totally his opens with the theater sophie has poured her heart and soul and life savings into on fire. and there's a script that she needs to save no matter what. so she tries to sneak back in. except she's not inconspicuous in any way while wearing a dark wig and pink frilly underwear.

when finn o'malley catches a glimpse of her he tries to convince himself that he would have followed her back into the theater no matter what she was wearing. it's foolhardy and dangerous and when he has to carry her out of the theater he knows it's wrong to admit that he would have preferred to carry her to his bed.

when he finds out who she is, he's shaken to realize that his mother didn't want him to meet her. even though sophie and his mother are not just good friends but collaborators. and even though he promises his mother he'll stay away, he finds he can't. he finds himself doing things that are so out of character only to spend a little time basking in sophie's company.

because the truth is, finn is all in from the moment he learns who sophie is. even if he can't admit it to himself at first. the problem is that sophie is a total commitment-phobe. her father spent his life conning women into marriage and then prompty ruining those relationships when he got bored or started to care a little too much. so all sophie knows is that relationships end and it hurts. she can't stand more loss in her life.

but with finn, there's not just the promise of love, there's the promise of family. and that loss could be even more devastating to sophie than the loss of their relationship. but the risk of loss could be worth it for the amount of love that being in finn's arms would give her.

Totally His is the third book in the Opposites Attract series, but it can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any of the previous books and had no clue that it was part of a series.

Sophie is the co-owner of a local theater. Finn is a police officer. When the theater catches on fire and Finn's mother admits how much the place means to her, Finn gathers a group of cops and firefighters to help repair the place. Only he hadn't counted on meeting Sophie, and Sophie hadn't counted on becoming interested in her friend's son.

Sophie is feisty and fun. Finn is more serious. They balance each other out well, and the chemistry between them is great.

I felt for Sophie and the childhood she had because of her con-artist father, Frank. He doesn't make her adult life easy, either. He's definitely not going to score points with readers. I did like, however, how Finn stands up to Frank for Sophie.

Totally His is a well-written story with characters you want to root for and one you don't. I recommend giving it a read. Readers both new and old to the series are going to enjoy it.

This is the third in the series but each book can be read as a stand alone. Each story is so adorable.

Sophie is a complicated character. She has been through a lot and still has a sense of humor and a sweetness that while I had a bit of a hard time sometimes getting to know her but she is worth the hard work.

But oh how I adored Finn. There is just something so alpha and yet diamond in the rough for this character.

But together this couple is just too adorable for words. They are truly meant for each other and the author did a great job connecting them.

A story not to be missed!

4.5 stars -- I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

This was a fabulous conclusion to what was a really witty, engaging, and fun series.  And no, you most certainly do not need to read the other books in the series to enjoy this story, but if you find yourself enjoying this one, trust me, the rest are just as engaging.  And what's great is that each hero and heroine are SO DIFFERENT, but equally lovable.

My heart broke for Sophie, and how she grew up, and what she saw for her future because of her conman father.  And while sometimes it felt like her growth took a bit longer than I'd like, I did like watching her find her happiness, find her big family, and truly find love.  It was very rewarding.  And I loved seeing how she interacted with big groups, whether it was watching her direct in the theatre, or direct the Kelly family during trivia.  She entertained me.

And Finn was pretty adorable.  I really loved having a hero who was a cop who was quite honestly very different from the usual cop heroes you read so often.  He was protective, he had a very strong sense of right and wrong, but he loved so strongly.  He wasn't seriously damaged or anything.  I'm not saying he didn't have flaws, but you got to see him try to work through those himself.  And I just absolutely adored seeing him pursue Sophie when he decided she was the one for him, and she was worth risking broken hearts for (not just his, but his family's).

And Sophie and Finn had fabulous chemistry...you really felt their draw to each other.  I loved the way they bantered and interacted.  They complimented each other well.

