Love this book/series. Beautiful story about redemption and misconceptions are all on this book. Lorenzo is on a mission to prove is father is stealing from the company. Kira is trying to start over and her father uses that to task her with getting info on Lorenzo as his new intern. There's an instant attraction between the two when the meet but Lorenzo only see the old Kira. As they spend time together they find out secrets that defines who they are and realize that they help each other cope with the past. Recommended read.
Jackie NEVER fails me. She is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors and boy does know how to write steamy scenes. The Billionaires Intern was no different . I loved the premise of a 'fairytale' and boy, did this book deliver! Jackie always comes up with fresh new ways to keep her stories interesting and makes each new book different enough so that the characters and story lines aren't repetitive. I can't wait to read her upcoming book 'Wicked Billionaire' which stars a navy SEAL, my favorite type of hero!!!
I think this is the first book I have ever read that featured a heroine with ADHD and have it completely define the character's personality. All of her life, Kira has felt like a failure simply because she could not sit still and focus on anything. As a result, she decided to simply give up trying to succeed until she ended up causing a fatal car accident. Now Kira is determined to make something of her life even if no one around notices. In order to get the money she needs for her project, Kira is forced by her father to spy on billionaire Lorenzo DeSantis as his intern. But then her childhood crush, Lorenzo, is planning on using her in the same fashion.
This was a fun contemporary romance featuring two damaged souls finding one another. Plenty of steamy scenes but some readers may take offense to Lorenzo's initial behavior. No fear, Kira doesn't let him totally away with it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
A nice steamy summer read. Just long enough to allow character building but not so long that it got boring.
2.5*
Kira has been in love with Lorenzo De Santis since she was fourteen years old and now years later she finds herself working as his intern and his effect on her is just as great, well at least it is until he opens his mouth
"I think you’re an arrogant, entitled asshole, and just because you knew what I was like as a kid doesn’t mean you know one single thing about me as an adult.”
That just about sums him up perfectly or does it?
Like Kira, Lorenzo didn't have an easy childhood especially considering his father is the complete opposite of warm and cuddly. His mother bitterly unhappy living in New York self-medicated with pills and vodka before taking her own life.
Kira suffers from ADHD a condition her parents have chosen to ignore since it doesn't fit in with their idea of a perfect daughter, as a result Kira has struggled to cope and fit in.
Kira is pushed into working as intern to Lorenzo by her father, the idea is she spies and reports back. Okay, so this is all a little far-fetched and silly, as if Lorenzo wouldn't realise what what going on.
My problems:
There's a lot of repetition when it comes to Kira's past.
#### SPOILER ####
I personally don't like it when a dead lover plays such a huge part in a book and here I felt that Katie overshadowed a lot.
I know Lorenzo was devastated at her death and blames himself and therefore this is going to be mentioned and play a part but Katie is mentioned 55 times and for me that was far too much.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press.
The synopsis of this book is what interested me but having something of substance is what usually keeps me. This, unfortunately, wasn't one of those reads. I feel like two people should be with each other and actually like them for who they are. Not who you think they could possibly be.
When someone does something seeking approval that's already problematic. So Kira, who wants daddy's approval already got strike one. Strike two is Lorenzo's personality. While he can embody the Alpha male, his attitude is what takes him down in my eyes. He doesn't really like who Kira really is but has no problem taking her in physical ways. So if that is what and all you want in a read then this is definitely for you. But if you want building meaningful reads, this isn't that.
Another fabulous romance by Ms. Ashenden. A well-rounded plot and solid romance.
THE BILLIONAIRE’S INTERN provided a quick, easy, entertaining read with lots of raw emotions and down and dirty angry sex between two highly emotionally damaged individuals.
The premise was there but overall, this book wasn’t for me. I did not like Lorenzo at all and although I did slightly understand Kira, she was so desperate for approval their interaction screamed abuse/taking advantage. Lorenzo tried to deal with his anger by aggressively dominating and controlling everything around him. Lorenzo pretty much hates everything Kira was known to be. While Kira is begging for someone to happy with her as a human being. The connection between Kira and Lorenzo was superficial and unjustified and in the end it lacked DEPTH. To make this better it would of had to have a lot less internal, repetitive dialog and more subsistence creating a character connection. 2.5 stars
If you are looking for straight steam then this book is for you.
I received this ARC copy of The Billionaire's Intern from St. Martin's Press - Swerve. This is my honest and voluntary review. The Billionaire's Intern is set for publication August 1, 2017.

She was made to feel she was a failure as a daughter. She became the underachiever they expected until her party-girl antics caused the ultimate pain for more than just herself. For her entire life she just couldn’t be still, couldn’t be quiet and couldn’t resist the little voices that encouraged her to “do something, anything to create action and hold her attention and imagination.” Now Kira is a broken woman, trying desperately to re-create herself into a responsible adult who can give back to society. She also has ADHD, and a father who wants her to spy on his best friend’s son.
