This is the 1st book in a new series featuring the SHOC team - sexy 'misfit shifters who are called on by the Council when all else fails .

Abby , a cougar shifter orphaned young and raised by a seal herd , likes her quiet life as an accountant ….
no longer having to outrun polar bears , walrus' and whales looking for a snack .
When she discovers money being siphoned to a Humanity group she finds herself in danger and takes off running to hide the computer tablet that holds the information to bring them down .
Declan and his team come to her rescue ………… but Declan decides to go rogue to keep Abby safe from interrogation by the Director .
The other members of his team do all they can to keep Abby and Declan safe until the computer information can be accessed .... for things are not quite as they seem within the SHOC hierarchy .

This is a fast paced , sexy , humorous story with bouts of danger ....., about shifters overcoming the past with plenty of ' in team dialogue ' to keep you smiling .
I look forward to the next in the series .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own .

I liked this story that is book 1 in the Shifter Rogues series. A little different from most shifter books because there are multiple animals (cats, wolves, bears, etc) in one community and they can mate with others. Abby is an accountant working for an organization that is very anti-shifter. She discovers information and now she is on a hit list. Declan works for a Shifter safety group and saves Abby's life. His wolf decides her cougar is his mate. As they explore their romance they work together to take down the bad guys. Lots of great characters for the next story. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This has a fast-paced, interesting plot with intriguing characters. If you like your males mega-alpha this is the book for you as there is an entire quasi military group of attractive men here. I look forward to reading more in this series. Well-written and recommended.

My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and loved it so much that I purchased a copy.

This was a fantastic read. There were times when I burst out in laughter. Then there were times of sadness. This book will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. I loved all of the characters and I can't wait to read all of their stories.

If you love PN romances, then you will definitely enjoy this story. There is so much going on and the intrigue will keep you in suspense. I didn't want to put this book down. I was able to read it in one day as it was SO GOOD. I highly recommend this story to all PN romance lovers.

WOLF’S MATE is the first book in the Shifter Rogues series. While I’m sure that it is intended that each will stand on its own with a different romance featured, I’m sure that everyone should read this one first. This is where you meet this sexy group of bad a** misfits and get a glimpse into the twisted metal that is their collective mind.

I love big kitties. Here in Central Florida, we call them panthers. We also have bobcats. In fact, I have one in my neighborhood that will watch us as we do our yardwork! These are solitary animals. They like the quiet, simple life. This is Abby Carter – a numbers girl – I get that! - but she can’t resist Declan when he appears in her world any more than our bobcat can resist watching us plant the pretty flowers in the front yard. Declan is her own irresistible catnip in yummy-man/big-bad-wolf form.

This book may have been all about Abby and Declan, but it is also the introduction to the whole sexy SHOC team. I can’t wait to see them all find and fall one-by-one as their mates claim them.

I hope Ms. Kyle and her team keep me on speed dial to continue this series. Seriously, I will drop everything to push the next book to the top of my TBR list when it is ready!

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This is a kick ass, action packed shifter PNR with great characters, an ongoing story line that keeps you glued to your kindle and a sweet romance between a gentle cougar and a bad ass (if a bit psycho) wolf. This is the first in the series and it was an amazing intro to the Shifter Rogues. It pretty much had a little of everything I like in a shifter read. There was heat, passion, humor, action, suspense, danger and some crazy good characters!

What I loved about it:
Declan was a nut but an adorable one and Abby is just the kind of heroine I love to root for. She’s a bit innocent and sheltered but she’s brave and loyal. Watching her and crazy ass Declan together was equal parts hilarious, touching and *fans self* freaking hot!

Then there’s the phenomenal supporting characters that blew my mind and tbh I have a crush on all the SHOC guys. I fell in love with every member from the team leader and grizzly, Birch, fellow wolf and goof ball, Grant, slick lion, Ethan, and smoldering tiger, Cole, I was hooked. These guys were all amazing in their own way and can’t wait to read their stories.

I’m still on the fence with Declan’s brother – but if this is any indication of the author’s style, I’m sure I’ll grow to love him too. There is definitely a story to tell there.

Favorite Lines:
Pretty much any inner dialogue form Declan and his wolf :)

He made sure the water was ice cold. His beast snarled at the frigid tempatures. Then it suddenly decided frozen was okay because maybe Abby could warm them. Horny little shit.

… he tried not to notice how good it felt to hold her close. The wolf notices. The wolf like it-a lot- even if she was a feline and their pups might spit up the occasional hairball.

Would I recommend?
Yes, this was a great story that was highly entertaining.

Celia Kyles’ Wolf’s Mate is the first book in her new Shifter Rogues series and I was completely thrilled with this new world. There were lots of strong, fascinating characters that easily drew me into their world and I am not embarrassed to say that I am hooked and will definitely be looking for more. The team seems to be one of misfits that scream bad boys and had me melting on the spot with their attitudes and ‘take it or leave it’ vibes that poured from the pages. Declan and Abby had lots of electrifying chemistry to heat things up and but were real and not so easy to give in to those feelings while they were on the run, which made the romance really interesting right along with all the suspense building thrills. Speaking of which there were lots of twists that kept me guessing and lots of action ensured that there was never a dull moment which added to the anticipation and kept me glued to the pages.