Finn's family was hilarious and adorable.  I loved what they brought to the story, and how Finn's Mom was an integral part of Sophie's growth.  I wasn't sure how I would feel about Frank, but I was satisfied how that played out.  And obviously the glimpses of Keira, Zach, Maya, and Alex were fantastic.  Actually, I wouldn't have minded more...

So yeah.  Fun and flirty, with some feels and a super satisfying ending.

I need a Finn Kelly!! He's so sweet and funny and so incredibly sexy! Then there's Sophie. What a mess that girl is. Yet she's so caring and strong. These two were just perfect for each other in this funny tale of finding love when you least expect it. From the hilarious first meeting, to the raucous trivia contests, to the heartbreaking encounters with Sophie's father, this book was truly a joy to read. The characters are so well developed you feel like you've known them all your life. The writing is exceptional and the story is as I've said just plain fun. Definitely a book for the must read list. I highly recommend it.

I am a HUGE fan of Erin Nicholas! I have read all of the books from the Sapphire Falls Series and Taking Chances Series. I own the paper versions of the other two books in this series but I decided to read them out of order. I don't feel as if this was a problem for me to follow along with the story line so this book can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoy Erin Nicholas's writing style and how easy and quick her books read.

I have been WAITING for this book! Finn is my current new book boyfriend because I totally fell in love with him in this story. He and Sophie are perfect for each other. I think this could be a stand alone book, but I would read the first two to just get the background on the other characters before moving on to Sophie.

I have been loving this Opposites Attract series because the female characters are wonderfully geeky and nerdy in their own ways. Sophie is a theatre geek and acting and dressing up is her thing. She knows a lot about the community theatre and it shows in the plot and dialogue.

I think Finn is her perfect match. One, it's hard to resist a sexy cop out to protect you and two, he is sort of protecting her from the criminal actions of her father. The character development of the family that Sophie has chosen for herself is sweet and endearing. I love Finn's extended family and the author made me want to be a part of it. You will get sucked into Sophie's journey of discovering that love does not have to hurt. She can find the perfect person to complement her personality. The story wraps up with a sweet and sexy HEA. I recommend this book to any contemporary romance reader. The perfect escape for fall.

Sophie Birch grew up with a father who was a con man (what is the deal with romance heroine's named Sophie always having con men fathers?). Obviously, this has made her fairly wary of relationships in her adult life, even with her roommates (the heroines of the first two books in this series). Except... it's different with Angela. Sophie sees her as a sort of surrogate mother. And that's the reason she tries to run back into her burning theater; to save the only copy of Angela's play. Too bad some dude keeps trying to rescue her.
Finn Kelly is trying to keep a crazy lady from running into a building but can still take the time to appreciate how hot she looks in the lingerie she's wearing. He can tell she's not the sort of woman who's going to fit into his life but he is drawn to her anyway. Even after meeting her father (this cop can tell when he's being played), he wants to know more and more about her.
This was a typical Nicholas book that I think regular readers will enjoy. I got SO annoyed with both Sophie and Finn though. Finn seemed to have a hero complex that was unwarranted and Sophie was so wishy-washy.

I have enjoyed the other two books in this series, so I was excited to get to this one.

Love love loved Sophie and Finn. She’s sassy and feisty and he’s loyal and strong. Together they’re really good people with a crap load of chemistry. I loved the large family and as always, it’s delightful to get a glimpse of the previous couples.

Plot wise, it’s nearly all fluff, which is my favorite. There is a bit of conflict when it comes to Sophie’s dad and while it does span the entire book, it wasn’t too bad.

Overall, it was a quick and cute read. I have a feeling it’ll be a book I read when I need a pick-me-up.

Finn had no idea what the play was called o what it was about, but it explained the cow, he hoped. This is how the story started and how can you not snort tat that line. The dialogue, both internal and between characters continues in this fun way. Finn and Sophie are great characters and their collection of family and friends support and enhance them except for her father. This part of the story I did not like and although it does explain some of her reluctance in forming relationships I actually was a little bored with him and their relationship and I saw where this as going. However, I was happy that she was up front about her dad ( and avoided all those typical storyline plots) Their chemistry was hot, their first time together was seriously scorching. The story overall was fun.