He has become a heartless, cold and demanding monster, someone who people keep their distance from, someone feared and obeyed and his quest to kill his emotions all started when he lost the love of his life. Now he is the COO of his ruthless father’s corporation and is out to uncover his father’s treacheries at any cost. Lorenzo doesn’t have time to babysit the little hellion he remembered from years before, but is forced to take Kira on as an intern. Kira is all grown up, and he cannot help but notice.
Together they will either destroy themselves or bring to light a history of cooked books and stolen money…
Jackie Ashenden’s THE BILLIONAIRE’S INTERN is a quick read with raw, hot, down and dirty sex between two damaged souls, one trying to completely dominate and obliterate the past and the other desperately seeking just one person’s unconditional approval in her life. Lorenzo’s character was a complete turnoff for me and he never could redeem himself in my eyes. I did adore Kira, who owns her mistakes and wants nothing more than to atone for them. The sex, while definitely heated and raw, just didn’t scream sexy to me, period. I wanted more depth, less vague past references and more meat to make me believe and leave my world to enter theirs.
I received an ARC edition from St. Martin's Press - Swerve in exchange for my honest review.

Loved. This. Book. My Kindle was smoking from the sexual tension ( I think I'm gonna need a new one). Kira's condition made her seem so normal - like someone with whom I could relate - and not just a character in a book. My favorite part of the book was when she actually went across the desk to Lorenzo. I think my heart actually melted a little.
Kira was never the perfect daughter her parents wanted and after a car wreck that killed two of her friends, she tries to change and be a better person. She wants to open a place for kids with learning disabilities to come and get help. Her father will give her the money if she spies on Lorenzo.
Lorenzo is a billionaire who is CFO of his family's company. He knows his dad as been taking money but doesn't have proof. He wants to take his father down and nobody will stand in his way. He hires Kira as an intern but figures out why she's there and decides to use her to his advantage.
Neither expect the feelings the grow between them. When they get together it's like throwing gas on a fire but both have been hurt and neither believes they are good enough for the other.
It took me a little while to get into this story. A little confusing at first. Lorenzo was hateful and mean. Kira has trouble keeping her emotions under control. The sex between them is explosive. But there is a little cliffhanger at the end. At least to me there was.
Lorenzo does not want to be followed around by an intern. Kira's trying to make up for all her past mistakes and change who she was.
I remember reading a preview for this book and being excited to read it. I wasn't disappointed. I liked how much the hero supported the heroine plus it had the right amount of angst.
I was very lucky to get an invitation from the publisher for an ARC from NetGalley, so thank you.
I am so completely in love with this story, I laughed, I cried and I just can't explain in words how much I adore this story!!
The characters stole my heart, and I promise that I'll write a more coherent review nearer to release date!
This is another fun read in this series. There is enough continuity from book to book and a foreshadow of what is to come. This one was a little too drawn out for me, but overall a good read.
The Billionaire's Intern by Jackie Ashenden is a story that will grab you and keep you glued to your e-reader till the end. Ms Ashenden has once again impressed me with her writing abilities, delivering a smooth read with this well-written book. The characters are a perfect fit for this story and absolutely amazing. Lorenzo and Kira's story is loaded with drama, suspense and smoking hot sex. I totally enjoyed reading The Billionaire's Intern and look forward to reading more from Jackie Ashenden in the future. The Billionaire's Intern is book 3 of the Billionaire Fairy Tales Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
The Billionaire's Intern is a naughty good read. I loved that it was a bit forbidden and a bit taboo but mostly I loved this take on the fairytale Sleeping Beauty. If you like your fairytales dirty then I recommend you pick this book up.
. The Billionaire's Intern is a unique, wicked, and enchanting retelling of the fairy tell classic Sleeping Beauty. Developing a character with ADHAD who must suppress her her emotions and impulses was brilliant. I loved Kira and Lorenzo. He rescues her and she rescued him right back.
What happens in the office, stays in the office, right?
I happened upon a Jackie Ashenden MC Romance previously, and since that's my addiction, I gave her a chance. I've been a fan ever since. I totally love her style of writing and look forward to whatever she comes up with next. She knows how to write a sexy alpha male perfectly and Lorenzo is no exception. He's cocky and arrogant and mouth-watering in a suit and a smirk. The author kept my attention from the beginning to the end of this short but very detailed story that included broken characters, intense passion and enough suspense to have me anxious for the outcome. I'll definitely be on the lookout for what she has in store for me next. Unfortunately, I missed the first two books in this series and read this one as a standalone. I'll have to improve on my stalking skills to make sure I don't miss the next one. The line forms here...
I give this book 3 1/2 stars. The book redeemed itself near the end. I didn't like the dominance in the beginning of this book. I also didn't like how the author kept talking about the same things over and over from the past. I mean how many times do you have to bring up the same thing in your mind. The book does have some good qualities and I did enjoy the novella. I have not read any of the other books in this series and you don't have to to read this book.