I have always been a real fan of Celia Kyles’ work and this new world is certainly one that I will be following as she made it thrilling and romantic but gave her characters real personalities that seemed to jump off the pages and make each character uniquely individual and had me wanting to get to know them better. And the world is full of mysteries to keep readers guessing at real intentions of some of the characters and wondering just how well this team will function. The dialogue she used also added to the realistic feel of this team and added some humor as well. Needless to say, I am definitely looking forward to reading Tiger’s Claim when it releases in October.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This book was so much fun with a mix of romance, intrigue, and humor. There were a couple of twists thrown in which I did not see coming and while there was an HEA for Abby and Declan, there is still the ongoing fight against UH.

Declan saves Abby from men sent to kill her then goes rogue to save her from his own organization. Fortunately, the rest of his team helps them out. Lots of fighting, running for their lives, and trying to figure out why events are happening.

It was hard to put this book down, and I was very engaged with the story line. I am glad that the next book is focused on Cole, as he sure seems like he needs his own mate. It will be funny when Grant meets his mate, there were so many laughs when he is around. Poor Birch seems like he has a sad history so I am looking forward to more books in this series.

One thing that was not disclosed was why their director, Quade, was interested in Abby and kept wanting to take her away. I hope that this is going to be explained in a future book as well as who the person leaking information to the UH. Great start to a new series!

Wolf's Mate by Celia Kyle is the First book in the Shifter Rogues Series. This is the story of Abby Carter and Declan Reed.
Abby tries to keep a low profile, plays it safe and doesn't look for the spotlight. But when she uncovers some dangers information dealing with anti-shifter organization her life becomes a target.
Declan seems to be the only one that will be able to keep her safe.
Along with the danger they start to find each other.
Really exciting read!

Wolf’s Mate by Celia Kyle

Paranormal romantic suspense on the light side of the genre. 1st in a series.
This is my first book by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the pacing, the dialog and mostly the light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek type humor. I will absolutely read more of this author.

I could list dozens of examples of the humor and funny one liners. The heroine is a cat shifter. A cougar. She scolds her inner cat for not helping by swearing not to go to the pet store for catnip. Hilarious.

“Just see if she bought catnip at the pet store. Just see.
That assumed she made it out of the hot mess alive so she could go to the pet store. If she had a Magic 8-ball, her fortune would be “outlook not so good.”

“The cougar told her she was a big fat liar from Liarton, smack-dab in the middle of the great state of Liar-isiana, living on Lying Avenue.”

Very entertaining.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to gift.

Declan Reed is part of Shifter Operations Command. He was once a killer for hire but put his past behind him and was trying to be a better person. SHOC consisted of the most dangerous men who were trying to do good things, so he was in good company. Declan’s SHOC team is on a job trying to get info to see if a company, FosCo, is involved in feeding money into the shifter hate group, Unified Humanity. While observing the building, Declan sees Abby Carter. She’s an accountant that is doing an audit for FosCo, and Declan can’t seem to keep his eyes off of her. When she digs into an account she was told to stay away from and sees that they are indeed filtering money into UH the owner of FosCo is alerted and Abby’s life seems to be in danger. Declan doesn’t wait around but goes to save her. He ends up taking her and hiding her from everyone – including his team and this makes him a rogue.

Abby isn’t sure what’s going on. She knows that what she found at FosCo is horrible and that people are after her to get the info – she just doesn’t know who to trust. She’s pretty sure that Declan is a good guy but she’s not positive. Despite not knowing about him, she’s still attracted to Declan and doesn’t let a little thing like her life being in danger stop her from showing that attraction. Of course she’s not sure either of them will live to do anything about it in the future.

This was a cute paranormal story. I liked both Abby, Declan and his entire SHOC team. I read this in one sitting as it was a fast read.

Abby was a great character. She was strong – she’d had to be her entire life – and wasn’t about to let Declan boss her around. I loved the fact that she didn’t let anyone push her around. Yes, she was scared at times but she still showed her strength throughout her trials.

Declan was alpha male all the way. He wanted what he wanted and no one was going to stand in his way. He was rough and tough and had been a been a killer for hire – not an ideal background – but he was gentle with Abby and wasn’t afraid to show her his softer side.

Overall the book was a good one and I enjoyed the beginning of this new series.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Danger, passion ,and shifters, I want more!

This book was amazingly written and had the best characters interaction and dialogue I have read in a long time. I loved Declan and Abby. They were on fire and even with all the crazy going on, they still had that undeniable CLICK.

This story delivered a heroine I LOVED who really held her won, with an alpha who gave that word true meaning. I couldn't wait to see where the story was going and by the end I was hooked. I want more. Celia Kyle has a way of writing shirts that truly makes you think the next person you talk to could be one. She writes with such passion and description it was like watching TV.

