales". This is the story of Kira and Lorenzo. I have not yet read the other books in this series so for me this was a standalone book.
Kira has ADHD and her parents really never addressed it...so she was never really treated for it. In addition there are more things going on with Kira she is trying to work through. Her father is having her work as a intern in Lorenzo's company to work as a spy. Lorenzo when she was younger used to be a nice person and she always had a crush on him. But now Lorenzo is a harden man who still has a little bit of a soft spot for Kira and agrees to her father asking him to take her on as an Intern.
Both Kira and Lorenzo had issues that they needed to work through but once they worked through their differences they fit each other perfect.

A dark sad story about two damaged souls that lean on each other and find their way. Lorenzo is the COO of his father company and he thinks daddy dearest is stealing from it so he plans to prove it to the board to have him removed. Kira is his dad's best friend's daughter that has been hired to be Lorenzo's intern so she can spy on him. Kira has fond memories from her childhood of Lorenzo being the only one that ever help her with her ADHD. There are some hot scenes and a HEA. If you like a heart wrenching story be sure to read.

I voluntarily reviewed a an advance copy of this book provided by St. Marin's Press/Netgalley.

I enjoyed Jackie Ashenden’s In Bed With the Billionaire and had reviewed it.
But what did I get from this one?

Well, this was a quick read – on my reading device it was 168 pages which was easily devoured in a day.
What’s the breakdown though?

Lorenzo is a billionaire who works at the family company – DS Corps. where he is trying to bring his father down because allegedly he is stealing from the company – in comes a corporate spy who happens to be the daughter of one of the men who works in the company and is linked to Lorenzo’s past. Kira is to be his intern – which is curious because he doesn’t take them on.

Cue drama llama.

Right off the bat there seems to be some heat accumulating which seemed a little over the top for me, chemistry is one thing but it just seemed to be a little too much too soon. Kira has ADHD – which is mentioned quite frequently and it served as an annoying element which I’ll get to later on.

As far as characters go I felt like Lorenzo had some potential for depth but it was skimmed over so he could take on the alpha male role. Kira was absent minded, fidgety [because of the ADHD…,] and I didn’t take to her character so much, she didn’t leap out or grab my attention in any fashion. Neither one of them experiences much character growth which was a little upsetting for me – because while I enjoy romance/smut I also enjoy good character development or if nothing else a good plot/story.

The ending seemed abrupt and rushed. As I said before I really did enjoy the other Ashenden book I read, but this one just felt rushed, not as tidy. Characters [for me,] weren’t as likable.

For example, Lorenzo says to Kira not too far into the book, as he is forcing her to couple with him,
“Prove yourself and then I’ll decide if I want you.”
In regard to her internship at the company. He belittles her, controls her, strips rights away – dominating her without the perks of a submissive – safety, assurance, etc.

Along side that, the ADHD portion bugged me. It came across as Kira’s ADHD could be cured by a dominant’s willpower – which structure certainly does help, but saying “Still” is much like telling an Epileptic to stop seizing.

Overall, this was an “OK” read for me. It was quick, but those few issues are what made it just an okay read.

I hadn't read the first two books so was kinda confused......loved the play on the tale of sleeping beauty. This book is about Lorenzo who is trying to prove his father is embezzling from his own company. And Kira who is suppose to be Lorenzo's intern.....Lorenzo smells a spy!! I applaud Jackie's tackle of ADHD and how well she described the issue may have. The book was good I enjoyed it.....

This was a good read for me. Kira is being forced by her father to spy on Lorenzo. Lorenzo has too much going on at the moment but when is friend asks for a favor, he agrees. The story has loads of drama and the sex between Kira and Lorenzo is steamy. I believe this read could have been a bit better, Lorenzo was not my favorite hero and there is a bit of repetitiveness to the read. Overall it is an entertaining read.

This one just didn't do it for me. The hero (if you can call me that) was boorish in so many ways in that he didn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. He was an A-hole with a Capital A and there was no softness in him. Kira, on the other hand, needs to woman-up. Yes, she has a reputation and partied her way through life to excess but she does not have to hand over her life to make up for it. The sex was hot, even if it was angry sex, but there was something lacking in it. There was too much repetition but the writing was still good..

The story of Kira and Lorenzo. Kira has had a crush on Lorenzo since she was a child. he showed her patience and understood her ADHD although it was not diagnosed then.

Time passes and they are thrown together after a number of events. Kira to spy on Lorenzo and he knows this. How will this work out as the attraction is a mutual thing.