Contemporary Romance

Boston, Massachusetts - Present Day

Sophie Birch has dedicated her life and what money she makes at the theater that was left to her by her grandmother to help it become a modest success. One night, a fire breaks out, and after everyone exits, Sophie realizes that a script written by her friend, Angie Kelly, might be in danger of being destroyed, so she goes back inside. A handsome cop is soon hot on her trail trying to get her back out. While Sophie eventually finds what she's looking for, her would-be rescuer is ticked at her for refusing his orders. While the sparks might have flown between them, she doesn't have the time to get involved in a romance. Then, Sophie meets Angie's son, Finn. Oh…my…he is her hot cop.

Finn Kelly is protective of his mother, Angie, and is aware that she's involved in the theater, but thinks nothing of it until he comes face-to-face with Sophie a few days after the fire. Sophie appears to have a lot of influence over Angie, plus there's the fact that the fire's origins are suspicious, so it's understandable that Finn doesn't trust her in case she's an arsonist. However, whether Sophie and Finn like it or not, there's some serious spontaneous combustion going on between them.

TOTALLY HIS is the third book in the Opposites Attract series by Erin Nicholas. Though this is the first one I've read in this series, I didn't have any issues in who is who because it's totally Finn and Sophie's story. Sophie was raised by a vagabond charmer who used his only child to land rich women from whom he stole until he tired of them and then moved on. Unfortunately, Sophie and her father, Frank, each inherited half of the theater and he takes his half of profits to spend as he sees fit, while she wants to put it all into making their building better. With the fire comes insurance proceeds, and Frank once again takes half while working on her guilt (father/daughter long term issues) to get her half. Sophie tries to keep Frank away from her personal life, but that may be hard when Finn begins to show an interest in her. The last thing she wants is for her father to get his hooks into Angie.

Finn has a history of commitment issues and is well aware that dating a friend of his mother's could to lead to complications. But he's attracted to Sophie, and they're soon having sex in the theater building after hours. Add in that he and his friends are not only helping to repair the theater, but they're going to perform in the upcoming play based on Angie's script, then Sophie and Finn can't avoid each other. The sparks fly and the chemistry between them sizzles like water on a hot skillet. While Finn worries how their fling will play out, Sophie is worried her father will do something, like stealing money from the Kelly family, to throw another wrench into her personal life.

Besides Frank and Angie, other characters of note in TOTALLY HIS are Finn's brother, Colin, and the various Kelly cousins. The Kelly's are one raucous bunch when everyone is together at the bar they own. We also briefly see Sophie's girlfriends, Kiera and Maya, who have had their stories told in COMPLETELY YOURS and FOREVER MINE, both out now.

There's a touch of lighthearted humor mixed in with the hot romance in TOTALLY HIS, and readers will surely enjoy this engaging tale.

Totally His is the third book in Erin Nicholas' Opposites Attract series, but could be read as a standalone in my opinion. The story follows Sophie, an actress who grew up being taught by her unreliable father not to trust, and Finn a fun-loving fireman who rescues her.

I really enjoyed Sophie and Finn's relationship. As much as I loved their heated chemistry what I liked the most was how they interacted with each other. They had amazing dialogue and the author kept it all pretty light and fun which I felt fit perfectly for these characters. I did feel like there were time that the back and forth Sophie did of wanting to be with Finn but then telling herself she had to stay away got to be a little much. It became a little repetitive and at a few parts seemed to slow the story down just some.

Overall, this was a perfect ending to this series and I actually want to go back and read all of these books over again. If you're looking for a light contemporary read with a sexy Hero, pick up this book.