Loved every word.

Fast paced, suspense and a new world of shifters, Ms. Kyle introduces me to an exciting new series. I have read Ms. Kyle before years ago and enjoyed her work. They were short stories and engaging. It seems I have missed out on a bit as her latest story is meaty and more robust. Her characters are fun and headstrong. Abby is a do good-er who keeps her shifter side quiet. Declan is a ruthless killer who will do whatever it takes to take out the anti-shifter organization. When the two cross paths, it is explosive and both their plans go sideways.

This first book in the series promises to bring suspense, intrigue, double agents and irrational humans. At the heart of this book is a conflict between shifter hating humans and the shifters who defend all other shifters. Some shifters, like Abby try to fly under the radar. Others are warriors like Declan. Still Abby does her part in bringing down shifter hating humans. She does what a smart person knows… she follows the money. When she gets too close to answers, Declan needs to come save her. From the moment they meet, there is hot chemistry. Under her mild looking persona, Abby is a wild cat. Her interactions with Declan are delightful. She sticks up for herself and quickly gets with the program. For Declan, he is not expecting to be enticed by a little kitty cat. Abby's pussy cat entices Declan's wolf. Their little chasing mating dance whilst dodging bullets and bad guys is erotic and exciting.

I liked Abby. She is a genuinely sweet person who is caught up by more than she expects. She does not shy away and steps up to help out. She may have been a bit startled by being under surveillance, but she quickly realizes she has the same goals as Declan's team. A team that is quite a bit rogue and more likely to shoot first then ask questions. This is opposite of Abby's methods which makes her attraction to Declan more amusing. They balance each other well. Whilst this romance is whirling along, the world building moves at a similar fast pace. This story is a fast read because it is hard to put down once started. Recommended for paranormal romance readers who enjoy alpha males who find their match in a smart female.

I did not like this book, I found the characters had no real chemistry and just didn't connect. It was very I'm Alpha listen to me and do what I say shtick. I just found I was getting more and more frustrated. I never really like to put a book down because I think what isn't a good book for someone is a favourite for another. So While I personally did find it a bit lacking and had an annoying main male character, this could be something someone else will love

Danger shouldn’t be this sexy . . .
Cougar shifter Abby Carter always plays it safe. That’s why she’s an accountant—no excitement, no danger, and no cocky alpha males. She loves her quiet life, but fate has other plans. When Abby uncovers the shady dealings of an anti-shifter organization, she’ll have to trust the too-sexy-for-her-peace-of-mind werewolf

Declan Reed . . . or end up six feet under.
Declan Reed is starting over. After two years with Shifter Operations Command, it’s time to put his past behind him. Now Declan is the only thing standing between the gorgeous Abby and an early grave, and if he’s going to have any chance of keeping her alive, he’ll have to embrace the darkness he’s fought to keep at bay. But first he has to convince Abby that there’s no safer place in the world than the arms of a big bad werewolf.

I'm a big fan of Celia Kyle. She has a fantastic ability to make you laugh out loud while you're reading. Many of her stories are quick reads. "Wolf's Mate" is a little different from her previous books. This one is a little more serious in nature and a little longer than some of her others.

In Wolf's Mate the two lead characters are a little more complicated. The hero, Declan, knows that he isn't a good person and can't possibly be good enough for innocent Abby.

Abby witnessed her parents being killed by a group that kills shifters when she was a child. When she grew up she decides to live a quiet life as an accountant. Two couldn't be more different.

I also think she spent a little more time world building on her subject, which leaves the reader a chance to get into the characters and the story behind the characters relationship.

This is a continual series, although you could stop with just this one story, but you'll be looking forward to reading more in the end.

Abby is just a number cruncher. She balances the books until she finds numbers that don’t match. And then her curiosity takes over. But will following the money lead to her death?
Wolf’s Mate is first in Celia Kyle’s new Shifter Rogues series. I enjoyed the new world Ms. Kyle is building. Abby has found herself in a dangerous situation and she is unsure who to trust. Declan is determined to be the one who earns her trust. But can she look beyond his past. Declan is a killer and makes no apologies for it. He is who he is and until Abby burst into his world he was just fine with that. I love how Abby and Declan fight the sense that their attraction is something more. Their animals have moved way beyond their human halves and accepted what they are to each other with a quickness. Watching Declan and Abby fight themselves was entertaining to say the least. Ms. Kyle gives us an action packed story with this series. There are twists and turns all while Abby and Declan learn to trust in each other and themselves. This story is well written and full of quirkiness that I enjoy in Ms. Kyle’s stories. I enjoyed the budding relationship between Declan and Abby. I also enjoyed the interaction between Team One. I can’t wait to see how Ms. Kyle will lead them to their own happily ever after.

This book was a DNF for me. I was unable to connect to the characters. I struggled to get into the story and found it difficult to continue.