This is an easy relaxing read. The alpha scenes have a twist due to Kira being a bit of a live wire.

A plausible story line,not too deep .A poolside read.

3 stars
Thanks to Netgalley,the author and the publisher for the book in exchange for a honest review

Review of The Billionaire's Intern by Jackie Ashenden

Received an ARC from Netgallery in exchange for an honest review

Rating 5+++ Stars

3rd Book in this series each is a stand alone with a HEA - I absolutely loved this book !!

The 2 main characters Kira & Lorenzo are awesome together!!! Kira has always been thought of as the party girl - having gotten into some serious trouble in her college yrs. However this could not be further from the truth. She is hiding a terrible secret it seems that no one - not her parents or friends are able to see thru her actions & help her.

Lorenzo is asked to take Kira on as his Intern a decision he turns to his advantage after suspecting she has been planted to provide information to her father & his in regards to a possible takeover with their company. He is also hiding some emotional issues that he has not resolved concerning the deaths of his mother and girlfriend. He never allows anyone to get close to him.

Sparks fly immediately when these 2 are in close proximity. Kira is not going to backdown & can easily hold her own with Lorenzo.

I've rated this book 5+++ stars as in typical Jackie Ashenden fashion the characters are strong , relatable & off the charts smoking hot together!

I could not put this book down & pretty much read in one sitting!

Great read from an amazing author!!

Ugh! I hate it when an author I love has a book that I just can't get into. This is that situation for me. Usually with a Jackie Ashenden book I am totally absorbed into the story. Even when I dislike the characters the story usually keeps my focus. With this one I not only disliked the hero, billionaire Lorenzo De Santis, immensely but the story lacked that wow factor and I found my mind drifting at times. Kira Constantin is his poor intern that has been forced on him and he lets her know how much he doesn't want her around. Yet he does. For his pleasure. Secretly she has her own agenda so I guess these two really deserve each other.

The book didn't really work for me but as with all Ms. Ashenden's books the writing is excellent and the characters are well done and bring out your emotions.

Intense and raw.
~~~~~~~~~~~
When you're looking for a book with a controlling, demanding, cranky, sexy, hot man, here's one to pick up.
This engrossing read is everything you looking for in a hot romance. Plenty of sexy situations, control, and a little bit of dominance play a big part in the story. It was intense and very raw in so many ways!
There's no question what this book is all about. When it comes to billionaire stories, the control and dominance is evident. What is not so evident, in this particular book, is the compulsion to have something that he is not supposed to have, want or crave.
The author did a great job creating a character that is complex along with plenty of burning hot passion and steam.
Not a lot of character development, but let's be honest. We read these for the heat. And she definitely delivered on that. HOT
Can you let out of the guilt? Kira knows that this is her last chance to make her father proud but can she really do it. She has looked up to Lorenzo for years and now working for him is really hard as she has to pretend to fit in with others and she is trying really hard not to lash out at him as he drives her crazy. Lorenzo can't believe how much she has grown but has really she changed time will tell. A simple game becomes so much more for them both but who can guarantee anything anymore. Can they really work together now after everything that has happened? They both knew why they were doing it but what now? Can he walk away from her and just pretend that she doesn't mean anything to him and can Kira just move forward now? Two complex people find what they both have been looking for but one isn't too certain as she has been hurt before and she knows that he could break her heart. Should Kira walk towards the light with him or will she take in the corner by herself? A good read about revenge, forgiveness and finding that part that has been missing.
The Billionaire's Intern is a contemporary fairy tale that mixes a workaholic billionaire and a modern day Sleeping Beauty with ADHD. That being said, it's much different from the original Sleeping Beauty, with spy games, suspense, hot sex, and angst. If you like fairy tales or books with plenty of heat, then you will NOT want to miss this book!
The plot was unique. The idea of Sleeping Beauty as a industrial spy named Kira is definitely unlike anything I've read. At times, I found my attention wandering, but for the most part the story line held my attention. The garden party had me on the edge of my seat with worry for Kira and Lorenzo. I felt like the end was a bit rushed; I wanted more details in the aftermath of the garden party.
Lorenzo was exactly what you would expect from a hot, alpha billionaire. I found myself alternating between swooning and wanting to slap him for being a total jerk. Poor Kira had my sympathy from the beginning; I found her relatable in many ways. I would have liked to see a little more of her sass.
This was my first book by Jackie Ashenden. It is book three in The Billionaire Fairy Tales series, but can easily be read as a standalone, which is what I did. That being said, I enjoyed this book so much that I will definitely be going back to read books one and two in the series.