This book ties in with two previous titles by Erin Nicholas. The group is called Opposites Attract. Each covers a first responder who meets an unlikely match. The characterizations are well done. Characters from the previous novels make pleasant appearances. The hero is an EMT and the heroine is an actress running a playhouse she inherited from her grandmother. The issues of loyalty and family are key in this book. I really enjoyed the previous titles and was pleased to see the story continue.

5 "I saw him first" stars

Tnx to Mrs. Nicholas I've developed a new obsession with Irish men. Finn with this strong and beautiful personality had me hooked from page one. From the way he loved his mom to the way he did everything he could to make Sophie happy.

I love how the Kelly's embraced Sophie in to their mix and showed her what a real family looks like with taking care and loving each other no matter what.

This is one of my favourite series - hands down!💝

With a father that made a living scamming women, Sophie has learned to depend on herself and guard her heart. When her theater ends up with some fire damage, she suddenly finds a hot cop invading her life.
The hot woman in pink lingerie caught Finn's attention right away but her guarded heart is giving him quite the challenge.
Sophie and Finn are about to be hit with a hurricane of past hurts, family drama, and sexual chemistry.

Maybe she'd give him a chance. The thought flashed through his mind. Maybe he'd like theater. Or maybe this was an opposites-attract thing. That seemed more likely. Or hell, maybe they could just date for the sex.

Third in the Opposites Attract series, we have our guarded heroine Sophie and open hearted hero Finn. Sophie's two girlfriends were the heroines of the two previous books but I had no problem starting here in the series. If you like Jill Shalvis, you'll enjoy this couple’s similar in tone playful encounters. The first half of this book was incredibly delightful with Finn and Sophie meeting and acting out some great fun and hot chemistry.

How he wanted to say sweet things like how gorgeous she was and how lucky he felt that she'd let him close like this. Close was hard for her. This was not sex-only dating, and he knew she knew that.

A fire gives our couple their meet-cute but Sophie actually ends up being the great theater friend Finn's mother had been raving about. Finn is the oldest and every since his father died, he's taken on the role of leader and taking care of everyone. I liked his calm, cool, and take care of business attitude that was also accompanied with a sense of humor and sexy demeanor. He was a great companion to Sophie's kickboxing, I don't want any part of a family, and feisty self. The first half was them meeting, feeling each other out, and sparking off each other and I enjoyed it immensely. After that, it seemed their relationship was a bit rushed with their second meeting kind of snowballing into a pretty invasive personal talk and not a ton of long interactions. The story started getting a bit repetitive with Sophie fearing getting close to Finn and his family, being hot and heavy with him, and then proclaiming she must stay away.

And he wanted to eat ice cream in bed with her. He wanted to read out loud to her. In bed. And he wanted to talk dirty to her. In bed. In the shower. In the kitchen. In his truck. There were so many dirty things he wanted to say to her, do to her, hear from her.

After our leads sweet, lively, and down and dirty beginning, I was little disappointed in the second half not providing some more depth to their relationship. A vast majority of the scenes take place in the theater, Sophie doesn't spend any time with her friends, and not a ton of scenes of Finn and Sophie interacting with the large amount of secondary characters. For the big role Finn's mom plays in the story she actually stayed a bit too much to the sidelines along with Finn's brother and partner. Having Sophie and Finn's friends and family stay to the side too much gives the story a lack of depth that small town (this actually takes place in Boston but there is clearly a community of people that the author is focusing on to provide a small town feeling) contemporary romance is known and loved for.

Sophie's father provided a good antagonist to keep our leads from an easy happily ever after but for the most part this story was pretty heavy angst free. This was a sweet story that wasn't afraid to also get down and dirty. I greatly enjoyed visiting the Kelly family starring Finn and will look forward to his firefighter brother Colin hopefully getting top billing next time.

Erin Nicholas’s “Opposites Attract” series is an extraordinary blend of some remarkable characters, polar opposites, yet the power of attraction, lust and love, draws them to each other, extremely impressive storylines, and a with a surprising twist of sourness, the latest “Totally His” is simply an orgasmic read!

