edge of your seat book this one...an heir hunter who finds people for a price...a bone marrow is needed to save the life of a boy and so it begins...
one plane crash 6 years ago...two bodies recovered and the third one missing all adds to the intrigue..
what a brilliant book and a great ending...gonna keep my eye on this author
From the beginning I was sucked into this story. As usual, her research makes it very real!
Being an 'Heir Hunter' can be very dangerous to one's health!
I'm sorry I missed book 1, couldn't figure out how to get it in my library from here....
Write on and "caffeinate" Ms Capri!
While I enjoyed the first Michale Flint book, the son just dragged from about the 3rd chapter and I could't continue reading past chapter 6.
At first this seemed like something I could skim, but as I read more I found myself reading every word. Interesting premise with some twists and unforeseen turns..
I love that this was written by a woman, quite good for all the action. Michael Flint seems a little too good, connected, anticipatory and capable to be credible- a bit in the same hardto believe vein of Jack Reacher, nonetheless a fun read. It was good he made a few wrong calls; Thw ending did stretch credulity some although quite satisfying.
Will look forward to the next installment. Nicely done.
Michael Flint is an heir hunter and good at his job. His 7 year old friend, Maddie has a friend, Jamie who needs a bone marrow transplant to live. His mother is a billionaire but that doesn't help his problem. Josh Hallman the father Jamie never knew may have the correct match. The question is where Josh is alive or not. He was in a float plane crash 6 years ago with two friends. The plane crashed at landing and eventually the other two bodies were found but never Josh. Flint has to find out what happened and could Josh be alive. Time is precious here so he and Drake are working as fast as they can with help from associates to find Josh. Wilcox who Flint did a job for before is involved some how but how.. Flint and Drake are finding lots of clues but no Josh. Loose ends from the other case are coming together too. Keeps you busy just trying to keep up.
4 and 1 / 2 stars
Michael Flint’s young niece seven-year old Maddy asks Michael to help a friend of hers: a young boy named Jamie who desperately needs medical help. Michael can resist nothing when it comes to Maddy. When Michael meets the child’s mother, Veronica Beaumont, he is definitely not impressed. She might be a billionaire, but she’s a creep. Michael is an heir hunter and says he can find anyone. He is the best in the world.
Tech CEO Veronica hires Michael to find the father of the boy who needs a bone marrow transplant. The problem is that no one knows where Josh Hallman is or has seen him since the plane he was piloting went down with his two buddies six years earlier.
He recalls his time years earlier wondering if he should find his parents. He knew he could, but should he? His parents must have had a reason for giving him up. He didn’t have a bad life. Why go an stir up all that angst?
As Michael gets on with the case, he discovers that he is not the only one searching for Josh. There are also two dangerous ne’r-do-wells also looking for him.
He also gets embroiled in the case that may be about his mother. It seems there was another man on the plane that went down. And he may have connections to his mother. Drawn in almost against his will, he investigates that as well.
This is a very well written and plotted novel. The suspense starts out immediately and continues throughout the book. I truly enjoyed it. It is refreshing in that Michael is an heir hunter. This is a point of view I never encountered before. I liked Michael - he seemed well balanced. Oddly enough, this is my first Diane Capri novel, but it won’t be my last. (I also have to go back and pick up the first novel in this series.)
I want to thank NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for forwarding to me a copy of this most exciting book to read.
A real life Heir Hunter is a forensic genealogist.. someone who researches ancestry for missing heirs. Michael Flint is just such a man. He claims to be able to find anyone, anywhere, for a price.
Veronica Beaumont hires Michael Flint to find the father of her son who is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant. Two problems .. Josh Hallman doesn't know he has a son and Josh Hallman is possibly dead.
Six years ago, Josh and two of his friends were on a plane piloted by him. Shortly after, the plane was found, crashed, and the bodies of his two friends. Josh's body has never been found.
Flint is determined to find the truth and hopefully will find the man alive .. because Flint isn't the only one looking for Josh.
Flint is also working a case that is very personal and he's just received a link to his own past. But the question is ... just because he can find someone, should he?
Besides the normal resources needed to do his job, Flint has other skills and he's not afraid to use them when necessary. Though the second book, this is a fine stand alone novel. Wherever Flint goes, the reader can be sure there will be lots of action, lots of violence, and lots of dead bodies. This is a well-written story line with terrific characters. I look forward to Flint's next adventure.
Many thanks to the author / Thomas & Mercer / Netgalley for the advance digital copy. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
TRACE EVIDENCE by Diane Capri. Book 2 Heir Hunter
Seven year old Maddy had Michael around her little finger. She wants a favor for her friend at school, Jamie who is sick a lot. She told him you could find anybody, which was true. Jamie was like them, didn't know who his daddy was. Meeting Veronica , the boy's mother, didn't set well, he didnt like women who needed his help. With Maddy he couldn't refuse, her mother was almost as good as him, but she was busy. He'd like to be paid, she was rich, shallow, he. could work with that. What follow is a good detailed plot, that brings up a cold case also. Readers will enjoy this, it has enough twists and turns to figure out. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