Beautiful actress in pink lingerie Sophie Birch meets the savior and protector Finn Kelly, bearer of handcuffs and dreams sexy and dirty, when her theatre catches fire; a fire that sparks a fiery spark of lust and attraction, dating and mating, and relationships and forever-after.

The highlight of this story is Sophie’s estranged relationship with her unreliable and unworthy father. A father that she really loves yet disappoints her entire life. A father who is selfish and would do anything for his own good, yet Sophie cannot make her heart let go of this complication. The dynamics of this relationship was very well portrayed and with Finn getting involved to smooth things was one of the best scenes of this love story.

How can you not fall in love with Finn, a guy who goes to great lengths to get to know Sophie intimately, understanding her fears and insecurities, benevolent of the relationship between his mother and Sophie, Finn would do anything to make Sophie “Totally His”.

And to be honest, reviews do not do justice to this stunning story as Sophie and Finn navigate the complexities of a relationship, with a large extended family and their interferences. Erin Nicholas created an amazing Finn Kelly and Sophie Birch, well staged and choreographed.

Received an ARC from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley for an honest review.

The lure of Erin Nicholas is that through the drama and heartbreak she never holds back on the realism. Using the defining moments in life such as falling in love, facing fears and learning about what makes us who we are, she stays true to life and allows hints of the childhood fairy tale to filter into adult happiness. Totally His takes on fear and self - doubt with the humor that is Ms. Nicholas' trademark and the emotion that every fan expects. Sophie makes neurotic sexy while Finn thrives on keeping readers guessing. With a flair for fun and a penchant for romance, this couple shoots for the stars and hits the bullseye.

This was the final book in this series and it was the best. I loved seeing Sophie and Finn come together, they were definitely opposites. It was a very enjoyable and sweet read. I loved the interactions between them and also seeing Sophie come to the realization that love doesn't always hurt. Finn was amazing, I just loved him.

Totally His, Erin Nicholas’s book 3 of her “Opposites Attract” series is a warm, fun and sexy romance. I really like Erin Nicholas’s style in general, and her books are always an auto-buy for me—I can always count on her to deliver strong, well written characters and to include ancillary characters that add value to the story and don’t feel like cardboard pictures, there to move the story along. But with this series as a whole, and especially with Totally His, Nicholas has outdone herself. The main characters in these stories are not perfect…they have flaws and they have issues. Not insurmountable, not crazy, and not just to add drama for the sake of drama. These characters feel like real people, and their challenges feel like real, every day challenges that many of us face. In Totally His, Sophie thinks she can’t have a family; that she’s destined to always be looking in from outside. As you learn about her childhood and see her deal with the various stressors in her life, you understand why you feel that way, and you find yourself rooting for her, and for her relationship with Finn. And Finn…oh my goodness. He’s a strong alpha male with very well developed protective tendencies—who wouldn’t love a handsome Irish cop who loves his mama? The chemistry between Sophie and Finn was so steamy, it leapt right off the page. The attraction felt tangible and authentic. There are several good love scenes in this book, and each one is different, romantic and HOT. You can read Totally His without having read the first two books in the series—each book is a standalone. There are a few common characters that show up in each book, and the three heroines are best friends and roommates, but in Totally His, you don’t see or hear much about any of the characters in the first two books. They make a couple brief cameos, but this is Sophie and Finn’s story. I highly recommend Totally His. It’s a modern romance full of good old-fashioned fun, love and chemistry!

Totally His is a great addition to the Opposite Attract series by Erin Nicholas. This book is packed with such fun characters, fiestiness, sass and of course romance. Finn is a typical alpha cop who shows his sweet, understanding side towards Sophie. I also love how protective he was of her as well. Sophie is the queen of fiesty and sass, she definitely gives Finn a run for his money. I enjoyed the show being put on by the hot fireman and cops, it added to the fun factor in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed Totally His and I can't wait to see what she is working on next.
